This is easily my favorite drive-up coffee place in Eugene. They make great drinks (I love the Raspberry Truffle and the Dirty Chai), and the baristas are always very sweet and professional. They are just around the corner from my house – I’ve been frequenting this place for nearly 3 years now and have not yet had a negative experience or a bad cup of coffee. I’m pretty picky about customer service and I’ve always been impressed with Java Generations.

Little Java Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3425 Winton Pl, Rochester

I’m shocked on 2 things about Little Java, first no reviews by any yelpers even though it’s been around for 4 years! Secondly, and maybe why, there seems to be no business, and I’m curious to how Little Java can maintain to be open. Having being in the parking lot dozens of times for my favorite Beers of the World, I saw the smoothie sign and decided to give it a shot. Located in the middle of parking lot of Winton Place, it caters to a mostly drive-thru customer. Not waiting to stare at the menu as I sat in my car I decided to park and go in. Well, this isn’t a coffee shop like Starbucks that you can sit around and use Wifi for hours. There is one table. Pretty much need to grab your cup and go. They seemed to have your basic offerings of coffees, teas, expressos and my guilty pleasure, Smoothies. I’m not a coffee drinker, so I’m not reviewing that, they apparently brew Caffe Darte’s coffee(?) though. For smoothies, they have about 5-6 flavors, and impressed that is wasn’t all purrees. Granted it was frozen fruit, but I’ve been to wayyyy too many places that doesn’t use any resemblance of fruit at all. It took a few minutes to get it, but it is well worth the $4 and change it costs. They filled it past the cup and up thru the dome top and even put pieces of full frozen fruit on top! I’ve been back twice, and is my pick for best smoothies in the city!

Grab-A-Java – Menu with Prices – 3115 Hedley Rd, Springfield

My Saturday morning stop at Grab A Java is something that I look forward to all week long. Their coffee is fantastic and their iced soy latte is one of the best cups of coffee that I’ve ever tasted. As a self proclaimed coffee addict, I’ve had my fair share of caffeine and Grab A Java is near the top of my list of favorites. I only wish they had more places to sit besides one small outdoor table so that I could spend all my time there sipping on my cup of happiness.

Kakawa Chocolate House – Menu with Prices – 1050 Paseo De Peralta, Santa Fe

I was so excited to visit Kakawa Chocolate House and, though the experience itself was fun, the hot chocolate and chocolate truffles definitely aren’t your run of the mill stuff. I appreciate that the staff immediately asked me if I had been before, and when I said no, gave me several samples of the hot chocolate so I could pick which one I wanted with confidence. That was a huge thing for me and is the reason I’m giving three stars instead of two. Generally, all of the chocolates are much less sweet than we’re likely used to, but I liked how the lax of sweetness showcased the flavor of the cocoa. That being said, I had the tiny mug with whipped cream and can’t imagine stomaching a large mug. The truffles are unique and gorgeous, but, again, the flavors concentrate more on the cocoa and less on the sweetness. I found the raspberry truffle quite bitter, but thought the goat cheese truffle was a bit more palatable and enjoyable. Overall, Kakawa offers a unique experience where you can try native and meso American chocolates and elixirs, but, sadly, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re tasty.

LaJava Roasting House – Menu with Prices – 2422 W Mason St, Green Bay

Whilst on my whirl wind 2 day vacation in Wisconsin, my sleep deprivation was about to take over my mind body and soul. That was until I stumbled across Jolted Java. A small drive through coffee stand to the eye but a island of java goodness to the soul. After breakfast at IHOP earlier that morning where I had to practically hold my nose and sip their less than mediocre coffee, I needed a good cup of joe. I had their hazel nut blend coffee, black. Since I no longer take sugar or cream with my coffee, quality beans make all the difference. I am so so glad I found this little gem right outside of the Super Walmart! When I return to the great state of Wisconsin, I will be going here for my daily cup of coffee!

