Omg YES! This place looks sketchy when you pull up, but it’s really one of the best donut places I’ve ever been too, even better than my favorite donut place in my hometown growing up! Of course they’re nice, but also the food is AMAZING and they had a couple extra things that I tried that aren’t so easy to find sometimes. They even had a big croissant stuffed like a pig in a blanket with cheese the dough was fluffy and flakey and the sausage was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also had sweet glazed ham and cheese mini croissants. Absolutely recommend trying this place for a quick delicious breakfast. I dont leave reviews often unless a place really makes an impact on me, so theres that =)

Krispy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3403 Louetta Rd Ste E, Spring

Hooray! I get to be the first person to leave a review on this establishment. I happened to stumble upon this place while driving home. The owners of the donut shop are the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. They were so happy and welcoming. I ordered a glazed donut, a chocolate glazed donut, and a sausage/egg/cheese croissant. They even warm up your croissant for you if you want. This has to be a new donut shop because I don’t see how there aren’t any reviews already made. The donuts were like a hybrid of Krispy Crème and Shipley’s donuts in my opinion. I took a bite into one of the donuts and the interior was as soft as a cloud. The one thing I truly appreciated from their donuts was that it was not overly sweet like most of the big chain donut shops. I highly recommend those who are close to give this mom and pop shop a try. I love and a huge supporter of mom and pop shops.

Burney’s Sweets & More – Menu with Prices – 4500 Falls of Neuse Rd #100, Raleigh

I have not tried everything, but I plan to! I have been looking for a good, reasonable sweet shop since many of Raleigh’s shops boast prices that are surpass their quality. Burney’s is the opposite way around! I visited mid-afternoon and the place was not busy. I was promptly greeted and offered a sample of their staple glazed croissants. It was delicious! I purchased three glazed croissants; strawberry, cream cheese, and custard filled. All were good, but the strawberry or the regular glazed sample were my favorites! The tart sweetness from the fruit combined well with the sweet, buttery glazed croissant. The cream cheese and custard were great as well, but I feel the fruit combined better. Their glazed croissant menu boasts lots of flavors and often seems to have unique flavors like mocha or s’mores. They also sell cake by the slice, which I cannot vouch for…yet.

ChuChu Donuts – Menu with Prices – 580 SW 9th St #116, Des Moines

Chu Chu donuts is easily my favorite donut spot in the Des Moines area. We were sad when they closed in Ankeny, but were happy to know they reopened downtown. They have a solid selection of classic donut favorites and some cereal or bacon donuts to fit the more decadent current trend as well. The donuts never disappoint whether it is the subtly sweet cake donut or the traditional puffed dough, they are the perfect texture and flavor. While I like a plain donut, the frosted or glazed donuts are just as good. While the distance makes it more of a rare occasion, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Cowboys donut – Menu with Prices – 704 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving

[5] Clean [5] Pricing [4] Quality [5] Location [4] Variety Nice location with a drive through. Fast and very friendly service. Have been here more than 2 times and all have been great experiences for me. The owner even gave me free donut holes to come again :D. They also have smoothies here. And Open later on most days that other places. They usually are open on observed days. Nice place to come get your donut fix. I personally like and enjoy the Glazed donuts and glazed donut holes. I was not a real big fan of the Churro or breakfast mini burrito.

Sugarboy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 10710 Eldorado Pkwy #110, Frisco

Honestly I wasn’t impressed. This place has great reviews and I’ve even been here a few times but I just don’t love their donuts. I’m simple when it comes to donuts. I don’t like anything too sweet or too fancy. When I go to donut shops, I always try a glazed donut and maybe a chocolate frosted (without sprinkles). Those are always the best measure of how their donuts truly are. I love big, fluffy yeast-risen donuts, don’t really crave cake donuts as much. I stopped in today on a late Tuesday morning and got a glazed donut plus their fruit+custard cronut. The glazed donut here was tiny and light. Since the donut was small, the glaze was overpowering. There’s a picture posted with someone’s comments saying best glazed donuts ever and that is a total lie. I’ve had plenty of donuts and their glazed wasn’t better than the rest. The fruit and custard cronut was ok. The dough was chewy but needing a bit more crust on the outside. The custard and fruit didn’t really add much spark. Didn’t feel like this place was that special. Just ok. Happy that they are doing well though! Just not the shop for me

