If youâ??re going to go here, sit at the bar. Every time Iâ??ve sat at a table Iâ??ve been given subpar service. We waited 15 minutes to even be approached by a waitress. Then, the waitress served me a stout instead of a New England IPA and insisted she was correct even when 2 other tables said she had the wrong beer. Was given my check and had my card taken without so much as a thank you. Thankfully the bar staff was much nicer than the wait staff. Great specials, great food, but due to the service, I will not be returning anytime soon.

Merante Brothers Italian American Market – Menu with Prices – 6 Marion St, Pittsburgh

Old-school, full-service family owned deli and market that just re-opened in Uptown. I really mean full-service. You’ll likely deal with one of two Merante brothers or their father who will always be smiling as they tell you the daily specials – and ask if there’s anything you need. The prices are great, the quality is even better, and the service is the best. They’re stocked with all the need-to-have corner store essentials AND great homemade specials every day. If you happen to be visiting Pittsburgh and looking to capture the old-school blue-collar culture: this is your place. I’ve been visiting to check the specials daily. I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.

Sanctuary Barsilica – Menu with Prices – 814 W Sheridan Ave Suite F, Oklahoma City

Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was us and only one other group of people. Bartender was very rude. Walked in and immediately asked for our ID’s , then yelled at my friend for having an empty coffee cup that he was trying to throw away. No “hello” or “how are you doing”…OK. So throw away the cup, order drinks, and they insist on holding my card. Don’t really like that…but fine. Got 2 cocktails that were roughly $10-11 each and they aren’t great. And being across from Jones Assembly and down the street from Bar Abolada…I’m not sure why they think they can charge the same prices as those places, which have much, much higher quality cocktails. They do have a great beer selection, so maybe stick with that? There’s a patio out front and one out back that would be good for when it’s warmer. Also have foosball and ping pong inside and other games out back. So why the 1 star (besides the terrible service and ok drinks)? Well, they charged my card several times (but then thankfully credited it back). Not sure what’s going on with that, but I’ve never had that happen before and won’t plan on using a card here again if I do come back. Just watch your card transactions and don’t expect great service.

U Pick 6 Public House – Menu with Prices – 4575 W Ridge Rd, Erie

Went there with a party of 12 on a Monday night. The restaurant was far from busy, so they should’ve been able to handle the size of the table–or so I thought. From the start, the service was horrible. Waitress took drink orders right away but we waited nearly 15 minutes for them to come to the table. I as well as another guest walked by the bar on separate occasions–and there the orders sat at the waitress station. So it clearly wasn’t a problem with the bar staff. Meanwhile the waitress sat talking to the staff. That should’ve been the first clue to leave. Dinner came, albeit slow and cold. In fact it was brought partly by another waitress how apologized profusely for the poor service.. The order was also incomplete, and one of the dinners was simply not placed. It (a pizza) eventually came when we were done and ready to leave. Unfortunately the problems didn’t stop there. The waitress not only got the bills wrong but also charged the wrong cards for the orders (we were in a multiple check party). All told, it took over half an hour to check out! I’ve been to several Upick 6 restaurants. Never had I had such poor service as this one. If I could say that it was just a wait staff issue (new trainee, or some other issue), I’d probably go back. However that the manager didn’t even come over to offer an apology for the poor service speaks volumes to how this one was run and I’m not inclined to go back ever again. FOLLOW UP: After posting review I was contacted by the manager who after looking in to the matter was very contrite and apologetic. Had offered to make amends by sending out gift cards. Nearly 2 months later and they have not been received.

Lepoma’s Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 7590 Schomburg Rd, Columbus

