I’ve been to the location on Franklin and have had good experiences there. I was excited to see that they had opened a new location and I was down on Broadway, so I thought “why not?”. We were pretty promptly seated, it was around 2:00 pm on a Friday, not very many other customers. Pros: I actually liked the interior. I saw another review that criticized it saying it hadn’t changed much, but I thought it looked nice inside. Def not very Mexican vibe, but who am I to say what is and isn’t Mexican. I’m white. The waitress was initially very nice. Cons: We waited 10 minutes without any chips and salsa. Our waitress brought out our drinks and even commented on it, saying “Oh I’ll go grab that for you.” Never returned with them. 5 more minutes go by and another waitress/busser notices we don’t have any and immediately goes and grabs us some. Our drinks were empty from about halfway through our meal until we left. Never once offered a refill. The food was overly salty and my chicken tasted way overcooked. The meat was tough instead of tender and juicy. The waitress was more interested in the table of good looking guys (I semi don’t blame her), but she checked on us only once and it was super in passing. (Sorry Samantha, I know the guys were cute, but I would have tipped 20% had you paid attention to us.) Lastly, the flan was gross. I’m not a fan of chocolate covered flan, I much prefer just the caramel type but that’s not the issue. The issue is it was gritty, chunky, and maybe still kinda frozen? It wasn’t creamy at all. I struggled to get through it. I left a little note on the back of the receipt before I left. Honestly, I wanted to ask for a refund but it seemed like too much of a hassle. Avoid this place, go to the one on Franklin. Or if that’s too far out of your way, Casa Mexico up on Federal Way is good too.

Pasteleria Raquel – Menu with Prices – 1521 E Grand Ave #3512, Des Moines

Trying to find good desserts is HELL Most are too sweet and caloric as WELL But I found the best, and I’ll kiss and TELL Go and get a pastry from RAQUEL Better than Bruce Lee and Jackie CHAN Better than your weekend Spa PLAN Better than your secret lover MAN Come to Raquel, and try her FLAN! What to get: Flan, Tres Leches Cake, everything. What not to get: The Flan in the face, the flan in the face, the flan in the face. Owned by Raquel Welch, rather than Racquel Darrian (I know her from the old days), this is an absolutely delightful Mexican Bakery in the little Latin neighbourhood to the west of the Capitol in Des Moines, IA. Situated in a part of town with some really awesome Latin food, this is probably my favourite little spot in the area. It’s named after – and run by – a wonderful woman making homemade cakes and Mexican desserts and doing them really really well. Especially the Flan, which she told me she is famous for – and oh my goodness it was amazing. They also have a wonderful tres leches cake, and everything in the place is basically delicious – especially if you already like Mexican desserts, because this place does them very very well. Des Moines has some real food gems and some nice surprises, and this little area – and in particular this little family-owned Homestyle Mexican bakery – is the absolute epitome of how underrated and great and diverse the Des Moines food scene can be if you know where to look. Speaking of knowing where to look, I’ll PM you my number.

Panaderia Mi Pueblo Menu with Prices 8401 Richmond Hwy F, Alexandria

I got a concha from a nearby Mexican to compare the quality of conchas. OMG. The chocolate concha from this place definitely wins! You might argue that it’s not fair to compare a plain concha with a chocolate concha, but I must say even the pan alone tastes way better! I agree this is the best concha I have ever tasted! (While I was in the store, a man came in and got half a dozen conchas!) I have also got a flan – the last one from the store. I went to two different Mexican bakeries and they all had plenty of flans left, so I know this bakery’s flan must be good. I was right! THE BEST FLAN EVER! Just as good or even better than the ones I have tried in Argentina and Chile! The chef gave me a sanpkw pan leche (sweet bread.) I think it has corn and cheese in it. It is sweet, firm and has a hint of savory cheese. Really, really good. The chef has a limited facility in English, so I am going to bring my phone with me next time so that I can have her speak to the phone and have Google Translate to translate for me because I would like to know more about the bread here. It’s so good! I have also bought a banana bread that I will have for breakfast and write a review on it.

