Where do I start…. Well my biracial family came in and immediately got dirty looks. Didn’t even get greeted when we arrived. Every move we made the employees were STARING. We waited about 20 minutes to get a cup of water. We came for the Crab legs mostly they barely ever refill it. They were submerged in water and soaking wet. The lettuce was not washed and had dirt still on it. I barely ate anything because of a loss of appetite. I’m allergic to pork and mistakenly ate pork skewer thinking it was chicken due to mislabeling. It was also my sisters 13th birthday and she got a bowl mandarins and Said they tasted funny when I tasted them they were completely SPOILED. The ice cream was melted. All the meat was questionable. The snails were green and molded. When we talked to the manager she laughed and then she offered to take off $7 off of our $70 bill. We didn’t even eat. DO NOT come here if you don’t want to be treated like TRASH and possibly food poisoned. I’m usually not the type to post something like this but this was absolutely awful!

The Icey Girl & Co. – Menu with Prices – 7515 Whitesville Rd, Columbus

So I’m just mad because I walked there with my dog and asked for ice water for my dog even brought her her own bowl and I was charged $2. The ice melted when the water was added and he handed me a bowl of water and made me pay $2. For tap water and melted ice. I questioned the poor young guy working there, giving him a chance not to charge me $2 for melted ice but he said he had to. Now I’m just mad at me for giving in and paying for melted ice…. I didn’t mind paying the $5 for my ice with flavored sugar water but $2 for dog melted ice water is out of control.

Marble Slab Creamery – Menu with Prices – 452 N Thompson Ln B, Murfreesboro

I hate to say it, this used to be one of my favorite ice cream shops in town , but with more competition and better customer service at other local hot spots I would have to say avoid this one. We arrived at around 4:30 on a Saturday, with no line and a few other patrons eating at the establishment. The staff are entirely teenagers, which is not a problem for me, we have all been there what with a first job and all, but it seemed like the young girl helping me and my husband out would have rather been anywhere but there at that moment. She asked us what we wanted, we both stated our orders, and I made it a point to ask for a regular size ice cream in a plain waffle bowl. She asked what size and I told her regular, still no smile or even an “ok, coming up!”, just a mindless stare and a half hearted scoop of the semi-melted ice cream in the cooler. While my husband got his order with no issues, I noticed the young girl helping me had barely mixed my toppings with much implied pain on her part into the melting mess before scooping it lazily into a plain cup. I said “sorry, I thought I said a waffle bowl.” No real malice or ill intent, I just wanted a waffle bowl is all. The young girl proceeds to give me a sarcastic, dead eyed glare, as if I had asked her to hike to the alpines to fetch me the freshest spring water. Now at this point I had already paid, and even tipped the young girl since I believe that everyone deserves a tip in food service, but at that point I had instantly regretted doing so. She merely tossed the cup away and scooped the mostly soft and partially melted ice cream into a waffle bowl as requesting, holding it over the plastic barrier and trying hard to not look at me now. I really hate to be petty like this but come on, please for the love of God muster up a little enthusiasm for your job! And treat people the way you would want to be treated! Everyone else was awesome and my husband enjoyed his edible cookie dough, but $12 for cookie dough, melted ice cream in a waffle bowl, and a sour attitude have pushed me away from a once tried a true favorite. At least there are plenty of other awesome ice cream shops around!

Wing Lovers – Menu with Prices – 4411 W 12th St, Little Rock

La Tuna Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3840 Broadway, Rockford

We were in Rockford for the week and wanted to try something different – after reading about La Michoacana we were excited to try it! We went on a Saturday evening. It was overwhelming with all the options and I was disappointed to see that many of the containers were either low (I don’t want to bottom scrapings!) or had ice crystals on them (including the popsicles) which to me, means the ice cream is old. Several ice creams had a sheen to them that made it look like maybe they had melted and refroze? I was impressed that they make all the ice cream right there, and maybe some of what I noticed is simply due to the type of ice cream. We tried several samples but were underwhelmed. Pistachio, one of my favorites, tasted like banana so hubby got a vanilla cone and I went with the mint. It was a soft consistency that I didn’t care for and there were ice crystals in it! Glad we tried it but wouldn’t go back for ice cream.

