This place was hopping busy last night so it was a complete full house… yet they had two servers helping so the quality of service dropped quickly. The moo shoo pork was meh ok, but the rest of the food made me feel wanting. Is like they’ve spent more money on decorations and foofy stuff rather than buy higher quality cuts of meat or staffing up. Yes you can tell “they tried” but it’s not enough to try you need to focus on what’s important in a restaurant and first and foremost it’s the food. Some of the best restaurants I’ve been in to have horrible decor, and the interior looks like they host dog fights the weekends… but the food taste amazing so there’s a line of people around the block. All business that serve food take notice your food is first most important the very first thing you should focus on then go through the fancy with the Decour and then a fancy new exterior.

Texas Branding Iron – Menu with Prices – 1805 E Ruben M Torres Blvd Suite 17, Brownsville

Well just got out from eating possibly the worst burger ever. And I’m still hungry. The restaurant is a bit mismatched. The front door has different handles on it, like completely different designedv doors, the outside sign is confusing. It says “Texas Branding Iron Burgers, but everything else on the badging says “Texas Branding Iron Burgers Bikes & Beer”. A bit confusing. The decor is pretty sporadic and the entire dining area looks sparsely furnished so therefore looks empty when there are a few patrons there. There are no real changes to what it was 2 restaurants ago. I remember going to eat at this same location when it was the Mexican restaurant before and the interior and furniture actually looks pretty much the same. Drab and lonely. I went with my wife and we were not greeted as we entered. Actually if I did not know how this restaurant worked I would of probably sat my self and waited for someone to come and greet me a and take my order. I mean if I didn’t know you had to walk up to the register and place your order I would of been sitting there for a while. The registrar should be at the entrance so that the concept could be for-mentioned. I ordered 2 number 1’s which was a quarter pound burger with fries and a drink. When we got the burgers I would say that disappointment is an understatement. The burger was dry and cold, and the cheese was the cheapest cheese you can buy, the equivalent to American accent cheese from HEB. No flavor on the burger means the meat was not seasoned. In addition, the fries were horrible. The looked and tasted like they had been fried and just left out until someone ordered and served them then. BTW Branding Iron you must season the fries as well. When the fries are freshly cooked you must salt them while they are wet so the salt can stick to the fries. They were over cooked, dry, and cold. C’mon how can you screw up French fries for God’s sake. Also, I believe the fries were cooked in old oil. They had an unattractive and unnatural color to them. I think that there are a few things that need to be changed, the most important and I cannot stress this enough get rid of your cook. They have no business being in the kitchen. Get someone that knows what the hell they are doing. Take care of your business before the business takes care of you. P.S. Either mostly all the comments on FB that are positive reviews are friends of the owners of this business and just trying to hype it up or the do not know what good food is.

Broiler Bay Hamburgers Menu with Prices 10636 Main St, Bellevue

I must admit I can not comment on the quality of food because the employee working chased us out the door before we could enter. With ZERO customers in the restaurant and every parking space open- including neighboring business spots, I was rudely confronted by the young employee and instructed to move my car to another lot, or to park again because it was taking up two spots. Once again, not a single customer at 4PM on a Monday and this employee was adamant to keep it that way. A note to the business owner, your employees should not chase away business before they walk in the door. You just missed out on a large order- burgers for an entire sports team. We will never visit this establishment again. Positive food reviews will not compensate for HORRIBLE customer service. Instead we took our business to an establishment that had TWO placards stating how important an experience is to a customer.

