We used Hot Shots Mobile Coffee Bar for our daughter’s wedding on October 8, 2016, and could not have been happier! Our event was held at an outdoor venue at a family farm in East Texas and we wanted a coffee bar/cocktail hour. I am a coffee fanatic and I can tell you the coffee was outstanding. During the planning phase, Chris was easily accessible through emails, texts and phone calls and was adaptable to our changing requests and growing guest numbers. He was a pleasure to deal with. We added the gelato bar for our guests and boy, was it a hit with all ages! The presentation and service were excellent. We were extremely pleased with everything they did for us and would HIGHLY recommend them.

Tasty Cakes and Confections – Menu with Prices – 7325 Elizabeth St, Cincinnati

Susie and Robin do an AMAZING job with their cakes and confections. My husband and I tried some samples from Susie and before we were even finished (before Susie had even left and we could discuss it) he said she was hired! Luckily, we were both completely on the same page. We even decided to have a dessert table for our wedding favors, and they were a huge hit. They provided a lot of guidance for numbers, what guests generally like, did setup and the cost was affordable. We had (deep breath) cake balls, buckeye balls, ginger molasses cookies, sugar cookies, cake balls of a number of flavors, cupcakes (instead of wedding cake) of whatever flavors we asked for (chocolate peanut butter, lemon, chocolate raspberry, white, etc), some pumpkin flavors…. these delicious mint things… I’m probably missing some stuff, but the desserts were a highlight of our reception for us (we both love our sweets) and for our guests. We’re also fans of the black raspberry chip Graeters flavor, and they did a wonderful version of that for our own cake for the cake cutting. I believe everything is made in-house (including their own fruit/other flavorings) and you can tell in the vibrant flavors. As is always important for a business that interacts with stressed wedding couples, they responded quickly to emails, were to the point, friendly and were adaptable while adding their expertise to the evenings plans. Can’t recommend them enough, and my husband is already bemoaning that we live out of town and can’t have their creations on a regular basis.

Donut Country – Menu with Prices – 1691 Middle Tennessee Blvd, Murfreesboro

Just experienced the worst customer service at the Middle Tennessee store location. In the middle of servicing me, the lady stopped & answered the phone. I didnâ??t mind waiting while she was on the phone since she was working there alone. Once she got off the phone, she proceeded to help me without changing her glove. I kindly asked her to change her glove since she just got done holding the phone with that same glove. She responds by saying â??Are you kidding me? This glove has nothing on it.â? While there was other people in line. I answered by saying â??maâ??am you just stepped away & used the glove for other things, so please change your gloveâ?. She made a huge deal out of it & tried refusing not to change her glove. I had to ask her several times too many, before she decided to change it. I then proceeded continue ordering & paid out. Even after I walked back to my car, I could hear her talking about me to the next guest. If this lady is the face of the company, giving out poor service, then I can no longer give my business to Donut Country. Great tasting donuts does not excuse the poor service. Highly disappointed in my visit today!

Glen Helen Amphitheater – Menu with Prices – 2575 Glen Helen Pkwy, San Bernardino

This place has really gone downhill in their ability to provide concerts with attractive performers. I am highly disappointed with having purchased the 2019 Lawn Pass for this venue. The venue has hosted only 2 real shows for which the pass could be used (Slipknot; Florida Georgia Line). They have not attempted to add shows to compensate those who purchased the 2019 Lawn Pass and have been among the worst at communicating back with emails and calls. I have sent in various emails and phone calls that have gone virtually unanswered by the venue. The least the venue could do is provide credit to those who lost money in purchasing the lawn pass (which were $150 +tax each) in the form of a refund or credit for future shows in 2020. After several months of complaining to the venue, I am still awaiting a reply. My advice to others is to be aware of the issue with this venue and avoid losing money on the future LawnPasses sold by this venue. So far, the 2 concerts would have been cheaper to attend if you bought a lawn ticket ( Slipknot $25 on Groupon, Florida Georgia Line $36.50 on LiveNation). What a rip-off. If there are others who are unsatisfied with the 2019 LawnPasses please make yourselves heard! You deserve credit back for this travesty of a concert season! I invite Glen Helen Amphitheater to publicly respond to my request on this platform if you have any scruples. Otherwise I’m done with this venue for good and invite others to be as well.

Bigo’s Express – Menu with Prices – 1233 E Alton Gloor Blvd #2, Brownsville

The food is really good. But you can not phone in an order. I just spent 20 minutes (litterally) and 6 calls. I was on hold for 10 mins ( 2 separate calls) then disconnected. The other calls I was sent to voice mail. When they actually answered nothing was said. No “hello” nothing. They just sat the phone down and you can hear things on the background. I even had the main restaurant call and they also got no answer. After 20 minutes I finally got to speak to someone and asked to speak to a manager and if course the manager was not there. And not one person there could speak English.

