4/2/19 Ate lunch today: red curry and spicy pork noodle soup. Both were LATE and Terrible! No lemongrass element in the ingredients and lacking the sweet. Just all vinegary and salty. The rice portion was SMALL and HARD. WTHeck happened??! ************************ Update March 2019 I have been here twice more since my last review. I have to admit the food is very good. However, they did not ask for the spicy level on my husband’s Drunken noodle and made it too spicy for him. ************************ I frequented this restaurant when it was Nimmarn, on a weekly basis. I was so happy that it re-opened under new ownership? with a new name? Anyway, we came in at lunch time and ordered 3 dishes: Panang curry lunch special $8.99, Tom Kha Kai shrimp soup $11, and Drunken noodle with pork lunch special $8.99. The soup came out with a large piece of clear PLASTIC in it. The waitress apologized and offered to replace it. I said no worries and ate it anyway. It tasted good. It was served in a large metal pot, not the clay pot like the past restaurant. Plus there was no fire to keep it hot. Strike 2. The other lunches specials were tasty and good. Pork seemed a bit gamely. Was never offered the chili condiments or chopsticks. When getting the bill they gave us the wrong table for only 1 entree. After receiving our actually bill I was vet DISAPPOINTED to see that they still charged me for the plastic soup. Strike 3. I will not go back unless my husband wants to. Too bad because this cost them a ton of business.

Changs Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 3620 N Freeway Blvd #310, Sacramento

So this has been our go to for Thai food in Natomas since we first tried it when they opened. We been here a few times already. So far we had Drunken Noodle, seafood salad, spicy seafood, Thai friend rice and basil fried rice, and maybe some others I can’t remember. We order everything Thai Hot. They were all delicious, spicy, and full of Thai flavor! Lots of protein and portion size was great! But the best part??? How authentic and flavorful everything was! That’s why I love Thai food, lots of delicious flavor! I can’t have my Thai food watered down! Now, we tried all the Thai spots in Natomas, and each spot has something different that we liked. Most weren’t perfect, but close enough. I used to have a diff spot for drunken noodle, basil chicken, basil fried rice, boat noodle soup, etc. Now that I found Chang’s, I haven’t been back to any of them except one for my noodle soups! But I’m hoping Chang’s start offering Boat Noodle Soup or Tom Yum noodle soup soon! I’m super picky about my Thai food because I’ve had the best of the best in SoCal, Bay Area, and Thai Temples. I like my Thai food authentic and not watered down. Im most picky about my Pad Thai, so I haven’t tried Chang’s pad Thai, yet, in fear of disappointment. But I will. I plan on trying a lot of other stuff, and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed bc so far everything has been perfect! We haven’t actually ate at the restaurant, but they have always been super nice and accommodating over the phone. Very friendly when we pick up as well. We had a lot of spots in Natomas get our orders wrong, but Chang’s haven’t gotten any of our orders wrong, yet… hoping they continue this streak! Tonight, we are having Drunken Noodle and Basil Fried Rice again!!! I’m telling you guys, they have the best!!! :))))

Mama’s Kitchen Taiwanese Food – Menu with Prices – 10820 Abbotts Bridge Rd, Duluth

My absolute favorite ever since I moved to John’s Creek. They have not disappointed me yet! (Located inside johns creek hmart food court, alllll the way in the corner) Seafood noodle soup (spicy or not spicy) – delicious and portion is pretty big! All their noodles soups a pretty good. My fav is the seafood. They also have beef, pork and preserved veggie and with option of regular noodle or rice noodle. Fried pork chop on rice – portion is huge and pork chop is seasoned very well. Very savory dish Boiled pork dumplings – very flavorful and bursting with juice and meat inside Taiwanese style spicy boiled fish – slightly pricier than their other menu items, but worth it. Very aromatic and delicious Taiwanese rice noodle (curry or regular) – also a must try item. It’s just plain good. Chicken nuggets: ok, I might have lied when I said I haven’t been disappointed. I got the nuggets once and found it to be very dry. Maybe over fried? But it’s ok, I’m willing to overlook it because everything else I ordered was great. A lot more items to try on the menu and they have a vegetarian menu too! I’m actually sitting here waiting on my fish dumplings and noodle soup as I write this….

Tup Tim Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 3860 Commercial St SE, Salem

I am impressed with all of the food I have had from here. I was pretty discouraged with most of the Thai places in Salem. I am pretty spoiled with a good selection in the Eugene area. My Aunt suggested this place, and said their drunken noodles are good. I usually judge a Thai restaurant on how well they make their drunken noodles. If they make a great drunken noodle, then most of the time everything else tastes up to par as well. Their drunken noodle are really good. Not the best I have had, but still pretty dang good. 2 star is plenty of spice. They also have nampula on the table for those of you daring to want your food a little more spicy. My boys always order 4, or five star. So they were fine with what they had. I ended eating here two days in a row. Once dining in, the other we had ubereats.com I tried their pad Thai, crispy spring rolls, drunken noodles, chili basil, and crispy won tons. All of which were delicious. Even being delivered. It is really hard to impress this Thai food junky. I would return again when I am up in the area. I am glad my Aunt recommended this place.

