Awesome Fried Grouper! Perfectly battered, crispy, golden brown and delicious fish and chips. Also had the tasty gizzards, fried shrimp, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and some wings. Everything was excellent and was a great deal with huge portions. $14 for 3 big pieces of quality fish, fries, roll, slaw is great. Was thinking about Uber Eats’ing the food, but decided to actually go and pick it up to check the place out. The store was very clean and really busy for a Wednesday, nonstop walk ins. You can tell they go through a lot of fish and everything tasted fresh. Took about 20 mins so I’d suggest calling ahead and picking up or get delivery. They have two tables but this is not a sit down place, it’s To Go. I didn’t try it, but their fried chicken looked amazing. They have this seasoning “salt” that almost every customer was piling on, but I would suggest on the side to try it the first time. Was not of my liking. Staff was friendly and hustling and this is definitely a spot we are putting on our list. To sum it up its a bad neighborhood, clean restaurant with good fried food.

Family Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 1358 Kendall Dr, San Bernardino

Don’t eat in your car! Ok, this should read the food here is quite good but your car will smell like fried fish for days. My experience went like this: The red snapper three-piece meal with fries is moderately priced and selected fresh from the display case. I learned quickly from observation that calling ahead by at least 30-minutes would mitigate most of that timespan in the small market. It is takeout only, mind you, the chairs inside are for the potentially long wait until your order is ready. One person doing it all? It seemed that way at first. The nice man took the order and quoted up to a 20-minute wait. He handled the phone and apparently orders phoned in well before I arrived. At some point my food was ready and a woman came in to assist him. I imagine that would speed things up, but next time I’m calling ahead! I had to go to work so lack of tables inside and out limited my options. Not the ideal scenario, I ate in my car. The supplied hot sauce lends a piquant boost to the flavorful batter. The fries are a bit pedestrian but were fresh, perhaps I’ll get potato salad or coleslaw next time? I think this small market is a great option when Taco Shop, a neighbor a few doors down doesn’t sound appealing. It’s pricier than other limited options but once in a while fried fish gets the nod! Just be sure you air the car out sufficiently.

Nelson’s Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 394 Blair Blvd, Eugene

Wow! Honestly wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this little stand , but WOW it was GREAT! I wish I had taken a photo- the presentation, even in a to-go box, was very nice! But the taste was exceptional!! So fresh- I had fish tacos and nachos- it all tasted on the spot freshly prepared…. Delish! I guess the neighborhood would be my only aside, but even then two cute and clean red picnic tables ( covered) provided a safe feeling hide away! Portions were generous for the price and the service was fantastic! I loved my meal- will definitely visit again!

Ott’s Pasta Carry Out – Menu with Prices – 1437 E Cherry St, Springfield

Ott’s has been a mainstay in Springfield, MO for decades. It is carry-out only so great for calling ahead then picking-up 10-15 minutes later. Ott’s also offers catering, but be sure to call a day or two ahead of time. Simply put, the $5-$6 for most dishes is a tough value to beat since it is good quality food, good portions, & you get a small salad & 3 breadsticks with the meal. I still miss their spinach noodles option, but Ott’s has about a dozen good choices to choose from & they all taste good. Ott’s is a very wise choice for good food compared to a lot of the nearby fast food options.

Beltline Donuts – Menu with Prices – 615 S Belt Line Rd, Irving

I’m a professional donut delivery man (aka a salesman). I stopped off here on my way to a customer that I’d screwed something up for. That’s right, these were dreaded penance donuts I was picking up. Despite my dread, I have to say this a fantastic little donut shop. The service was fast and friendly. I came a little late in the day and they were sold out of glaze, so they gave me a discount on a dozen mixed! And, they gave me this delicious heated up cream cheese streusel thing for FREE! I expect to get donut holes (entitlement), but this was above and beyond. To be fair though, they did have a small argument behind the counter over it, which just made me feel even more special, maybe even desired? No, definitely not desired. This isn’t a destination spot by any means, but if you’re in the area definitely stop by. It was clean, the donuts seemed great and fresh. It had a great neighborhood feel to it. I will definitely be back.

The Fish Cove – Menu with Prices – 158 Swansea Ave, Syracuse

We came in a little bit ago on a Friday and definitely enjoyed our fish. It seems to me that every time we come here their fried fish has always been on point. It’s also really nice that their staff is friendly. Almost every time you go into a fried fish place, its always push push push push rush rush. Here, they are much more chill which is definitely appreciated. The pricing is pretty standard with all of the fried fish places here in Syracuse. I saw a couple of people mention cold fish, but that has never happened when I came. I really always get fish or fish and fries, so I can’t really comment on anything else that they serve. They have a really tasty and fresh tasting tartar sauce though. I recommend coming here or Bayberry for your fried fish.

