I couldn’t talk to my friend while I was eating because I was too busy thoroughly enjoying my food. Got the half fried chicken and short rib fries. Can’t wait to try the fried chicken/waffles and the donut chicken thang. Trust me, im a dietitian. Quick service even though it was packed. Only had to wait 2 min for a table.

Lucky’s Waffles – Menu with Prices – 15554 Producer Ln a1, Huntington Beach

It was my breakfast party and we were looking for some tasty waffles! My friend recommended me Lucky’s Waffles and I am so glad to had a great experience with their food and service.Thank you for serving us the best waffles ever! Everybody liked the Waffles and also Maple syrup was so good. Can’t wait to place my next order:)))

Izakaya Hachi – Menu with Prices – 1880 W Carson St, Torrance

It was my first time trying a yakitori restaurant and I was thoroughly impressed with everything from the restaurant building, to the service, and food. At the time that we went it was best to have a reservation because it was very busy and packed inside. Luckily, there was exactly a table for 2 people and we got seated after 5-10 minutes. Once we were seated we had two different servers come to our attention and ordering wasn’t difficult at all. Since it was my first time eating at a yakitori restaurant I let my boyfriend do all the ordering. The two main things I wanted was the salmon onigiri and the omelette bar. Wait time for food was pretty average; about 20-25 minutes for a busy night. There was a couple tables who ordered before us and they got their food pretty quick as well. Loved my onigiri, the rice was delicious and the salmon tasted great. The omelette bar that I got was also fantastic, super filling and cooked to perfection. It’s served with radish that you put a little soy sauce in and when you combine it the flavor bursts in your mouth; I highly recommend the omelette and please make sure you eat it with the soy sauce and horse radish. As for my boyfriend’s order; he got chicken yakitori and fried karaage (fried chicken). If you’re worried about fried chicken tasting like any other fast food place – don’t. It’s very tender, the meat is dark, and it’s still juicy. Japanese fried chicken is very different from American friend chicken. For appetizers we also got halibut and octopus, both of which were so soft and practically melted in your mouth. My boyfriend also got plum wine with club soda (try it, it’s an amazing combo). And they have a small selection for dessert, which isn’t a big deal to me. I got the honey creme brûlée and it was both earthy and sweet. Overall the price for two people and for the amount of food we ordered was around $55, which is pretty standard. Please give this place a try, it’s amazing and would definitely come back!

Wing Madness Inc – Menu with Prices – 716 Dixwell Ave, New Haven

Wing Madness? Where do I even begin? I arrived in hopes that being there as soon as the doors opened, it would kill the wait time that folks were complaining about in the review and for the most part, I did not wait long at all. I ordered some fried chicken breasts, fries and even though rolls were on the menu, none were available but I will not ding you for missing rolls for I was here to review your chicken. In a nutshell, if sadness mixed with anger and the ability to feel both cold and alone had a flavor, THAT IS YOUR CHICKEN! It was a very tough bite and the chew was packed full of grease….so tough and greasy chicken? PICK A STRUGGLE!!! I want to give this location a NEGATIVE STAR RATING but be lucky that yelp does NOT have that as an option. You are probably wondering as to my opinion on their fries that I had ordered? DO NOT WONDER….They were soggy and depressed. You know the feeling you get when being flung into the friend zone? YEAH…..Now you know the feeling I had about these old and tired fries! I WILL NOT BE BACK!

RiNo Beer Garden – Menu with Prices – 3800 Walnut St, Denver

Went there as part of the RiNo week Rhino community mural painting on a Saturday noon lunch time. The location is not great – there’s a lot of construction nearby so the streets are dirty and dusty. The locale itself is pretty open. There’s a large backyard patio with many tables under a pergola-type area that blocks out a lot of the sun while still getting some rays. There were large fire-pit type areas with many chairs around them and a ledge by the fire where you could put your food/drinks on. The ambiance is very casual and there were a lot of people there enjoying themselves. The food was not that good. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was quite disappointed. I’m a big chicken and waffles fan so I’ve eaten many varieties over the years. The chicken was tasteless, overcooked, and the amount of chicken meat was very little – it was mostly breading. Then the waffle batter was incredibly sweet – it felt like I was eating an ice cream cone. I do not recommend it. My friend got green chili cheese fries and its pretty much just that – a giant cheesy mess on top of a lot of fries. Not really my thing but my friend liked it. They only had beer as well..which makes sense for a biergarten but we would have liked some mimosas (beermosa?) or a bloody. Service was prompt and friendly, no complaints there. They have a group of people coming by to pick plates up or drop things off aside from your server. Probably won’t go out of my way to return.