Cheers Coffee Shop – Menu with Prices – 2418 S Colorado Blvd, Denver

So what’s with this? I went in and nobody knew my name. . . . Not very Cheers-like if ya ask me. But still the barista could not have been nicer. The coffee was robust (but not robusta). The raspberry pastry was flaky, in the good sense of the word, and this newly opened coffee shop along South Colorado turns out to be the real deal. It provides a large open workspace-friendly environment. Good for meet-ups, working or just hangin’ with some of that jumpin’ java juice, that liquid sunshine, God’s caffeine kickoleeta (of which I have apparently had enough). Sign me, Dahhhhhhhhhhhhh-a-vid Mmmm.

Calusa Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 161 E Commercial Blvd, Oakland Park

We’ve been getting our coffee here for years- at first Steve owned it, now Luis has taken over. Clearly Luis has the knack as the place just keeps getting better. They have ruined us on coffee because we loath drinking anything else. We normally buy the beans and make it at home. They have introduced a reusable coffee storage system that we refill for a discount. We love the environmental thoughtfulness they put into the business in addition to the killer coffee and yummy snacks. My favorite is mocha java, but I am pretty sure we have tried everything and loved it all. Come by for coffee and conversation. There’s always something fun and delicious to discover!!

Javahz Cafe Espresso – Menu with Prices – 4330 W El Prado Blvd, Tampa

A wonderful throwback to the neighborhood, Mom N’ Pop coffee shop and Breakfast hang-out of days gone by. The fact that the food is excellent (Three-meat breakfast burrito) and the coffee is delicious (I had the French Roast Blend) just adds icing on the cake. Sure, when they are packed with customers it takes a little while to get your order, but everything is fresh-made. Nothing is sitting under a heat lamp or waiting to be tossed into a microwave! The owner told me they have been in that location for over 15 years, so obviously, quality counts and they have a loyal customer base. If you’re in South Tampa and want some excellent Java, stop by Ja-Vahz for a great, mellow, time.

Pesce & Pasta Italian Fusion Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 2022 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY LACK HOSPITALITY! I have never been so disgusted from the treatment from any restaurant. My mother was visiting me from New York for two days and really wanted to go here so she made a reservation for 7 people about a MONTH ago! We had people fly down from NY and drive from West Palm, Fort Lauderdale, and Dania Beach just to meet up at this one place for dinner. When we got there, the manager refused to seat us because my uncle had left a negative review on valentines day. The manager said “by posting a negative review he had disrespected the restaurant so we were not welcome”. He had previously informed us about his experience when we made the reservation but was willing to give it another chance… I’ve worked in the restaurant business for almost 10 years now and if anyone has ever had a negative experience, we ALWAYS try to prove ourselves instead refusing service!!!! This was the most unprofessional and ridiculous thing I have ever heard!! Quality of service is HALF the experience of dining.

Juicery Plus – Menu with Prices – 201 E Main St, El Paso

Came here for a late lunch one day. It is kind of hidden inside a business building but it is across the street from the coffee box. I love the style and set up as well as the vegan take on everything. The place looks very clean and modern. The first thing I say were pumpkin looking bars in the front and I knew I had to try it. It was very good! I think it was the perfect amount of pumpkin and the glaze added a good touch. I would definitely recommend getting it warmed up but I like my pastries warm. We ordered the truffle pizza and the poke bowl with salmon. The poke bowl was good. I wish it had more vegetable or something else to add to it because it was rice, tomato/vegetable mix, avocado, and the sauce. Maybe ask for something else to be added? Other than that it was very good and I was pleasantly surprised how good the salmon was. We were struggling to decide between the truffle pizza and the truffle burger (I am obsessed with truffle flavor right now haha). The waitress said that the pizza was one of her favorites so I went with that. It came out and looked very good. The red sauce has a different flavor to it. It was a little weird at first and I wasn’t sure if I liked it but it grew on me. I didn’t think it had nearly enough sauce or truffle though. I asked for a side of the garlic aioli and truffle cream to add more and that definitely helped a lot. I wouldn’t order this again personally. Maybe next time the truffle burger. I also heard that the thai raw noodles and the benedict are very good so I will be back to try more!

