I love stopping by for honey and a chat. We love to taste different flavors and try something new. We always have some good, uplifting conversation while purchasing delicious local honey!

Marrakesh Express – Menu with Prices – 101 Montelago Blvd, Henderson

Coffee is acceptable, good selection of snacks, sundries, etc. Fruit selection is lacking. The employees are what cause me to give a 1 star rating. Horrible service and lack of consideration. After purchasing a coffee, I settled in to one of the tables to get a bit of work done. The three employees proceeded to gossip and vent very loudly. It was very unprofessional. I moved tables to a bit further away but one of the employees (young woman with glasses, with a bun hairdo) had a voice that truly carried – it was very loud, a bit shrill, and extremely intrusive. Noise cancelling headphones were hardly a help in this situation. On top of the sheer volume, the topics of conversation ranged from complaining about others’ breast feeding, complaining about low amounts of tips they have received (genuinely not surprised by this), lawsuits, pregnancy, bathrooms, others’ rudeness (how rich!), and other uncomfortable things to overhear. Their choice vocabulary included inappropriate and vulgar words. I’ve worked in food retail. I get it – I personally liked the camaraderie, conversations, and idle chit chat with my coworkers. Makes the shift go by, and it’s fun to chat with your friends. But in this case the volume, topics of conversation, and general inconsiderate attitudes were really just too much. I wouldn’t even mind those topics – you can talk about whatever you want really – if it wasn’t so loud, and sounded so shrill. I would never recommend anyone to come here. You’ll probably get critiqued about the amount of tip you leave in the jar.

Rori’s Artisanal Creamery – Menu with Prices – 3768 Long Beach Blvd Unit 100, Long Beach

Always excited when new places open near me! I actually hadn’t heard any buzz about it, so I was surprised when I popped over to Steelcraft on Monday to try a new beer at Smog City, and saw a distinct lack of shaved ice. I’ll miss that shaved ice place, but this is a great replacement, anyway. First off, they have a lot of flavors – and, for good and bad, unlike LB Creamery, the majority of them are year-round (looks like they’re going to have a seasonal rotation of 3 of them, the other dozen are permanent). I tried a sample of a few of them – black pepper pistachio, honey lavender, and mint chip. Honey lavender was good, but I was hoping for a bit more honey; mint was *very* minty, but that fresh “just came from the garden” flavor you don’t usually find, but I’m always excited when I do, so that’s what I got, and it was delicious. I will say, I don’t think the base ice cream is *quite* as good (creamy) as Long Beach Creamery, but I only say that because they’re the best ice cream in the area, so that’s hard competition. But they *have* competition now. As with Long Beach Creamery, I love how fresh and how *real* all their flavors taste. I also love that their kid/mini scoop size is only $3.50, and for $3.50, it’s not a bad scoop. When I want ice cream, I often don’t want a *lot* of ice cream, so it’s great paying less and getting less at times like that – and I’ve been to craft ice cream places where their normal $4.50 scoop isn’t that much bigger than the mini scoop here. Extra bonus: Steelhead is right next door. So what I *actually* did was got a kid scoop here, then went next door, got a $3 espresso from Steelhead, and had an absolutely *fantastic* affrogato for $6.50 total, while getting to support two local businesses! They totally need to partner with Steelhead officially, but in the meantime, I’m probably gonna go back and do that a couple times a month – I love affrogatos, and there are so many affrogato flavor choices to try now!

King’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1235 S Central Ave, Glendale

Food: My wife and I ordered a Truffle Burger and Baja Fish Tacos, both with fries. They were absolutely excellent. The Truffle Burger was cooked as asked and tasted exquisite. There was some juicy truffle oil and you can taste that umami flavor in the burger thanks to the mushrooms. The baja fish tacos came in a pair and oh my gosh. They were gigantic. The chef did not skimp on the fish. Each taco contained two giant nuggets of fish, slaw and radish along with some sauces and a side of jalepenos. Ash, the cashier, waiter, server extraordinaire was extremely friendly. He noticed my wife and I had Games Workshop stuff and just wanted to chat with us. Not just be friendly, but he genuinely wanted to chat with us and get to know us and that’s the kind of service I’ve never received at a restaurant before. The prices of the food 100% match the quality you’re getting. It’s very delicious and they don’t skimp on anything. All love for this place. Please support your local businesses!

