Truly had to fight back giving this 1 star. Nothing completely horrific happened or anything, so I guess that’s reason enough to give this two? But I have to tell you, the food here was just not good. We really came for the crab legs because the price was decent, but sadly, these crab legs were salty. And not like too much salt in the pot of water they were boiled in kinda salty, but like fake saltwater (my bf said they tasted like they came out of someone’s fish tank) kinda salty. Again, it just was not good. The shrimp was decent though – nice and cold, plump, not mushy. But seafood aside, the rest of the food was just completely underwhelming – sushi included. I know it’s a buffet, and I’m not expecting fine dining quality by any means, but even some of the tried and true buffet dishes were all just meh. I can see why this place is popular – a ton of food for a fairly decent price. You can definitely feed a large family (and feed them a lot) for much less than you would at most other places. Large space, service wasn’t exceptional, and food was again, just not good. I will not be back.

Kaku’s Sushi & Seafood Buffet – Menu with Prices – 2330 Kalakaua Ave Suite 326, Honolulu

If you liked Makino Chaya then you’d definitely like this place. It’s located in the 3rd floor of international marketplace where Yuatcha used to be. They have indoor and outdoor seatings and you can make reservations online on open table for one of two seatings – 530 or 730 with a 90 min dining time limit. You can definitely get your fill for $35 kamaaina rate which is not bad considering this buffet has crab, made to order steak, baked oysters and sushi rolls. They have a variety of hot items which I think was a good assortment of Asian types of food dishes like orange chicken, beef sukiyaki, tempura, and fried rice. Their sushi bar consists of mostly rolls and nigiri and the only problem I had with this is the flying buggies that was only near the sushi items and the people dining that reused the same plates when they grabbed seconds *barf* they also had a ramen station which we didn’t try (it’s too hot for that) and a little window for desserts which was only crepes. Service was minimal but friendly enough. I noticed that they don’t buss tables as often as they should and those people on smaller tables had piles of dishes in the way. Oh yes. Since the crab is out on the line it is a free for all and you will come across some people that will take all of the crab legs. Honestly! I’m so proud of myself I did like 3 runs! Woot woot! But all in honesty – food is average and don’t expect much for quality items but you’ll definitely want a wheelbarrow to roll out in after your meal is over.

Two Bills Seafood – Menu with Prices – 4501 SW 44th Ave, Fort Lauderdale

I was just visiting town. Off the beaten path. Looked like a bait shop. Lol. Not what I expected. It didn’t look like a seafoood market from outside. But it was on the canal. Iguanas all over the place outside. Freaked me out. I hear and now see that’s a problem in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami now. I ventured in anyway. Small store. Prices were a bit higher than I expected on popular items like shrimp, snow crab legs. However, they had a good selection of high quality, fresh seafood. Snow crab legs were expensive, $16.99 /lb. I almost choked. But they were large and restaurant quality. So maybe why more expensive. I bought large shrimp. Price was more reasonable. They were definitely excellent quality and fresh. They had frozen and fresh fish which looked very good as well. They were out of blue crabs this day. Which is what I came for. Worth a stop. Just be prepared to pay more for quality.

The Seafood Spot – Menu with Prices – 219 W Antrim Dr suite c, Greenville

I’m giving them 3 stars because their customer service is decent. But I wouldn’t waste my money going there again. For one, it’s extremely packed and I had to park in another parking lot and walk to the place. For two, I said 30 minutes JUST IN LINE, then after we finally ordered we waited ANOTHER 25 minutes for our food while others who ordered after us were getting their food before us. We waited patiently for another 10 minutes then had to go up to the counter (they still had a line out the door) to ask what’s taking so long. THEY HAVENT EVEN STARTED ON OURS YET. Okay so since we got up to ask, someone took our seat so we had to stand for ANOTHER 10 minutes waiting on our food. We got 3 clusters of garlic snow crab legs. The presentation was beautiful. It looked so delicious. I was rushing to get back to the house at this point but I was so starving so I opened up my plate of crab legs and start eating one of my clusters and ITS FROZEN SOLID!!!!!!!!!!!!! On top of it being frozen it’s extremely salty (yes I know they come from salt water but I’ve never had crab legs that salty in my life) it was disgusting. BUUUTTTT when I called them and explained my situation , they replaced my entire meal the next day. That time at least it wasn’t frozen , but still salty as all get out. This time I got it without the garlic because I thought that’s what made it salty , but without the garlic butter it was actually worse. I appreciated them replacing my order and making it right, I wasn’t upset at all which I probably should’ve been because I waited so long for frozen crab legs. I will never waste my money going there again, the prices are as outrageous as a 5 star restaurant but their food taste like s*** . If I hadn’t got to experience how kind and helpful their management was, I would give it ZERO stars. Although this place is very popular and a lot of people love it, it’s just not for me .