Donut Palace – Menu with Prices – 3300 Western Center Blvd #104, Fort Worth

Donut and kolache shop right by Ace Hardware. Inexpensive and gets the craving satisfied. We paid $10 for two glazed, two chocolate donuts, one ham and cheese croissant, and one Jalepeno pig kolache. I enjoyed the plain glazed donut the most after I microwaved it for 10 seconds. If they had been just out of the fryer, I bet it would have been even better. The chocolate donut was meh. I wouldn’t recommend it unless your kid is insisting. The jalepeno pig kolache was very good. The jalepeno certainly came through. I’m giving three stars because I wasn’t blown away at the taste of the donuts and kolaches, but I would return since it is so close to where I live and is reasonably priced.

Central Donuts & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 9500 Ray White Rd #167, Fort Worth

This was my go-to donut shop when I lived in the area several years ago. They had THE best apple fritters, which are my favorite, and THE best glazed donuts. After I moved away, I held every new donut shop’s apple fritters up against theirs and none ever passed. Theirs have apple filling you can see and taste. The donut itself is on the thinner side and with crispy outer edges. I love getting the different textural bites, some crispy and crunchy and some soft and gooey. The glazed donuts and donut holes are fluffy and just melt in your mouth. They are so light and airy and there is just enough glaze to give it a sweetness without being super sweet. You can’t get glazed donuts like this at just any other donut shops. I also enjoy their chocolate glazed, cinnamon rolls, and cake donuts. Sausage rolls are pretty standard. I was in the area recently and decided to stop in. Walking in, I was very pleased to see the same owners still there. They have always been super friendly and welcoming. I saw the same gentleman I remember working hard in the back making the donuts. You can even see him through an opening in the front. The kids in front of me were fascinated by him doing his work. It was cute. I got my beloved apple fritter and a few others. The fritter looked the same but honestly did not taste the way I remembered. The outer edges were crispy but the inner parts had a slight chew to it. It tasted good so perhaps just a hiccup in the cooking process. The glazed ones looked lighter in color but were just as fluffy and delicious. Still a very solid donut shop in the area!

Country Style Donuts – Menu with Prices – 4300 Williamsburg Rd, Richmond

When you’re craving a donut you have your got to spot. Well for me, I’m still hunting for my donut spot. KK just has a spot in my heart for life. And to be honest, I’m not a huge cake donut fan. The denseness is too much for me. So while I was in the area, I had to stop in for a donut….or four. Closed on Monday’s but open 24/he the rest of the week, this tiny donut shop had some tasty options left for me. I’m sure it’s best to get in here early in the day for all the best picks! I ordered: Raised sugar, Plain, Glazed and Peanut. My least favorite was the raised sugar and here’s why. The sugar literally did nothing for this donut. It fell off with each bite and the donut had no flavor or desire to finish. I loved the peanut as it was glazed with I think maple flavor in the glaze and coated with peanuts. The crunch, the sweetness and the cake donut just satisfied my craving! I love just a plain donut and even though it was plain, it still had a hint of sweet. The glazed is a basic necessity and favorite. Their donuts are thick and delicious. Small donut shop that’s 2 miles from RIC airport. So if you’re ever in a need for donuts and you’re in the area, pop in here and you won’t be disappointed.