Midwest Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 725 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids

We tried this place once so take this with a grain of salt. The menu seems to be exactly the same as New York Fried Chicken, though the prices are a little cheaper. Everything came hot, the order was correct and the delivery was earlier than estimated. Delivery is currently free (7/01/2017) which means that my “normal order” from New York Fried Chicken is about 8 dollars cheaper here. A nice incentive. Anyway, we got fried chicken, fries, popcorn chicken and mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. Everything was of fairly good quality but tasted not super fresh. The popcorn chicken needs more chicken vs. breading. The fries can be crisper, maybe with frying twice. But, a great meal for anyone that wants fried food delivered on the cheap. I will update my review once I try more, I just felt bad they still have zero reviews on here thus far.

YJ Fried Fish – Menu with Prices – 89-01 165th St, Jamaica

It’s only right that I write this review on Good Friday. Jamaica Avenue is home to many businesses that have stood the test of time and many that have come and gone. This fish fry/steamed shop is here to stay for good. Serving the neighborhood quality fish platters for years. Off Da Hook ! Located next to the historic Coliseum where teens flock like moths to a flame for the newly released Air Jordan’s. This spot is dishing out piping hot fried delicacies such as whiting sandwiches, crab legs, crab sticks, shrimp, porgy, blue fish. Any fresh fish you name it. The shop is connected to the fish market on the bus terminal side. So you know it’s real. Plenty of fish in the Sea What you can expect is dependable and consistently good quality fish. I always order the fried whiting on wheat bread. I add a swirl of hot sauce and tarter and am on my merry way for $4.00. The fish is thick and the batter is perfect. You can’t beat the price ! You can choose whatever kind of fish you desire steamed or fried for your pleasure. You can pair it with steamed vegetables or French fries.

Parguito Gourmet – Menu with Prices – 1940 N 30th Rd, Hollywood

I thought the food was excellent, the fish was fresh and believe me I fish, the coleslaw was absolutely divine and the fried giant empanadas were amazing. The staff was friendly and courteous and the service relatively quick. Why did I give it 3 stars, I’ll tell you. Flies, big nasty giant flies literally everywhere. They were all over the food the tables, the counters, it was extremely noticeable and annoying. Also, it’s incredibly hot, there are a couple of fans but other than that it’s very muggy and humid. Also the tables were not clean, we cleaned our table and I saw other guest cleaning their tables as well. It be nice to visit on a cool December or January afternoon after a cold front but not comfortable eating the food there at all. I know it’s a farmers market and all but come on.

Lucky House – Menu with Prices – 1151 E Tremont Ave, The Bronx

Ordered the Spanish popcorn chicken and fried green plantains because it looked so good online and it was! I also ordered broccoli in garlic sauce and plain fried rice, it tasted fresh, everything was as great as I expected. The delivery was really fast, definitely ordering again, I donâ??t even write reviews but I had to!

Me Sabe a Peru – Menu with Prices – 3715 W 16th Ave #14, Hialeah

The first time we used Uber Eats to deliver to our home less than a mile away and the driver was prompt and courteous. My husband tried the ‘Lomo Saltado’- a beef, tomato, onion and French fries mix piled together – and I tried the ‘Jalea’ – a fried mix of fish, shrimp and calamari – and both tasted fresh and delicious. The second time I went personally and met the owner/chef behind the counter. The small restaurant had three tables, each with three chairs, with menu pictures lining the walls. I ordered take out – a fried fillet of fish with a salad – that I saw him prepare in front of me and was very satisfied with the portion size as it was very reasonably priced and I don’t think I could’ve bought and cooked the dinner for less.

Golden Chicken – Menu with Prices – 17944 Hillside Avenue, Jamaica

Sunday night. This place was 2 blocks away so I called for a pick up order since it was only a 20 minutes wait compared to the 1 hour wait as delivery. Their phone cut off for the first 3 seconds after picking up then it connected again, which made me think I was hung up on at first, but I guess I was put on hold without notice. The female on the phone was very curt and repeated “anything else?” with an obviously impatient tone every sentence I spoke. Bad sign. Called in again in 10 minutes to switch the order to Delivery due to a disturbance at home and was unable to go pick it up. She insisted that it cannot be switched, but I apologized and said I literally live 2 blocks away and she finally conceded (with a stern rebuke) . Told her the address and apartment number #C and phone number. Asked to pay ahead with credit card, and she vehemently refused. Fine. I let it go and was willing to pay with cash on my end since I’m the one who made an abrupt change. 50 minutes later as we were patiently waiting for the food and is getting ever more so hangry, my SO called them to see what’s up. Apparently they had gone ahead and canceled our order after a delivery attempt without telling us. Their delivery guy actually rung #D instead of #C, but failed to call us or make any attempt to communicate with us (why take my phone number if you’re not going to call me?). It wasn’t even anywhere close to their closing time and we were already hangry. So, I can’t comment on their food as we did not even get the food. I’d give 0 stars if I could for their incomprehensible attitude and service. Will not call again or even visit the establishment. *edited for grammar and spelling only*