Maddi’s Cookery & TapHouse – Menu with Prices – 64 Water St, Worcester

Wanted to love this place but it just wasn’t meant to be… *Writing this review after I contacted the restaurant over a week ago and received no response from anyone about the experience we had. Arrived on a Thursday evening and was seated outside which was great, it was our monthly girls night and for four moms a night out is rare. We were ready to get our drink, eat and convo on. Our waitress was Samantha, who seemed all but thrilled to be waiting on us the whole night. We let Samantha know that we were going to be enjoying some drinks before ordering and just catching up with each other (no intention to be table hogs, or those people who chill for hours and have a $20 tab) It took about 20min for our first drinks to come out and from there about 30 additional minutes for each round. They ran out of the alcohol for three of our drinks as well. Each time that she (Samantha) came over to ask for our order she was visibly annoyed that we were not yet ready to decide. A simple “no problem” or “wave me down when you are” would have gone a long way. We eventually ordered an app about 45min into our visit: the pretzels and cheese dip. They were a 50/50; The pretzels were great, soft, fluffy. The cheese not so much… it was dry and cold and you couldn’t just dip into it, you had to scoop it out. Between us all, to share, we ordered a caesar salad, poutine steak fries and crispy gauc. Caesar was ok, not the best or worst I’ve ever had. Fries were luke warm, the cheese had already hardened when it got to the table. The flavor wasn’t bad and Im sure these would have been fabulous if they came to the table nice and hot. The guac…oh the guac. I forget what the actual name of this starter was since its not listed on the menu they have posted online. As an avid guacamole lover and someone who makes this at least once a week at home I jumped when everyone wanted to order it. It was the biggest disappointment of the night. “Deconstructed” guac. It was one half of an avocado fried/tempura on top of all the ingredients for a regular guacamole dish. We were confused as to why it was only 1/2 of an avo, or how we were supposed to eat this so one of us mashed it up. The chips served with it are super thin, yummy but just not the best for picking up any type of dip with consistency. We basically paid for DIY gaucamole… but 1/2. At this time we were ready for the check. It had been about two hours, we had received three drinks with the long waits in-between, the food was a C, B- at best for us, the attitude from our server was uncomfortable. They run your cards at the table which i guess could be a positive thing during busy times but was just awkward after the service we received and having to run four cards. Our bill was just under $200 and all of us tipped the 20%. We enjoyed some fabulous drinks and service next door at Lock50 to end our night. Overall we were all very excited to try Maddi’s, we’ve heard great things about it, but that just wasn’t the case. So maybe its an inconsistency issue, which some of the reviews for this establishment lean towards. Either way I took the time to contact the restaurant management to give them feedback and to not be one of those people who jump online and bash without giving them the proper opportunity to correct it and those inquires went unanswered. So while I would love to give Maddi’s another chance I’d rather spend my hard earned money and my once a month dinner date with my mom friends at a place that we know is great and consistent each time we visit.

Treehouse Restaurant and Pub Menu with Prices 7 Kings Cir NE, Atlanta

Don’t waste your time, with so many good restaurants in the Atlanta this one is a complete waste of time. I went with a couple friends the other night. Decent service at first. My food and one of my buddies food came out and we thought “well the runner only has two hands” so the last food should be out any second. Ten minutes later we flag down the food runner and ask where the last place of food is. He looks dumbfounded and says he will check. The waitress runs down to us and says something about the system having an accept button and it didn’t get placed but is being cooked right now. No apologies offered, but she did ask if we wanted another round of drinks (I would have thought she would have said, “let me treat you to a around.”) Another 15 minutes goes by still no food. My buddy decides it isn’t worth waiting anymore and goes inside to tell the waitress to cancel his food since everyone else is already done with dinner. Side note I got the wicked burger and it was completely flavorless. How do you make bland pimento cheese?!? Anyways the owner was shooting the breeze with a couple of guys sitting inside and asked if there was a problem, and my friend told them what happened and he didn’t seem like it was a big deal, THEN LEFT the building. At this point the food is finally coming out and my friend refuses the food, which I guess annoyed them but now it’s been almost an hour and we are ready to go. The waitress hands us the check and it still includes the food that never arrived and we tell the waitress and she gets pissed off at us! She got mad and stormed off and refused to talk to us. So then we are dealing with the bartender and he messes the bill up 2 more times! It took us an additional 30 minutes just to pay the bill and leave. First and last time I will ever darken that doorway! So many better places than this dump! To the rude waitress: grow up and accept when you have made a mistake. Getting pissed off at someone else for your mistakes shows how terrible of a waitress you are….

