Had a chance to revisit Hurricane BTW this week. My group really enjoys this place, not just because it has good food but also because it is in a location that is somewhat away from a good portion of the students in town, allowing for a quieter place to eat. It was pleasant outside, so we chose to eat on the patio instead of inside. There are large monitors setup outside as well, so you still get the viewing pleasure of whatever sportsball happens to be in season at the time. We won’t go into my desire for there to be televised curling matches. I had a burger and some wings, which were both excellent. I find the burger prices here to be quite reasonable, and the wings are decent as well. I forewent the shake this time around… It was fun to try the first time here, but isn’t something that I need every time. The fries are also pretty good, and there are sauces inside for you to use with them. The one thing that we did run into was that there are almost no power outlets along the walls, so recharging a phone is next to impossible. Not really a detractor, just a note for those wondering.

MeVell’s BBQ & Wings – Menu with Prices – 3024 New Covington Pike, Memphis

Make sure you tell them regular fries or seasoned fries! They’ll charge you for seasoned fries which is an extra $1.00, and not tell you. We were over charged twice. The double burger is the best item on their menu! It’s huge and juicy, but if you order the $8.99 special that you can get a burger, BBQ sandwich or fish with wings and fries, the burger is so tiny, over cooked, and not worth it. The wings are decent. I have eaten here several times, and was only happy with the double burger. The gentleman answering the phone is cross, and not very nice, but the lady is very nice and sweet. My family won’t be eating here anymore due to overcharging.

Burger Bar Fort Wayne – Menu with Prices – 223 W Jefferson Blvd Suite 101, Fort Wayne

The Burger Bar is located in the Hampton Inn & Suites next to the ball park. I was waiting outside with other people but there didn’t seem to be anyone working at the window, so I went inside. There was only one cashier during my visit, so all the people waiting to order inside were served first before those waiting outside on the patio. You can order inside if you plan to eat on the patio, so just something to consider if you find yourself in the same situation. Make sure to check-in on Yelp so you can get free fries with your burger. There are also other promotions that will get you freebies, like free fries on Fridays, and $2 Milkshakes on Tuesdays. The September shake of the month is Carmel Apple. I tried it and really liked it. I also ordered the Crispy Chicken Tender Sandwich. It comes with sriracha mayo, but can be changed for other sauces if you prefer. I stayed with the sriracha mayo, and I’m glad I did. It went well with the chicken. My only gripe would be that I wish the chicken sandwich was one piece instead of three tenders. Keeping it all together and not falling apart was not impossible, but I still ended up with half a chicken tender slipping out of the sandwich. While the menu is limited, there are enough good options. Burger Bar kind of reminds me of a Shake Shack – great shakes, chicken, burgers, and fries.

Burger Brothers House – Menu with Prices – 4050 W 12th Ave, Hialeah

I think the burger I had was pretty good, but it was really disappointing that the burger didnâ??t come with fries. The tater tots were a tease just donâ??t put them on the plate. Burger and fries is a classic combo, so I donâ??t think itâ??s reasonable to charge for fries. The strawberry shake should not be made with an artificial syrup, it would be better if they used fresh or frozen strawberries. The shake didnâ??t even taste like strawberry. They should invest in advertisements or something to attract people, the only reason I found this place was because I was craving a burger and found them on google maps. The plaza is kind of plain, the restaurant kind of blends in with everything else.

Faber Newsstand – Menu with Prices – 200 E Front St, Wilmington

I bought some earbuds here for $40. I expected a decent pair that would work well. The overpriced wireless earbuds cut out and were quite cheap and tinny sounding. When I got home (1.5 hrs away) from the train station I wanted to call them to ask how I could return them. There is no phone number anywhere on the Internet or on yelp or anywhere that matches their store. The one that is listed here is not the right phone number either. Terrible. It could be that I just got ripped off for $40 with no way to make it right.

Blessin Restaurants – Triana Blvd – Menu with Prices – 2900 Triana Blvd SW Suite M, Huntsville

Discovered this gem today on my way home. I’ve heard about the Meridian location for some time but I haven’t had a chance to try them out. For $4.58 (odd price but I’m not complaining), I was able to get a 6 pc combo with a small fry and small drink. After tasting these delicious wings, I kicked myself for not getting the 10 pc. Lol. Their wings are seriously the best wings I’ve tasted in the area. I requested for my wings to be cooked extra crispy and they were perfect along with the hot, seasoned fries that accompanied them. There is very limited seating so don’t plan to dine in. I spotted maybe 3 tables or so and those were taking by customers waiting for their orders. After placing my order, I waited maybe 15 minutes or so. The wings are cooked to order so be prepared to wait if you want hot and delicious wings. If I’m not mistaken, I believe you can call ahead before pick up. Based upon the menu posted here, it appears that this location only has wings versus the Meridian location that has wings, chicken strips, burgers and etc. Best wings in town and the prices are incredibly reasonable here. Hopefully my next experience will be just as good as this one. Nothing showy here; just darn good wings. Service was decent for take out.