The food was pretty good. The service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. For starters, we ordered appetizers. They didn’t come out until after the entrees were delivered to the table, and even then only after prompting. Next, I had ordered one of their signature pizzas, as a calzone, with no onions. I cut into it, to find it loaded with onions. Had to send it back, and wait for them to cook a new one. The new one gets there. My wife and I proceed to eat and converse (although, she’s already pretty much done eating, her order having been correct the first time). Eventually, my wife asks if I want some more Coke (I do, as my cup has been suggestively sitting near the edge of the table for quite some time now), because she wants some more Dr. Pepper. As we had not been attended to for a while, to the point that both of us had emptied our drinks, my wife proceeds to get up and refresh our drinks on her own. After continuing to be ignored by the waitress (she rang out 2 tables and bussed one without checking in on us), we had to stop her and request 2 small boxes for our leftovers, and the check. And we waited some more. Another waitress walked by and asked if we needed anything. Well, yes ma’am, we need the 2 boxes and the check that we asked the other waitress for a while ago. Next thing we know, here comes the original waitress, with one large box and the check. Again, we ask for 2 small boxes. At this point, we actually see on the ticket where it says regarding the appetizers, OUT FIRST. And regarding my calzone, NO ONIONS. So I’m thinking, did the waitress mess it up? It seems not, based on the ticket. Did the kitchen mess it up? What the hell is going on back there? How did they manage to not bring us our appetizers, and load my calzone up with onions, given the OUT FIRST and NO ONIONS comments on the ticket? At any rate, she comes back with the 2 small boxes and picks up my card to pay the check. A few minutes later, the other waitress brings back the receipt for me to sign. Except it’s not my ticket. She has run my card for someone else’s order. Someone else’s more expensive order at that. So I ask for the manager. The “manager”, who was the guy making the pizzas, comes over. I explain to him that they’ve run my card for a check that wasn’t mine. I tell him that isn’t the first problem, but it’s definitely the last. He asks what else was wrong. I told him the service had just been terrible from start to finish, however the food was good. He apologized, but made no offer to adjust my bill in any way. He gave me a refund ticket for the first bill for which I was erroneously charged, in case my bank disputes that the purchase was refunded; and then charged my card for my actual ticket. Moral of the story is, the food is good. If you order to-go at the counter, or call in an order, be sure to check that the order has been prepared as requested (i.e. no onions, if you’ve asked for no onions). Assuming it has, it’s likely to be quite good. But the dine-in service, leaves A LOT to be desired.

Doug’s Day Diner: BOULDER – Menu with Prices – 2400 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder

Came for breakfast this morning and had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The hostess did not greet us and just grabbed menus and started walking. We weren’t sure whether or not we should follow her as she didn’t even acknowledge that we had come in and then she turned around and gave us a look like we were the ones doing something wrong. Once we walked to where she was standing she said “which table do you want” in a harsh tone and we were finally seated. We waited for 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged that we were there (keep in mind that there were maybe 10 other people in the whole restaurant and there were at least 3 waiters/waitresses.) a woman came over and asked us if we had been helped and then took our order even though we were not one of her assigned tables. Besides taking our order, bringing us the food, and giving us the check, we never had any other interaction with her (she didn’t even introduce herself to us.) when she brought us the check I was immediately ready with my card but she walked away and after waiting for 15 minutes we finally decided to go up to the front to pay there. The hostess gave our waitress my card and she went into the back. After waiting for yet another 10 or 15 minutes, we finally asked if they knew why it was taking so long and the guy we asked responded by saying that my card was sitting on the table we had left. Keep in mind that my boyfriend and I were obviously done with our meal and had both left the table and the waitress still put my credit card on the table that was completely vacant. Worst dining experience I’ve had in a while, definitely not coming back. Just goes to show that the village coffee shop is always a better call than Doug’s

Apple Annie’s – Menu with Prices – 130 E Government St, Pensacola

We had a blast here last year and returned this year with friends. We saw an ad advertising college night with one dollar domestic beers and two dollar well drinks. We arrived at 6 pm to have dinner and drinks before the dueling piano show started. We asked about the drink specials and were told that the specials did not start until 8 pm. The young waitress said they do have a happy hour until 7 pm. We asked what were the happy hour specials. The waitress said she doesnâ??t usually work evenings and did not know. The only diet soda option is a Diet Coke. Every time we had a question, the waitress had to go ask. A friend ordered a coke and received a rum and coke. The dinner and appetizers were good. We finished eating and walked next door to the piano bar. Since it was after 8 , we ordered the drink specials that were advertised. Nobody new anything about the one dollar beer specials at any of the bars. Their drink prices are good compared to other bars but not as advertised. The dueling piano show was awesome. We had a great time. The entertainers were all very talented and funny. This is a fun place and very entertaining. The bar stools at the tables are very hard and very uncomfortable. We will return.

Sam’s Club Bakery – Menu with Prices – 7200 Peach St, Erie

Totally unhelpful and horrible customer service. Only 2 regular check out cashiers were open with lines of 10 carts or more each. Manager would not open more check out lines. There were 8 self checkout lines available but none of those take cash, only card, and guess what? I only had cash. Totally useless to me. So I decide to use the handy-dandy Sam’s Club app, Scan & Go (even though I don’t have my credit card with me, the app has it saved) ……. this the most useless app on the face of this earth!!! Of all the times I’ve tried to used it, it maybe worked only 2% of the time! FUCKING FIX THIS USELESS APP!! PLEASE!! So it takes me about 20 minutes to scan 88 items totaling over $1,000 and then the stupid app hangs and says “Something went wrong”!!!!! NO SHIT something went wrong! Sam’s Club is still in business, that’s what went wrong!! Why can’t we have a Costco instead? So then I had still had to wait in the 10 plus cart line to check out! The whole checkout ordeal took over 40 minutes! Total bullshit! I think I will be driving 2 hours to Ohio to shop at their Costco from now on. I’m done with Sam’s Club, they are insufferable!