Old Taro Taiwanese Noodle – Menu with Prices – 4370 Thornton Ave, Fremont

One of my (and my mom’s) favorite beef noodle soup places ever! It’s definitely a hole in the wall, so usually on weekdays there is no wait. Occasionally, on weekends during lunch there will be a wait – a lot of families love the lamb hot pots (?), and it’s very family friendly. The place is not big, there are probably only 10 tables total, with 4 seats at each table. The spicy beef noodle soup is so good – it reminds me a lot of beef noodle soups found in Taiwan, and they give 3-4 pieces of meat in each bowl. They also offer the sour mustard greens é?¸è? and hot sauce on the side. Personally, I don’t add anymore hot sauce – it’s spicy enough for me. And recently, they just added “thick” noodles that look like handmade noodles. I love thicker noodles, the texture is much chewier than the original thin noodle. Occasionally, I get the plate of pork ears, since I like to dip them in hot sauce. Price of a bowl of beef noodle soup is $10.25 right now, which is similar to other beef noodle places around Fremont. I come here probably once a week or so, sometimes more. I just got it yesterday for take-out, and I know for a fact I’ll be getting lunch here again in 2 days. The service isn’t amazing, but it’s very efficient. I don’t expect great service at small, family run places like these though. There is no decor, but prices are decent, food is pretty great, and service is efficient. I highly recommend giving the beef noodle soup a try.

Sang’s Imperial Cafe – Menu with Prices – 4650 Corona Dr, Corpus Christi

Ate there last night with nephew #1 and #3. Because of road construction (all done) I hadn’t been there in too long. Service was friendly and spot on. My tea glass was never dry. I ate the Paht Phet (hope I spelled that correctly). It is a red curry. I had the chicken. It was off the charts delicious. Loaded with green beans, mushrooms and tender bamboo shoots. I chose spicy level 4 (1-6) which was perfect for me and is spicy. Both nephews had noodle dishes. One a vegetarian bowl with tofu and the other a noodle dish with beef – Hang Bang… (something, sorry that I can’t remember). The servings are large and delicious. I’m ready to go back. They have a yellow curry that is screaming my name. Be ready for a large menu of choices! A wonderful dining experience.

Phnom Penh Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1010 N Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls

We have not been to a Cambodian restaurant before, so Phnom Penh Restaurant caught our attention. In this case their menu also includes Chinese and Thai dishes as well. But my focus was on the Cambodian Cuisine as I don’t remember any back home. We’ve had plenty of Chinese and Thai food and while there are some similarities, it’s not like any dish I’ve had before. After a long day on the road we decided to get takeout to enjoy in our hotel room. Since we noted many photos on Yelp, my wife ordered the Khmer Style Chicken Curry Soup with Noodles. I decided to try Steamed Amok with Minced Pork with Steamed Rice based on the description as there were no photos. We also ordered a Steamed Pork Bun just because. The Chicken Curry Soup was put in a sturdy plastic container with the Noodles packaged in a separate container to be added before serving. The Steamed Amok was in a plastic container on top of the Banana Leaf it was steamed in with the Steamed Rice in a separate container. I thought both were excellent and not overly spicy although you could request more spice if that’s your thing. Both dishes had a bit of a sweet taste and the curry taste was subtle and not overpowering. Since we didn’t eat at the restaurant, I can’t comment about service. The young lady who took our order was friendly and professional and answered any questions we had about the menu. Our order came out after about ten minutes and nothing leaked on our drive to the hotel. Oh, and clean restrooms!

Noodle House – Menu with Prices – 4800 Baseline Rd A-110, Boulder

One of the more authentic places for Asian food in Boulder–this is exactly what I’ve been looking for in this town. And the boss lady is an absolute gem! The restaurant is extremely clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The name of the restaurant is Noodle House, but they also serve hot pot–seems like it’s the only place in Boulder that does. They have lunch specials daily for both noodle dishes and hot pot combos too. My boyfriend and I got the beef noodle soup with the house noodles. The house noodles are delicious–you can taste the homemade freshness through the texture and consistency of the noodles. The beef noodle soup is flavored nicely and in a very authentic way. The mild spicy has the perfect amount of kick to it. The beef is also cooked to a tender perfection. Super flavorful and well seasoned. The only thing I didn’t love about the beef noodle soup is the fact that it includes broccoli instead of something more traditional like bok choy, but honestly this is all around a decent bowl of beef noodle soup. Not Taiwanese style, but good. The owner is the sweetest woman and honestly feels like a mother figure with how kind she was. Can’t wait to come back and try the hot pot when it gets a bit cooler. Noodle House, you’ve won my heart.

