Amazing kourabiethes! They are the powdered-sugar-covered almond sugar cookies, and the ones here melt in your mouth! Can’t wait to go back for more. I also picked up baklava, which I’m sure will be just as good. The store was run by a very cute older Greek man who was helpful and sweet and gave me some Greek Ouzo candies “for my pocket.” Highly recommend!

Caffe Luxxe – Menu with Prices – COUNTRY MART, 225 26th St, Santa Monica

This is hands down one of my favorite coffee shops in LA! Their lattes are always so delicious. And their iced coffee is unreal. It tastes so fresh and has an amazing bold flavor to it. I highly recommend ordering the iced coffee if you come here. I didn’t even need to put any sugar or cream in it. I love the artistic designs they make for the lattes. I’ve had everything from a pretty leaf to a gorgeous heart. It is a nice topping and it gives an artisanal vibe to the coffee. I enjoy all the baked goods they have here too! The mini alfajores cookies are so delicious. It’s an Argentinian cookie that is so delicate it crumbles in your mouth. It is covered in powdered sugar and the inside has this beautiful hazelnut flavor. I always buy these cookies every time I come here. If you’re looking for a nice place to lounge on the weekend with a warm cup of coffee in your hand, this is the place to go!

Raising The Bar – Menu with Prices – 1233 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

Hands down the BEST almond croissant that I’ve ever had in my life- even compared to the ones tasted in France. Buttery, thousands of crispy yet tender layers and an amazing balance of sweet almond filling and a dusting of powdered sugar. I will dream about them until next weekend. Can’t wait to try everything else. Super excited for this broad street market addition!

Russell Stover Chocolates – Menu with Prices – 1300 Village West Pkwy, Kansas City

Part outlet store, all retail store, this is one of a handful of Russell Stover candy stores in the city. The bulk of the store has most, if not all, of Russell Stover and Whitman’s line of chocolates and candies (regular and sugar free), including Jelly Bellies. They have individually packaged candy as well as bulk. They always have “seasonally wrapped” boxed candy and candy assortments on hand (for guys … Lol) for when you need a last-second gift for Mother’s Day or an anniversary. A complete ice cream selection sits alongside an amazing collection of freshly-made fudge and hand dipped caramel apples. My personal favorite are the bloopers in the back. Bloopers are boxes and bags of whatever got messed up at the factory and can’t pass the eye test for selling at retail. Otherwise, it’s the same candy only cheaper. The store doesn’t get a say in what the factory sends them, but it is always my first stop. I highly recommend this location in the Legends. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Lin’s Asian Express – Menu with Prices – 520 N First Ave, Evansville

This was my first time at Lin’s and I will definitely return. We decided to have Sushi and it was Fantastic. Sushi is relatively expensive most places, but here it’s more reasonable. The Evansville Roll in particular was AMAZING! the selection is a little more limited than other sushi restaurants, but they also have hibachi, and other entree options. Overall our experience was really good, and at the end they bring out your receipt with these little candies that I really love. I mentioned casually to my group that I loved these candies and the server comes back with a handful of them. It was really sweet and completely unexpected, but she made my day. Highly recommend!

Mezona Market – Menu with Prices – 21 W Main St, Mesa

This place used to be called “sweet cakes cafe” and they had delicious cookies and food. My kids loved going to the kitchen sink bars and sugar cookies and I loved the cinnamon buns. They were warm and fresh and fabulous. We moved too far away to visit frequently but stopped by when we were close recently. I almost didn’t even know it was the same place…thought we walked into the wrong store. We didn’t check out any merchandise-after all we were there for the cookies, lol. I was so disappointed in the cookies now. They have 1/2 what they used to and the flavor is not what it used to be. They no longer taste fresh or any different than any other cookie you can get from a sandwich shop-and the sugar cookie actually tasted stale. I’m so sad about this-I was really looking forward to visiting. So, if you’re going for the cookies, know that they aren’t what they used to be-not even close but if you’re going to specialty clothing/hats etc then it might still be up your alley.

