I’ve walked by this place a hundred times and never gave it a second glance – likely because it’s a small little window of a shop situated right outside the Macy’s in Bellevue Square that’s easy to overlook. That’s too bad because I was missing out! Never having tried Turkish food before, I opted for the familiar – a Potato Gozleme, which is smashed potatoes rolled up in a crepe-like dough. The potatoes weren’t mashed and blended; there was still some texture to them, although they were cooked to softness (not crispy) and more smashed (not cubed). They were seasoned very well and salted just enough, and they came with something like a Tzatziki or ranch-style sauce for dipping that added a refreshing burst of dill and creaminess. My friend had the Chicken Kir Pidesi and it was equally tasty, with an added blend of spices that punched up the flavor. It also came with the same sauce. I think my ideal lunch would be a half Chicken Kir Pidesi and a half Potato Gozleme because I’m not sure I could decide a favorite between the two. It’s also worth mentioning that for the little operation that it is, the service was top-notch. We asked about the differences between Kir Pidesi and Gozleme and they were happy to explain and patient while we made our decisions. There are a handful of tables in front of the place, and the person who took our orders even brought our food out to us. Not sure if that always happens – they weren’t quite slammed with a lunch rush yet – nevertheless, it was a nice touch. I’ll definitely be back, and will probably try a dessert, too, because they looked so good!

The Potato Factory Menu with Prices 4631 S Western St, Amarillo

But Iâ??m sorry Iâ??m going to have to give them a very bad review nine times out of 10 they are out of potatoes before closing their hours of operation are not what I would call convenient they close to early and they run out of food a lot potatoes that is I made three attempts to order a potato from the potato factory twice by phone One time they said it was too close to closing and I cannot take my order second time they were out of potatoes and the third time I called and tried to place an order and was told they cannot take any takeout orders because they are running low on potatoes that I drove to the business and was served it was good customer service the potatoes awesome perfect But they need to work on possibly changing their hours to be open longer and to bake potatoes so they do not run out I know itâ??s inevitable that sometimes they just run out Of potatoes but three times in a row is really ridiculous and needs to be brought to the managers attention

PB & J’s Lunch Box – Menu with Prices – 989 James St, Syracuse

I came to the Everson today for the food truck and music fest. I was very excited to try PB&J lunchbox. I ordered a grilled PB&J with strawberry jam, loaded smashed potatoes, and an everything but the lunchbox cookie. The grilled PB&J was huge. A sandwich and a half. And it came out piping hot. But honestly, it just tasted like a greasy version of toast with peanut butter. I thought it would be more special. It wasn’t. I was seriously disappointed. The loaded smashed potatoes were ok. 3 small salt potatoes smashed and loaded with cheese, bacon, and sour cream. I think they would’ve been better if they were a little crispy. The cookie had oatmeal, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and nuts. The onlly thing I tasted were the chocolate chips and it was really dry. Not impressed at all. Overall, didn’t love it. I had serious food envy of my boyfriend and my son who got food from the other food truck.

Maryland Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 939 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

We heard a rumor in Greensboro NC that Maryland fried chicken was the best. We ordered two dinners with fried okra and potato salad. I have to say that I’ve never had better fried chicken. The okra was just great but I took na star away for the horrid MUSTARD MASHED potato salad. What are you folks thinking? We had a lot left over because as potato salad goes it is simply awful, but when we got home I decided to make some deviled eggs. As an afterthought, having that full container of mustard mashed potatoes in the fridge, I decided to slip that into a few of the egg halves. Everyone raved over them, not knowing they were eating potatoes at all. What a hoot! Anyhow, get the chicken but unless you’re having deviled eggs later on, I suggest you leave the potato salad alone. Bonaparte Y’all.

Pollard’s Chicken at Battlefield Blvd. – Menu with Prices – 717 S Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake

This is the 4th time I’ve been here in the past couple months or so and every time gets worse. The customer service and lack of respect from the cashiers is unacceptable from a Pollard’s. Last time I ordered the daily lunch special around 2 and it took 45 minutes to get me a chicken sandwich and fries. I didn’t complain but just setting the stage on this review. Another point of reference, my mother in law got raw chicken and the managers response was “they’re just kids” as to why it was undercooked. We ordered a family meal of tenders with a rotisserie chicken mashed potatoes and one baked potato. The tenders were extremely dry and extremely greasy, mashed potatoes had plastic in it and were chunky, baked potato was- I’m not sure, still trying to understand what I’m looking at, and the rotisserie chicken was burnt. I should’ve looked at the food before I left. It was a waste of a trip and money as to most of the food was not eatable. This is the last time I’m ordering from the Battlefield store and will go to the one at Kempsville/Centerville. **If the owner would like to make some restitution concerning this matter I would be happy to have a conversation and update the review.**

