I’ve been here twice and had two completely different experiences. The food itself is fine but it’s the service that stands out to me. LOCATION // It is located on the very left side of the Titan Student Union food court at CSUF. It can get crowded here around lunchtime/dinner time so just be aware. FOOD // I have gotten the same thing each time. I have gotten the bowl which comes with two proteins and unlimited toppings. The two times I have come here, I’ve ordered SUSHI RICE and BROWN RICE, ORIGINAL SALMON, SPICY CRAB MIX, AVOCADO, FRIED ONION, SEAWEED, and EDAMAME. I also top it off with TERIYAKI SAUCE. Overall, it tastes fine? The portion is perfect and I cannot imagine getting any more than the bowl. This in no way compares to outside poke places. I don’t know if it’s because their options are limited, but this is a pretty standard order anywhere so it is disappointing to know that they can’t do this perfectly. The only food-related thing I would change is that the salmon should be fresher. SERVICE // So… the first time I came here, the server asked me questions because she knew it was my first time. She was patient and had a friendly demeanor. However, the second time, I came here around 6:45PM (15 minutes before they close). A lot of things were sold out, which can be expected, but the way they told me was rude. Every time I asked for something that they did not have anymore, they just said, “…yeah we’re out. Choose something else.” Um… what? Super rude. OVERALL // 3 stars I only come here if I am desperate and have a craving. It is one of the more healthy options in the TSU so there’s that… but if you want to check this place out because you’re a poke fan, I would say skip it.

Glacier Bowl and Poke Menu with Prices 12100 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage

I really want to like this place but it keeps disappointing me with its menu changes. The first time I went I wanted a salmon poke bowl, but they were out of salmon so I got tuna instead. I went there again after work today and the guy there told me they don’t even have salmon any more. Why have it on the menu then? Also, the first time I went you could choose either a teriyaki sauce or a spicy sauce to put on top of your poke. This time the guy just asked me if I wanted it spicy at all. The poke did have a good amount of spice, but the sauce they had was much better. Lastly, the first time I went there you got a little bit of their calamari salad (which I did really enjoy) with your poke, even if you ordered tuna or another item. This time, only the poke, seaweed salad, and some mashed up avocado/guacamole concoction. The food itself is pretty good, but the inconsistency in the menu makes me less inclined to come back. If they’re going to have such few options then I’d rather go elsewhere.

All About Poke – Menu with Prices – 1916 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles

(+) Salmon My girlfriend was recommended to All About Poke by a coworker so we decided to stop by. This was my first experience with poke, and I was content with my first visit. Food: We both weren’t really hungry, so we shared a medium bowl, which comes with three scoops of fish, and as many toppings as you’d like. We ordered the house sauce, which is a soy sauce based sauce that wasn’t overpowering, but hit the spot. It wasn’t a thick sauce either. We also elected for the white rice, which was cooked a little on the hard side. The fish is good quality, but not the best salmon I’ve had. The tuna was also good. With all of the flavors and different toppings in the bowl, it is hard to determine what’s what and all gets mixed around anyways. Service: The employee welcomed us and was kind. She explained things to us kindly since it was our first time there. Atmosphere: It is more of a take out place and there were no other parties when we walked in. The tables and counters were clean and the restaurant is brightly lit. Parking: There is a parking lot; however, there are only two parking spaces that I saw that were designed for All about Poke. Seems like a low number to me, but that just shows that most people must grab their poke bowls and enjoy it at home. Overall, I was satisfied and content with my first poke bowl visit. I’m not a huge poke fan, but I would recommend it for their variety of options and the quality of their fish.

Poke District – Menu with Prices – 1924 N Tustin St, Orange

This is the best poke I’ve ever had. My little brother and I came here right when they just opened the door. As soon as they opened, customers started coming in one by one. It was a steady flow coming in. My brother and I stood near the cashier, contemplating what to get since it was out first time here. I decided on getting the salmon bowl, with white rice, everything, and with the Jay-Yo-Lee sauce, which was a creamy mayo sauce. My little brother got the half and half bowl (half tuna and half salmon), brown rice, everything on top, and the Hot Lava Sauce (Spicy). We received our poke still hot and fresh. The second I took a bite out of the salmon, my mouth was watering! It was an amazing amount of flavor. The sauce was mixed evenly and there was an abundant amount of fish! Sad to say, I couldn’t finish my amount of fish… I know, shame on me… The rice was enough, the seaweed salad was enough, and the imitation crab was just right. No other poke place will be able to compete now !

Poke Sushi Bowl Barracks – Menu with Prices – 1104 Emmet St N, Charlottesville

Great place for fresh, healthy food, especially if you are on Keto. This is one of my favorite places to go in Barracks Shopping Center, and I honestly should have visited a long time ago! Located in the heart of Barracks Shopping Center, Poke Sushi Bowl Barracks is located across other popular food joints like Five Guys and Panera. Unlike these places though, Poke Sushi Bowl definitely is easier to go to for health conscious dieters. Poke Bowl’s options include a wide variety of bowls with or without rice and you choice of toppings: tuna, salmon, crab. There are also additional topping options like avocado, ginger macadamia, nuts, and other healthy ingredients. However, besides bowls, Poke also offers ramen and soba both of which were highly recommended to me. For me, though, the reason I like Poke so much is I know what I am eating when I order: the ingredients are all natural and the sauces list ingredients. This is a must have for any Keto dieter! And this is why in addition to the great taste I really love Poke!