Porto Alegre Brazilian Grill and Meat Market – Menu with Prices – 795 E 8th Ave, Hialeah

The absolute worst Brazilian steakhouse I’ve ever been to. I mean they were nice people…maybe… not sure. I mean I asked the gauchos for lamb chops, One pretended he didn’t speak English, unless he really didn’t speak any English, he repeated “sausage chicken” and eyed the skewer. No man, i came here for real meat. Then Second gaucho said they only serve lamb leg. I said ok. 20 min later he walks out with some over cooked scrap of a lamb leg someone in the back must have been slicing pieces off to gnaw at im imagining since it took so long. Every meat we tried was cheap quality, the kind that have tons of gristle in it and barely any good cuts. The meat cuts are similar to The Knife. But no where as good quality as Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil. After the group of people i was with all finished eating, i look over at the spanish speaking people seated next to us getting lamb chops. Wtf!? But thats not what pissed me off the most, it was the water. See, I’m the type of person that likes to taste my food so I don’t like to drink soda or an alcoholic beverage when I eat food regardless if I’m out at a restaurant, or at home I just like water. The waitress upon walking in she handed me a wine menu and without looking at the menu i told her We just want regular tap water. She walks up to our table with a bottle of opened water that had a Mexican flag and a bunch of Spanish words all over it she pours it in our glasses like it’s vintage wine aged to perfection, filling it up only halfway screws the top back on and walks away. Just an odd sight. And Why mexican water? Pardon my ignorance but isn’t it bad to drink their water? Don’t we have safe drinking water here in the US? I don’t know where she disappeared to and all the cuts of meat are super super super salty like they bathed the cow carcass in pure salt before and after cooking. Super thirsty and no one to flag down, we unfortunately drink the water and I figured what the heck I might end up in the hospital on my Birthday with diarrhea. So I drank the water. I get the bill and they’re charging us four dollars a bottle of water of Mexican water. How is that even right?!?! I asked some guy at the front desk, he didn’t speak english. Asked for a manager, they didnt come. Our waitress spoke a little so i asked why are you charging me for water? She seemed rehearsed as argued with me telling me she gave me a menu and i should have read it. I said but I asked you for regular tapwater I thought you were just filling up a Mexican label bottle with regular tapwater because I don’t even know if you’re really opening it up from a sealed bottle or using it as a pitcher. Man that pissed me off, paying $4 for hecho in mexico water. We had two bottles so $8. They precharge you for a tip so theres really nothing you can do about it.

Viet Xpress – Menu with Prices – 2121 98 St NW, Edmonton

This place just opened up and is across the parking lot of superstore, right next to burger priest. I’m not a huge pho fan – but my boyfriend loves it. We usually go to hung phat and although I don’t like pho all that much, I am a big fan of hot and sour/Tom yum kinds of soups. They didn’t have anything like this on their menu, so I decided to try the “southern Vietnamese noodles” which was said to come with bbq pork, shrimp, chicken, and squid. My boyfriend got the 6 colour vermicelli bowl and we shared an order of green onion cake. Appy – for green onion cake it was satisfactory. Not the best, but not the worst. For my main meal – the broth had no flavour and my bowl basically consisted of noodles with a few select pieces of meat and vegetables. Seriously. I’ll upload a photo of all the meat I could find in my soup before I started eating (note after taking the pictures and eating, I found 2 more pieces of meat – 1 small piece of chicken and 1 small piece of gristle pork). My boyfriends meal came with a half cup of fish sauce so I decided to throw that into my soup since it was flavourless. It definitely added some flavour, but still wasn’t good. I didn’t even eat half. My boyfriend said his vermicelli bowl was just okay. He pointed out that they barely gave him any meat and that a big portion of the meat they did give, was very fatty. It was also kind of pricey at $16.99 for what you got. Over all, we will not be going back there again. The amount of bbq pork in my “bbq pork” named soup was really laughable.