Arizona BBQ Company – Menu with Prices – 1534 E Ray Rd #110, Gilbert

WOW, I’m impressed! Not a flashy set up, but plenty of clean tables in an order, pay, we bring it to your table BBQ place. The bbq is fabulous! We both ordered the SUPERSTITION COMBO, consisting of probably more than the stated “1/4 lb Brisket, 1/4 lb Pulled Pork, 1/3 Rack Ribs”! What can I say, the best of the best tasting BBQ. I ordered my two sides, fried potato wedges ( a very large potato cut lengthwise in half, and the half cut in half, and the quarter cut in half) 8 wonderful crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and an awful lot to consume, and chili lime roasted corn which I could have eaten a half dozen of. A generous sized ear of corn with fabulous seasoning on it and perfectly cooked. My wife had the same potatoes and the disappointing green chili and bacon mac n cheese. She claimed it was without flavor and left most of it over. This is the loan negative I could find at this restaurant. Added to all this food they also give you a choice of Corn or Flour Tortillas. We both had unsweetened iced tea, tasted fresh and was good. We took home a bounty of meat to enjoy the next day! We will definitely return, yum. I feel compelled to mention the really low music in the background, wonderfully soft and unobtrusive.

Monnette’s Market – Menu with Prices – 5717 Secor Rd, Toledo

On a hunt for purple sweet potatoes, I am lead to Monnette’s Market. My daughter wanted to make a purple sweet potato pie so we had to get purple sweet potatoes. I call around and we were excited to find out that Monnette’s did indeed carry them. We get in the car and head to our destination. As we walked through the door I instantly knew I would be back. I just love farmers market and this one was quite nice. Not only did they have a nice produce department, they also had a very nice selection of craft beer and wine. Nice! We did find our purple potatoes, however when we got home and really looked at them they were not purple sweet potatoes, but just purple potatoes. That was my fault. It was an exhausting day and I just grabbed a purple potato. â? BTW The purple potatoes made a delicious Sweet Purple Potato Pie! We will still return to get the right potatoes next time. Monnette’s also has a deli, bulk items, and a large selection of specialty foods.

Rita Marie’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 605 E Holland Ave #116, Spokane

This place is probably a 3.5 but since the rating system only allows while numbers, I had to give it a 3. It’s not a 4 star. Unless we are talking about their beef barley soup then it’s a solid 4. We went and lunch time and my husband got their special which was Fried Chicken homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and vegetables. They said we could either have a half or a whole chicken. My husband asked what that meant and they said it was a half a chicken breast. I wondered how they would do this and was surprised to see a breaded chicken breast literally cut in half instead of cutting it in half first then reading it and cooking it they took the whole piece of chicken and cut it in half after it was cooked. The chicken was dry and tasteless. The mashed potatoes did not seem homemade of to smooth. Finally the vegetables were okay at best there is just some squash on a plate. My daughter and I ordered the sandwich special. it was a half a croissant with chicken salad and either salad or soup on the side. I got a salad was Asian noodle salad it was not very good although the dressing was yummy my daughter got the tomato basil and she said it was more tomato than it was basil I did not taste it so it’s hard for me to speak to that. I did get a cup of beef barley soup because it sounded really good and it was the only saving grace out of the meal. The establishment is clean the staff is very friendly and the prices are average to above-average, depending on what you order. The soup and sandwich combo was $7 and they gave you a very nice sized soup. Salad with what the sandwich was a pretty decent size as well. The special cost $7 I think that that is excessive for a half a chicken breast a small scoop of mashed potatoes and a few pieces of vegetable. The full chicken breast would it cost $10. Bottom line, if it’s a cold wintry day and you’re looking for a good hearty soup I would go grab a bowl of soup from them otherwise I would give this place a pass.