Monty’s Good Burger – Menu with Prices – 3605 Market Street, Riverside

EDIT: I was contacted by Bill, the owner, shortly after writing this review. He very kindly explained some of the justifications and reasons behind Monty’s pricing and quickly sent me a refund without me even asking. While my opinions on the food still stand, this is certainly customer service done right. And the high prices make much more sense to me now. ORIGINAL: Disclaimer: though I am not vegan, I do enjoy good vegan food. And I definitely love a good burger. I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. I ordered a single burger for $11 (no lettuce or tomato), onion aioli and house spread at no cost (first spread is free, 2nd spread usually $1 but I used Yelp’s check-in offer to get it free) $4 fries, and a $7 salted caramel shake. I only waited a few minutes in line and then around 10 for the food. I got lucky and grabbed a seat right at the counter. I am not a fan of the burger. As is the case with most vegan burgers I’ve tried, it just had no flavor. It was a little dry and tasteless. I did like the cheese and spreads though. And this is not to mention that the burger was quite tiny. The $4 fries were fine at first. Your standard fast food salty fries. And the portion was actually pretty generous, they gave me quite a lot for $4. But after eating a bit, I noticed a slight greenish tint on many of the fries. You can see one in the pic of the fry tray, as well as another close up picture of another one. I was hoping it was just that one on top, but turned out there were a lot like that. I don’t know what exactly this indicates, perhaps that the potatoes were not ripe? Whatever the case, it looked unappetizing. As I was working nearby and on a break, I cut my losses and stopped eating them (didn’t have time to ask for refund). Lastly comes the $7 salted caramel shake. It was way too sweet for me. I did not like the underlying soy taste throughout the shake. It tasted more of vanilla than salted caramel as well. They also did not have an actual thick straw which is typically used for milkshakes. The shake was quite thick, which is usually like, but because I was given a regular straw, it was hard to sip much of anything through it. It was also a very small quantity for $7. Summary: – decent service, food came quick – did not like burger much. Not much flavor to it. Pricey – fries would’ve been ok except for the weird green tint that permeated a lot of them. Yuck… – milkshake was very sweet, not much caramel flavor. Small amount for $7 – $24 for a subpar meal of a burger, fries, and shake. Yikes

Luther Burger – Menu with Prices – 1001 W Main St, Charlottesville

Props to Luther Burger for bringing the vegan burger to Charlottesville. I definitely had a heart attack while eating it, but it’s worth it once in a while. I forgot whether the vegan bacon was made with tempeh or seitan (I always confuse the two), so don’t forget to ask if you’re curious, but it was a very good addition to the burger. I also forgot whether the burger is Impossible or Beyond Meat, so I’ll also have to ask again when I return. Impossible Burger is reported to test on animals, so transparency on where Luther Burger sources their vegan products would be great. I personally prefer the taste of Beyond Burgers. I’ll also have to try the milkshakes the next time I come back. I however won’t be getting the fries again. Like reviewer Dusk C. said, “they’re too dry for my liking.” I didn’t end up finishing them as a result of the dryness. Parking also looks like it’ll be a pain on busy days, but thankfully Charlottesville is a semi-walkable city.

Nonla Burger – Menu with Prices – 2103 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo

Love this little burger restaurant in Kalamazoo. I’m always late to the game on new & exciting businesses opening up but eventually I get out a nd try new places, which are now over 2 years old. My coworker & I came here this past Friday for lunch. We were busy and were taking a late lunch, which was good for us as Nonla Burger’s was relatively quiet since the lunch time rush was over. Little describes Nonla Burger. It has a very small parking lot around a very small building on a very busy intersection. The order counter is right inside the door. On the wall is their entire menu, which takes up only nine lines. Burgers, a chicken sandwich, a salad, fries, shake of the day and pop. I like places that don’t make me read through a large menu. There are 3 booths in the front section and 3 or 4 in the back section. Plus a couple of picnic tables and tables & chairs outside. I ordered the cheese burger with the Shake of the Day “Cookies & Cream”. My coworker had their burger of the day “Western” and fries. Our food was delivered to our table in less than 5 minutes. I absolutely loved my burger. It had a great flavor and I knew it came from good beef. I loved the Nonla Sauce, which was similar to 1000 Island, that was spread on the burger. My shake was to die for. I don’t know what ice cream they use, but it was creamy and delicious. My co-worker, who has food allergies, was super impressed. The counter personnel were very understanding when she told them no bun and no cheese. Her burger came wrapped in a lettuce leave and she loved it. We both shared the hand-cut fries which were prepared exactly how I like them – crispy on the outside but soft inside. We can’t wait to go back to this little restaurant that makes one of the best burgers in town.