Sweet Donuts – Menu with Prices – 800 E Arapaho Rd #112a, Richardson

I was up early and it would be hours until lunch so I needed something to tie me over until lunch. This place was on my way and I stopped to check it out. It’s a donut hole-in-the-wall place as most mom and pop donut shops are. The guy behind the counter is stoic. It was relatively late and there wasn’t a huge selection. Normally I get a buttermilk (cake) donut, but it looked like they were out. I instead, got two glazed donuts. The donuts themselves were pretty good. Average to above average. The icing was still moist, enough that it didn’t fall off when you bit into the donut, but not so moist that it stuck to everything (other than the donut). I could have used the donut just fried a little more to make it more crisp, but that’s getting a little nit-picky. At $.65 each, that’s $1.41 out the door for two glazed donuts. Yes, I got three free donut holes, but that’s a relatively expensive donut. I can get cake donuts at other places for $.75 and I think that’s verging into the high side. Glazed donuts should be closer to $.50. I know what you’re thinking, “What’s $.15, dude?” It’s not that it’s just $.15, it’s that it’s 30% more than what I would expect to pay. I probably won’t come back here when there are better donut places with a better selection for better prices that are nearby.

Cosmic Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3514 Roberts Cut Off Rd, Fort Worth

This was my first time here and I’m very pleased I picked this place. I went in at about 5am and they were super nice and ready to help. I ordered a dozen assorted donuts (he even asked if I wanted cake donuts or not), a dozen mini kolaches (straight out of the oven), glazed donut holes, a breakfast burrito, and an eclaire. My total was only $21.50 after tax (with a free donut coupon). The best prices I’ve seen around here. The eclaire was freshly filled and he put it in a togo box (versus a bag) so that it wouldn’t get smushed and the toppings wouldn’t come off. They have plenty of options, both savory and sweet, and even offer a small lunch menu. I would definitely recommend this place and I’m definitely going again. P.S. Sundays are always their new donut days and they are creative.

Ross Donuts – Menu with Prices – 64 Bell Rd, Montgomery

I did my research on donut shops in the area and found Ross had the best reviews. I made the trip and am so happy I did. I specifically went to try the amazing donuts. While I was chatting with the owner a timer went off on an oven. I asked what was in the oven, home made croissants!!!! In that case I needed a breakfast sandwich also. Ordered a ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in some time, if not ever. The croissant was flakey and light, yum! The donuts were also amazing. Light, sweet, and just overall delicious. They were greasy or heavy. My intent was to eat the sandwich for breakfast and take the donuts on the plane to take home with me. Needless to say, that didn’t happen. All were fine before I arrived at the airport. The strawberry creme donut is crazy delicious. Oh and the owner is so nice, very kind man and obviously a talented bakery. This is a must try, you’ll thank me.

Dey’s Doughnuts & Croissants – Menu with Prices – 6494 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach

I am a donut connoisseur. If there’s a donut shop open. I’ll try it. I rank this place among the top. The donuts are sweet yet airy and light which is such a nice change from a lot of other places that make dense dry dough donuts. Sim makes the best “Tiger Tail” I’ve ever had. It’s soft moist and yet the cinnamon edge is very crispy. A lot of textures going on with the Tiger Tail. It truly is a mastered donut. No one comes close. Also has some of the best sprinkle cakes I’ve ever had. Again, the cake donuts are much lighter than you may be use to but that’s definitely nota negative. It’s quite refreshing and they taste so delicious. The croissants are not that great but that’s because I don’t think anyone can top Heidi’s Donuts when it comes to croissants. Now I want to talk about the experience. For example I use to love going to Rich Donuts on Edinger next to petsmart simply because they had a very “rich” chocolate icing on their donuts. But the experience was horrible. The people looked so depressing and rude that eventually I stopped going there. Sim is friendly and bubbly and her smile is part of the reason I return every morning. She is just so sweet and happy and that really does affect me and my day and morning. If she can get up and smile every morning that makes me motivated to not be so grumpy driving to work. I gladly support Dey’s Donuts. Secret: The chocolate chocolate are exclusive to Friday and weekends.
