I was really looking forward to trying this place because the reviews were so positive but I was pretty disappointed. I ordered an iced soy vanilla chai, which is my go-to drink literally everywhere. She told me they didn’t have soy milk so I opted for almond milk instead, which I have had with chai before and it’s not bad. I also ordered a cinnamon roll. It took a very long time to get the drink, there was a long line and only 1 person making drinks, which didn’t bother me as I wasn’t in a hurry but others seemed annoyed. I got my drink and cinnamon roll and left. The cinnamon roll tasted good, however the chai was horrible. I can’t even describe the taste of it, but it was not even close to what a chai should taste like. I tried drinking it and hoped I would get use to the off taste but I couldn’t so I didn’t finish the drink. I will probably return and try another drink, because people are so positive about the coffee here. But I would strongly advise against ordering the chai.

Luckyduck Bicycle Cafe – Menu with Prices – 302 12th St, Oakland

Hipster interior design and great lattes! I’ve always wanted to try this place out since it’s located so close to my grandparents’ place. I wish they open earlier because I am usually only in the area before 8am. I came here at around 8:15am on a weekday and waited in line for 10min because they were short on staff. I ordered the chai latte with oat milk and the latte with whole milk. Chai Latte $4.75 (3.8/5) I love that they serve oat milk! The tea flavor was average. I like my chai to have a ginger kick to it but this one doesn’t have it. It has a layer of foam on top and the drink has a nice cinnamon flavor. There’s a hint of sweetness and it’s very creamy with the oat milk. Latte $4 (5/5) I ordered it with whole milk and the balance of the espresso shot to milk ratio was perfect. Very creamy and smooth. This place has a relaxing vibe with cool arts. It’s a nice place to work or to have a chat. I will definitely come back for their coffee and try their food next time!

Coffee Dose – Menu with Prices – 3035, 116 E 18th St, Costa Mesa

Came here on a whim with my best friend and my sister after seeing how hyped up it was on Instagram and we were frankly disappointed. The coffee shop was also a makeshift hair salon, where people could go in and get their hair done. We all ordered drinks. I ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk, my sister ordered an iced chai latte with whole milk, and my best friend ordered a cappuccino. After being there and hearing our names for the order, we grabbed our cups and took a sip. We couldn’t believe the disbelief of how disgusting our drinks were. Both chai teas tasted like Delsym, an orange cough syrup with cinnamon and the cappuccino tasted very sour. We weren’t too happy about the quality of the drinks after seeing how great the advertisements were on social media. After another sip, we decided we could no longer drink these drinks and went back to tell the baristas. Because it was our first time here and the taste was awful, I asked if we could swap them out with different drinks as the ones we ordered were not up to par. My friend and I both opted for a hot match a latte with almond milk and oat milk. My sister got a mocha. We were happy that they let us swap out the first drinks as they weren’t very good. The second round of drinks, tasted much better, but nothing too far from a 3/5. The aesthetic here is cute, I would rate it 4/5. However, their drinks are sub par, I dont think I will be coming back anytime soon as it was nothing special. Yes, the cups have some sassy sayings like “so fucking zen” or “anti-bitch serum,” but the drinks itself are not worth the price.

Union Street Kitchen Café – Menu with Prices – 42 Crichton St, Ottawa

I usually love Union Street Cafe! The service is usually amazing and their food and baked goods are so tasty! I remember one time I went and I got a delicious chai tea latte with dried rosebuds on top — it was so good! However, my last visit to Union Street Cafe last week, there was a long line around lunch time. I stood waiting in line while the customer in front of me seemed to be causing some confusion as she ordered one drink, then changed her mind and then wanted to add oat milk. I could tell that it was all very confusing! But instead of having one girl focus on that customer and the other employee focus on me, as I was next in line, they both just kind of stared blankly at her. Finally after a long wait, it was my turn to order my iced chai tea latte. However, when I got my drink it tasted so so bad. I was hoping maybe I’d become accustomed to the taste after another sip but with each sip the after taste it left was so gross. I’ve had an iced chai tea latte from here before and it tasted nothing like this one — I think the barista, distracted by the other customer, must have missed an ingredient in my drink as it just tasted like murky almond milk. No chai flavour at all! Overall, I’d recommend Union street cafe for their baked goods and sandwiches. But I would say that for the cost of my drink at Union Street Cafe ($5.25) I’d rather just go to Starbucks where I can rely on the quality and taste of their drinks every time. Union street cafe is very hit or miss with their drinks, and for the higher cost of their drinks, that’s a risk I’m not willing to take.

