Great food! Manager is the best! It’s the place for all your take out needs. THEIR NEW MEAT SUSHI IS AWESOME!!! IT’S A MUST TO TRY!!

Oshima Sushi Japanese Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 109 E 10th St, Sioux Falls

I went here yesterday and was amazed with the sushi and their “buy two get one free roll” deal monday-thursday. The sushi is quality and flavorful and affordable. However, today I went back but decided to order online for a pick up. I basically ordered the same thing as yesterday with the exception of one sushi roll being different. Upon arrival I am told that the deal only applies if I order by calling or ordering in person. Nowhere did it say I had to order in person or by calling, when I asked one of the waitresses if she was the manager she hesitated and looked uncertain as she claimed that she was the manager. I’m assuming she wasn’t the manager in case you didn’t catch that, but basically I told her it wasn’t included in the website and she only offered a 10% discount. Which was only 3 dollars of the 33 that I ended up spending for 3 sushi rolls. So in result, 4-stars.

Kiyoshi’s Sushi LLC – Menu with Prices – 6550 Gateway Ave, Sarasota

Everything we had was delicious and the place is small but awesome. The service was incredible; friendly and attentive from as soon as we entered and continued as we left. The restaurant’s decor is really cool; the conveyor belt, when not in use for their sushi plates, has a delightfully awesome array of rubber ducks. Their spicy salmon roll was some of the best sushi I have ever had, the eel was incredible, and the tuna was beautiful. As one of my daughters said, “this place has ruined sushi for me.” We had 2 pieces of nigiri, and 6 sushi rolls with 2 salads (with homemade ginger dressing), 2 bowls of miso soup (homemade on site), and 3 drinks with tip for only $73! I will DEFINITELY be back!!!!

Piggly Wiggly Menu with Prices 1324 Dunnavant Valley Rd, Birmingham

What a great addition to the town of Mt Laurel. This Pig offers so much!! Awesome local craft beer selection, wine as well. The deli is awesome!! Also, Skull Girl candles are my new favorite ($9 at the floral department). These candles are the best!! They make great gifts as well as supporting an Alabama business! I got one on a whim a couple of weeks ago. I’ve used it daily… It’s all natural with coconut oil and other oils that you can also use as moisturizer. So, the local craft beers, local coffee from Birmingham roasters, the Skull Girl candles, the deli and seafood/meat departments are great…. and I’ve saved the best for last… the in house sushi chef!!! The sushi is freshly prepared daily by a Japanese man who knows what he is doing!! My husband lived in Japan for 4 years and he impressed the sushi chef by saying a couple of words to him in Japanese… it was fun to watch. This is something we like to do… call ahead and order our favorite sushi (mine is avocado & salmon and please no cream cheese, that’s for bagels!!!) pick out a couple of craft beers we like & on a nice day we can ride our bikes home with a great lunch date ready!!! This Pig has a lot to offer!! We love it. Go check it out!! I’m sure you’ll find something else there to love that I didn’t mention…..

Blue Fin Sushi Menu with Prices 102 S Samish Way, Bellingham

Went here with a group of sushi lovers who said this was their favorite sushi restaurant. I quickly saw why when I saw the extensive menu of sushi selections. We had everything from plum wine and saki to appetizers of edamame and dumplings then sushi (I had spicy chicken teriyaki since I am not a sushi fan). Also had great green tea ice cream for desert. Prices are a bit high. The quality of food and service is excellent. The restaurant was full and customers were flocking in for “to go” orders which displays that this is very popular destination for sushi.

Ming Ming Tea – Menu with Prices – 7218 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

Banging prices and deals for the sushi you get here. Its very unique and different to any other spots ive been too. They also got sushi rolls in black organic rice. It has a mild sweetness to it i think. I love to get the roll with mango and pineapple. It might sounds weird at first but definitely worth a try. If you like pineapple on pizza, you might like this on sushi too ahaha. Even if you dont like it on pizza, its worth a try on the sushi. They also got a selection of tea you can buy to take home to brew yourself. They buy it from china and hand selects them too. Owners are awesome and really nice too. Not really a fan of their boba selection or maybe i just havnt really tried a good one yet but their Orion beer is amazing. Not many places carry that beer. They do have parking but it is a small plaza. The interior of the place is interesting. They also do to go and cater big sushi but need time in advance to prepare. So let them know ahead of time

