Came across this bar for the first time tonight even though it’s 3 blocks away from my apartment. I’ve been in NY 3 years and it seems as though there are a dozen new bars that open each month in this area. Super nice bartender, great beer and cocktails; they had one of my favorite gins which is a San Francisco Bay Area gin that is rare in these parts ( St. George Gin) and it makes me happy when I’m home sick. A good non pretentious bar with reasonably priced drinks…plus the bartender gave us a shot before we left, which I appreciated after only having 2 drinks and not really having a conversation with him. Just a nice gesture that didn’t go unnoticed.

St. George Donut Shop – Menu with Prices – 3012 S National Ave, Springfield

I was amused at the review that said he was never going to eat there because they were headed out for a catering gig when he got there. In Dallas, if you want to get Barbecue at Sonny Bryants, you best get there early, because they only make what the smoker will hold, and when it’s gone, they go home. There are TWO barbecue houses within driving distance of my home, I’ve been to both and been told I was ‘too late for brisket’. That’s how it is when you know what you are doing and are near the top of the game. That’s what I get from St George. If you don’t really appreciate the difference, go to dickey’s. Same money, but they won’t run out. To me, it’s worth a phone call ahead to get something that’s not cookie cutter ‘cue. And hey, I eat at dickey’s, I’m not putting down, they got a reliable process and product. But when I’m in Springfield, there is only one St.George. I eat there, and I’m particular about barbecue.

George’s Bakery – Menu with Prices – 308 Grafton St, Worcester

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews for George’s. This is a great little place with an amazing assortment of middle eastern food-hard to believe they can pack so much in such a small space. I have eaten their grape leaves, both with and without meat, their koosa, tabouleh, baklava and many, many other things bit I ALWAYS make sure to pick up some spinach or meat pies-they are fantastic. One pie makes for an entire meal and they are very reasonably priced. Nice, accomodating staff too. A few grocery stores used to carry some of their food but sadly stopped so now I have to go straight to the source. If you live in or are visiting Worcester and like middle eastern food, you will love George’s-and it’s not far off the Mass Pike exit at Grafton Street.

George’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 161 N Limestone, Lexington

I hate to write a bad review for George’s, because it’s the kind of place I want to love: a small, local sandwich shop with an attached grocery. I ate there once with high hopes, but it ended up being one of the worst meals I can recall eating. I ordered a simple Italian sub, which was decent enough, but tasted like something I could easily get at a place like Subway or Blimpie. The potato salad that accompanied my sandwich was the worst I’ve ever had in my life: it tasted old and smelled like sour pickles (which, I admit, sounds strange). My friend who accompanied me ordered a hamburger, ate two bites, and refused to eat any more. I stopped eating my sub because the bread on one end tasted kind of stale. Really, it’s the small things work against George’s. The regulars seem to feel very at-home there (it has an inexplicably loyal fanbase that crowd the place at lunchtime), but the service we received was curt and unnecessarily short. The environment has no frills, and by that I mean it feels like a school cafeteria. And this might seem like nitpicking, but it really takes away the potential charm from a place when you can see the guy working behind the grill grab a bag of frozen fries and drop them into the fryer. There is one thing that is quite nice about George’s, and that is the grocery selection, which means that you can choose from any number of sweet or salty treats to accompany your meal. It’s nice to have more than fries, chips, and a soda fountain to choose from. Sadly, however, that’s not nearly enough to bring me back, and I doubt I’ll ever go to George’s again.

Miss Cue North – Menu with Prices – 216 New Towne Square Dr, Toledo

Been here before, nice place, nice tables, good service. But last night the bartender was rude from the beginning, but just brushed it off and ignored it at first. She gave attitude to most people in my party at different times and even other groups where talking about the rude bartender. She charged for doubles, when he didnt ask for a double pour. He even came back to the table saying he thought he pissed the bartender off by asking for less Sprite since it was in a tall glass. She did ask if we wanted to play by the hour when we were already 10 feet away walking to the table, so we were charged by the hour, when we could have paid an all night fee for more than half the cost. And no discount for ladies night since men played at the table. Just be aware of the underlying charges and attitude.

