I would’ve given them 4.5 stars if that was choice. So I went for Saturday brunch and it was overall a great experience. The manager greeted us at the door and we had a short 5 min wait for a table. Our waitress was obviously very busy but still really attentive and I appreciated that. We had their wings and a half roasted chicken with Mac and cheese. The half roasted chicken comes with two sauces, I chose a spicy garlic sauce and chimichurri both were incredibly delicious. That spicy sauce was seriously the bees knees and I highly recommend it. They also have bottomless mimosas for ten bucks and the waitress is pretty good about bringing you refills during your meal. We did want to try some of their desserts but the waitress brought us our check so I felt awkward to ask her to take it back and can we get a slice of cheesecake or whatever. Also my first half roasted chicken was pretty undercooked like pure pink in there. That’s a huge no no for me hence why I would give it 4.5 instead of 5 stars. The second one they brought out was juicy and delicious, so I still recommend it just make sure you check it. The Mac and cheese was a little crumbly which was strange but it was freaking delicious too. Highly recommend you give this place a try, you won’t regret it unless you get some raw chicken then maybe..

Sparky’s Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 1252 23rd St SE #110, Salem

Took my wife on a date there and ordered a Maui Pizza but didn’t want the Maui sauce on half of the pizza. Asked the waitress if they could use red sauce for half she she said she would check. She submitted the order. When it arrived, it had red sauce on half under the cheese, Maui sauce drizzled over the whole pizza. The waitress didn’t notice, she just dropped it off. I brought it to her attention and she nicely offered to have them make me a pizza for free. My wife asked her to make a pepperoni pizza for me. She brought back a half cooked pepperoni pizza. When I bit into it, it had the Maui sauce under the cheese…true story. When I brought it to her attn she took it back to the cooks without really talking to me about it. When she came out of the kitchen she was laughing until she saw me and turned around. When I got the check, not even a discount. I left without eating. I called the manager today. Didn’t ask for a discount or free meal, but she sure didn’t offer one either. The first thing out of her mouth was, “She should have told you we don’t do half pizzas,” in terse voice. Made me feel as if I was wrong for asking. Will never spend another dime in that place. Poor quality undercooked food, not made to order, poor service, and no sense of making things right. Worst dining experience I’ve had in Salem. First negative yelp I’ve ever done. One star is because I don’t know how to post with zero stars.

Buffalo Tottss – Menu with Prices – 3457 Old Hwy 77 #100, Brownsville

The food is great, don’t let the 3 stars fool you. The reason for the 3 stars is because i’ve come here since they first opened up about half a year ago and little by little they’ve gotten a bit greedier with prices. They used to include ranch on their salads and never charge for buffalo sauce if there wasn’t enough, now they charge you for sauces. Although the ranch is included in the salads, they don’t include it on Friday’s anymore. I’ve been charged for a ranch on fridays by certain employees & others have told me it’s included in the salad. The price isn’t a problem, but the salad is NOT really half off on Friday’s if you have to pay for the ranch & the sauce, if there isn’t enough sauce. It’s false advertising when the greens are half off but not the chicken. When the company first started the half off price included the chicken & came with the ranch and they always made it right by the sauces. The only thing that has me coming back is that there chicken is always well cooked and juicy. But the greediness is slowly driving me away. I no longer recommend this place to my friends and coworkers because of the all the exclusions on their special days.

Backstreets Grill – Menu with Prices – 2400 Devine St, Columbia

I am soooo glad my family tried this place out last night! It’s always scary going somewhere new for me, because you never know how much you’ll really enjoy it and nobody likes spending money on things you aren’t satisfied with… Very happy to report that Backstreets Grill did NOT disappoint us! Starting with the service, our waitress was phenomenal. She was very personable and very easy to make casual fun conversation with. While the hostess was a little awkward about us coming in shortly after 8pm with an infant (it was our anniversary and the only time our schedule would allow), our waitress didn’t skip a beat and was very accommodating. Now, the food…. I cheated on my diet and got the lump crab cake sandwich and fries. The spicy caesar dressing that comes with it was so yummy, I got it on the side and dipped my fries in it too! My hubby got a grilled chicken sandwich and roasted veggies and was happy with his food as well! Next time I’m going to try the fried oysters with that yummy sauce based on a recommendation from our server. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I’m just a little unsure how family friendly this place really is although the overall experience we had was fine. Would still probably be better for date night vs. a dinner with your child included, although if bringing your child is the only option I still say give it a shot!

