This hidden gem, is well, hidden. Most people walking by may not even see it if they do not know to look for it. It needs to be shared with everyone in Boise. Whether it is after work, or late in the night after/between bars, this place will curb your appetite. A group of us went here and ordered a variety of items. Nobody was disappointed and everyone shared to try all of the great options. The mac and cheese, biscuits and gravy, and the poutine are all stellar. Everything has a lot of flavor already, but you can always add mushrooms or bacon. For what you get, the prices are incredible. This is by far the best late night food you can ask for that is downtown. Next time you spend a weekend night, skip the hot dog, and make the trek here instead. You will not be disappointed.

Bless Your Heart Burgers 33rd Avenue – Menu with Prices – 5410 NE 33rd Ave, Portland

Located at the former site of Cannon’s Rib Express, Bless Your Heart Burgers (BYH) 33rd Avenue is the second location of BYH and the first location on the east side. There seems to be a lot of hype about BYH’s burgers and I can see why. I wouldn’t say its the best burger in town, but I did really enjoy my Classic Burger (with added sautéed mushrooms and bacon) last night. I love how BYH smashes their burgers to get a super crusty finish on the exterior of the burger. That char added so much flavor to the burger, and the burger was still moist too. The sautéed mushrooms added a nice textural element, though I would skip the bacon next time since it was a bit chewy and definitely low quality. Along with my burger, I also shared Chili Cheese Fries and the Down n Dirty Fries with my partner. Of the two, I’d say the Down n Dirty Fries were my favorite. Both of the fries came with this great beer cheese sauce, but I liked that the Down n Dirty Fries came with griddled onions, peppers, and mushrooms, as I felt like I needed more veggies in my meal due to the use of shredded lettuce in my burger instead of a big piece of lettuce, which is normally my preference. I thought the fries were a tad oily, but still tasty nonetheless.

Stir Fry 88 – Menu with Prices – 7 Neponset St, Worcester

Needing something to eat I thought I’d skip my usual place to go and try something else. Well that wasn’t a good idea. This looks like a typical mall food court Chinese food place but the quality of the food was sub-par pretty much across the board. Lo Mein was the highlight of the plate and it was just ok. The Mandarin chicken had decent flavor but was dry. The Orange chicken was ok but the batter was soggy. The worst by far was the chicken and mushrooms. The chicken was very fatty. The zucchini was mushy and inedible. The mushrooms were fair at best so I picked them out and put them in the low mein, leaving the other items on the plate. I had fairly low expectation and I wasn’t disappointed.

The Oliver House – Menu with Prices – 27 Broadway St, Toledo

We had good, friendly service overall. The wines and beer were good, overpriced. The trout and asparagus were excellent, and at a reasonable price. We were very disappointed with two different hamburgers. Both we’re overpriced and overcooked. We sent one back. It was served again, missing one ingredient. Everyone had finished their dinner. The other ingredient was brought to the table. The finished customers sat and talked, while I ate my dinner. It was overpriced. The additional ingredients ( mushrooms, onions, bacon…) cost $1 per ingredient. I think I saw four or five slices of mushrooms, for $1. I still payed full price, after it was well overcooked, incomplete on the second hamburger, and very late, as everyone else had completed there dinner. It was very disappointing, overall. ð??

Avec Bacon Cafe – Menu with Prices – 4807 Johnston St L, Lafayette

Avec Bacon cafe is probably my favorite place to eat in the Lafayette area. The burgers cant be beat.i usually get the whole farm burger which is out of this world. If you stop by, you HAVE to try the candied bacon which is just incredible. The owners are really nice people and now have won an award for their Bacon Boudin. The bacon boudin is indescribable (my mouth is watering typing this). Its just mind blowing , It really is that good. The smoked shrimp sandwich, cheesy bacon grits, boudin biscuits, chicken biscuits are all ridiculously delicious. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with Avec bacon cafe. If anything, you will be hooked and want to go back all the time like me.

Hugo’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 3437 Torrance Blvd, Torrance

Blink and you’ll miss this hidden gem! Hugo’s is a deli in the very corner of a shopping plaza. It’s a small space but there are tables and chairs to dine in. They make ordering take-out easy breezy. I called to place my order but it looks like you can easily skip human interaction and order online. A small but much appreciated touch is that they put prices on their online menu. All of their prices are reasonable for lunch. My fiance and I shared the marinated tri-tip sandwich and the turkey foccacia panini. Both are so different that I can’t really say I preferred one over the other. But they are both SO GOOD. I used to dislike sandwiches but I’m not realizing that when done well, sandwiches are the ultimate comfort food. Hugo’s does a fantastic job of doing just that. I really appreciate that both sandwiches have a good portion of protein but is also combined with toppings and sauces that are complementary to the flavors. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their offerings. While picking up my order, I got to meet the owner, Hugo, who is a delight. It’s meeting happy and passionate business owners like him that make me always want to support local.

armory square deli – Menu with Prices – 317 W Fayette St, Syracuse

I can’t believe no on has reviewed this place. We were on a brief trip to Syracuse and stayed at the hotel across the street. It was our last night there and we didn’t want to go out and eat, just wanted some simple takeout. We looked at the hotel menu (no prices, wildly pretentious in my opinion) and decided to try this little deli across the street. We had been in there to buy sodas a few time during the week, and they were all always so friendly. We had paninis and they were stellar, ya’ll. You have got to give this place a chance. I will say, if you order the $3 mac and cheese, you will probably be disappointed with the size, but it was really good and the sandwiches filled us up anyway.