Gold Cup Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 10805 NE Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver

Gold Cup! Welcome To Vancouver! It Amazes Me All Of The Coffee Shops That Pop Up To Contend With The Likes Of The Larger Chain Coffee Destinations. However, I Appreciate & Am Glad That There Are Java Bean Juice Creators Out That Have A Passion For The Craft & Are Willing To Compete With The Big Corps. Having Said That, I Think Gold Cup Will Be Around For A While. Not All Java Junkies Are Compelled To Spend Their Java Bean Green At The Big Corps. And When You Present In An Area That Is Prime For Something New, Something Different & Convenient With Regards To Options, A Large Part Of The Battle Is Conquered. Next Piece To The Puzzle, Whatever Services, Product Or Goods You Are Presenting, Must Be Good, Must Be Competitive. And, The Packaging (Facility) Must Be Conducive To Providing All The Other Accommodations/Amenities That The Competition Exhibits. For Me, Gold Cup Delivered! And Did/Does So Very Well. There Is A Decent Amount Of Parking At Their Location. The Facility Itself Is Visibly Appealing Internally. From Any Of The Seating, You Can See All Other Areas Of GC. One Exception, There Was One Area/Room, Possibly A Meeting/Conference Room (Great Idea) That Was Separated From The Rest Of The Customer & Bar Area. Quite A Few Bar Stools, Couple Of Tables, Nicely Spaced For A Comfortable, Inviting Feel. Homie Type Environment For The Local Clientele. My Drink, White Chocolate Mocha, Half Sweet, Was Made Perfectly To My Specifications. What I Am Talking About Mainly Here Is That I Could Distinguish The Coffee In The Drink. It Flaunted A Strong, Distinguishable Flavor That Wasn’t Muddled Over By The Milk Or Sweetness Of The Syrup. Always A Win In My Book! I Did Not Ask Nor Determine What Java Legumes They Used To Juice Me & The Rest Of The Patrons Up. Will Do So Next Trip. If You Beat Me There, Let Me Know. I Did Not Chose Any Pastries During My Visit So I Cannot Speak On That Area Of Goods Provided. In My Book, Vancouver Has A Winner! Check Out Gold Cup & See For Yourself ;-{ 4 Rating For Now, 1 Visit.

Barbie’s Daylight Donuts – Menu with Prices – 11814 Indiana Ave, Lubbock

I got the cherry pecan fritter. Wasn’t bad though I personally favor apple fritter after trying the cherry pecan fritter. I couldn’t tell you about the donuts. The coffee brand there is from a local roaster called Sunrise Coffee, I think. The blends they have included “Cowboy”,(a dark roast), “Governor’s Cup” (medium roast), and “Breakfast Blend” (another medium roast, I think). They didn’t have “Sumatra”. My experience, service-wise, was perfunctorily cordial, at best. I wasn’t very impressed but it wasn’t a terrible place either. I think if the men that worked there smiled a little more and may lightened up a tad, the overall experience would be a little more enjoyable. If you like hard-rock music, then you’d enjoy the station that was being played there. My guess is they get more drive-thru business than walk-ins. It is in an area that is still developing so I guess there’s not much customer traffic, but it has been open a couple of years so I can’t provide too much excuse. ð???

Midtown Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 1342 13th St, Columbus

My wife and I have been here several times in the past and felt it was some of the best quality coffee in town. Unfortunately I ordered a drink on a slow day and after 30 minutes and finishing our food I had still not got my coffee. When I went up and asked if my OIR over coffee was ready they handed it to me and said that it might be cold. It was in fact room temperature by that time. They offered to remake it however I had to go and she looked at me blankly and without apology. I asked if I could at least get a regular cup of coffee and she poured me a cup of drip coffee and walked away with no interest in making it right. I am disappointed because the price difference was twice as much but more importantly it was a complete lack of caring, attention to detail and customer service on a slow business day. I would not recommend this coffee house again. I hope they fix the customer service…