Los Bellos Portales – Menu with Prices – 108 Columbia NE Dr # A, Columbia

I have a problem, I generally love Mexican food and Los Bellos claims to have authentic Mexican food so of course I’m going to try it. When we went to the place it looked close, there was only one other couple sitting in the restaurant that seats about 40 on a Friday night. Still we decided to get a seat anyhow and ordered six dishes off the la carte menu, a couple tacos, a tamale, and an empanada. And then we waited, and waited, and waited… After what appeared to be 45 minutes our food started to come out one dish at a time. I know you want me to tell you how the food is, but first I have to say one thing the server/host was super friendly and created a wonderful atmosphere as we waited for our food making the wait a little more pleasant. And now the food was a mixed bag on the one hand it was extremely authentic and very good, and on the other hand he came out very slow, and still then on the other hand or should I say foot, there was a bug in the lettuce of my empanada. I didn’t want to bring that up the bug issue, because the food was fantastic this service is very good and the handling of the problem (the bug,) was handled very well. I’m only giving Los Bellos three stars and would’ve given them four stars if not for the bug issue. I would’ve never thought that I give a restaurant such a high rating. After having a bug in my food but, Los Bellos has some of the best authentic Mexican food in Columbia, South Carolina. There was one other problem that I did not mention. The oil in their the fryer needed to be changed. I did feel like this was a major issue other than the food having a bit of an after taste. So even though this is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I will not be back to me the bug in my food is enough of an issue to keep me away. However, I might just try them again if some other yelpers have some positive reviews, so let me know.

Little Cancun (Bayview) – Menu with Prices – 3040 S Delaware Ave, Milwaukee

As of today the phone number on this yelp page is incorrect. It’s the number for their Franklin location. I had a good experience at this restaurant last time we ate there so I decided to call in a take out order. But when I got there I found out the order was actually placed at the Franklin location. Sadly the woman who assisted me (possibly a manager) acted like it was my fault. She didn’t apologize after I showed her the incorrect number listed. Didn’t offer to rush my order after I put another one in nor compensate me in anyway (all I wanted was a I’m sorry we’ll make sure to fix that listing). So overall not great customer service at all. The food is good, but not good enough for this experience not to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Masa Sushi Japanese Cuisine Gilbert – Menu with Prices – 865 N Gilbert Rd, Gilbert

This place has always been friendly and the food has always been awesome. My wife and I have been coming here since they have opened. I have never once received horrible service until yesterday. I want to be clear that this is an individual thing and that I truly believe this place is awesome. Our waitress was a rather young but was nice enough when she sat us at a table. She gave us her menus and got our drinks. We gave her order and our food came promptly. Then we never saw her again until it was time to pay. Dirty dishes on the table, no refills, not even a hey how are you guys doing. Just for the sake of curiosity and mind you 10 minutes it passed already I started my stopwatch. An additional 20 minutes past with not so much as a glance our direction. Another waitress noticed that no one had paid attention to us, came over cleared our table and asked how we were doing. We were probably going to have a couple more sake bombers and watch the end of the baseball game but at this point I just ask for the check. Oh there’s our waitress again she literally walked by our table and threw my bill on the table without saying a word. I love this place and we’ll go here again but this is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had eating here. I will just make sure that I am not service by this waitress again.