Reno’s Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 4748 Limestone Rd, Wilmington

I love stopping by Reno’s to get a sweet treat every once and a while- so much that I stopped by twice in the span of a week! I miss enjoying my shave ice back home in Hawaii and I’ve been trying to find something to fulfill that craving. Luckily, Reno’s is down the road from my house and I love the water ice. I am determined to try all of the flavors to see which is my favorite but so far, I’m going to have to say that it is a tie between strawberry lemonade and cotton candy. The prices are pretty reasonable and they are generous when it comes to the serving size. It seems they also have a pretty decent selection of homemade ice cream flavors, which I haven’t had the chance to try yet but they all look delicious! If you’re looking for a nice, refreshing treat-stop by and try something from Reno’s.

Le Petit Moscou – Menu with Prices – 323 Ontario St E, Montreal

Brand new neighborhood bar in the plateau! The theme is Russian so drinking was spirited and friendly. I was able to chat with many of the patrons, who were all local to the neighborhood and most worked in the industry themselves. My impression was this is where your bartender or server go to drink, unwind, and hang out together when done serving you drinks and food- way fun to get an inside peek of local life! The bartender and owner were extremely attentive, personable, and all around great to spend time with. Drinking games and shots were plentiful but in typical Montreal fashion everyone was well behaved and pleasant in their banter. The cocktails were delicious and I’d strongly recommend choosing from one of the many Moscow Mule variations. Decor was on point, vivid red, trendy, and dimly lit. I highly recommend you stop in for a drink and a chat!

Leopold’s Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 212 E Broughton St, Savannah

Being from the Northeast and in particular living in Boston for several years, we’re not afraid of ice cream in the cold (in fact, we relish in it), so stopping by Leopold’s in a somewhat cold and drizzly day was ideal for us as we had no issue getting in, getting ice cream and grabbing a seat. Hyped as one of the best spots in Savannah, it was creamy delicious ice cream, but nothing all that special. Pros: The service was extraordinary and truly a southern experience. We love how nice people are here and Leopold’s was no exception. The Ice Cream was enjoyable and creamy on the order of Ben & Jerry’s (not really comparing, but the cream content is of that ilk). Leopold’s is clearly local and far superior to it’s brand-name competitor and we’d definitely prefer it. Additionally, there were several intriguing flavors which featured extra mixed it items that were delicious. However, it does not do much more than other local premium shops in most towns. Prices were in line and perhaps far cheaper than competitors in the premium ice cream business. Cons: It’s small and clearly has a wait any time the sun is out and the temperature is over 70. The seating section is a little odd (a second half of the store) which is well kept but uncomfortable and really not worth staying for. Conclusion: It checks a box on your trip to Savannah and if you can get in and get out, it’s delicious and very creamy. I’d recommend a stop, but do not expect to be wowed. Still delicious, but not worth the hype.

Aria Hookah Lounge – Menu with Prices – 438 Main St #100, Huntington Beach

I wouldn’t come back here again. The meh: – The server was nice. – The tea was okay. – Only charged me for a refill when I had to switch tobacco flavors. The bad: Service was very slow and it never really got too busy. I only received one coal change for the first bowl. 2 for the second one. The restroom didn’t have paper towels and at no point were they restocked. There was an extra roll of toilet paper I guess for everyone to dry their hands. They ran out of mint so I had to switch flavors all together (I hate sweet, so my options were pretty non-existent). I asked for honey for my tea. I was given a large jar of honey with no lid instead of a dish or bowl. The jar of honey stayed on the table until we left. Ash from the hookahs being blown out definitely made it into the jar… and this place will probably hand it to someone like that again. Overall, it’s not the cleanest place to be.

Nothing Bundt Cakes – Menu with Prices – 926 E Ontario Ave Suite 104, Corona

YUM! I’m not sure how else to describe the deliciousness of Nothing Bundt Cakes! I frequented NBC while living in Orange County, and am unbelievably excited to see the franchise popping up in the Inland Empire! You have the option of purchasing a full sized Bundt Cake (8″, 10″, or tiered), a miniature personal sized Bundlet, or the bite sized Buntinis, which are served by the dozen. There’s no wrong answer when it comes to Nothing Bundt Cakes. Every bundt is crafted with light moist breading and thick creamy frosting. I’m personally a victim of the mini Bundtlets, and often leave with 4-5 delicious flavors to indulge on throughout the week. So far my favorite flavors are the Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Lemon, and Confetti. They also have flavors like classic vanilla, marble, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, pecan praline, pumpkin spice, and a variety of gluten free options. What makes this location extra special is the amazing service behind the counter! Each time I’ve made a pit stop to fulfill my bundt cravings, I’ve always been greeted with a friendly smile and great conversation. The store is also adorable and filled with fun goodies that would be great gift items for the holidays. I still have two bundt cakes left and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