Shake Shack Menu with Prices 3030 Washtenaw Ave #107, Ann Arbor

The flavor of the meat itself was quite good and unlike almost any other, even from places that specialize in hamburgers. I got a double this time because the last few times I went I was disappointed. The person taking my order suggested a double and she was right. It’s much better than a single which is my standard. The burger is very rich, a little heavy really. The Shack sauce is bland and oily. They serve the burger in a way that makes it a mess – the bun is small and not cut completely through, the meat and condiments are therefore wedged into one side and the whole thing is then placed into a half sized burger bag that is supposed to serve as a wrap but only covers one side. It’s a mess and everyone there was getting it all over their hands. It’s just pretentious nonsense. They also put lettuce and tomato on their standard burger, but the amount is paltry – about half of what would be standard in a diner, less even than the big three national burger chains. The french fries were crinkle cut and done very well. I like crinkle cut fries so that was good. The price was high. $12 for a double cheeseburger and fries. The flavor of the meat itself was quite good, but if you don’t get a double you’re going to miss it because it’s subtle. I don’t think it’s bad, but I’m really missing the reason for all of the hype. I guess I didn’t have a milk shake. Perhaps people like it because what they really want is dessert for lunch but they aren’t willing to admit it, so they talk about the burger instead? I must admit, the pretentiously inconvenient lopsided presentation of the hamburger really turned me off. I immediately disassembled mine in order to make it less of a mess, but the patties were stuck together in a tilted mess, and that made it impossible to get it straight, so I gave up. Poor value, poor presentation, excessively heavy and oily. I know people like greasy burgers and abundance, but this was too much for me, and the high price put the finishing touch on my opinion of Shake Shack – overrated. Not bad, but not living up to the hype.

Scott’s Place – Menu with Prices – 4700 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville

Scott’s Place is an East Knoxville gem. The food is quite good, however, the restaurant is quite difficult to review, for reasons that I will explain. Scott’s is located in an old Kay’s Ice cream building, just off Asheville highway. It’s just off of I-40 and only a couple of miles from the zoo. The mostly serve hamburgers and sandwiches, although they do sell several flavors of premium ice cream. The interior is quite small…probably limited to 10 tables and booths. It’s poorly ventilated and quite warm inside, almost to the point of being uncomfortable. The food is quite excellent. Their hamburgers are all cooked on a well-seasoned flat top and are of generously portioned. They even serve a full 1 pound burger, for those with the hardiest of appetites. When I visited, I ordered a cheeseburger with tater tots and the tater tots were the best that I have ever had. They were well salted, directly from fryer to table. They can be ordered with chili and cheese, if you prefer. My cheeseburger was very flavorful. The bun was soft and and seemed to have been made within 24 hours, if not 12. As I have stated, Scott’s is difficult to review. The food is great. Cheeseburger was better that most and the tater tots were better than all others, however, the wait time for 2 cheeseburger was between 25-30 minutes. The hours aren’t very convenient either (they close around 6pm). The prices are also very reasonable. If you want an excellent cheeseburger at a very reasonable price and don’t mind waiting and also sitting in an uncomfortably warm room, you should really try Scott’s place. You get a restaurant(or better) quality burger and fast food prices. If you aren’t willing to wait that long, in an uncomfortable room, and don’t mind paying a few bucks more for quicker burger in a nicer environment, then you probably won’t enjoy Scott’s. To be honest, I myself, prefer Downtown Grill, Parkside Tavern, and Sam and Andy’s. They offer slightly better burgers without having to compromise on comfort or wait time.

B & W : Burgers, Wings & Beer – Menu with Prices – 2119 N Mesa St, El Paso

I happen to be in El Paso for business and walked down the street after a teleconference. Passed Taco Bell, I just can’t buy a Taco Bell taco so close to Mexico, and Wata Burger was out, at least till JJ Watt buys it from those Chicago dudes. I’m more of a lota burger guy anyways. So I chose B&W. The restaurant was on the small side. There is indoor and out door seating. It was clean so they were off to a good start. The staff was very friendly and genuinely seemed happy to take my order. I chose the 6 wing meal. 6 buffalo wings, fries and a soda. I love wings so I was happy to goto a fast casual and try the wings. I took a seat and in less than 5 I was diving into the wings. The wings were excellent and served at the perfect temp and with just the right amount of buffalo sauce. The fries, unseasoned but perfectly cooked as well. I didn’t try any of the burgers but the steak burger looked promising. It was a solid meal for the price. I’d definitely come back. Other things: they have beer, beer is good! The vibe needs a lil work, the music was a little out but indie modern which I like and the tv was on, but no one watching it. Finally they could benefit from putting some wet wipes at the table. I’m a little messy with the wings. Overall, I’m impressed with the cleanliness, service and high quality of the food. A great value!

Cafe Single Fin – Menu with Prices – 380 N 9th Ave, Pensacola

My husband and I visited on 5/27/19 Memorial Day) around 11:15ish am. This was our 1st time visiting as I had found them through my continuous search for more vegan options here in the Pensacola area. I initially chose them to try because they were listed as a merchant for the Impossible Burger. Once we got there I was told they didn’t have the Impossible Burger but that they had the beyond burger which is the same one I buy out of the store so I went on to my second option the Islander Tacos made with Seitan which they were out. I was a little disappointed at this point but decided to go with the tofu scramble and my husband had the black bean quesadillas. We absolutely loved our food. Our main complaint is that it took over an hour to get our food. I’m not sure if this is the regular flow of the restaurant or just due to the holiday but we look forward to eating here again in hopes that it will be less of a wait on our next visit. Overall our experience was good and I am happy to have a restaurant with more vegan options to choose from.
