I had meant to go to another vegan place but somehow ended up going here. Glad I did! I had the BEST orange juice ever. It tasted so refreshing, sweet and just as an orange juice should taste. I also loved and enjoyed their quinoa with coconut milk and cinnamon and bananas and blueberries. The best tasting quinoa dish ever. I actually came back a few hours later to get one of the green juices and it too was wonderfully, delightfully delicious and refreshing. It has just the right amount of spicy kick to it, subtle but still there. I felt so comfortable there, the ambience of the café is uplifting, it is bright and airy, modern and so chill. The staff are very friendly and eager to help you. I would go there everyday just to taste all the items on the menu! The best vegan/juice café I have been to. The long travel to Bend just for the fresh organic taste is worth it.

Trish Juice – Menu with Prices – 2430 Lucknow Dr #19, Mississauga

4.5 stars I think I have a thing for small local biz stuck in the middle of no where industrial zones… Trish juice fits that bill and I have to say it’s a nice healthy kick I’m feeling a lot lately. This spot is literally in the middle of no where. It’s directly north of the airport… you can see the planes take off and the one benefit of this spot, it’s easy to find parking on the weekend cause its… DESERTED. Unlike the downtown Brampton spot, you wont have to be spending a second searching for a place to parallel park. The spot is in the front of a commercial building and they build it nicely to be bright and airy. Lots of big windows facing the airport hangers. There is enough seating to either chill on the comfy tufted seats or a tall bar seat by the window. Service here is friendly… I think one of the owners was here on the weekend manning the place. Nice guys… really. They were helpful in sharing us whats the best flavour that we wanted (I had a sweet tooth going). Also, they mentioned it gets popular during the lunch week with everyone nearby grabbing wraps or salads. I would be happy to get this during my lunch. Cuban Smoothie – I was all for this… Pineapple, Mango, Orange, Lemon, Honey, Coconut Milk, Mint. OH yeah… this was nice naturally sweet, creamy, and refreshing. It helped it was sunny and I had this bright bold fruity drink to make me pretend easily that I was in some tropical country. I wish the mint played out a bit more but loved the pineapple and mango popping out. 5/5 Super Green – This was leprechan green … with Kale, Spinach, Banana, Pineapple, and Green Apple. For all those who’ve made their own green smoothie and wondered what did I do to myself to deserve such pain, this will change your mind on how green smoothies could be. The addition of banana and pineapple really takes it out of the vegetal and bitter green territory and puts it in the nice and healthy sweet place. 5/5 The nice part about this place (in addition to a chill environment on the weekend), is that the price isnt insane. Sure its $7 for a BIG juice but compared to downtown Toronto pricing where I’m expecting to pay $10 for 70% of the size, this is a nice break on the wallet. Overall, great spot, great people, and great drinks…. even if it’s in the middle of no where

Cafe Gelato – Menu with Prices – 845 Reynolda Rd NW, Winston-Salem

By far my favorite place to get Gelato. Cafe Gelato atmosphere is small but very cozy and relaxing. I also favor the color choice of the setting because it’s super appealing to the eye. There are various selections including VEGAN options (for my vegan friends out there). The taste was fresh and wasn’t overly sweet. You’re able to combine two flavors and she also offers waffle cones (I’m not sure if the cone is vegan but I got it for decoration lol). I also talked to the owner and she was very delightful, polite and welcoming. She also created conversation surrounding my vegan lifestyle which I felt comfortable discussing because I mean being vegan is awesome. I mentioned this because normally you get to places and they check you to complete the transaction and move on with their tasks. However, she didn’t and made me feel good about choosing this location. So for anyone looking for fresh gelato this is the place to go! You won’t be disappointed at all!