La Bonne Soupe – Menu with Prices – 48 W 55th St, New York

La Bonne Soupe is probably our main French restaurant, or at least it was. Starting off with the food, (the most important part) La Bonne Soupe has some pretty tasty sirloin steak. The steak isn’t top quality but it gives off lots of flavor that would satisfy me any day of the week, But along with the flavor comes in the fat which would take up about a 12th of the steak, I don’t really mind it though. The next category for restaurants I would say is decoration & comfort. Maybe not the 2nd category but La Bonne Soupe does so well in this category that it’s worth being in this review. La Bonne Soupe has a very nice interior, with lots of neat paintings and tables. The place is somewhat dark in the evening which feels good since there are candles that give off light in the center of the table. Sometimes this place feels like home to me, even though it doesn’t look anything like my home. Lastly comes the service. This is why I put 3 stars. It’s simple, we had a horrible experience. Our waitress was very stubborn and stressed, and she was treating us like 5 year olds. She always made annoying comments on everything like “This knife is very sharp, don’t cut yourself” and “here’s dessert for my little princess.” All in all, I would rate La Bonne Soupe 3 Stars.

The Focal Point – Menu with Prices – 2720 Sutton Blvd, St. Louis

I attended the 3 Pints Gone concert at The Focal Point. A longtime fan of 3 Pints Gone, I have to say this is a great venue to hear them in. The venue is a fairly small venue, but offers a nice stage and quality sound. There are discounts available for nearby restaurants, and there is a connected restaurant for drinks during the concert. The chairs are okay; they’re wooden, theater-like chairs, which aren’t the most comfortable, but they’re not horrible; the folks at Focal Point make sure to let you know there are extra cushions available, if you want. The sound quality here was wonderful; amplification is well done and provides the right sound for the venue, and given the participation 3 Pints Gone generally inspires, it is exceptionally important to this group in particular. This was probably the most ‘wow’ part of the experience. There is parking nearby, but it’s not necessarily the easiest thing to find if you don’t know the area. Look at the cross streets, and one has a large parking lot.A good experience, and definitely a better one than many semi-pro places, but between parking, signage, and the chairs, I can’t give Focal Point 5 stars. But this is definitely a place worthy checking out if you’re big into music and appreciate quality sound.

Sayyad Mediterranean Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 310 E Main St, Richardson

Our first choice down the street was packed, so we decided to try out Sayyad since it’s relatively new (and to give them a chance, since they’re basically on the turf of a long-established local restaurant). I regret it. Unfortunately, after we ordered we found out that a large party was getting all of the attention from the waitstaff – not from our server, but by listening to the server at the next table apologize to them. We barely saw our server, and he showed us no such courtesy. First and foremost, the plates on the table were dirty – one had some kind of red juice on it. We ended up not using them. Our appetizers arrived in reasonable time, and so did my wife’s entree – as for me, I had to wait about 45 minutes for mine, and by then I’d lost my appetite. This was partially due to the bad service, but also due to the fact that they slathered the chicken schwarma with what I’m guessing was toum (more or less mayo, which I can’t stomach) despite them not saying anything about it in the menu. When it was time to check out, our waiter asked if everything was ok, and I guess I should have been more clear but I told him that it took too long to get our food (to which he smiled and said nothing). The two stars are for the little food I had, which was good enough (hummus and the burek with cheese). My wife said she enjoyed hers as well. I took mine home, and I hate wasting food but will probably trash it since it’s contaminated with that sauce. Anyway, for a restaurant that picked such a competitive place to do business, they really need to step up their game. Quite frankly, their service sucks. Not that it matters to me, I’m not going back – there’s just too many good restaurants with comparable or better food (and much better service) in the area, much less the same block. Be warned.

Korean Garden Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 12773 E 41st, Tulsa

This place used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Tulsa. I don’t know what has gone wrong but sadly the quality has declined recently. They used to have great service, good food, and reasonable prices. At our last visit the service was terrible, the food selection on their menu has decreased with some of the best menu options no longer available, and the prices have increased. There is a Korean grocery store next door which is nice when you need to stock up on some asian staples and what not. I brought my parents here and after being seated and looking at the menu we actually ended up not ordering anything and leaving to go to a different Korean restaurant close by. The interior is nice and clean and the parking is ample but these other shortcomings make this place a difficult recommend. It would do in a pinch I suppose if you came for their lunch specials but otherwise there are better Korean options a block or two away.