Le Macaron French Pastries Santa Monica – Menu with Prices – 1301 Montana Ave, Santa Monica

This place had the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with easy ice and what they gave me tasted exactly like a cup of milk. Because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and I had just spent upwards of $5 on this drink, I went in and politely requested that they either remake the drink or remedy it in some way. To this request, I received an eye roll and a statement that I will have to pay $3 extra for them to add more coffee. My other option was to repurchase the drink for another $5 and hope that they make the drink correctly the second time. Furthermore, both women working repeatedly told me that the drink tasted like this because I asked for less ice. In my eyes, a request for less ice is not a request for more milk. This was a terrible purchase and experience. The poorly made drink coupled with the rude customer service has ensured that I will not be returning. I have nothing positive to say about this business.

Indaba Coffee – Menu with Prices – 419 N Nettleton St, Spokane

My daughter and I came in here Friday to enjoy some donuts at the connecting donut shop (highly recommend). We decided to get a drink from Indaba as well… I’m not a huge coffee drinker and was excited to see they had chai! My daughter and I both ordered the orange, maple chai tea… sounded DELICIOUS and we were both excited to taste it as I am a huge chai fan. Anyways, they used fresh orange zest and real maple syrup (which I was totally stoked about) AND it was so unfortunate we were unable to taste these flavors as the taste of the chai spices were SO OVERWHELMING. The aftertaste was so spicy and strong that we couldn’t get past it (it was similar to that burn you get from eating raw ginger) I thought maybe it was just my drink made that way, so I tasted my daughters as well and hers was just as spicy. I was totally bummed… spent $10 on 2 drinks we couldn’t even drink. Easy down on the chai spice, a little goes a long way..

Tai Tea Anaheim Menu with Prices 9840 Katella Ave, Anaheim

I have been a fan of the Tai Tea franchise since I loved their milk tea and iced milk drinks at the other locations. When I saw they had a BOGO deal, I had to come check it out! However, I never knew someone can mess up on Jasmine Milk Tea so badly…. I am not sure if it was because of the promotion they had, hence they rushed or if it was because of the ingredients in general… Jasmine Milk Tea, half sweet, – it did not have any jasmine taste at all. It was also very bland and did not taste right at all. Not sure what made it taste like this, but i did not taste any jasmine green tea in the milk tea. Very disappointed in this drink since it is always my go-to drink for every store. Berry Lychee tea, half sweet – very little taste of strawberry and lychee. I think since I got half sweet, they lessened the syrup pumps they put in, resulting in a very bitter tea with little to no flavor Triple the trouble – this drink ended up being too sweet for me. The flavor was good though, but tasted just like syrup instead of something fresh and refreshing MangoNada- this was great. Good mango and chamoy flavor and consistency in the slush. WinterMelon milk tea – Did not taste any winter melon in this drink. It was very subtle and the milk tea itself did not taste right. Hong Kong Milk Tea Coffee – This drink was horrible honestly. I was expecting a very strong ceylon milk tea with a hint of coffee because I often drink this type of drink elsewhere and make it at home as well. But this was extremely bitter and did not taste any tea. They need to add more creamer or more tea because it tasted like straight-up black coffee with a splash of milk and sugar. I hope they improve their drinks. I had a very bad experience with my drinks. My family and I ended up throwing away all of our drinks half way because we were so unhappy with them. they did not taste right at all besides the Mangonada.

Jubilee Roasting Co. Menu with Prices 1452 Kenton St, Aurora

My boyfriend and I were recently in Aurora for the first time and wanted coffee/tea, so we ended up at Jubilee. The inside is super cute and was very busy; they also have outside seating. Between the two of us we ordered the ham&cheese croissant, cinnamon bun muffin, chai tea latte, coffee, and a specialty drink (I can’t remember the name). Food: The croissant and muffin were good – good sizes and tasty. Definitely get them both heated, although if you are sitting outside on an October morning they will get cold quickly. Drinks: I am not a coffee drinker, but my boyfriend said that this is probably the best coffee he’s ever had… and he drinks a lot of coffee! They have an option to do a bottomless mug if you plan to stay there, which is definitely the route to go. He did not do that and regretted it shortly after, so he ended up going back in to get the bottomless. I got the chai latte w/oat milk. Their chai is on the milkier side rather than spicy, but it is still delicious! The specialty drink I got was called the Camp Dance or something like that – a mix of chai and apple cider and spices steamed together. It is SO good and the perfect fall drink!! We love Jubilee so much we wanted to go back, but it is closed on Sundays.