piesanos pies and pints – Menu with Prices – 2701 SW 42nd St, Ocala

3-4 stars as they give much effort. Guess it’s a local chain with a couple locations in Gainesville. Decor is nicer than not and you can dine at the bar or grab something to go from the dedicated pick up area. I had a gluten free pizza which came in a pan. The normal pizzas around me looked great and I was salivating to taste the charcoal flavor which wasn’t fully present for my pizza. The bartender explained they do the pans to prevent cross contamination, which makes sense, but if I return, I’m going to see if they can remove it from the pan. I didn’t love the wine selection but was quieted with a decent Chardonnay. Oh the joy of my visit was the 10* saxophone player randomly in the parking lot!!! He was so full of light, joy and positivity. He said God instructed him to this location and hopes to build a church with musical instruments one day. Hearing his music was beyond uplifting and I’d return to Paesano’s merely to hear this gentle – man play.

Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches – Menu with Prices – 2601 Maury St, Richmond

The Cookies Monster is absolutely delicious. I do Not like a lot of crazy flavors.Expiration date clearly printed on the back. Taste fresh, no preservative taste or after taste,no freeze burn. I forgot to save one of the packages to post but the 1st ingredients all what you want to see.My family would also like ice cream alone as all do Not like cookies.Learned about the company at a local restaurant. Then went on to buy some more at a local market. Cost about $4 an ice cream sandwich. The company needs to sell 6 packs at least to the public.Thinking about speaking with a family member to carry in their Shockoe Slip restaurant.

Humbowl Juice Bar – Menu with Prices – 7626 E Chapman Ave Ste A, Orange

Healthy bowls, fresh pressed juices, and immunity shots all with a friendly neighborhood vibe. As a pitaya aficionado I was surprised how rich, smooth, and flavorful the pitaya base is here! The chia pudding base is a great layering texture that supports all of the other fresh flavors and it’s almost like eating teeny tiny boba so we loved it. The hemp granola was good. It was a bit too sweet for me but my fiancée loved it because he has a sweet tooth. It had a nice crunch and layered between the pitaya and chia it kept the chia pudding from freezing into clumps which was smart. The bananas, strawberries, and blueberries were all super fresh and bursting with flavor. The coconut was delicious as were the hemp hearts. Probably my favorite part was the almond butter and local honey drizzle. The almond butter was soooooo buttery and paired excellently with the bananas! The local honey was such a treat and just the right amount of sweet. The dash of cinnamon on top was the perfect way to accent the fresh fruit and tie it all together. My fiancée got the açaí base which to me almost tasted like cocoa along with the hemp granola and chia base. He also got bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, shredded coconut, flax seeds, cocoa nibs, local honey, and espresso powder. My bowl was more like a breakfast and my fiancée’s bowl was more like a dessert so we were both stoked! Lol We also tasted a few of the fresh cold pressed juices and I ended up deciding on the Heavy Green cold pressed juice because I love that earthy taste from the kale, celery and spinach, and the cucumber, pear, and lemon round out the greens nicely to balance the earthiness with some light, refreshing notes and a bit of subtle sweetness. My fiancée got the Orange Sunset cold pressed juice which has carrot, orange, apple, pineapple, and ginger. Nick told us Orange Sunset is one of their most popular juices and we can totally see why because it’s delicious! We also got the immunity shots which were super spicy from the ginger. We love that the juices and shots are in glass bottles and not plastic. Nick and everyone else at Humbowl Juice Bar was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend Humbowl to our friends and family. Thank you and keep up the great work!

The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops – Menu with Prices – 48 Charlotte St, St. Augustine

Great pit stop for a refreshing, non-traditional popsicle. It was brutally hot walking the streets of downtown St. Augustine and this place quickly became a sanctuary for the exhausted! Its cool and airy, so you are refreshed as soon as you walk in, the girl behind the register was sweet and attentive, and offered pleasant conversation while we decided, and lastly the popsicles are refreshing. With flavors like lavender, and avocado you really are kicked in the tastebuds with the different types of flavors they offer, some of which you can even try before you buy. I WOULD try before you buy though, because some flavors can taste a little “soapy” for my personal liking, and be confusing more than refreshing.