Knight Hall and Bauer Hall, John M. Olin School of Business – Menu with Prices – Snow Way, 1 Brookings Drive, St. Louis

The John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis is one of the best B-schools in the world, and has provided me with a strong foundation upon which to build by career. The professors are inspiring and foster a top-notch learning experience, and the quality of the student body could not be higher. I am extremely fortunate to hold an MBA degree from Olin â?? it represents an elite education, an association with some of the worldâ??s foremost educators and a connection to some of the worldâ??s most successful business leaders.

Mama Sheila’s House of Soul – Menu with Prices – 3744 Bloomington Ave, Minneapolis

I have eaten a buffet dinner in this location three times since it opened. I find this location to be an excellent choice for soul food and overall dining. I have chosen only the buffet, never the menu. Therefore, I can only review the food quality based on the buffet. Before this restaurant opened business, this location had numerous other businesses in the same location that failed. All those failures were because of bad business ethics and overall appearances. The interior appearance never looked fantastic. In fact, it looked so horrible that it caused me to never want to do business with them again. Then Mama Sheila’s opened in this location. I am happy to see that ownership shaped up the location to where the inside looks fantastic and would make me want to come back. I would describe this place as an independently owned restaurant that pays homage to famous African American figures who have influenced many people. I grasp this notion because of the numerous photos of some of these famous figures, mostly musicians, that are displayed on their walls. Some examples include Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and Whitney Houston. They also frequently play music videos of musicians who identify as African American. Additionally, the overall appearance looks classy, yet casual. Many would mistakenly interpret the business as one that caters only or mostly to the African American community. This is wrong. They actually welcome everybody. The employees appear to have a good eye on cleanliness and order. Of the instances that I visited here, I never saw any major issues with messes or clutter left by previous customers. Also, I noticed that the employees are quick to clean up the tables after the customer leaves. Overall, I have always felt comfortable walking in here and enjoying a quality buffet meal. The employees and the owner are friendly and welcoming. On two of my visits, I had a good conversation with the owner, who happens to identify as Mama Sheila. She was a pleasant woman who cares about everybody. I can tell this based on how she speaks and what she says. The remainder of the staff appear to always be in high spirits and have a smile on their face. They are also resourceful and always willing to answer any questions or offer suggestions on what foods they recommend. Therefore, I have always felt comfortable approaching them for anything I may need. The buffet area is different that most other buffet restaurants. Most restaurants are self-served. In this restaurant, the employees will put the food on the plate for you. I was slightly skeptical at first about this approach, but I understand why they do it this way, and it makes sense. The food quality is superb. Most of the food items are more greasy than what I am used to, and they are heavier in taste. Neither of these aspects are bad things. This is all about personal preference. If anyone does not like greasy food, there are alternatives that are less greasy. Also, I recommend that one not ask for as much food as what one would grab in a typical buffet restaurant. The food is so heavy that it does not take me as much to feel full. Again, this is not a bad quality. My personal favorite food items from their buffet include macaroni & cheese, jerk chicken, and black eyed peas. When I am in the area and in the mood for quality buffet food, I will continue keeping this place in mind. I feel like I can count on them for quality customer satisfaction. P.S. If I had to make one suggestion, that would be to take down the photo of R. Kelly. He is not worthy of any kind of positive recognition because of the sexual violence scandals. Replacing the picture with someone more noteworthy would improve the interior appearance (Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, etc. perhaps?).

Bouffe Dave Plant Food – Menu with Prices – 1206 Boul de Maisonneuve E, Montréal

Dave Plant is an awesome addition to the interesting things popping up in the NoVill (North Village) area. There is a revitalization happening north of Saint-Catherine that is reflective of the changes the Village is about to go though and it’s exciting to see Dave Plant be a leader in this transition. The shop features great coffee, amazing pastries, and delicious breakfast and lunch items such as whole-grain salads, sandwiches, soups. Everything is prepared with local and seasonal ingredients, which is refreshing compared to some of the other older establishments in the area. I had a coffee and a chocolate chip cookie on my first visit. There is an attention to detail invested their pastries that make them desirable even at a quick glance. The chocolate chip cookie, while a classic, was unique on its own with chili peppers offering an extra kick that matched perfectly with my coffee. The location is just a block up from Beaudry Metro and across from Le Red Tiger. The interior is adorable with picnic style tables, a sitting nook, and two outside benches. The details of the decor have been considered and they don’t go unnoticed. I could see this being a great place for a quick lunch break, a casual business meeting, or even a place to hang out and work while you sip your coffee and have a bite. The staff is very prompt and friendly. A must visit. Recommendation: It’s great to see a focus on third wave coffee, but I’d love to be able to pair the amazing pastries with espresso-based drinks.