Rocky Mountain Brewery – Menu with Prices – 625 Paonia St, Colorado Springs

Ridiculously slow service. Went for lunch on a Saturday and of course it was busy but it took close to an hour to get our food. We were not ready to order the first time the waitress came so then she took forever to come back. When the food finally came, one order was wrong and she expressed no concerns about it whatsoever. She brought fish and chips instead of fish tacos. Never apologized for how long the food took or for getting the order wrong or offered to do anything about it. When the check came, one order was charged an extra $1.50 which she had not ever mentioned to change from a corn and black bean relish on a salad to a mango salsa. It was a swap, so charging extra was ludicrous. Just a way to raise the tab as far as we were concerned. Probably figured no one would catch it. Had to ask her every time we needed water refills, to bring a check, anything… she was not at all concerned with being attentive. I know the beer is great and the place is popular but the service and professionalism is greatly lacking.

Five Star Pizza – Menu with Prices – 5942 34th St W #110, Bradenton

We went back on a bogo coupon offer. I sadly forgot to order extra sauce and cheese on the pizza’s, as I thought that was all that was missing the first time we dined at Five Star. Everything else, the crust, and the flavor is great, just like more ingredients than what they consider premium. The hostess/waitress could of been nicer, or maybe she would of rather been someplace else? She never did come back to the table to check us. Took the order, and delivered the check. I won’t give up, as I said the pizza is tasty!

The Brickoven Brewpub Menu with Prices 604 Canton Rd, Akron

Two stars is actually being quite generous, as I will never return to this place; but I will say the pizza was actually quite good. The beer, if you can even call it that, was atrocious. Literally the worst beer I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of beer. I love craft beer and love trying new breweries, but seriously they need to go back to the drawing board with these brews. I saw 3 other tables sending theirs back. I got a flight of 4 and none of them were drinkable. Thankfully the flight was only $5, especially since the waitress didn’t ever seem to notice or care that they were left 90% full. Which leads to the 2nd worst part of the visit; the service. The service was also atrocious. This place is small… I mean really small. Tables are on top of each other and once they’re full, that’s it; anyone that came in at this point the waitress/hostess told people there would be an hour wait for a table! An hour! Some people left on the spot, others waited and were seated actually quite quickly once tables emptied. It was just weird, it was almost as if they wanted people to leave. I also heard the waitress tell another table that it would be a 90 minute wait for a calzone; so they better just order a pizza. Ridiculous. Again, I thought the pizza was pretty good; I will say though that my husband didn’t. He though the sauce was terrible and there was way too much of it. So honestly, with the poor dining experience, I never return and recommend that others avoid it. However, if you must try it, go at your own risk and with a lot of patience; as you will most likely regret it.

Nectar Catering and Events – Menu with Prices – 120 N Stevens St, Spokane

Katie who helped coordinate my rehearsal dinner was amazing on 6/15! Unfortunately, that’s where the great service stopped. We arrived at the venue and were asked for our drink orders, I ordered a drink for myself and fiancé and was not ID’d. Neither was anyone else. One of my bridesmaids gets to the dinner a little late and halfway through the night I realize she doesn’t have a drink. I go to the bar to order a drink for her. The waitress, pours the beer and takes my credit card. When she goes to hand it to me she goes, “wait who is this for?” I was very confused because I’d been ordering drinks for myself and others earlier and hadn’t been asked for any ID. When I responded it was for my bridesmaid (who is well over 21 and the oldest of all of us), she said, ” she already tried and has no ID.” and takes the beer back from me. Now I’m feeling extremely embarrassed because I didn’t know she forgot her ID and the waitress’ response was like I was purposefully trying to buy for someone under age. After that, this same waitress ignores me the rest of the night when checking on other tables around me. At one point I watch her gossiping to two other staff members behind the bar immediately after this happened. I felt like they’re talking about what just happened, then they all three look over at me at the same time. Normally, I’d think I was paranoid but her treatment towards me the rest of the night was just rude which made me feel like they were talking about me. The whole dinner I just felt like the terrible service overshadowed the rehearsal and special time. I am very disappointed and the service and my treatment for something that was meant to be so special. Would not recommend an event here with that kind of service.

Fair Deli Mart – Menu with Prices – 757 State Fair Blvd, Syracuse

Fair Deli Mart has the best selection of hot and cold foods and their specials are amazing. Every day they have a few specials of the day. We have ordered for lunch for work and had them deliver, always on time. I may get food to go on my way home and even at 5 p.m. they have a great selection for dinner as well. Also, their craft beer and cider selection is top notch for a small place. Prices are very good and consistent. Owners Murad and Ann Marie are the best people, very friendly and accommodating always. You won’t go wrong getting anything at Fair Deli Mart, Lakeland, NY
