This review is based solely on the service. The food was excellent. I took my mother here for her birthday, along with my mother was my wife, daughter (6 years old), and son (1 year old). My wife, mom, and daughter all ordered crab boils while I got a poboy and my son got a chicken nugget basket. The food came out but not my son’s chicken nugget basket. My son gets upset if everyone gets to eat and not him (he is also very hungry), I figured that it must be coming out soon they just couldn’t carry everything. So I put him in my lap and feed him some of my sandwich but was unable to give him any fries because they were cajun. Once my sandwich was gone he started crying because the food was all gone, and his basket had not arrived yet. I asked our server where was my son’s food. He says let me look into it, five minutes go by and nothing. So I ask someone else what is happening and they have no idea. At this point my son is crying and I have to walk him around to calm him down and I can’t finish my meal. I again ask our server where my son’s meal is he says “the kitchen lost the ticket”. I assume he just forgot to put it in and is blaming the kitchen. I say well my fries are now cold because I have spent the last 10 minutes walking my crying son around, can I get some new ones. He says yes and takes them away. Finally my son’s meal comes after everyone is almost finished, 20 minutes later. I then ask if I can have my fries. At this point the “team leader” comes and says if I want new fries I’ll have to pay for them because I had eaten some. If I knew I had to pay for a new basket I would have just kept the cold ones. I ask for a manager and he says there is no manager and he is highest ranking person there. He was very patronizing, could care less that my son was crying because his meal came 20 minutes late and that my food was cold because of that. Best he could do was remove the 20 minute late meal off my bill and take $1 off my meal that I never got to finish….will not be coming back to this restaurant ever.

Market St Grill – Menu with Prices – 4304 N Market St, Wilmington

They are really good with food presentation… every picture I have seen the plating looks great! Fairly new restaurant in Wilmington in a landmark location which was the Post House. I love the renovated clean modern look that still holds the charm of what once was. I have high hopes and when I return the next time I can update my review with more stars but it’s clear they have not gotten their footing completely yet. I ordered the Whiting platter for breakfast which has the fried fish and home fries. I asked for the side of 2 eggs scrambled with American cheese, however it was made with cheddar cheese without even asking if that was ok. The cooking area is right in front of you so you can see as your meal is being prepared. I saw that my fish was fried then sat in the basket for about 15 minutes before it was plated and moved to sit under a heat lamp until it was served… about another 5 minutes. My home fries were cold. I noticed these were precooked and in a container where the chef quickly “heated” on the grill; obviously not long enough. We didn’t get silverware until about 4 minutes after the server dropped off our food so maybe that added to it being cold when I went to eat. My daughter loves eggs and she told me she only ate her omelette because she was hungry. The fish was cooked well but bland which lead to hardly eating half of my meal. The grits were cooked perfectly but cold! The watermelon lemonade and peach lemonade were fantastic and best part of the meal honestly. The server kept forgetting things and considering it wasn’t that busy I would hate to see when it is. Ultimately I am from Wilmington and want to always support so I wish well to the proprietor. I just will give it more time before I return.

Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q – Menu with Prices – 2040 Hamilton Pl Blvd Suite 150, Chattanooga

We have been to the Atlanta locations for this Bar-B-Q place and it is usually a hit or miss experience. It had been awhile so we decided to try out the new location in our hometown. It was a Sunday and fortunately we were able to get there before the Sunday church crowd and get a table. Despite getting a table, it did take a bit longer than expected for our server to appear. Just when I was looking at the time to make note of time waited, he appeared a few minutes later. We placed our order and noted that the place wasn’t very busy yet. There were a few people who arrived we had ordered. Our server brought out a basket of corn bread muffins with butter. I like corn bread with a little sweetness, but these muffins were overtly sweet and the butter was sweet also. While I love eating bread, even I pushed the basket away not wanting to eat any of them. After awhile, my spouse and I commented on how long it was taking to receive our food. The tables around us, who had arrived considerably after us, had already received their food. One table was actually almost finished with their food and was waiting on the check. Our server came to our table and said that our food was almost out, and I commented I hope so considering the tables who arrived after us already got their food.I watched as he went into the kitchen and was trying to figure out where our meal was. It definitely wasn’t ready, because he was back there for awhile then finally I saw him round the corner from the kitchen with our food. Only thing he said that yes, you were right, the kitchen had a problem with our order. My husband said that his pork on his sandwich was okay, and the coleslaw was very oniony. My pulled BBQ chicken sandwich had a lot of fatty and dry pieces, although the side of BBQ beans were tasty. At this point I will note, perhaps if a manager had come to our table and apologized for the length of time we had to wait for our food it may have made an irritating experience a bit better. That it was just an one-oft moment and wouldn’t happen again. But instead, it more or less seemed to me that we should just expect it to be part of the experience. I don’t accept it. I may not demand for a manager, but I will not be back nor will I ever recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Wild Thyme Oceanside Eatery – Menu with Prices – 601 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