Northfresh Sushi – Menu with Prices – The yard food park, 4106 State St, Salem

I have lived in Missouri, Texas and Arizona. I always try to find good sushi places that compare but always come back to Jeff!! I have been a loyal customer of Jeff’s since he worked at another Sushi place. It’s been 8 years! My first time going in I was not there to eat… I was with some co-workers and I did not think I liked sushi! It was my first time meeting Jeff and he made me order a roll and he promised that I would like it. I’ve been hooked ever since! I remember going in years ago and sitting at the bar while he made my sushi… he’d go on and on about wanting to open his own sushi place. It’s awesome to see that dream become his reality! Jeff is passionate about what he does and the food he makes. You will not regret giving him a visit! You will be hooked! 5 stars for the food and 5 stars for customer service.

Chopstick Japan – Menu with Prices – 2801 Wilma Rudolph Blvd #8006, Clarksville

We often eat here every time we come to the mall. They are always handing out Chick Teriyaki samplers on a toothpick. They cook the Teriyaki and prepare sushi both in front of you. They give you a huge portion of Chicken Teriyaki and it is really good- it seems it lacks something, but I think that is because I cook with a lot of seasonings at home. I can’t eat it all so I eat the other half later. It is what we usually get and is only $5.99, but I do order their sushi and I like it, although I am no sushi expert (I’ve only tried sushi at two places so far). There are 35 choices. There are 7 sushi roll options, 6 Teriyaki options(3 meats), miso soup, tempuras, salads, specialty rolls, and drinks. Of course I’ll go back.. I always do. I took off only one star because as far as my palate is concerned, I would prefer if he didn’t sear the meat so much, but that is only preference, I think. They are also nice people. A man and a woman.

The Vault Kitchen & Market – Menu with Prices – 2112 Bull St, Savannah

I am on a quest for good sushi in Savannah. Sadly, I have not found it yet. Another strike here at The Vault. I’ve given this place two chances because of the good reviews, but it didn’t own up, at least not in the sushi department. Why must this city dumb down sushi? When half the items on the sushi menu contain cooked fish/meat, I don’t think you’re trying. And should I start on the rice? My roll, The Local Red, had so much rice that I pulled off as much as I could without deconstructing the roll and I had a huge portion of rice left on my plate (see the photo). I’m sorry, I know this is disrespectful, and I probably should have sent it back, but I really wanted to try it. We mentioned this to our server who told us she had heard this same complaint from several other diners. And when I mentioned The Vault to coworkers, they responded without being prompted, “Their sushi has too much rice!” Wake up and smell the coffee, Mrs. Bueller! And even more disappointing was that after I removed excess rice, the roll was still tasteless and bland. OK, so why did I still give The Vault, an “A-OK” 3 stars after the sushi debacle? First of all, their interior is pretty awesome. The restaurant is in an old bank and they used bits and baubles like safe deposit box fronts and teller windows in the decor and it is spot on. I recommend you sit inside if possible. The porch doesn’t have the same ambiance. The service is good as well. And the other things on the menu we’ve tried besides sushi; and there is a good selection otherwise, have proven to be very good. Besides my roll, I had the Spicy Squid Salad and I really enjoyed it. It was a balanced combination of squid and seaweed and just spicy enough. My husband had the Roasted Duck Dumplings and we both liked those as well. So my recommendation to you is to try The Vault but avoid the sushi. I will be returning and trying some of their other main courses.

Rock-n-Sake Bar & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2913 Metairie Rd, Metairie

Great food and Bartender. But horrible manager. The bartender covers an active bar as well as to go orders while also serving tables in bar area. AND. Manager expects bartender to answer phone orders from phone behind bar — while manager stands with his elbow on hostess stand watching phone ring continually. Manager has No teamwork or customer service. Wife and I Called 8 times before finally going into store to make to go order. Manager could see how busy bartender was and that bartender couldn’t even see blinking phone light when ringing. Doesn’t have phone ringing or blinking at hostess stand . Doesn’t take to go order and overburdens bartender with that extra duty. All while manager is resting his elbow on hostess stand. This bearded guy is useless and lazzzy. Then when I was waiting for my order I called my wife . Manager says to me, ” calling here to see if we answer phone?” Low class non professional. Used to go to Rock N Sake weekly but service and management ruining this place. Two weeks ago sat at sushi bar and had no one even speak to us for 20 minutes– timed. Got up and left. Suggest others avoid this place until they restore professional teamwork management committed to customer service. It’s a shame because sushi is so good. We lost two other great Asian restaurants on METAIRIE Rd due to poor management in past few years. Where’s owners?????