Thai Fusion Northland – Menu with Prices – 5260 Northland Dr NE suite d, Grand Rapids

Thai Fusion on Northland has pretty decent menu and slowly become one my favorite nearby takeout joints. It isn’t my favorite Thai restaurant in town, but it’s definitely an asset to the Plainfield/Northland area which is pretty sparse on non-chain food options, so I will try to leave a mostly positive review with that in mind. I’d been the original Thai Fusion (on Breton Rd. I believe) and I remember being blown away by their Tom Ghe soup and I had a super delicious curry dish. I’ve mostly sampled their noodle stir-fry dishes at this location, with good experiences every time. They do a very solid Pad Thai and Cury Noodle dishes, but the best one Ive had yet was their Drunken Noodle. I can’t put my finger on why, but that one was stellar. The hotness scale is from 1-5. I’m very tolerant of YUGE spice, like I grew up eating habanero sauce on my eggs every morning, and I don’t go over this place’s 3 (medium hot) level. Every Thai place has a different scale, but this place jumps up in spice pretty vastly with each level, so better safe than sorry, especially if you don’t eat spicy food every nearly every day like i do. Anyway, if this place were downtown, Id give it a 3. But since it’s way out here in the boonies and Im very stoked about that, I will be much more forgiving and grateful. Their prices and restaurant service is great too. They have a lot of options so I’ll never get bored and their food quality sure beats the not-so-good Thai restaurant that used to be in this exact spot (Rák Thai).

Rangzen Tibetan Place – Menu with Prices – 24 Pearl St, Cambridge

Came here for the lunch buffet with two friends on a Friday around 11:30AM, which is when the place opens. For a rainy day, the place was relatively quiet and then quickly became packed with customers!! Since it was our first time, I’m not sure if the menu for the buffet changes every so often but the line of food offered was impressive and quite a delicious quality selection! You grab a plate, next to which you’ll also find the hot green tea and milk tea offered ready with raw cane sugar and lemon slices to add according to your taste. There was also a hot lentil soup (they later brought out a tomato basil soup that I didn’t get to try). They arrange a number of cold salads on the left hand side, which included a cabbage slaw, chickpea kale salad, a pickled “kimchi-like” side dish (maybe to go along with the veggie momos?), a spicy chili oil- bitter melon side dish, and more. I got to try a little bit of everything and they were all very fresh and considerately made! Hot items included curry chicken, basmati rice, potato + cauliflower curry, chicken + mushroom, double-cooked pork with a braised chayote, veggie momos, steamed tofu + napa cappage, and a lo-main noodle-like item with peanut sauce. All were really delicious and appropriately seasoned (not salty or really greasy like how most awful Chinese buffets can be). I’ve never had Tibetan food before and this was a nice, inoffensive introduction. Finally, you had the option of eating freshly-cut fruits for dessert. Overall, an excellent spread of choices that allow meat-eaters and vegetarians to find tasty and suitable options! The bill came out to a little under $16 per person which I think is definitely reasonable since I came out of there STUFFED! Of note, the wait staff were VERY attentive to our tables, cleaning plates and refilling our cups of water frequently and kindly (totally non-intrusive or bothersome)! It was an awesome dining experience.

Thai Oudone Valley Grill LLC – Menu with Prices – 5983 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke

Oh I almost hate to rave about this restaurant as it’s the best kept secret in Botetourt County & I selfishly don’t want it to get too busy! Right across from Read Mountain Fire & Rescue, this privately owned restaurant has the best Massaman Curry Chicken (and great Pad Thai). If you aren’t a fan of spicy food, make sure you tell them! They really do cook to order. They use a “pepper” rating, 1 pepper is slightly spicy (though my best friend says “more than slightly”.) I’ve ordered the Massaman Curry with “3 peppers” (& had to drink milk with it!) And I LOVE spicy food! Totally worth it!

Nak Won Jung Korean Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1010 S 10th St a, McAllen

My gf and I visit this place for the first time, well at least for me. As soon as you walk in it transports you to another country. Loved the way it looks inside. I tried the black bean noodle soup on recommendation from my gf and i was so in shock when it was brought to me. The noodles are authentic and as soon as I got a bite from my noodles I fell in love with it. My gf had the spicy noodle soup and I tried that as well. And I got to say IT WAS SPICY everything was so delicious. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Wen’s noodle and Ramen è¿???? – Menu with Prices – 145 Tremont St, Boston

Saw this place one time while walking to some event. This time me and my friend actually decided to grab food instead of drinks then we went to the movies after. I forgot where it was closer to walk from so we walked from south station and then just googled our way to the place. We found the place after walking for like 6 mins to the place. We got seated right away since they don’t have a line yet so we went on a perfect timing around the time we got there. Sat down got some water and ordered maybe after like 5 mins. I got the pork ramen and my friend got the curry over rice. My food was good. It wasn’t as hot as what I expected but I think it’s better than burning your tongue when you eat in a hurry if your hungry or something. I love that they have corn in the soup too. The noodle wasn’t salty. It has the perfect amount of flavor, not over powering which is the usual for noodles or something. The broth is good and not salty as well. The whole serving is just enough for one person. I’m surprised I was able to finish it when I usually don’t finish the noodles if I order soup like pho. My friends curry was also good. It was on the spicy side but she loves spicy so it was perfect for her. She actually added some red pepper flakes on it as well. I tried some of the meat but it’s too spicy for me if I ate more. Planning to come back with other friends in a few weeks! I’ll probably try some other selections on the menu when I come back for some variety of taste!