Last night we dined at Wild Thyme at the Atlantic hotel, Lauderdale beach(we are locals and currently staying hotel during home renovation). Over the years this space has been at least 6 restaurants that I can recall, some good and some not so much.. Last night was certainly not a good experience . . Firstly, I will say that there were only 10 guests max. In the whole place- . While our server was very good, the kitchen could not get their act together. Apps came out fairly soon after ordering and all was good there. BUT then it went downhill. Our waiter visited our table twice to say the food was coming up soon. It hadnâ??t been long so we were fine. Then we realized after some time( like 30+) minutes that out food was nowhere to be seen.. We asked our waiter and he walked over to the kitchen window to see what was happening. Then we see the manager over there too. He begins tapping loudly in the pass through saying to the cook â?? fire the filet, get that on the grill now!â? So, after 40 minutes these guys ( seemingly) laughing and joking around in the kitchen hadnâ??t started cooking our food! I had only ordered a salad with grilled chicken on top but my husband had a filet and lobster coming! The server rushed over to apologize multiple times as well as the manager. Finally my salad arrives ( still waiting on my husbands food) and I cut a piece of chicken and bite into it and it is cold- like not room temp. but like been in the refrigerator cold!! Seriously. So, I ask waiter if itâ??s supposed to be cold or hot- hot he says… he takes it back, mortified. Then my husband gets his food and itâ??s ok- steak medium to well opposed to medium-rare as requested. Lobster tail, over cooked!! $59 for his meal. . My chicken and salad then arrived and it was good, hot, etc. server apologized again and again and said heâ??d get us a few drinks, take my salad off the check and give us a dessert. He did and the desserts were very good.. So, 2 hours later and $98 not including a tip, we will probably not be eating here again. Diablo & Sons Saloon Menu with Prices 246 N 8th St, Boise

Diablo & Sons had great service, a creative and delicious menu and a nice patio on 8th and Idaho. We would absolutely recommend enjoying your meal at Diablo & Sons. To elaborate further, our trip downtown for tacos somewhere on an outdoor patio began with a disappointing visit to another business located on the cor. ner of 8th and Bannock where the only two available outdoor tables hadn’t been either cleared or cleaned. When we asked the server if he would be willing to wipe it down, he refused, then justified it with a comment to the effect of, “It’s only dust” and “Trust me, it’s not really dirty.” So, we informed him that we were not staying, to which he replied, “Good.” This is the beginning of our story with Diablo & Sons, who saved our dining experience today. After the dirty table snafu, we walked over to Diablo & Sons, enjoyed some appetizers, house crafted beverages, and a few tacos – all served with a clean table and exceptional hospitality. Thank you Diablo & Sons!

The Lost Cajun – Southlands Menu with Prices 6105 S Main St, Suite 104-F, Aurora

Our first experience with Lost Cajun was years ago at the original Frisco restaurant. With the expansion of locations we were thrilled to get one in Southlands, we love the food. We have never had a bad dining experience there until last night. Our server was a pleasant, eager to please guy who somehow added a $13 item to our final bill when the card was run. He apologized and went to find his manager who had apparently stepped out…more profuse apologies. The manager reappears, server tells us the transaction is being deleted. Twenty minutes later we?re still waiting for a corrected check. The manager is wandering around, didn?t come talk to us, the server kept talking to him, the manager reamed the server…we?re still waiting! Server was so upset and frustrated, he offered to pay our bill, we told him no way. Another five minutes goes by the manager finally appears at our table, tells me the incorrect check was deleted, hands me his card and comps our meal. Thank you but we offered to pay, we were upset mostly at the way our server was treated. He clearly needed his manager?s authority to correct our check but was ignored and chastised instead! I felt so bad for him and I told the manager I didn?t appreciate how he was treating his employee. No apology from the guy. It wasn?t about the comp (we tipped our server still) it was the entire process or lack of in correcting the check and the treatment of his server.