Saltwater Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 700 Haywood Rd Suite 1001A, Greenville

WOW! I was caught by surprise with this one. My wife has been dying to try this place for months and we finally made it in. We came this past Wednesday evening for dinner and had a wonderful experience. it was VERY busy! Well we were promptly seated and greeted and my wife ordered some wine. We both ended up ordering the endless crab legs. Now let me tell you I am a crab leg connoisseur. These crab legs were amazing! Not at all what I was expecting for an endless crab leg meal for 30 bucks. We went through probably about 6 or 7 rounds of crab legs each and not once did we have to stop eating to wait for our crab. Our server Andrew kept them coming and they were hot and fresh each time. He was highly tentative and delivered a wonderful dining experience. We will be back very soon!! Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service.

No. 1 Asia Buffet – Menu with Prices – 12819 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

I really wanted to write a better review because the service was decent, but I really couldn’t place this place on the same level as my two or three star ratings. My initial impression when walking in on a Saturday at 7PM was that the place was mostly empty. Furthermore, there wasn’t a single Asian person to be seen, which was surprising since I thought this place served Asian food. I must have come at a bad time because most of the food was leftover scraps, and it didn’t seem that much of the food was being replaced with fresh hot trays. It’s a cheap buffet, roughly $10 per person, so I really tried to keep an open mind because you you get what you pay for. However, this place was hardly worth the $10 I paid, I would have rather spent that money on a fast food place near my house. The food was far from Asian, the most Asian being the bok choy (which only had a spoonful left when I went). What’s worse, the food was cold and/or overcooked. For example, the broccoli was extremely overcooked, but was completely cold when I bit into it. If I had to say, Panda Express is more Asian, and has better kung pao chicken. There was also a sushi bar, but based on the state of the other food, I was wary of trying the sushi since I wasn’t sure how long it had been sitting there. The crab legs were unfortunately disappointing. It was overcooked, the shell was almost chewy, and the meat was practically dissolving in my mouth. Instead of being tender or springy, the meat fell apart into teensy bits and pieces as I bit into it. Something that was clever to me was that I noticed they placed the plates far away from the crab legs with lots of carbs in between. I’m not sure if this was on purpose, but I did think it was very clever. Something else that was funny to me was that at each table, they had signs stating the ban of plastic straws that were informing customers that “they had to explicitly ask for straws if they wanted one,” but our server just automatically put them at our table without us asking. Again, I tried to keep in mind that this was a cheap buffet, but it was hard to find anything that I wanted to eat. In the end, the most appetizing things were the fruit and the almond cookies (which were still in the plastic packages that they came in). I would have given this place a higher review regardless of anything else, if I had at least enjoyed the food.

The Crawfish Spot – Menu with Prices – 1899 W Pinhook Rd, Lafayette

Overpriced for the small amount you get. First time coming here and after receiving our food we realized why they have a “NO REFUND” sign at the counter. Very disappointed with our experience here. If we ever find ourselves in Louisiana, we will not be stopping here for crab legs. I regret leaving a tip… had I known this experience would be this disappointing. $36 for 3 clusters of snow crab and 2 (.75) butter dips. I could’ve gone to a grocery store and spent way less and got more for my money. The spicy seasoning was probably the better choice, because the medium was ridiculously salty. My daughter hated it and refused to eat it and she loves crab legs.

The Royal Crab Calabash Seafood Buffet – Menu with Prices – 610 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

Let’s start with the price. I read that it was 19.99 per person if you didn’t have crab legs, well it’s the “in season” so that doesn’t apply. Roughly 30 a person for anyone over 12. 6-12 was 19.99, and there were 7 of us.. luckily I found a coupon in one of the books for 4 dollars off each adult. Next- the service. There were three people standing at the front when we went in, the host and two servers. One server looks at the other and says ” I’m not waiting on that party” okay- whatever. The lady that served us was training someone else.. but they were very kind and attentive. I’m sure our server was happy to have our tip. Finally- the food. NOT worth 30 dollars a person. I went specifically for the seafood– I mean, I’m at the beach, no better place for seafood right? Wrong! I understand seafood is naturally salty, but it seemed like they poured lots of salt on top of that. They advertise over 100 items.. not even close. I didn’t try the crab legs, although I should have for the price.. so I can’t comment on those. The cheaper price is initially what drove me here, but I will not be returning.