Desserts by Angie – Menu with Prices – 1220 N 79 St, Kansas City

My Sweet Sweet Soror@[75100052:Veronica Lee] brought us some sugar cookies that were soo cute we didn’t want to eat them, but when you taste the cookie you could not resist grabbing another one. They where FIRE!

Two Moms’ Cookies Menu with Prices 2830 Central Ave, Augusta

Confession time here. I have a food weakness, an Achilles Heel of the appetite. Though I love sushi and country cooking and a number of other edibles, I cannot pass up anything with sugar in it. Cane sugar, brown sugar, confectioners sugar, I’m not picky. I have a sweet tooth like no other. So when I finally made a visit here, I knew I had come to the right place. Now part of the reason I have often passed it by is because it isn’t on a main road. But listen, go one block off Wrightsboro and there it is. I just love it being in a old firehouse. Renovation history, any way possible. I walked in with nothing but my appetite and a smile. And then… I knew they did cookies and cakes, but I had no idea about the casseroles. I peered through the glass like a kid in a candy store. Lemon bars, peanut butter cookies, cinnamon rolls, coconut cake. What was I supposed to do? Get a little bit of everything of course. Though I didn’t stay to eat my box of goodies, I looked around and saw they have picnic tables to sit at (there is plenty of room inside). Also, the answer to a very important question is yes they have milk available for purchase (regular, skim, whole, and chocolate). The team was helpful in explaining some of the cookies (i.e. Oatmeal Scotchie=real butter, dark brown sugar, oatmeal, pecans, butterscotch bits). I was blown away by the flavor, texture, and aroma of everything I ate. Treat yourself and go there as soon as you can.

Little Red’s Bakeshop & Café – Menu with Prices – 1401 SW Yamhill St, Portland

I’m a sucker for a good bakery and there’s a ton Little Red’s Bakeshop does right. For one, their cookies are delicious. The sugar cookies may be small and rather spendy, but they’re perfect. Prolly best to keep the price point at $3.50 each as it deters me from polishing off the whole lot. The OR trail cookies, a mix of oatmeal, chocolate chips, cranberries, and all sorts of goodies, are equally delicious. Have also tried the almond croissant. The flavor in this is outstanding- there’s a hint of amaretto or something extra into the almond paste. Not sure, but it was delicious. The croissant had beautiful layers- was super impressed with the lamination of the pastry. The only problem was the filling made it wet inside and the dough surrounding the filling was raw. So raw that it gave me a bit of a stomach ache. The flavor was spot on, but bummer about the raw dough. Lastly, we just tried a small chocolate birthday cake with raspberry jam and raspberry buttercream. The cake, flavor of the jam, and buttercream were all delicious. I did ask for light buttercream, as I like sponge more than cream, and the cake still had too much cream. I probably scraped away most of the cream on my slices of cake, but it was delicious none the less. Would definitely recommend checking out this small bakery. They have a few indoor tables to enjoy your treats and coffee and tea as well.