Rock n Roll Sushi Pensacola – Menu with Prices – 1531 E 9 Mile Rd A-6, Pensacola

If I could give this place zero stars I would . To start we waited 10 minutes at the door while the waitresses sat in the corner only to be told we could sit anywhere we want . When we sat down we waited about 10 minutes to take our drinks and put in our app. After 15 minutes we finally got our drinks and she took our order. At this time we have waited 30 minutes and our drinks were completely empty and she was still standing in a corner talking . at about 45 minutes waiting for our food she finally comes over and refills our drinks and gives us a coupon for 50% off our next purchase but it only had a $10 max limit . You can’t even get a roll for under that price . at that point we were really irritated . After waiting an HOUR she comes up to us and says hey this table just left and I thought y’all could eat on this while you wait . I thought it was a kind gesture but one of the rolls on the plate was one of the rolls my friend ordered but the waitress inferred us that we wouldn’t be charged for the free sushi she brought . after an hour and 15 minutes she finally brings our rolls and she brought me my two but my friend only one roll and she said I brought the one because you already had your other roll on the plate THE FREE FOOD SHE GAVE US THAT WE SHARED! So she didn’t get her other roll she was promised and paid $30 for terrible service and my rolls were barely kept together. I am a waitress and I always understand circumstances but this was unacceptable and we will not be back. Its sad because this use to be our place but y’all need better time management and better staff.

Brigitte’s Bakery – Menu with Prices – 27 N Front St #200, Memphis

I’ve gotten three excellent tres leches birthday cakes from here over the past three years: Tangled, Hello Kitty, and just a colorful one. I want to get the Despicable Me one and the Baby Tigger n Baby Pooh one for my next birthdays but I think I will try a different type of cake if they have them as I’ve had enough tres leches for awhile. My new favorite type of cake is a tres leches chocolate cake with flan on top. Combined with their awesome decorations I’ll have an awesome cake next year as well. They almost always serve their cakes on time and if they are off (which has only happened once) they will give you a coupon discounting off the next cake that doesn’t expire. We got that coupon last year and used it this year. Their bread is pretty standard but my husband seems to like it the best. I don’t eat it much and it all tastes the same to me, but this is for sure where I will always go for authentic Mexican cakes for my birthdays. When I do eat it though, it’s pretty amazing. I recently gave their Chile con Queso a try and was surprised by how much I loved it. I’d tried it at another bakery and disliked it but it’s addicting here. Liked: – Bread: Chile con Queso – Chocolate Cake with Flan on top – Flan de Rompope Ok: – Flan

Fin Fusion Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 2862 S Church St, Murfreesboro

My husband and I and our roommate went here on 2/18 for dinner. The building is cute and has a lot of interesting decorations. We were seated at a table and placed our orders. My self and my husband both ordered sushi rolls and our roommate ordered a appetizer of seafood tempura for himself. The roommate received his food within 10 minutes and another 40 minutes went by and my husband and I never got our food. We watched 4 other groups/tables that arrived after us get their food and we had not even received a refill on our completely empty drinks in over 20 minutes. I eventually said something to our waitress and she just brushed us off and said she’d check the food and look annoyed when I told her we had enough waiting and wanted the check for the sweet tea and water. After we paid, the same waitress told us to have a nice night and never even seemed sorry that we had a terrible experience. We ended up going to panda express for food because at least a knock off fast food placed can make sure their customers get their food. Will not be returning.

Quality Dairy Company – Menu with Prices – 111 W Mt Hope Ave, Lansing

I’ve been to two separate locations where my out of state license was refused and location 13 turned down a Federal, nationally recognized form of identification. I was also treated very rudely by both the downtown Lansing location and the west Lansing location. According to the Michigan We Card Assurances Acceptable Forms of Identification are: An official Michigan operator’s or chauffeur’s license, an official Michigan personal identification card, or any other bona fide picture identification which establishes the identity and age of the person. Please train your employees about the validity of federally issued forms of identification. Forms of identification such as a passport our residency card prove the legitimacy of an individual’s right to be in the country. And in case you are unaware, federal laws supersede that of any US state.