Poke fish sushi Menu with Prices 3500 Washtenaw Ave E-4, Ann Arbor

Having lived in California my entire life, I didn’t think I’d be able to find a solid poke spot in the Midwest, but Poke Fish proved me wrong. Poke Fish offers two bowl sizes that are priced decently for the actual bowl size (2 scoops of protein at $9.95, 3 scoops at $11.95). The base options include rice (brown or white or mix of both), spring mix or opt for a combination. Enjoy a limited, yet fresh selection of three types of protein (tuna, salmon and yellowtail) or cooked protein options for those may be wary about raw fish. Top your bowl with endless sauces and unlimited topping options, aside from the extra $2 for a scoop of avocado. They also have a limited number of signature bowls for first-timers that may feel overwhelmed by the build-your-own concept. The service is always friendly and speedy! The biggest pros here vs other poke places in the area include: – limited, yet fresher fish options – large parking lot, which makes parking easy – spacious restaurant for larger parties – no extra cost for toppings (aside from avocado) – if you don’t want a bowl, you can order a sushi burrito (white or brown rice roll) – if you want to dine here with others that don’t like fish in general, there are other food options – the BYO concept is friendly to those with dietary restrictions

Pokelicious – Menu with Prices – 7414 W 119th St, Overland Park

Best poke restaurant in town! So many options to choose from- fish, sauces, and toppings. I made my own bowl with the sushi rice and the different salmon (smoked, spicy, etc) options. It’s obvious they use extremely fresh fish and toppings that are flavorful! They make all the sauces by hand and they have korean bbq and tofu bowls as well for those who dont like poke. They also serve local kombucha and even free fruit/veggie infused water. I always worry about portion sizes with poke places, however pokelicious gave me plenty of food and i could barely finished my bowl. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cute and lively. Everything was very clean and the lighting was beautiful. It isn’t too big so it may be difficult to sit with a large group but they utilized the space very well to seat a lot of people. The staff was pleasant as well and they all seemed to love their jobs and the chef is super passionate about what he does and the food he serves. I highly recommend this place for those who want a good poke bowl for a great price and fast service!

Hi-5 Poke and Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5748 International Dr, Orlando

I ordered a make your own large bowl ($12) over Uber eats. This comes with three scoops of protein and quite a few options for toppings. Note: avocado is an extra $1. The bowl was aesthetically pleasing and I appreciated that they were able to do half salad/half brown rice as my base despite me doing a mobile order (you’d be surprised how often that gets messed up). My three protein scoops were the shrimp, tuna, and salmon. I thought the shrimp was pretty tasty and the tuna marinade was delicious, but the salmon (usually my favorite) was beyond sub par. It was chopped very small and had an almost hard texture. Definitely skip this one if you can. I also felt that my bowl came with a little too much sauce which distracted from the food I was eating, but that’s subjective to the foodie. Overall this satisfied my poke craving but I wouldn’t order from here again. I was between 3 and 4 stars for this review, but ultimately decided on 3 stars as the size of the poke scoops was smaller than most other poke places I frequent.

Square Root Poké – Menu with Prices – 23119 Colonial Pkwy #C9, Katy

Square Root poke is the perfect place to go if you have a group with individuals who are okay with raw fish, and individuals who are not. They offer several menu options from signature poke bowls, to DIY poke bowls, to hot made to order entrees, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Their hot entrees are only offered in one size, and the options include Teriyaki Glazed Salmon, Miso Glazed Salmon, Unagi Don (Seared Eel Rice Bowl), Curry, and Chicken Udon Noodle Soup. Prices for their entrees range from $10.25 to $12.75, and all of the rice bowls come with your choice of a base, 3 mix-ins, and your choice of sides. Their poke bowls comes in two sizes: $10.25 for 2 scoops of protein and $12.75 for three, and for my visit I went with their DIY small bowl. Below are my choices: Base – 1/2 white rice, 1/2 spring mix Protein – 1 scoop tuna, 1 scoop salmon Sauce – sesame shoyu Mix-Ins – edamame pears, cucumber, scallion, masago Sides – crab salad, seaweed salad Drizzle – Unagi sauce Sprinkles – furikake, sesame, crisped onion, crisped garlic For the price, I feel like I got a good amount of food, and that they didn’t undercut me on the amount of protein they scooped. The food was good, and I would definitely return in the future to try their other bases such as their edamame noodles.