Bluetree Cafe at Collection – Menu with Prices – 600 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu

We were roaming about our Kaka’ako neighborhood when I noticed a new and second location of the Blue Tree Café. It’s located near the main entrance of The Collection condominiums and townhouses on Keawe Street, directly across from SALT At Our Kaka’ako. Walking in, we were heartily greeted by 2 friendly workers (Natasha and sorry, I didn’t get the male worker’s name). Our eyes were immediately attracted to the natural wood furnishings, hanging bicycles, then up to a loft and back to the lighted menu board behind the order counter. We got to browse about this comfortable café while they prepared our beverages. Hm, I could see frequent visits to this café as a friendly and relaxing space for meeting with friends over healthy snacks or great cups of coffee, espresso or tea. This café is noted as a modern coffee and juice bar featuring a health conscious menu of vegan snacks, açaí bowls and juice cleansing programs. We came into the café after 5PM and realized that their business hours run Monday – Friday 6 am to 6 pm and on Weekends 8 am to 6 pm so we just ordered a couple of 16 oz smoothies (Very Verde and Choco Banana). Natasha brought out our beverages and gave us FREE reusable metal straws which can be returned for recycling or inserted into our next cold beverage. Great effort in reducing our plastic footprint! Oh, I asked about their parking arrangement in The Collection. Natasha stated that it’s free in the parking structure. You can’t miss Blue Tree Café as it’s at the parking structure’s entrance on Keawe Street. We sat for a few minutes admiring this new café but then moved on as they were closing for the day. We’ll definitely return…hm, maybe we’ll see you there tomorrow?! Blue Tree Café is a welcome addition to the Kaka’ako neighborhood.

Freckle’s Juice – Menu with Prices – 3828 Dyre Ave, The Bronx

Not only is Freckle’s a Juice and Smoothie Bar, but they offer Hot items as well- with a bit of Pescatarian thrown in. Plus a strong tie-in with being plant-based and Vegetarian…definitely, right up my alley. I totally love Freckle’s’ history starting from the ground up. The setting is modern with these 2 “loungey” sofas, dark wood floors, lots of space, additional seating by a round table and counter/overhead menu- towards back left. Every inch of Freckle’s is styled with an Eclectic mix of Contemporary and African Art and lots of inspirational quotes. Looks like Freckle’s’ port of call is to order a Juice or Smoothie. But their hot foods like the Salmon Burger, Quinoa Burger, and other Vegan ones- are a hit too. Menu as a whole, is a perfect image of the islands and a lot of the Juices and Smoothies, make reference to the West Indies, Bob Marley’s songs even Eddie Grant. My Al-Mo Goodness Smoothie with Almond Milk, Agave, Oats (a few other things)- was good. Service from Zayra (?) and Ava(?) was very nice. By the way, the ladies offered me a sample of their homemade Pumpkin soup which was steamy, had a smooth Curry taste and lots of flavor! While the menu doesn’t have a ton of options like Wraps, Sandwiches, etc, Freckles is in full swing- regardless. I’d stop here if I lived any closer. Seems like Freckle’s is leading the pack among other Juice/ Smoothie and Vegan restaurants in the area. And for a first-timer, I liked it! Any other chance I get to be in the area, Freckle’s would be a nice detour!

Ka-Fair coffee and cakery – Menu with Prices – 1806 Chislett St, Pittsburgh

This place finally opened up on Wednesday and my boyfriend and I have been so excited to try it! We’ve been continually checking their Instagram (@kafair_cafe) to see what new amazing menu items have popped up…. and wow. We had high expectations and these two ladies exceeded them all. I started off with one of their cold-pressed juices, the aptly titled Green Wake-Up. It had celery, green apples, lime and a splash of honey. They brought it over to us in a glass bottle with an ice-filled glass cup on a cute little tray (see photos!) Honestly, I didn’t even feel like I was drinking something healthy–it was THAT yummy. We’ve done our rounds at all the juice bar type Pittsburgh places and this drink was just as good, if not better, than others we’ve had. Moving on to what my boyfriend ordered, the orange freshpresso! It wasn’t on the menu but we’d seen it, and salivated over it, on their Instagram account. They were super sweet and laughed that they’d forgotten to put it on the menu. The orange juice was squeezed fresh just for him and poured into an ice-filled glass (again, see photos!) On the same tray, a cup of espresso was placed and they explained that you pour it in and mix it around. No added sugar or milk, etc. It was… to die for. Simple but unique, it was the perfect drink for a hot summer morning. The caffeine gave a nice kick and the fresh orange juice was refreshing. Definitely something we’ll try to recreate at home when we can’t make it here. TRY THIS IF NOTHING ELSE!! We were both unsure of how the two would pair together but they definitely know what they’re doing here. The espresso by itself was also well-done according to my Italian boyfriend. The last thing we ordered was a piece of the crepe cake. All I really need to say here is that I’ve been talking about it for the last hour and half since we gobbled it all up. Not too sweet that you feel bad after eating it, but sweet enough that it satisfies a sweet tooth. This is one of those desserts that you can easily eat on a full stomach–it’s light and airy! It’s well worth the order and I know I’ll be craving this specific cake soon!! The women working are very sweet and you can tell they’re having a blast. Working hard and serving up amazing menu items–definitely give this a try even if it takes a little drive. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