White Rabbit Café – Menu with Prices – 248 Santa Fe Dr, Denver

Chase the White Rabbit… I highly recommend it. I was running late for a very important date and needed coffee to keep me from going mad. I had the pleasure of finding this hidden gem with great coffee. I grabbed a latte and a breakfast burrito and was on to my adventure. Next time John taught me about pour-overs, his specialty. It takes a little longer, but is so worth it. You can tell he has a passion for his craft. Skip the big box and support this small business!

Planet Grilled Cheese – Lakeland Square Mall – Menu with Prices – 3800 US Hwy 98 N, Lakeland

I came here due to a recommendation by a buddy who used to work here. I was a bit iffy, but since I was in the mall anyway I figured I would stop by. First off, the owners were really nice, just cool and accommodating. I ask to modify my sandwich midmake and they did. (Tip: ask for what you want on the sandwich, it like a grilled cheese Subway, also ask for mozarella and Nutella, it’s incredible). The sandwich was really good, great crust, super cheesy and hot. I got the Mac n cheese fries with bacon and they did not disappoint. I couldn’t ask for a better lunch and then I found out they deliver too through takeouthero. Don’t skip this place, check it out you’ll be glad you did.

Foster’s Cafe & Bar – Menu with Prices – 6307 N Kings Hwy A, Myrtle Beach

We were desperate for something to eat late at night when everything else had closed down… Uber Eats listed one pizza joint I had already been disappointed with, and this place (Fosters) which had only a couple photos and reviews. I took a chance, and we ordered a couple of cheesesteaks, fries, and mozzarella sticks. I’ll be honest: I had super low expectations. LUCKILY, they exceeded my expectations more than I ever imagined. While the food was nothing to write home about, the cheesesteak was better than most of the hole in the wall food and many of the big money franchises alike at the beach. The fries didn’t travel well, and I’d skip those next time… but the mozzarella sticks were great. They were actually still warm, and tasted beer battered. All in all, I just wanted to give some credibility to this place for those of you in the same situation as I was. It may not be the first pick, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you don’t have incredibly high expectations. For a place that is apparently (according to other reviewers) a bar first, and restaurant second, I’m rounding this one up to four stars. Solid 3.5 at least. Haha!

Pizzeria Nora – Menu with Prices – 2400 N Central St, Knoxville

I’ve passed this place several times and have always wanted to try it out. Decided tonight was the night I ordered the Dino and the Foongee along with a Panna Cotta to wash it all down. First I was told the pizza would be done in an hour I get there right at an hour as the pizza was being removed from the oven. My interaction with the young lady and the owner was very pleasant they then did a quick quality check to ensure it was cooked to perfection. I got the pizza home and tore into it. I began with the Dino the crust was thin crispy and airy all at the same time the flavor was amazing absolute perfect balance of toppings and the flavors were incredible. Next was the Foongee the same for the crust as the Dino but the way the flavor of the mushrooms and peppers blended together created an experience like never before every bite was as good of not better than the last. I could have easily eaten both pies myself but insisted my wife and kids tried them out

Dallis Steakhouse Express – Menu with Prices – 3320 Glendale Ave, Toledo

This was very bad. I ordered the sirloin cooked medium with mushrooms and onion, baked potato with bacon and cheese, and asparagus. The steak was just about half an inch thick, and half of it was well done, the other half was medium. Low quality meat. There were no grill marks or anything so i assume it was microwaved or thrown straight in the oven. They forgot my mushrooms and onion, and when i went back to get them, they started to retrieve them from already made bins of mushroom and onion. The asparagus had no sort of sign of it being cooked either, besides it being warm, even though the restaurant said they sauté the asparagus. And the baked potato was precooked from hours before i received it, and they didnt even have real bacon bits! The staff was very nice however.

99 Bottles Taproom & Bottle Shop – Menu with Prices – 1445 2nd St, Sarasota

I really wish I could give 4.5 stars but since I can’t here’s why: This place Really is like a hidden gem. Such an amazing selection of beer and wines! Came with my old boss and we shared a charcuterie board with some great wine at a pretty excellent price. Everything on the board was amazing and so wonderfully presented! It actually filled us up and we weren’t planning on that at all. Really disappointed in myself for not getting the jar of cookies because come on, look how cute THAT is. Also, we came during happy hr which ends at 7pm which I highly recommend. Now for the missing star explanation. 1st. Although the interior is cool and modern it’s pretty small on the inside. You won’t come here if you’re looking to go out for the night. This is more for after work cocktails. Or a 1st stop on a date. & 2nd. Even though we were at the bar, we didn’t really get the service I expected. Even our bill at the end took For-EVVER to get to us and there were literally maybe 4 other groups there. Not a huge deal. I’d still FOR SURE go back and try those cookies