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 535 Ridge Rd S, Wichita

We had a poor experience at this Cheddar’s. It has been open a few months but I don’t think I’ll be giving it another chance. Our spinach dip was not evenly heated, and when my burger came out I took a bite only to find the bottom bun covered in mold. Our server never came back by to check on us after several minutes, so the moldy burger just sat in front of us. My husband flagged down a manager or host or someone like that after several minutes of trying. He recognized it was bad and took it to remake without even asking me anything like if I wanted a different entree (which I did). I didn’t want any of that same bread from their kitchen. When the new one was brought out after several minutes no conversation was made with us about the incident. Our server was never even told. The french fries tasted really good and were hot but the rest of the meal was so-so. With the poor level of service and total disinterest of management in talking to me about the mold they served to our table, we don’t want to spend our money there again. There are too many other good options close by – spend your money at Abuelos, Carlos, Rib Crib, or Cracker Barrel instead. All would be better choices.

Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 56 W Chippewa St, Buffalo

We had the absolute worst dining experience. Whenever we travel to Buffalo Bacchus is a must, as we’ve enjoyed years of dining here. Tonight the server spilled the juices from a mussels plate all over my partner’s hat. He looked at the spill and quickly walked away with the empty starter plates. I had to get up and ask another server to please bring me a wet cloth to clean the hat. As I was walking to the rest room our server saw me and offered club soda to clean it with. All is well…accidents happen…we’re not going to make a huge fuss. Anyway, we wait and wait and wait for our food. We finally ask another server to please check on our food. He says “it’s coming right out”. Several minutes later we track down our server and ask him to please check on our food. He goes to the kitchen and doesn’t come out for several more minutes. At this point we’re pretty sure that our food has been sitting at the pass waiting on our server. Sure enough he brings out 3 cold dishes. So why did I give 5 stars? Because a manager (I think his name was Garrett) handled the situation in a manner that was above and beyond. So my rating represents the countless great meals and services we’ve experienced here over the years AND for the manner in which our unpleasant experience was handled. It’s not how you handle issues when it’s easy, it’s how you handle your customers when things are difficult…and Bacchus/Garrett stepped up. We’ll be back next time we’re in Buffalo.

Junn all you can eat sushi – Menu with Prices – 1320 E Broadway Rd STE 101, Tempe

The sushi quality has been inconsistent and this was my 3rd visit. On my other 2 visits, I had an excellent dining experience and had an amazing server. She was patient while I decided what I wanted and even reccomend a few sushi rolls to me. She was my server the first two times i visited and I had an excellent experience. Last night my boyfriend and I went again and we had a different server, although the girl that waited on us the other times was still there. Upon being sat, we saw our server sparingly and she never came by to check on the food and never came by to refill our drinking glasses (water). Ironically, the girl who previously waited on me was very attentive and helpful. At one point, my boyfriend ordered a Volcano Roll and after around 15 minutes, our server asked if we got all we ordered and if we wanted anything else. We told her we were waiting on a volcano roll but that would be the last of our food. She said she would go check in the kitchen because sometimes it takes them a while to bake, understandable. She comes back 15 min later and we still don’t have the roll, she again says she will go check in the kitchen, we hear nothing back. ANOTHER 15 min goes by and the girl that was not my waitress this visit but was on the other visits comes to our table to check on us and we again say we are waiting on a volcano roll and it has been over 30 minutes. I see as she goes to check with the sushi bar about what is going on with our roll…. They had finished the roll and had it set out on the counter for pickup and our actual server paid 0 attention and it remained there. I then saw the girl that helped us, not our waitress, go to the manager and tell him how we had been waiting on a sushi roll for over 30 min and it was literally left out on the table this whole time!!! The manager comes up to us and apologizes but just wants to make sure we actually want the roll. We had been sitting here over 45 min waiting for a single roll and the manager just wanted to make sure we still wanted it? Did nothing to appease the situation. Our server only came by once to drop off/pick up the check, and she nor the manager tried to make it a better experience. I would not reccomend coming here on a Friday night or anytime you would expect a restaurant to be busy, they do not seem to be capable of handling a dinner rush. I might come back to dine here but I will request that specific server that has continued to go above and beyond to help the patrons of the restaurant while all others, including the manager, drop the ball. I will also be avoiding this restaurant on weekends and dinner times.