Saigon Grill – Menu with Prices – 2929 N Roxboro St, Durham

I’ve never given 1 star, but I feel like I have to share my experience to prevent others from a poor experience and to provide feedback to the owners. This used to be our go to pho restaurant when I was at Duke for undergrad so I was excited to come back. It was our first time back in about 6 years, and the restaurant (food, service) has seriously deteriorated. Food: I LOVE pho. Seriously. I had pho for my birthday this year. I’ve never met a bowl of pho I didn’t finish. BUT….I guess there’s a first for everything. The pho that we got was simply inedible. I wish I had taken a photo. Where do I begin. The noodles we’re BROWN. Like they looked like a dark brown color. They were completely soggy like they had been sitting for several days. And the noodles legit tasted like cardboard. The soup ….also tasted like cardboard. I would say a can of soup would have been preferable to this soup. I had to literally douse the soup in sauce to eat a few bites. And even then I barely had 2 bites before we paid the bill and left. This place used to be decent but I have no idea what happened. Please, please go elsewhere for pho. There’s a few other places (sure a bit further drive but honestly anything is better than this).

American Brew – Menu with Prices – 3584 E Stratford Rd, Virginia Beach

I wish I had read the reviews about this place before solely relying on their 4 stars. Like many other customers, this place was EXTREMELY slow. We came in and was greeted by the guy behind the counter, but no one told us whether or not we should sit, or order up at the bar. We had to go out of our way and ask. From the time we ordered to the time our food came out took about 45 minutes. 45 MINUTES FOR 2 SANDWICHES AND AN ACAI BOWL!!!!! This place was not busy so I cannot fathom how it could take almost an hour. Although they were good sized, our sandwiches were extremely dry and the bread was over toasted. The chicken in my sandwich may have been over cooked or maybe prepared the day before, but I needed water to wash each bite down. The flavors were there, so I’m not that mad at it. My acai bowl was also extremely disappointing. It was served more like a soup than a smoothie bowl and I can tell they water the acai down with fillers like blueberry and ice. For 9 dollars, I expect pure acai instead of melted ice soup. There were still huge ice chunks in my bowl and they didn’t even add the peanut butter like I had paid extra for. I was just so hungry, I didnt realize until I had gotten home that I had been ripped off ? we also got a couple coffees that were extremly over priced for what they were. The overall restaurant needed to be cleaned. I looked down and it looked like the rug hadn’t been vacuumed in MONTHS. They have games and toys for customers that are very much appreciated, but need to be wiped down as well. Everything we touched was sticky! I really wanted to love this place, but I feel like this was a one and done for me. This restaurant is gentrification at its finest. Overpriced with modern rustic decor. :/

Pho Akaushi – Menu with Prices – 10131 Westminster Blvd #214, Garden Grove

The pho at Pho Akaushi has RUINED me for life! I haven’t been much of a pho eater up until about 1.5 years ago (I know, crazy!). I don’t have a very distinguished palette when it comes to pho, and I have a hard time telling the difference between what is good or just so-so. However, that has all completely changed after the bowl of perfection I had at Pho Akaushi. I mostly wanted to come here because my husband is a pho aficionado, but I ended up enjoying my meal here SO much – I just couldn’t wait to write about it. As many reviewers have already stated, this establishment is located on the second floor of a Vietnamese supermarket. You’ll have to navigate through the second floor – or through a bunch of students practicing traditional Vietnamese dancing like we did (LOL) – to find your way to the storefront, but it is so worth the trek. Pho Akaushi has a humble storefront. Just a few tables and chairs shared with other establishments, but their pho is anything but simple. The pho took a while to come out as each bowl is made fresh to order, and you can tell just by looking at it that you’re about to have something special. The broth tasted incredibly clean, but was rich in flavor. I’m one of those basic b’s that douses pho in sriracha, but I didn’t need to do that with this particular bowl. I also am pretty indifferent to the meat in pho as well and just take it for what it is, but the meat here was DIVINE. They use only the best, and eat piece of kobe beef practically melted in my mouth. The owner, Tom, is very passionate about pho and the ingredients that go into it. It was such a pleasure being able to talk to him about his food, and you really get a sense of how much effort is put into each bowl. He made us feel so welcome! If you check-in with your Yelp app, you also get a complimentary glass of juice, which is made fresh using real fruits/veggies. It hit the spot after that piping hot bowl of pho. This meal was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I am soo jealous of anyone who lives within driving distance.