Glendale Womanâ??s Club – Menu with Prices – 7032 N 56th Ave, Glendale

Our family rented the Glendale Women’s Center for an after funeral luncheon. They were beyond amazing, nothing short of incredible. We were allowed entry the night before to do some setting up. The tables and chairs were already neatly placed and the establishment was clean. The woman was accommodating to our requests and so helpful. They helped to set up the day of, serve some food, went around to guests offering refill drinks, then came back around to collect trash. This was an extremely hard day for every person in attendance and these ladies alleviated a lot of stress that would have otherwise fallen onto other members of the family who were grieving. Bravo. I highly recommend!!

Juice Nation – Menu with Prices – 111 S Washington Square, Lansing

I currently live in DC and came to Lansing for the weekend. I decided I wanted to do a juice cleanse during my visit. So I reached to Juice Nation who came highly recommended. I initially contacted them by phone because the website was down. I spoke with Tameko and she asked me to email her so she could share the menu with me. We exchanged a few emails over 2 days and she was able to answer all of my questions. I was able to order and pay for my cleanse by phone which was ready for pickup when I arrived on Friday. All of the juices are 16oz and come in glass bottles. It consisted of 5 flavors. One is repeated daily. They were all pretty good and easy to drink. I only struggled with the one with cayenne pepper because I have an extremely sensitive pallet! Surprisingly the Beet-Ade was my favorite. I HATE beets. The juices were not thick which helped. They provide 6 juices daily for the cleanse and also suggest drinking 64oz of water which is a struggle but worth it. Definitely check them out!

King Charles Inn – Menu with Prices – 237 Meeting St, Charleston

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to write one in the case of the King Charles Inn. I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone even if it was free. First I would like to start with some positives. The maintenance workers were nice, honest and clearly working very hard to keep up with the many mechanical issues and demands at this hotel. Second, the front desk workers (who ended up refunding our money for two nights before we moved to another hotel for our third and final night) were understanding. I do feel that they were just doing their best to handle the many issues at this hotel. There were many missteps that I just won’t get into because I feel sorry for the staff who are working for a hotel owner who only cares about turning a profit and not about pleasing his guests thereby creating repeat customers. Third, free parking. Now the negatives… The first issue is that the air conditioner units are old, outdated and DO NOT WORK in the guest rooms (a/c is fine in the actual building- but not the rooms). We were told by an employee that the owner of the hotel is aware of this problem but refuses to remedy it because, even with all of the room comps and guest complaints, he is still turning a profit. Therefore it is not worth his while to shut down rooms and invest in upgraded a/c units for guest rooms. Completely unacceptable especially when it is 95 degrees outside and 100% humidity. This is a despicable mentality when it comes to running a business in a town that relies on tourism. The employees are ALL aware of this problem. They keep box fans and portable a/c units on hand to give to guests when they complain. They were out of the units so we were offered two box fans- one of which was covered in an unidentifiable gook (gross). Second issue: the cleanliness of the guest rooms, in our experience, was unacceptable. Stains on the floor, makeup on the sheets, blood on the pillowcases, hair on the bathroom floor and they never took away dirty glasses (again, gross). We tried to make the best of it, but all of this was completely intolerable as we invested a considerable amount of our vacation time dealing with this issue, making phone calls, waiting for maintenance, etc. In the end, we were comped for both nights and moved to another hotel (Mills Wyndham which I highly recommend). However, the two day experience at this hotel set our entire vacation on a negative trajectory- a vacation we were on with our children that we had been looking forward to for months. I hope anyone who is presently staying there and is experiencing these same issues reads this and demands their money is back as they are 100% entitled to it.

Love At First Bite Catering – Menu with Prices – 18281 Gothard St #108, Huntington Beach

I have nothing short of accolades, kudos and applause for Love at First Bite catering. The team – Donnie and Breen – were absolutely spectacular. I can’t express how over-the-top pleased I was with everything that they did for me and my guests at my 40th birthday “prom.” My guests were also floored. Donnie and Breen went out of their way to make it a spectacular evening, and I think they got a few chuckles throughout the night, as well (It was quite a scene). They arrived on time and got right to work with the rest of my “Prom Committee.” They were set up in no time and then offered timely solutions to the rest of the set up that I had planned. Donnie made a special effort to make my “extra food” table look beautiful and match the décor. I was impressed that this was even thought of, as we did not discuss this extra attention when I hired LAFB – phenomenal. They both paid attention to details all night – if a guest needed another drink, it was refilled; it there was a spill on the floor, it was taken care of; when the cake (which was a very complicated cake, to say the least) needed to be cut, they were all over it. The food that I chose for them to serve was fantastic! There were plenty of leftovers, too! I was able to package it up and take a good portion to the beach the next day for recovery with friends, which made for an incredible picnic. My guests were pleased and I was pleased. We wanted for nothing the entire evening. Would I hire LAFB again? Absolutely. And I will continue to sing their praises. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better birthday celebration and the LAFB team was 100% part of that – they made everything even better than I’d imagined. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