Queen City Bakery – Menu with Prices – 324 E 8th St, Sioux Falls

Queen City Bakery is located in what looks like an old factory. The ordering counter is in the middle of a big open space with lots of seating surrounding it. The hubs and I visited for breakfast around 9:30am on a Sunday and did not have to wait to order or find a seat. One of the young women seemed pretty grumpy to be at work, however, the young lady that took our order was friendly and patient while we took our time ordering. Hubby ordered an iced coffee with milk and a sausage quiche. The coffee tasted like straight black coffee and had what looked like coffee ice cubes in it (that was pretty cool). I ordered a chai latte and the veggie quiche. Being a chai tea snob, I wasn’t impressed with the gigantic tea bag sitting in my cup or that it tasted like regular tea with some frothy milk. Although $6 seems pretty expensive for luke warm, mini quiches, they tasted great! Flaky crusts with savory ingredients made for a great combo. Overall, I would probably go back to one of the other pastry places downtown rather than come back to Queen City. Happy eating Yelpers!

Schwart’s deli & grill – Menu with Prices – 1821 Mayo St, Hollywood

First time ordering, so wasn’t sure what to expect- ordered off Uber Eats. Food got here super quick and was all hot, so that was good. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap though- asked for extra lettuce because I tend to experience places like to load it with chicken and there is like no lettuce. Doesn’t seem like they added anything because it was very light on the lettuce, but my main complaint about it is that it was falling apart. They didn’t roll it very tight, and there were no toothpicks to hold it together. I would highly suggest investing in some and training cooks to roll the wraps tighter so they don’t fall apart. Oh also- they put croutons in the wrap…which is horrible and was not on the list of ingredients on their menu otherwise I would have asked to remove them. Fries were good. Ordered a chocolate milkshake that I regret also- tasted like they took chocolate milk and blended it with ice. Was hoping for a thicker shake made from ice cream and milk. Kind of disappointing.

Kung Fu Tea – Menu with Prices – 76 5th Ave, Brooklyn

I been to this milk tea store few times, every time makes me suprise because the drinks that I got was amazing and taste so good. Before it opened, I cannot get any good drinks close by and have to walk a good 15 mins, so glad that it opened in my neighborhood and I can get a drink supper quick and easily. My favorite is always KF Oolong milk tea with Nata Jelly. I cannot even use words to describe how it tastes like, it just fit my taste I believe. Sometimes I will try the slushy, kinda get into the Strawberry milk slush, little bit soul with sweet and its perfectly for summer. Therefore, I highly recommend this place, because its clean and they have nice customer service, I love to chat with them. That’s all I want to share.

Squarz Bakery & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 975 E Elliot Rd #103, Tempe

We tried this place on a Saturday morning due to all the positive reviews. I have to say, I was taken aback by how bad it was. So there’s little to no room inside, it’s basically a few stools at window counters. Not terrible, but don’t bring a big crowd or expect table service. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, Mac n cheese, and a cinnamon roll. As the counter employee explained, everything they sell is made with puff pastry. We were game for that. However, the puff pastry on the two egg/bacon sandwiches was terrible. Burned, and tasted microwaved or something. The texture was awful. Puff pastry is supposed to be light, flakey, this was hard and compressed and too hard to bite into in areas. The Mac and cheese similarly had a burned-looking color. The cinnamon roll again looked and tasted microwaved, you know how pastries get kind of hard and stiff when microwaved. To top it off, we wanted water to drink, and were directed to a 5 gallon self-serve jug. That’s fine, but the Ball glass jars that served as glasses were laying upside-down on a shelf on some sticky, dirty contact paper. Umm, gross. We won’t bother to go here again.

Baklava Coffee and Café – Menu with Prices – 3315 W Carefree Cir, Colorado Springs

So I just went here and I have to say I see why this place has 5 stars. The service was amazing, the lady who owns the place greeted me with a giant smile and a beautiful attitude. I asked questions and changed my order half way through and then decided to add on to it. I was the kind of person that that employees roll their eyes at with my indecisiveness and questions. Through all of it she was gracious and patient. What I ordered . . . If you can’t make up your mind, what do you do? Get everything!!! Lol. But really, that’s what I did. I got a Turkish coffee, Chai Tea and a Turkish Tea. The Turkish coffee was strong but not bitter at all, soft coffee notes and delicate Middle Eastern hints of flavor. The Chai Tea . . . She makes her OWN!! Yes you read that correct! She has her own special blend and it doesn’t not disappoint. Hands down the best Chai Tea I have ever had! Perfectly sweetened with wonderful aromatic chai spices and the perfect ratio of milk. Lastly the Turkish Tea with steamed milk. Beautiful hints of cardamom, lightly sweetened with a tinge of floral essence. Sooooooo good. I’m hooked and clearly sold.