Mariscos Las Islas Marias corona – Menu with Prices – 1438 W 6th St, Corona

Sorry, but this used to be a top notch restaurant in food, service, and quality. Itâ??s been degrading unfortunately ever since. I donâ??t know how an order of crab legs goes from somewhere around 12-16 legs an order to a disappointing 6 legs an order for the same price, itâ??s unfair to pay so much and receive so little. For an order that takes 5-10 minutes to make (rice and beans) took them around half an hour, and to top it off the beans were expired! So disgusting. Just imagine if a child ate that, thank God I tasted them before anyone else had some. Service is completely dead now, I went with a group of 6 people in which you will be charged %10 tip if you take a group of 6 or more. Not even because I had a group of 6 did we get exceptional service, non of the waitresses would come over to ask if everything was ok, check if we needed more refills, etc. If the waitresses did their job the same way they like to giggle, laugh, flirt and fool around with the band members, this restaurant would be generating serious money and new customers. Itâ??s wasnâ??t fair having to pay them %10 tip for an over $150 worth of the total price of our orders if I had to do their job and get up multiple times to ask them for water, and service! Itâ??s not fair. Upset and disappointed.

Sakura Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1437 Sam’s Dr, Chesapeake

This place has the lunch buffet. Just make sure you eat what you order or you’ll pay a percentage of what you waste since sushi is made to order. Very sizeable for a sushi place and super clean. Waitstaff is fast and friendly. Sushi was good, but not superb. I’ve had better sweet potato rolls and volcano rolls elsewhere. Still good though. But they have a decent Thai ice tea served in a big mason jar. Overall you do get more bang for your buck here. Our bill was about $53. Nice spot, will come back again especially since my son apparently has a tape worm to feed now. He even ate some of his mom’s sushi too. I told her to finish her sushi or else she has to go back there and wash some dishes or pay extra for wasting. But our teen son is like a garbage disposal now. So I advise you to take your teenage boys with you so they can finish all the sushi no one else can eat.

Japan Samurai – Menu with Prices – 4300 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake

What a big disappointment! I chose this place because of the mostly positive reviews on the sushi. I live an hour away in the country and I am accustomed to driving A bit of a distance to eat sushi. Stopping in here for lunch and I was the only person dining for the entire length of my visit.. Looks like I should have tried the Chinese buffet next-door. I ordered edamame for an appetizer. My portion was small for the price I paid. Most sushi restaurants I would have gotten double that order for the same price. I ordered two special roles, and order of salmon Nigiri and shiro Magaro. The sushi chef must have gotten my rolls confused with something I did not order because one of my rules was so spicy that I could not eat it and it was nothing like what I ordered; even after I scraped off the spicy topping I could not eat the rest of the sushi underneath. Nowhere on the roll description did it say it would be spicy. My shiro maguro looked old and beat up. The sushi is priced at 4.50 Per two pieces, and the special roles were two for $20. My total bill without tip came to $46.31 for one person at lunch. Way overpriced considering the food is garbage.

Bennett’s Calabash – Menu with Prices – 2900 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

We arrived in Myrtle beach was told this place was amazing so we went. They were closing at 9 and we arrived at 8 so we probably should not have stayed but they said it was ok. Our waitress was nice she asked of we wanted unlimited King crab legs for 59 and buffet or 1 lb. 39 and buffet. Something like that so we got 1 lb of king crab legs they arrived over cooked. The meat stayed in the shell when cracked and they were not amazingly good. I should’ve asked for a fresh order but since the night started with they close at 9 it didnt dawn on me. The buffet was hot or miss. The okra and hush puppies were amazing along with the 1st piece of catfish I had. My daughter liked the grouper and the scallops we both liked. The bang bang shrimp were not good or the deviled crab. The brocolli soup was good and the fresh fruit. Someone took a pic and gave us one for free we purchased 2 pics for 20. It was a bust but perhaps it was a combo of things. The vanilla ice cream was broken they were gonna fix it looked at the time and returned to cleaning. They were cleaning the kitchen and employees were eating. It just screamed we are closing when we should have just came back another night. But professional is professional and perhaps I wont come back again. Kids were running around the buffet unattended and there were signs not to do that. Even the manager acknowledged to a waitress they should begin enforcing the 12+ rule….

Piranha Killer Ramen Menu with Prices 309 Curtis Mathes Way #149, Arlington

I went a different route today & instead of getting ramen I got sushi. Their sushi selection isn’t very large and the quantity you get isn’t normally the portion you’d get at normal sushi restaurants. Their rolls are more on the smaller end, maybe an inch at most thick. It’s really not a lot and you’d have to order 2-4 rolls to really get full depending on your stomach. The quality was like buffet sushi. I honestly wouldn’t recommend gong the sushi route. Along with sushi, we also ordered the Uni Pasta and that was actually pretty good. The amount you get wasn’t worth the price point. Although it was a little fishy, it was minor enough to overlook. Service today was a little iffy. Granted it’s a Sunday night during dinner rush hour. It took longer than expected for our food to come out and it seemed like some of it was forgotten. Overall, if this was my first time and I had went the sushi route, I wouldn’t have came back. I don’t recommend the sushi and for someone who doesn’t like ramen and loves sushi – GO WITH RAMEN !!!