Iron Paffles & Coffee – Menu with Prices – 214 Water St W, Charlottesville

I’ve stopped by here a couple times while working in the area, as it’s located right next door to the office I’m working at, and the idea of paffles was immediately attractive to me as soon as I heard about it. I love pastries and I love waffles, so I knew I had to try it out. The shop has pretty generous hours, opening at 7 AM every day; several times I’ve come and gotten coffee on days when I didn’t have time to get a paffle. The nitro cold brew (self-serve; they hand you a plastic cup) is really smooth and a nice (if somewhat expensive) treat; it seems they rotate between a few different flavors. The 1st paffle I tried was the Chicken and Paffles, which I ordered with bacon, power slaw, caramelized onions, and house sauce. I really enjoyed this; it was very flavorful, especially with the onions. The chicken was warm and crispy, and I thought it was a reasonable portion–big enough that I felt like I’d had a meal, but small enough that I could still manage to eat it without making a huge mess. The waffle was very flaky, so I still got crumbs everywhere, but it was pretty worth it. The 2nd paffle I got was the vegan Grown Up PB and J. Since this was a sweet paffle, it was served with powdered sugar. I was super impressed that I couldn’t tell the difference between the regular and vegan paffles–maybe I’m just not discerning enough–so if I come back, I’ll probably order the vegan paffle again, whether or not the rest of the stuff I get on it is vegan too. I ultimately wasn’t a huge fan of the whipped almond butter; I think I tend to favor peanut butter over almond butter anyway, so I might try again with that instead. I also found the waffle to be a bit too sweet for my palate, so I’d probably try to get it without powdered sugar next time. Overall, I preferred my savory order to the sweet, but both times, the paffles were well made and again, really impressed by the vegan version. Both times I got paffles, I had them to stay and they were served on a tray. There are a few tables, as well as hightop seating along the walls and windows. I don’t find the seating to be terribly comfortable, but the shop has a cute, quirky, casual atmosphere that shows a lot of character. A very unique place worth visiting if you’re in the area, with great vegan and gluten-free options!

Anoush Deli & International Foods – Menu with Prices – 6808 NE Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver

I highly recommend visiting Anoush for some of the best cabbage rolls I have ever eaten. Anoush is a deli and small grocery store but also includes tables to sit and eat. Years ago I had the Pelmeni (dumplings) which were very good and the Borscht, which was excellent. Most recently I had the cabbage rolls and can say they are some of the best I have ever eaten. Just go to the counter and order them (get the sour cream) and they will heat them and bring them to you on tray with bread. Be sure to buy some of the loose candies (which are priced by the pound and very, very reasonable). If you cannot read the packaging, some of the candies have pictures that help you understand. You can also ask the friendly staff who Iâ??m sure would help. Try Anoush for a meal! I think youâ??ll really enjoy it.

Brandy’s All City Sweets – Menu with Prices – 189 Liberty St NE Suite 105, Salem

Super cute and tiny little shop of yummy goodness!! I had a chocolate cupcake and a cookie. I meant to take a photo of both, but I gobbled my cupcake and ate the frosting off. Oops. It was just so good, the frosting was sweet, but not too sweet. The cake was soft and not too dry or too (sorry) moist. Very satisfied! Will definitely return to try more flavors. I also saw they have coffee and flavored RedBulls. My cookie was also fantastic and cute. Buttery sugar cookie with a frosting that was not overly sweet, but still had great flavor. It can get a little pricey, but this is obviously a small business so I don’t mind. The owner, I believe, was in when I went and she was decorating cookies and they looked AMAZING. Very cute Valentine’s theme, I wanted to eat the whole tray.

Sweetwater’s Donut Mill – Menu with Prices – 3333 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo

Today is our youngest kiddos bday and our hotelâ??s â??continental breakfastâ? left much to be desired. While this stop was already on our list (thank you trip advisor) as our family has a thing for donuts…we popped in earlier than planned! So glad we did! The shop is a super cute shop with just a ton of variety and options! They had massive cinnamon rolls and donuts, muffins, a huge variety of regular donuts from glazed to peanut butter jelly to grasshopper. They also have a variety of donut holes (powdered sugar, sprinkles, red velvet) by the dozen or two dozen. They have coffee as well as a variety of other beverages you can buy. There are a handful of tables and a countertop area you can sit at! The staff was super friendly and helpful and patient with our questions and decision making process! We ended up with a massive cinnamon roll and two dozen donut holes with some milk for dunking. We take our donut eating seriously! The pricing was a little higher than donuts at a grocery store, but they were sooo much better! We liked the cinnamon roll, but we all felt it could use a little more frosting. We had no complaints about the donuts! They were all soo good! We ate so much we were stuffed! We highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back!