Cafe El Meson 2 – Menu with Prices – 6624 N Clark St, Chicago

This was a perfect little cafe on the street corner. The cozy ambience made it the ideal place to just hang out and enjoy a cup of mocha. Nancy was warm and super friendly. The orange slices and chocolate coffee beans added a very special touch. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area, or make it your go to cafe for hanging out if you live in the Rogers Park area.

Terrapin Coffee & Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3146 W 14th St, Cleveland

What a wonderful little coffee shop in a super convenient spot! I am a self-admitted coffee snobs worst nightmare – I like a little coffee with my sugar, cream, and flavor syrups. I’ve been on an iced coffee kick lately and had a hankering for a sweet iced coffee to perk me up on a Friday afternoon. I got 0 judgement for liking my stuff sweet and was talked through the different options to make the coffee suit my tastes. It was delightful (still a little strong for me, but hey, I like my coffee unnaturally sweet) and so refreshing. It was late in the day so there weren’t many donuts left – I came back another day for a another excellent iced coffee and had 2 fantastic donuts – lemon raspberry (truly incredible!) and vanilla glazed (classic in all the best ways). My wife also grabbed a croissant and thought it was perfect. The interior is small but the space is well-utilized with vibrant decor and a modern industrial feel – it feels bright and airy but cozy all at the same time. They also have the coolest straws I’ve ever seen – made of hay! Super neat and interesting, as I haven’t seen those before. This is a great place – great donuts, good coffee, incredibly friendly people, in a beautiful space!

Novelty at 101 – Menu with Prices – 101 S Eola Dr suite 105, Orlando

I finally got to check this place out last Saturday for a Yelp Elite Happy Hour Event. We’ve been to this bar before but when it was called something else a few years back. Prior to Novelty, it was called Tsar Lounge but we went even before then when the name was an acronym for something like PDT (Please Don’t Tell) or something like that. Back then, it was a pretty dark inside but I remember it having some cool neon uplighting and being very Miami-esque. Upon entering the foyer, I was delighted to see how the space has completely transformed. It was light, bright, airy, modern, eclectic, and inviting! The manager Brittany was super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating, and overall just a pleasant person to interact with. She made each guest feel welcomed as if this were her own home. She explained that the concept of the space was to make everyone feel like this was their second living room. They play music at a low volume so you don’t have to shout over your friends to hear each other talk, you can play some of the board games that they have on a shelf or bring your own, you can order food and have it brought in, and you can smoke cigars or hookah inside or outside on the patio. For the Yelp event, they offered a few specialty cocktails for us to try. One was called the Thornton Park which was vodka based and mixed with fresh pressed watermelon juice from Juice’d. Another was called the Eola Sunrise and it was tequila based with fresh coconut chunks and another fresh pressed juice. It sort of tasted like an elevated margarita. Both were very delicious and refreshing and I would order again. The bartenders included a nice pour of alcohol in each. They were also very friendly and efficient and no one stood at the bar unnoticed or had the feeling of being snubbed. Insomnia Cookies provided free cookies to all attendees which was a nice treat. I tried their white macadamia nut cookie and my husband tried the chocolate chip. They were so freshly baked they were nice, warm, and melty in our hands. Gent Life, a men’s lifestyle company, was also there to promote their services and website. They provide great advice to men on fashion, food, and travel. Think of it like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy but in a website form. Everyone was invited to stay after the Yelp event was over so our newly found friends that we met while mingling at the table ordered a hookah and a couple of cigars. We moved over to one of the couches and kept the party going. The couch was beautiful and comfy and we found out each piece of furniture in the place is for sale! I liked how they had different couches spread out throughout the space so everyone could have their little nook. There is plenty of seating and tables outside too. I want to thank Andi from Yelp for putting on another great event! I really hope this place does well. I feel like it should fit in with the Thornton Park crowd as it’s a very chill and unpretentious place. I will definitely be coming back again.