AH-SO Sushi & Steak – Menu with Prices – 6033 W Bell Rd, Glendale

A little common sense and courtesy. That’s all it would have taken by the management of this establishment for me to not even write this review of what proved to be a mediocre and basic sushi meal, rather than to turn it into a negative experience that warrants this negative review. I say this because the sole reason that I chose this spot was because they are offering a coupon on the website LocalFlavor for $10 off $30 or more of sushi, a coupon which I grabbed and activated before going to the restaurant. When there, I ordered even more sushi than I normally would have to hit the $30 spend requirement, and everything was brought out as expected. The sushi itself was decent – nothing amazing but certainly edible – and overall I was content with the value given the coupon. However when the time came to pay the bill, I presented the coupon to the server who responded that they “aren’t taking this coupon anymore” despite the fact that it’s literally active on the LocalFlavor website with an expiration date of 9/6/19 – clearly still valid. Naturally I requested that the server go relay my concern to the manager, fully expecting that they would agree to honor the coupon and I would at the same time acknowledge that they’re not honoring it anymore… of course also recommending that they remove it from the LocalFlavor site if it’s not going to be accepted. Instead, unbelievably the server comes back to tell me that the manager is not accepting the discount and will not honor it, and furthermore will not even come out to my table to discuss. As you can imagine, I was not happy at all about this and made it known in my tip… pretty sad on the manager’s part to effectively take it out on his server’s pocketbook like that. But then again, the server was acting pretty powerless and unapologetic about it as well, so whatever. Ultimately, this was just a garbage exercise in customer service on the part of Ah-So Sushi, and they have lost the chance that I’ll ever come back in the future. Not that I would have been rushing back anyway, as the place is highly unspectacular – in a very old, run-down strip mall, very cheap and old servewear, and most importantly unspectacular sushi. You can do much better at other sushi locations very close by, so don’t make the mistake of wasting your money at Ah-So Sushi. Especially don’t expect for your coupon to be honored. You have been warned!!

Sushi Nishi Ya – Menu with Prices – 1712 Victory Blvd, Glendale

Omakasi w/ no regrets. Such an amazing experience. No fake talk, trying to act fancy – simple, sit down, eat, enjoy, eat some more and make plans to come back. Tuna Sushi, Albacore Sushi,Salmon Sushi, Salmon Egg Sushi, Sweet Shrimp Sushi, Uni – Just to name a few – and each one prepared perfectly. Rice was prepared well, great amount of vinegar and you’re told when to use soy sauce (the taste of each piece is so good, you’ll regret taking away from it with soy). The Uni was my absolute favorite- probably some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m not usually a fan of skin or egg sushi but both were delicious. We were also served three different hand rolls, not as good as the sushi itself but still great with the perfect ratio. The price can get high – but you pay for what you get, you also have the option of ordering yourself at a table but you’d be making a mistake. When it comes to sushi, especially at a place where the chef takes pride in his work – you want to trust the chef.

Ichiban Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – # 1054, 3019, 3701 McKinley Pkwy, Buffalo

Whenever I am in Hamburg and want sushi I go to Fuji San, that’s been an easy go to spot. So this past time I decided to give another place a shot. I looked up sushi restaurants in the area and Ichiban came up. It had great reviews so I called in and place my order. I got a tuna avocado roll, salmon cucumber roll, yellowtail scallion roll and spicy tuna roll all with brown rice. I also ordered shrimp tempura, a small green salad and miso soup. I think the total came to $40, which was a fair price. I used my GPS to get to the restaurant and was surprised when I saw the outside, it was in a small strip mall and didn’t look that appealing from the outside. Parked, went inside and was surprised again because the inside was really nice, the outside was very deceiving and the restaurant was much larger once stepping inside. The food was just about ready when we got there. The rolls were awesome, they were enormous! Sushi really doesn’t fill me up, my boyfriend and I always joke that whenever we go out for sushi we leave and want to go for another dinner. These rolls definitely filled me up. I was impressed. They only serve low sodium soy, which is great, not sure if they offered gluten free soy or not, I didn’t ask. The miso soup was delicious and the ginger salad dressing was awesome. Overall my first take out experience here was really good and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again the next time I am in town and the mood strikes for sushi!