Gem City Dinor – Menu with Prices – 3545 W 12th St, Erie

As a traveling salesman Iâ??ve ate at countless Dinors (Love the correct spelling for the region). I canâ??t give this place enough stars! First impression, the place was packed! Second impression, the portions looked generous! Third and final impressions, impeccable attention to detail, wonderful music, the tv by the bar was playing classic Saturday morning cartoons, everyone was friendly, the patrons, staff, it was such a rare experience in this day in age. Now we get to the food, letâ??s just say, living two hours away, Iâ??ll be planning weekend trips and sales calls around Gem Cityâ??s hours of operation. The weekend special biscuits and gravy with eggs over top and smashed potatoes was just awesome! The rest of weekend was rainy and cool for a Mid June weekend but the whole family highlighted Gem City Dinor as the highlight of our 3 day getaway weekend. Canâ??t wait to get back there!

Little Village Grill – Menu with Prices – 710 W Trade St, Charlotte

Great little lunch place to grab a sandwich, a wrap, warm or cold. The service was friendly, efficient and the place looked very clean. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Gyros and added Feta and omitted the onions (had to work). I took it out, walked about 5 minutes before I ate it. It was delicious, however my suggestion to the place would be to make sure it’s HOT. The pita was cool to touch, chicken also somewhat warm, not really the nice hot fresh sandwich I would expect. Overall, however, I would go back, I would just tell them to make sure it’s nice and hot! Everything that’s added is cool (tomato, feta, etc..so it has to be hot to start) Great inexpensive lunch! I highly recommend for a tasty lunch bite! BTW you can never go wrong adding feta to a chicken gyro, especially if there isn’t enough tzatziki sauce!

Ike’s Woodfire Grill – Menu with Prices – 4414 82nd St Suite #218, Lubbock

I was a little skeptical when it took 10 minutes for my wife and I to get water and I was pretty upset when it took 25 minutes to get my food but once the food arrived I was blown away. I had the roasted chicken with mash potatoes and steamed vegetables my wife had the chicken breast with twice baked potato and the steamed vegetables. My chicken was cooked to perfection. Crispy skin, moist and the perfect amount of smoke on the chicken. The mash potatoes were buttery, and the vegetables were cooked perfect with plenty of seasoning and crunchiness. My wife’s chicken breast was also cooked perfect and it tasted like it had been soaking in a brine. The potatoes and vegetables were also perfect. Rachel, our waitress was very apologetic about the wait but it was worth every minutes once we got our food. I know that it is going to take some time to get the service up to speed with the food but once they do this is going to be the place in Lubbock to go have a drink and eat some fantastic food. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

D’Road Cafe – Menu with Prices – 121 Montgomery St, Montgomery

You can choose anywhere you want to sit, then you go up to the bar and order a plate. I got the lunch plate, and because I’m vegetarian, they let me have some of each non-meat side they had. My favorite was the sweet potato noodles. They were seasoned perfectly! I couldn’t even tell they were potatoes. my fiance had breakfast. He ordered a veggie omelet. The inside was really good but the outside was overcooked in our opinion. If you like your omelet more like a golden crust then you’ll love it. That’s the only reason we’re giving them 4 stars and not five. The tea comes with the lunch and was tasty as well. Not overly sweet like sweet tea can be. Lunch also includes dessert! It was a bread-like cake with some kind of fruity sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce! The staff were very quick to serve us as well. Great option if you are vegetarian or vegan and need a quick eat.

Chester’s Chicken – Menu with Prices – 7791 NW 47th Ave, Ocala

This was at a location in a travel stop. I requested the chicken that had just came up as based on the sanitation of the establishment I was already concerned. the employee said only white meat was available so I chose two breasts and One Wing. The breading was good and the chicken was hot but unfortunately the chicken breast was tough the seasoning was okay I ordered the potato wedges and received two potato wedges, pretty stingy the employee a teenage girl seemed to be more interested in the previous customer because all his side’s and everything was done much better than mine. The potato wedges had obviously been sitting around for an hour and a half. Avoid mashed because the mashed potatoes look runny like pablum. I also got the macaroni and cheese which had seen better days it had obviously been in the steam table for several hours it was not good in the future I will avoid Chester’s Chicken their quality was lacking employees appeared lazy, poorly trained and didn’t do a very good job. The sides looked tired not fresh and generally the place did not look all that clean. my question is how can they stay in business when they’re not even as good as Colonel Sanders? If there was a manager on duty they didn’t care. my guess is the hot dogs on the roller grill in the gas station would have been just as good and a lot cheaper. OK if you’re not picky.