Shaver’s Catering – Menu with Prices – 270 Ockley Dr, Shreveport

This little place was recommended to me by a native for a quick and delicious bite to eat as I was passing through town. It doesn’t look like much, but the food and the service were excellent! I ordered the shrimp basket. The. Shrimp. Were. HUGE. They were battered and fried to perfection. The basket was complimented with three hush puppies, more fries than I could eat, and enough coleslaw to say that I had a vegetable with my meal. They were a little shy on beverages on this particular evening, but there was a cold can of Dr Pepper located for me. Now, there is really no place to sit, not that I saw (it was dark outside), except for a picnic table under the canopy in the parking area. My meal was delivered there to me by the friendly staff and I enjoyed my dinner al fresco. My meal was served in a styrofoam clamshell complete with plastic utensils and condiment packets. I get the idea that most folks take their food to go, or order in a catered capacity, as the name suggests. Overall – great food, friendly staff. I will visit again next time I am out that way.

Seagate Seafood & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 4420 Capital Blvd, Raleigh

Seems like I am going to be the odd man out on this one. My wife and I went there for lunch yesterday and we were not impressed at all. We ordered simply since we’ve never been here before. She ordered Calamari off the lunch menu with the salad bar. I ordered Flounder and Popcorn Shrimp with a side of sweet potato fries. The salad bar was pretty boring, but I didn’t come there for salad. Our food took more than a half hour to get to the table and it was incomplete when it got there. We asked our server 2 times how much longer the food would take, but he kept insisting it was the kitchen’s fault. There were 6 tables in the restaurant at the time we were there. If it was the kitchen’s fault they must have just thrown our order away. Fried food takes less than 8 minutes. Our server was new and I am betting he pocketed the ticket. Meaning he simply didn’t put it in on time and then proceeded to blame the kitchen. I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. I know when the BS is flowing. I hate it when servers will not take responsibility for their own mistakes. My wife’s meal was horrible the batter on the calamari was not fully fried, so it was soggy. Mine was very dark and very greasy. They either left mine in the fryer too long or the oil needed to be changed. The hushpuppies were hard as a rock and totally inedible. Finally to make matters even worse it took another 15 minutes to get our check and get out of there. After explaining to the manager all that went wrong, she was kind enough to comp the 2 lunches. It was a very nice gesture and much appreciated, but we won’t go back. It’s not worth the aggravation.

Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 25 Carlson Ct, Toronto

Great experience tonight at Jack Astor’s. My family and I went out to a great dinner but had a very minor inconvenience with some cold fries. We weren’t upset but when we mentioned it to the server they were promptly replaced with fresh hot fries. Within a few minutes a very professional and caring manager showed up on her own to apologize for the inconvenience and also offered to remove the items from our bill. She really didn’t have to do that since that wasn’t our intention. We had already had them replaced which was more than enough of a compensation. We saw her again when leaving the restaurant and thanked her for her kind gesture. She said that they want their customers to have complete satisfaction. We were very satisfied and were touched by her kindness. We’ll be sure to be back. From the hostess and servers to the manager this place really knows how to treat a customer. From a minor inconvenience to a memorable dinner experience means a lot. They all deserve kudos! Thank you ð???

Rock N Roll Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2500 Clinton Ave W B, Huntsville

I have enjoyed this place most of the time I have been, but I probably won’t order take-out from here again. I called in my food and was given an estimated wait of about 15 minutes. I get there 15 minutes later, and they tell me to have a seat because it wasn’t quite ready. I noticed some go-to boxes sitting on the counter and they continue to sit for another 20 minutes after I get there. Finally my food comes up, the server grabs the rice that had been sitting the entire time to go with it. I told her I would like the rice re-made since it was sitting so long, and they did and it didn’t take too much longer. I was rather unhappy that they tried to give me cold food though. They were not busy enough for a small to-go order to take so long. And there was NO manager anywhere to be seen. I was equally frustrated by the fact that whenever I needed something, I had to ask a busy server who seemed to be entirely too busy to help me. Not the servers fault though, there was no bartender, and no manager nearby to help out and that is really what caused this.