Six26 – Lounge and Rooftop – Menu with Prices – 128 Christopher Columbus Dr, Jersey City

This bar has a nice welcoming atmosphere but the service is just not there. On the rooftop the bartenders were nice, bit slow. The small bites we ordered took about 40 minutes to come out but she was very apologetic and went back a couple of times to check on it. I understand that there are a lot of working parts to make a restaurant work and it wasn’t her fault so I didnt hold it against her. Then another bartender was tossing around a hand fan and hit my friend in the face but was very apologetic and even gave us a round of shots to make up for it. If this was all that had happened I still would have given it 4 stars. We went down to the basement to cool down and were having a blast until I went to get a drink. The tall white Male bartender with light hair and a long beard in the back bar was violent and nasty. I had waited about 15 minutes to get close enough to the bar to order when I saw a space open up at the end of the bar near the door to get behind the bar. I made my way over there and had to stand in front of the door for maybe 10 seconds while someone was getting around me. The bartender stepped over to the door slammed it in to me several times quickly and said “move bitch” before stepping back into the same spot he was just in. HE DIDNT EVEN NEED TO GO THROUGH THE DOOR HE WAS JUST BEING AN ASS. I actually have a scrape on my hand and bruise on my knee from him hitting me with the edge of the door. When I went to tell my friends some girl overheard and said the same bartender and just been nasty to her and called her a hoe when she tried to get a drink. Slow but apologetic service can be forgiven. You cant always control everything around. However, you can always control your own actions, and physically assaulting a customer is completely unacceptable.

Ideal Hotdog – Menu with Prices – 1135 W Alexis Rd, Toledo

I’ve eaten at Ideal hundreds of times. I worked down the street at the GM plant for 24 years. Every time I’ve eaten there it was a real treat! At least once a week we would order carry out of a dozen or two dozen chili macs for the crew. George, the owner, was always there overseeing the food preparation. Breakfast is as good as it gets with homemade hash browns from a large pile kept replenished on the grill. Eggs cooked to order and always perfect. The perfect meal after getting off of 3rd shift at 7:30 am before the drive home to sleep. The chili mac is the best ever made, I’ve consumed 100’s of orders. The chili mac has a most unique flavor of any chili mac on the planet. Finely ground perfectly seasoned meat sauce, pinto beans, onions and shredded yellow cheddar cheese makes a memorable meal. The chili dogs are fantastic as everything else served at Ideal Hotdog. Treat yourself and tell George, if he is still around, that Big Ed sent you. You’ll not be disappointed

Kat’s Tavern – Menu with Prices – 901 NW 64th St #7612, Oklahoma City

Just FYI, that review about George was a lie. I’m so angry at you for letting him go over a fake review. Literally George is the best KJ I’ve ever been around. He always keeps it professional and puts everyone in order. The review that cost him his KJ spot at Kat’s perfectly fits my experience with the girl who filled in for George the one time I’ve ever seen him miss. Except she was even worse than what this guy said. She started out the night with my group of friends going and then we didn’t get to sing the rest of the night. Instead, she allowed people to buy her shots and drinks in exchange for letting them cut the line, and then she also started accepting money to allow people to cut. But I think my favorite part of watching that catastrophe was when she would completely disappear during people’s songs so she could make out with and dance with some random guy who was hitting on her. She went outside with him while someone was performing and someone had to go look for her when the song was over. Compare that with what I know of George from personal experience, and you paint a pretty sad picture of yourself. You got rid of the wrong person, and because of that, you also got rid of my rather large and very regular group. AJ is the best thing y’all have going for you now, and you had better treat her well. And since I couldn’t reply to that guy’s review myself, you get to have this on your business’s page. Enjoy.