Qchon Chicken – Menu with Prices – 2515 Torrance Blvd, Torrance

I love fried chicken, especially Korean fried chicken. We first tried Qchon (located inside of S Mart in Torrance) because it was the closest option but both my husband and I are hooked now! To the point where we would order chicken every other week because of their sauces. Keep in mind, -We always prefer to order both chicken legs + chicken wings in half spicy and half soy sauce -Whole chicken is not as good and even portion is smaller like many had pointed out. -Their sauces are ON-POINT! It is flavorful and we like it more than other chicken places in Koreatown -As good as it is, sauce flavor did taste a bit different at times; not consistent but consistent enough for us to return -I never had an issue with the size of the chicken like some had pointed out. Perhaps people are used to chicken on steroid! -It takes about 15~20 minutes for them to prepare the chicken, so I highly recommend calling them in advance or you can easily go grocery shopping. Very convenient -For take out, they give chicken, radish and even rice! -They are closed on Tuesdays

Senor Aji Peruvian Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 6701 N Milburn Ave #130, Fresno

This is a true hidden gem that needs to be visited by anyone looking to have fantastic food. I went to dinner here for my fiancé’s birthday and the experience was amazing. Here’s a rundown Appetizers -chicharron: the server let us know that we could have a half order of chicken and half pork chicharrones. They come with 2 different sauces a citrus/ vinegar sauce and a green mayo-based sauce, they were both fantastic. The meat was crispy on the outside and tended and juicy inside. A great starter. -Peruvian Mac & Cheese: this was great but kind of unexpected. Instead of pasta, there was a corn variant kind of like hominy used. Different but tasty nonetheless. Meal -Seco de res: this dish was amazing! The short ribs were cooked to a tender perfection and the sauce was delicious mix of savory and lemony. It’s served over beans that were seasoned and complemented the beef so nicely. They also give you a side of rice which was the perfect add in to sop up the juicy dish. -Lomo saltado: another fantastic beef dish. It comes accompanied with sautéed tomatoes and it’s just so delicious. -Ceviche mixto: if you love a variety of seafood and ceviche, this is your dish. My son ordered this and he said he loved the lemon flavor and that the fish wasn’t fishy, which if you know anything about fish, then this is a must! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place. The service staff is amazing and welcoming. They’ve been in business for about three years and I’m so bummed it took me so ling to find it. But I can’t wait to go back. Next time I’ll take photos before I scarf my food.

Piri Piri Chicken – Menu with Prices – 7722 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond

This place is super yum! I came here 3 times and missed a 4th while in town for a week and a half if that tells you anything. And that’s odd for me since I like variety. I think the half chicken is a great option – great price and lots of food: rice, beans, 2x corn/chile muffins, and a delicious half of a chicken!! Rice is usually blah but Piri Piri’s is good such that you actually want to eat it. The chicken – awesome! Especially when doused with their sauce. If you ask for hot sauce they’ll give you the piri piri sauce…which is great but on only slightly spicy. Tip: ask for the hot, hot sauce which is kept in the back because “not a lot of people ask for it” (I just don’t think they know about it). That one is actually spicy. I got the burrito too since I was told it was popular. It is very good but it doesn’t let the quality of the chicken/restaurant standout. My favorite part of visiting was Monica at the front. She was fun to banter with and super nice!

ISLAND FIN POKE – Menu with Prices – 41 Park Ave Ste 2, Worcester

I have never tried Poke before and went into this place with an open mind a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere of the place was very welcoming and clean. The staff were all amazing and provided excellent customer service. Each and every member had a smile on their face! I did a make your own bowl with double chicken and shrimp. I added a few of the assortment of toppings they had from edamame to pineapple-mango salsa. It was absolutely delicious. It was exactly how poke was described, basically a sushi roll but in a salad form! I was also recommended what sauce to put on it and she recommended the sweet but semi spicy one and it was the perfect match on the chicken and shrimp. After finishing my meal they brought over a sample of the two dole whips they were offering at that time. They always have pineapple and at the time were serving strawberry. It was also delicious! I highly highly recommend trying poke if you haven’t and if you’re in the area I highly recommend Island Fin!

GrannyWeavs Soul Food & Catering – Menu with Prices – 200 W P St, Lincoln

We stopped in tonight for the first time, though they do catering and delivery. We got the “2 Can Dine”, which is fried chicken, 3 kinds of meat and 2 sides. We got tips, brisket, pork, chicken thighs, cole slaw and mac & cheese. The tips, brisket, pork and cole slaw were all ok. There’s a lot of good bbq in town to compete with. We LOVED the mac & cheese. Where Grannyweaves shines is the fried chicken. Good looooord, that fried chicken. The chicken was juicy. The skin was crispy. It fell off the bone. Grannyweaves is worth an out of the way trip just for this fried chicken. Goodbye forever KFC. Raising Cane’s looks pathetic next to this stuff. We will be back for the chicken. We’d like to try the spicy cauliflower and a few other items on the menu we were curious about, too. They have great meal deals to choose from. We give 4 stars overall, but 5 for the chicken. Go for the chicken!!! **UPDATE on 10/11/18** This is a small, local business, and it appears lately, through the restaurant’s Facebook page, that the owner is struggling. He has been closing and opening the restaurant according to when he can make it in, so hours are not regular. I would still recommend a trip for the fried chicken, just check the restaurant Facebook page first.