Omaâ??Omaâ??O Poke – Menu with Prices – 12424 W Dodge Rd #102, Omaha

I’m pretty torn on rating this a 3 or 4 since it was a 3.5 in my book, but I’ll go 4 since it’s a local place and I’d like to see this type of food succeed in Omaha. Oma’Oma’O is located near Costco on Dodge street (just near Panera bread). I had a tougher time finding it due to it not being on google maps yet. The inside is clean and the service was good. Like the other Thai ice cream place in Aksarben, this location was a madhouse on a Friday night – long lines and not enough help for the ice cream. For the Poke station, there was one person working, which was fine. I think this restaurant is still ironing out kinks and working on service. My experience was solid, though. Good: -Flavors were all clean/good. I wish they had done something different with the rice as it was just plain jasmine rice. I would have liked some vinegar or something in it but it was alright. -I enjoyed the toppings and I thought everything was well done there. -The fish options were well seasoned (got spicy salmon) and were well done. -I thought it’s smart they had some premade offerings/poke bowls for people who have not had poke before. A bit easier to order for newcomers. Bad: -Hated the value. While $11 is fairly affordable for a poke bowl, the amount of fish you got was disturbingly small. I’d rather pay the $2 more and get double the fish, which was more normal for other Poke establishments that I have had in the past. This hurt the overall balance in my opinion- too many other toppings to fish ratio and too much rice. Overall, I enjoyed my Poke but I don’t know if I would go back. Omaha has pretty limited options and this might be the best Poke place in Omaha- interested in seeing Pokeworks open up here. The primary reason why I wouldn’t go back is simply due to the value- two tiny scoops of fish from an ice cream scooper wasn’t great. That being said, some other yelpers seem to think it’s decent for the portions so maybe I’m just fat…

Honolulu Poke Bar – Fort Collins – Menu with Prices – 2842 Council Tree Ave #131, Fort Collins

Listened to the reviews and made the extra drive out to this location to try out some poke. I’m a huge fan of poke so I was ecstatic to find a decent looking spot in FoCo while I’m here on vacation. The restaurant looked really bright and clean on the inside. I went right at opening and the employees were friendly and greeted me. I ordered the medium poke bowl to go. I got white rice as my base which was piping hot. Rice for poke/sushi should always be room temperature at most. It made my salmon and tuna much warmer and practically cooked it which I didn’t like, but it also might have been because I went right at opening and they had just cooked the rice. The medium comes with 3 scoops and I was a little disappointed that they were using tongs to grab the seafood. How can you possibly measure 3 scoops when you’re using tongs to grab slippery seafood? I honestly felt a little cheated as the 3 scoops amounted to about 1 and a half compared to my regular spot. The salmon tasted great although some pieces of tuna were incredibly chewy and were not so fresh. They charge extra for avocado which many places don’t and it comes pre-mashed. I would have preferred it not mashed and instead in slices or cubes to make it easier to mix throughout the bowl. All in all, the poke bowl wasn’t bad although I’ve certainly had better.

Camp 4 Wine Café – Menu with Prices – 1508 10th St, Modesto

Came in here for the first time with a group of friends. One of us ordered the poke bowl and her rice was hard. Mind you, we went in the evening, our waiter stated that they cook the rice in the morning and they don’t have a microwave to reheat it. Then the manager came over and told my friend well we knew it was for you so we tried harder to make it the way you like it. She truly was a regular, but normally she comes in the afternoon. But on this visit, in the evening her rice was rock hard and cold. Like they just pulled it out of the fridge & put some in her bowl. Whatever their current method for rice is, it needs to be corrected. Not only was the rice bad, but the way that the manager approached us was rude. Two stars only because my chocolate Panini dessert was good

The Poké Company – Menu with Prices – 300 W Martin Luther King Jr Pkwy Suite 210, Des Moines

Poke bowl shops absolutely took over my former socal hometown like some kind of seafood epidemic to the point where you could find one on just about every block. I almost got sick of eating them after a while. Now Des Moines has its first dedicated poke bowl joint and I couldn’t be happier. For those curious on what the hell these things are. It’s pretty much a Chipotle for sushi lovers. Think of it as a big bowl with everything a sushi roll has. You pick the rice, the protein/fish, the toppings, and the sauce. All that gets put into a big bowl and you can eat it how you like, mix it all up or enjoy it top to bottom. There’s a few places around like Sushi a Go Go or Waterfront which serves similar bowls but there’s not as much variety or options to choose from. They are both decent options but Poke Co is a different experience. I picked out the salmon and spicy tuna on white rice base, mixed with the company sauce, tempura crunchies, green onion, pickled ginger, and some wasabi mayo. Everything was fresh and they do give you a decent portion of fish. The flavor of the company sauce was hard hitting and flavorful, kind of like a more savory soy sauce. For a wasabi lover like me, the wasabi mayo just married all that together perfectly. The one thing I really wished for was sushi rice rather than plain steamed white rice. I really think the slight sweet and tart flavor from seasoned rice would absolutely make this poke bowl perfect. Anyone who is a sushi lover should absolutely give it a shot. Check out the soda fountain for some really unique flavors too. The bowls are delicious, the service is top notch, and the ambiance is chill. It’s just an all around great place to visit.