Sushi Revolution – Menu with Prices – 5225 Tacoma Mall Blvd Suite D101, Tacoma

Probably the worst sushi place we have ever been too. Extremely over priced for the horrible quality of sushi made. The food tasted old like it’s been sitting out for some time now.I’m surprised this place is still open for business. Now let’s talk about the service we received. One of their employees were super sweet to us who helped check us out. As far as the other employees I can’t speak much about them. I had requested for new sushi rolls which there are signs that say you can request for them. Instead of getting us new sushi, she pulls one from the belt and when we had asked if they were fresh she says yes. Clearly they weren’t by the quality of every sushi we had tasted since we got there. when I had told her that I didn’t want those she took them from me, rolled her eyes and went to talk about me to her other coworkers. When I had asked the sweet employee about ordering new sushi she had mentioned that the only way for me to get new sushi is by ordering at least 3 (when there are no signs saying there are any minimum requirements). Overall, our sushi experience here has been nothing but horrible! I would highly suggest no one come here due to the poor quality of food and even more so horrible customer service.

My Brother Central Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 341 S State College Blvd, Fullerton

I was with my daughter and I remembered getting an Yelp advertising email recently about a new place that offers Chinese food lunch and dinner buffet for dirt cheap pricing! I was but hesitant first, but I felt since it was recently opened, it was worth trying. The drive there was fine but when I got closer to the restaurant, my navigation took me to the back of the building. Since it is within a commercial building, it was bit hard to find. But I kinda guessed it would located in the front of the plaza, I drove around and there it was! There were plenty of parking in the front. There were few designated parking right in front of the restaurant as well. When I walked in, I noticed how empty the restaurant was. I dont mean not having customers empty(even though we were the only ones there) bit more regarding the decor. The interior was more on the modern side with the store front food display like panda express and all the other Chinese fast food chains but the interior decoration looked barren. My suggestion is to decorate the interior to meet your target customers, young, hip and hungry. The food was surprisingly better than I expected. I just assumed it would be no different than the other Chinese fastfood I have had in the past. There were about 12 choices included in the buffet. They have many other individual entrees in the menu, but I was there for the lunch buffet so lets focus on that for now. I first asked for fried rice and chowmen because i never have Chinese fast food without them! They were very fresh and tasteful! I asked small portion of everything. The fried dumpling and eggrolls were also fresh and crispy. I also liked the spicy chicken and broccoli beef. All the entrees were the usuals but they were all very good. I am going to come back for the individual entrees but if you are hungry and want to have some decent Chinese fastfood, check out this place!!

Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders – Menu with Prices – 26910 Sierra Hwy Unit D-2, Santa Clarita

What stands out most about this coffee shop is simply: the coffee. A lot of coffee shops try to gimmick or style their way into business – not Bodhi. The interior is niche and interesting, possibly a little distracting if you’re not used to the style, but not drab or over the top. But their focus is the coffee, with dozens of options between brewing methods and type of coffee (or other drinks), there is something for everyone, and even coffee connoisseurs are not easily dissuaded from the quality here. Easily some of the best coffee in SC, if you like or love coffee, give it a try. If you don’t like it, try something else, they have something for you! Service is great, they are very kind and friendly, and they are quick as well. There aren’t an abundance of places to sit, though there are chairs inside (tables and a bar) and outside, which might be their one slight, but it’s usually not so busy that there is nowhere to sit. Overall, a great coffee shop with options to satisfy just about anyone and good service as the cherry on top.