Aisling Bog Pub – Menu with Prices – 7089 N Marks Ave #109, Fresno

Stopped in here with some friends, and I am so so so happy we did. It’s a nice, quiet beer only pub that reminds me of home. When I say home, I don’t mean Ireland, I mean Portland, Oregon. haha Lots of places like this back home, with owners that truly care about what they are selling, and an environment that is unpretentious, and very welcoming. Murphy’s on tap? Yes please! Got to talkin with the owner as well as other patrons, and I’ll definitely go back again, even by myself in case a book and a beer sound like a plan. Please give them a try, and if you’re looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy a drink and some conversation, you’ll be very pleased!

Belfast Mill Irish Pub – Menu with Prices – 144 Brevard Court Suite A, Charlotte

When I get off work I go to Belfast Mills and let me tell you it’s an Irish Pub that has all your Irish foods but what really makes it a real star in a real winner of a spot to go to is that the bartender Owen he’s got a Irish brogue to his voice to speech and he’s a young man that sharp witty and knows what he’s doing you don’t wait long but when no one’s there he buzzes to everybody and make sure everyone’s taken care of he’s quick on the draw and a smart young man I’m always welcome when I go there and I’m always happy to go soon as my foot hits the inside of the door my beer is being handed to me he knows what I want and he knows I love a nice cold beer and he has it ready for me Owen the bartender top of the line Belfast Mill is the place to be for great Irish whiskey great bartender and ice cold beer.

Gray’s Place – Menu with Prices – 3682 Delaware Ave, Buffalo

Grays Place is a nice and a friendly environment, with nice well served bartenders except for the infamous guy manager that everyone “loves” so much and keeps on coming back for. You know why, right? By way overpoured drinks, and feeding women shots over and over and over again to KEEP. THEM. COMING. BACK, and when you get to messed up and don’t pay for your drinks anymore because you need water because remember these drinks are “special” drinks, he’ll kick you out of his bar and doesn’t care what happens to you next , won’t even call an Uber. He is selfish and misogynistic and a chauvinist. I myself, along with a very good friend have had several bad experiences at this place with the same guy bartender. I have been blackout drunk before two or three drinks, and have no recollection on how I got home. One time I threw up in the bathroom and instead of having sympathy or at least Calling for me to get a ride, he kick me and my friend out and let us fend for ourselves. Another incident as I was there celebrating my birthday and we met a girl who went from 0 to 100 very quickly on what I saw to be two drinks. She became very black out drunk and The guy bartender kicked her out saying he didnt care if she died, as long as she left his bar now. I was shocked by his comment, and only wanted to see this girl go home safe. I always thought he was a semi-decent guy, but now I see that that isn’t true and I saw a new side to him. So, if you want to go to Grays, go right ahead but you know what you’re walking into, or don’t go on Wednesday Thursday and Saturday nights.

BabyBolo’z Cilantro Hot Sauces and Marinades – Menu with Prices – 2805 Pinecroft Rd B, Greensboro

First and foremost, it is important to say that this is NOT an eat-in establishment, nor is it a place where you can just walk in, order, and walk out with food in 15-20 minutes. That said, if you think ahead and call this place, George will make you any Cuban inspired dish you could desire, and it is nearly guaranteed to be the best you’ve ever had. One thing he usually does have ready to walk in and grab is his selection of fresh salsa. He makes all of this himself, and it is absolutely the best you are going to find. I put it on everything at home, especially pork or any tex-mex themed dishes. Also goes great on eggs.

Mr B’s Big Scoop – Menu with Prices – 8399 SW 80th St Suite 16, Ocala

My Parents live in OTOW so I’ve been here a handful of times when I come from NC to visit. It’s cheaper to buy grocery store ice cream for the price. In NC for less we have homemade icecream shops and you get huge portions, can’t say the same for this place. They never seem to have but the basic favors. I go in here because it makes my dad happy and if he’s happy I’m happy. But ripping off the seniors is not what makes me happy and not very nice to do! Hopefully Colon puts something else way better in place of this shop because I told my parents I would rather parch than go here lol.