Big Top Brewing Company Pensacola – Menu with Prices – 21 W Romana St, Pensacola

I enjoyed the bottomless mimosas. I ordered the chicken and waffle; I can’t remember the name they have for it. As someone who enjoys good fried chicken and waffles, I had higher expectations for both. The food took a while to come out and the place was not even packed. I think there may have been 30 people inside when we ordered our food. I’d had 2 drinks before the food came. The chicken was pretty, but had no flavor and the waffle was undercooked (soft) to the point when I put the syrup on it the waffle just looked like a wet tissue. Our waitress was very pleasant and quick with refills. I like that she didn’t hound us once the food came; but I kinda wish she had so I could address the food issue. The only reason I didn’t say anything while there was because it took forever the first time for the food to come and I wasn’t gonna be happy having to wait another 35 minutes. Finally, I’d also suggest doing something about the bar stools. I switched seats three times and they all were wobbly. That’s not helpful nor it is something I want to deal with when first experiencing a new place.

Cider Belly Menu with Prices 25 N Pearl St, Albany

Well, I see no lies, these are for sure the best donuts I have ever had. This is an adorable little donut and coffee shop on North Pearl. I am sure they are very busy on weekdays with people grabbing a pick me up on their way to work. Even on a Sunday morning, with some really unfortunate road construction, the place was busy with people constantly in and out. I was lucky enough to enjoy a fresh, hot, sugar daddy. It was a perfect apple cider donut, hot and fresh, crusted with sugar. It was so soft and pillowy and moist, best donut ever. Their selection is huge, and all of which sounded amazing. I can’t wait to get back and try a lemon donut, a bacon one, all of them. I’ll have to grab a dozen. Get in here and get you a donut!

The Atmosphere Restaurant & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 4608 San Fernando Rd, Glendale

I always like trying out new places. That day my friends and I chose to go to the Atmosphere. What I’ve experienced? there was ambiguous?. As for the interior?, it’s very basic, nothing special at all. When we came in, there were a lot of people and it was busy. Although I’m a pretty understanding? person, waiters were not really paying attention to us. Then a waitress finally came up to our table. I can’t tell that she was rude, she just didn’t care about us at all (we asked her to get us glasses for our drinks, then we waited for some time, she passed our table like 20 times but didn’t pay any attention at all, so we asked another waiter for glasses?). When we got our food, it looked delicious?. But when I started eating my fries, I found a fried chicken? feather! I was absolutely disgusted? and I showed it ?to a waiter. He replaced my fries but unfortunately,? I could not eat anymore. I don’t? think I would ever visit the Atmosphere again, customer service is questionable? and I don’t? even want to imagine what’s going on inside the kitchen if something like a chicken? feather can get into your meal.

Ambassador Fish & Chicken – Menu with Prices – 362 S Orange Ave, Newark

Great food ….Oh but the prices. The food at this establishment is very good. If you love fried food this is the spot for you. This place always has a long line to get food. Trust me when I say that, ?If you need fried chicken to serve doing a meeting or dinner party. This is the chicken you want to serve?. I guarantee if you purchase a large tray of chicken. You won?t have a piece of chicken left over. Yes, it?s that good. We have purchased plenty of food from here. Trust me there is never any leftovers after our meeting. They make Mac and cheese but it?s not your mama, but it will do. They make good yams and cakes. They also serve fried fish and French fries and various other types of foods. Unfortunately I cannot write down their entire menu for you. As for their collar greens they?re okay. I just don?t trust anyone else?s collar greens but my own. The owners are very quite. They don?t converse with their clients. They are all about business. This is not and eat in establishment so there are no rest rooms available. I would not call this place fancy by anyone standards. However they do keep it clean. It?s wheelchair accessible and the menu is easy to read. The area is not one of the greatest places to be. They do delivery and they open from 12pm- until 9/10pm.

UnbeWingable – Menu with Prices – 1706202002001, Lincoln

All the way legit! I’m mad at myself for waiting so late to try this spot out. I called my order in: chicken and waffles, crunch wings, fried okra and jerk chicken. Everything was delicious and prepared fresh to order. As a matter of fact, they didn’t cook my waffle until I showed up for my order which I appreciate. Everything was still hot when I got back to my room to devour it. The Cheeto crunch was a interesting combination. Very neutral flavored, great for dipping! The chicken and waffles were on point. Five wings atop a soft hot waffle. Although I prefer crispy edge waffles, this was a great combo with the right amount of syrup. Very tasty. Lastly the jerk chicken. I’m guessing this was authentic jerk seasoning cause let me tell you, it was HOT!!!! Order with caution, not for the faint of heart. The cashier was friendly and helpful in the phone ordering as well as when I picked my meal up. I see myself eating a lot of wings in the near future.