CW Asian Dishes & Tea Lounge – Menu with Prices – 23730 Westheimer Pkwy Suite H, Katy

I really don’t mean to trouble you But my cats wondered if they could cuddle you And then after they’re done Let’s get Boba for fun Out in Katy, let’s go to CW! At first I thought it was just my joke that this was named after the kids TV network and then I look at the TV in here and they have the CW on. Coincidence? Anyway I’m not a huge fan of the place even though the woman is extremely friendly which is largely because the products are not great and the wait time was ridiculous because people kept calling in orders for fake Chinese food ahead of us. Nice job there. However what I will say is that even though the milk tea was one of the less impressive I’ve had anywhere, the Mojito was pretty tasty and enjoyable and we would definitely come back for that. It was also generous in size and price. So I can’t possibly give this lovely lady less than four. Basically a very busy Chinese restaurant that also makes some fancy drinks. Drinks took absolutely ever because the woman was taking phone calls and phone orders and we were the last priority on the list and it took about 20 minutes just to get our order taken. But when she did make the drinks they were iffy. However, she was very friendly despite her cluelessness over how to handle in-store customers over phone calls. Cute little place and we might even come back. Perhaps the weirdest thing about this place is that it is actually named after the CW TV network as far as I can tell because they’re playing it all the time. Either that or it’s just a weird coincidence and they’re taking advantage of that coincidence. In any case, the milk tea is premade, and iffy, and the fruit teas are, well, meh. Now I can’t see what my next review is, but it could be worse, I could be Barbara Bush, and I’d have to CW all the time.

JBC Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 5821 Femrite Dr # H, Madison

Have ordered coffee for my mother twice from them and she has loved it every time. Their customer service is amazing and they really take the time to listen and reply to any requests. Most recently I had placed an order and due to the auto fill on my phone my momâ??s address had gotten a bit botched. I realized soon enough and contacted them to correct it. With no issue or delay they corrected the address and my mom got her delicious coffee with no problem! Will continue to order from them no doubt about that!

The Pour House on Derry – Menu with Prices – 6200 Derry St, Harrisburg

Extremely disappointed in the advertisements for the Plant Night by Yaymaker hosted at the Pour House. There’s a Groupon for 2 people for $50 – WHICH YOU THINK IS A DEAL… nah! Nope… hustle game… You have to go to their website to make reservations…. www.yaymaker.com … there’s no one to talk to … and no one replies to any of my 3 emails that were sent… Once you go out to the website… you have to select “how many”…. on you select 2 people… it populates the cost $90 …. enter in your Groupon information and they only take off $35 for each person… which makes you have to pay additional $21.20 for “MATERIAL” …. BUT … if I would of just went directly to the website I would of gotten this cheaper!! First time ever – where Groupon was more than the actual event. To say the least extremely DISAPPOINTED!!! Even if I like the plant night – I will never return… because this shows peoples character and trying to cheat the system!

Canal Lounge – Menu with Prices – 22 Atwater Ave, Montreal

I live across the canal and have come to this place on 3 separate occasions with out of town guests. Selection is minimal but it’s fine. I went in a group of 4 last night. We had finished dinner and thought it would be nice to have a nightcap so we mosied on over. The outdoor spots were taken but being a Sunday night, there was only one other couple on the boat so we took a seat inside. The boat does have an odor but it’s tolerable. My 3 other guests ordered a drink and I perused the menu but didn’t feel like ordering one at that moment. i told our server i’m ok for now. A few minutes go by and when they were ready to bring our drinks over, the bartender calls across the boat. “You aren’t ordering a drink?” I said in a bit but i’m ok for now. He responds: “Who comes to a bar and doesn’t order anything?!” This took me completely by surprise and I didn’t know if he was joking, as my back was to the bar, my brother had witnessed them discussing it and looking like they had attitude so he said. Why would you give her attitude when we’re all ordering drinks? We all thanked them and walked out. This bartender was extremely rude and i will never return to this place. I could have been a designated driver, or pregnant. It was extremely disappointing and have never been treated like this at any establishment. He clearly needs some training in customer service.