Stone Bowl Pan Asian – Menu with Prices – 5516 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton

Went there for dinner today. Horrible service and food! Waiter was not friendly, acted like he didn’t even want to wait on us. Was with a party of 5 so we ordered a variety of items. Sushi I ordered was the worst sushi I have ever had! Tasted like several days old rice, spoiled and stale. I believe this restaurant serves old food from several days maybe even weeks! Tasted my sushi and did not eat it! Kids ordered chicken and shrimp general tso in a bowl? Why was there a bunch of corn served with rice, some asparagus and meat. Inside looks old and outdated. Just save your money and go elsewhere! This place does not serve fresh food and quality is below standards.

Love Boat Sushi – Menu with Prices – 125 Old Grove Rd, Oceanside

Seemed like a hole in the wall. Thank goodness. Maybe that means people will not find it and I can keep it all to myself!!!!! This place was recommended to me, but since only my older daughter and I appreciate sushi, we had to wait til everyone else was busy so we could check it out. Holy cow. I’ve been spoiled in my life eating really great sushi, so I was a little nervous. And we were starving. So I always hate risking not liking something, but we went for it… And they delivered! EXCELLENT service, our waitress was so informative, telling us about all the specials they have, daily, and holidays, best times to come in, etc. They give you edamame when you sit down. We ordered the crab wonton to start, then the Hotty Hotty, veggie roll, and salmon something my daughter ordered. The food was fantastic… Actually so fantastic we came back the following day for my daughter’s birthday. We again had crab Wontons, and the Hotty Hotty. And the Heart attack. We had the macaron ice cream that was INSANELY good! We stuffed ourselves… And then we were taken off guard with a special birthday congratulations!! I don’t want to give away what they do… You will have to go for your birthday and find out!! But what a fun night! Lots of smiles, and yummy green tea ice cream!!

Summit Coffee Co. Menu with Prices 4, Foundy St suite 20, Asheville

I’ve been going to this coffee place for over 6 months. Always have had positive experiences here. Today I went and asked them to make me a Cubano. They don’t have it on their menu, so I didn’t expect them to make it great. But that’s what I wanted so he made it for me. When I walked up and saw him make it he just dumped a bunch of salt right on top. No sprinkled nothing just a big Heap. I tasted it there was no sugar in it, which is totally fine I added some. I gave him a good tip just for going out of his way to making something that was not on the menu. When I ordered my coffee I asked him if there was anyway I could get water for my dog. He said that there was water in a bowl out back. When I got my dog out and took him to the back, it was there was no water in the bowl. This lady saw how disappointed I was because I had my dog so I couldn’t go inside and get any water, so she asked me if she could bring the dog bowl in and get some water for me. I said yes and thank you. When she came back out the water bowl was empty and she said that the guy said no she can’t have any water and that they were closed. Granted I did get there at 4:55. But I’m just surprised that they would turn down dog water. All I wanted to do was give my dog a drink before I left. It was 5:01 literally. You can dumped a bunch of salt in my coffee and call it a Cubano, you can be rude to me, even though he wasn’t rude to my face, but deny my dog a little bit of water because it’s 1 minute after you close… That’s really really sad. I probably won’t go in there if the skinny guy with red hair is making coffee again.