Rob’s Wicked Chicken & Wedges – Menu with Prices – 466 Horton St E, London

Had to charge my car and found this place by accident. What an amazing discovery. As you may have read in some of my previous reviews, I have a soft spot for family run businesses and this is no exception. Rob and his wife and son were all so accommodating and kind. You can fee the love in their food. This used to be a Mary Browns but have left the chain to go off in their own to perfect fried chicken. And perfect they did. Had the Big Wicked sandwich. And wow is it ever wickedly awesome. The fries were amazing. Hand chopped and fried. So so fresh. Had the Macaroni salad too. Wow. You can taste the freshness. Sat there feeling so content and the owner was sitting with his family at the next table eating the same chicken. I was so impressed that their own family (including the mother in law) all sat there eating the same food we were eating. We started chatting in friendly talk and told him how much we loved the food. You can tell Rob takes great pride in his product so he got up and said “wait here a few minutes”. He comes back with some fresh fried chicken hand battered for us on the spot. Oh my gosh was it so good. The middle of the breast was moist and flavourful. Bathed in his signature “wicked sauce” that was literally “finger licking great!” He is such a nice man and a warm family. I noticed he greeted everyone personally and thanked them for coming. Customer service: 5/5 Experience: 5/5 Quality: 5:5 Will I repeat? Absolutely Do I recommend: Absolutely If you are ever in the London area stop here to try their fried chicken. Was the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life. No joke.

Clutch and Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1321 El Prado Ave, Torrance

Service: 5/5 The service here is amazing. My friend arrived on a Saturday morning right before the rush kicked in and she was told that there would be a 30 minute wait. After the approximate wait time, the hostess kindly sat her even though 2 of us were still on the way! That’s usually unheard of when there’s a wait time, and we were extremely grateful. Additionally, the staff was attentive during our entire meal. I appreciate that multiple people asked how we were doing instead of leaving it up to our 1 server. It shows the camaraderie of the establishment during a rush hour. Food: 4/5 We ordered the BLT, Tartine, Chicken and Waffles. This isn’t your average BLT. It had thick slices of bacon with even thicker slices of toasted bread. And they have an egg! It was hearty yet light and I enjoyed it a lot. My only gripe is that it seemed to miss a bit of oomph, and I found that oomph via their homemade pesto. Slathering on the left over pesto from the Tartine was probably the best decision I made that day. It took the BLT to another level. Speaking of the Tartine, I can see why it’s their best seller. It’s a simple dish that’s well balanced and flavorful. Once again, the pesto is the star. I don’t have much to say for the chicken & waffles. It’s a standard dish that’s typical in most breakfast joints and this was no different. Interior: 3.5/5 Not a huge fan of the location of this establishment. It’s not overly tiny, yet the small booths and overall cacophony of the customers makes the restaurant feel crowded. Also, the interior design reminds me of a bar, which isn’t necessarily bad, but add all the noise during breakfast and it becomes less desirable. It’s the type of place where you’ll have to yell every so often whilst taking to your friend. Parking: 5/5 Although it’s located in a busy area, you can always find street parking or head to the public parking structure a block away.

Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue – Menu with Prices – 470 James St, New Haven

The first time I went to a Bear’s, I went to the one in Windsor. It was nice, not too many people there, and everything was really excellent! I love the food (big fan of the Mac Attack with Kielbasa) and overall had a great time. Fast forward to a couple months ago and now I have one that’s literally maybe 3 exits off the highway away from me! Went with some friends before heading to a show at the Shubert, and the place was packed!!! Service was slower due to the packed place, but still excellent food. I just went again recently to discover they added a section where you can order food right in front of you instead of getting table service. I liked this idea a lot, since the bar side was absolutely packed with a private party going on and we most likely were not going to get quick service if we went to that side. I’ve always enjoyed their food and even loved it the next day as well (heats up nicely). I’ve always gotten the Mac Attack either with Kielbasa or the burnt ends. I’d love to go on a day that’s not so busy and spend more time checking out the beers on tap. Always excellent food, and I’m glad to see they are becoming more and more accommodating for faster service since they do get crazy busy!