Ramen Yamadaya – Menu with Prices – 1728 Buchanan St Floor 2, San Francisco

Overall 4 stars: Spicy ramen: 0 stars. tasted terrible, worst ramen I’ve ever had. Ordered a med spicy, was ridiculously spicy, with no flavor aside from spicy oil (tasted like water w spicy oil in it). Hubby had to mix in soy sauce, rice vinegar on the table to make it palatable. Tip: order it with less spice than you’d like. Spicy miso might have more flavor…the waitress said lots of people get extra soup to add in bc it’s too spicy. Yamadaya ramen: 4 stars. The bamboo, chasu (pretty fatty but most chasu is), eggs (loveee ramen eggs w the gooey inside), noodles were all delish. Soup was a bit too salty and fatty (had lots of oil and fatty pieces inside) for me but pretty good overall. Service: overall 4 stars but initially 0 stars bc the waiter didn’t listen at all when we said hubby was allergic to onions and we didn’t want onions, green onions or chives, but the miso soup our chicken katsu curry came w had a ton of green onion. So we asked again and a waitress double checked and we learned the curry has onion in the sauce. So we changed it to the ramen. They were also nice about the spicy ramen when we complained about its terrible taste and helped us out. Overall, 4 stars, mainly bc of the waitresses. Not sure I’d return bc hubby had such a terrible experience w the spicy ramen.

Soy Grill Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 18919 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver

This location of Soy Grill and I have along history together over the last 5 years. The staff has changed but the food has been consistently good for as long as I’ve visited. It’s affordable, portion size is great (very big), and like other competitors in the area they have free soup for dine in customers. The service is always fast and friendly while they also have a stamp card where every 10 stamps you get 1 free. I find myself craving their spicy chicken throughout the week. I think I find myself here once a week. The spicy chicken bowl I order is a large helping of chicken with fresh rice and is $6.45 + tax. The spicy sauce they use here is unlike anything else in the area. It doesn’t start out with a lot of heat but it’ll continue to build as you eat more and more. If you’re a fan of spicy chicken plates/bowls at other teriyaki places I highly recommend you check this place out, I doubt you’ll go back!

Masa Contemporary Japanese Lounge – Menu with Prices – 2819 W March Ln, Stockton

Would give zero stars. My brother and dad had ordered 2 rolls and noticed that the rice felt stale and possibly old and some of the fish on my dad’s roll tasted sour. (Which has been a complaint from other people on Yelp and Google) My dad told the waitress (who was very kind and understanding) and she brought over the owner/sushi chef. My dad calmly reiterated what he had told the waitress and the owner became extremely hostile and raised his voice. He kept claiming that his fish was fresh and said, “Well I can’t satisfy everybody”. That should be your goal as a restaurant! He kept making excuses and never gave one single apology and just told my dad not to eat the roll then. The owner was also being extremely rude to the waitress. He yelled at her to bring the check. My family will never be coming here again and you should avoid this place all together.

Coteâ??s Portland Café – Menu with Prices – 1 Portland St, Portland

This is one of my favorite lunch places in Portland. The prices are reasonable, the food is really good and the customer service is some of the best around. If you go there enough, they will remember your name and greet you warmly. It makes all the difference sometimes. Everything is homemade and it shows. There are usually two new soups every day. I always check the website because they will post their daily soups and the mac and cheese of the day. The variety of soups is wonderful. I had the Southwest Chicken and Lime soup today. It was spicy and I’m glad I got the warning before buying it. The soups are always flavorful and well seasoned. I haven’t had a bad one yet! Plus, they give you a freshly baked savory biscuit to dunk in your soup. They have freshly prepared sandwiches. I’m partial to the chicken salad or the curry chicken salad. It’s really tasty and you can go for either a wrap or a selection of breads. I highly recommend the burrito bowls. For around $8, you can get a big container of rice, lettuce, beans, sour cream and your meat of choice. You can also get them meat-free and they are just as good. There are a bunch of add-ons for an extra fee including guacamole, extra sour cream, and roasted corn. The burrito bowls are so filling and it’s money well spent. I have yet to try the salad bar. It’s pay per pound and they have a variety of container sizes so you can get a big salad or a little side salad. The veggies all look fresh and there is plenty of variety to make any kind of salad you like. Breakfast is pretty straightforward. I like that you can get a bagel with cream cheese for about $2. If you aren’t a cream cheese fanatic, I would recommend asking for it to be on the side because they will give you a ton. They cook eggs to your specifications and they aren’t microwaved, but cooked on a real stove! What a novelty! Be aware that this place will be crowded during early morning hours and lunchtime. You may have to wait in line, but it will move quickly. I highly recommend stopping by 1 Portland Square and trying it out! I promise it won’t disappoint.