I Love Juice Bar – Murfreesboro – Menu with Prices – 804 N Thompson Ln #1j, Murfreesboro

I’m SO HAPPY that a place like this exists in Murfreesboro. Excellent juices and smoothies and even better selection of light healthy dishes, including açaí bowls, spring rolls, and soups. In an area full of fast food and nutrient-poor dining selections, this place is fucking Mecca. Came in today with my fiancé, and we were not disappointed. Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Property is clean, bright, and colorful. I could easily come back here to study/work on my laptop because of the chill atmosphere. They have wifi! Now for the most important details: the food! We had the Orange You Glad juice, Coffee Janet Smoothie, Spring Rolls, and Red Lentil soup. Everything was fresh and yummy. I particularly enjoyed the smoothie (Wowza!), but I could and would order any of these items again. Thank you Juice Bar for making my life in TN a healthier and happier one. I salute you!

Paradise Food & Bar – Menu with Prices – 12485 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando

The name bakery is misleading because this is a wonderful cafe. They have a great assortment of bakery items, empanadas, ice cream, wraps and salads. A very nice assortment of beverages besides coffee, juices, beer, wine and cocktails. The decor theme is garden but in very clean and comfortable way. I stepped to the counter and ordered a quinoa salad and I tried one of the chicken empanadas. I chose to add chicken to the quinoa salad. This was a super salad. A large very tasty salad which could make two meals for me. I liked that the salad was mixed in a bowl instead of just quinoa placed on a bed of lettuce. It had tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, quinoa, lettuce spring mix, and nuts in a house made salad dressing which had a hint of ginger. The chicken was a generous serving and I really loved this salad. I definitely would order this again. I also ordered a chicken empanada. I actually prefer the smaller ones that are not a bunch of fried dough. This one was just the right size and I enjoyed the chicken filling. They have sandwiches and wraps available in the case and ready to go. They seem to come with a sprinkling of chips. They had a chicken parmigiana which I want to try next time. They plan to offer a happy hour. Right now they are in their soft opening. The only thing I did not enjoy was that my quinoa salad came with a plastic spork. It is a personal preference and with the small quinoa and larger pieces of chicken I am not sure which utensil is appropriate. Paradise Bakery is a great addition to the neighborhood

Coffee + Crisp Menu with Prices 12885 Research Blvd Ste 109, Austin

Pros: – Super sweet staff who will take the time to answer any and all questions you have! I even hit one of their cars, but she was still really nice afterward. (Don’t worry–we figured out insurance and all.) – Really great prices for typical sizes – Unique and high-quality syrups – Non-dairy options: coconut and almond milk – Chill and bright ambience – Free WiFi – Adorable homemade rice crispies (with seasonal flavors) and fresh tacos served 8-noon daily! Cons: – It’s difficult to find parking at times in this smaller plaza, but that’s not the cafe’s fault

Desert Monks Brewing Co. – Menu with Prices – 1094 S Gilbert Rd Suite 101, Gilbert

My husband and I came to this spot on a Tuesday evening and felt very comfortable and instantly at home! This location was very chill and welcoming. It’s clean, new and has a large bar. Some of the tables have chalkboards for the surface, good addition for fun and games. It felt very much like we were at a brewery on top of the mountains hanging with modern monks. My husband and I were welcomed right away and sat at the bar. I loved how there were hooks for purses and plugs for charging electronic devices. Not what I generally look for in any bars but what a nice touch. The bartenders were so incredibly friendly and told us about the establishment and different beers. Before ordering anything they offered to have us try anything first. We ordered two separate flights and really enjoyed every single one! There were beers that were fruity and refreshing and some dark and strong! I don’t generally like IPAs but I really liked the different ones here! They even offered non-alcoholic options too for other guests. FYI – This is a beverage only spot. Although there is no food, they encourage bringing your own and even order via Postmates or Uber eats. They also like to schedule food-trucks on the weekends, another plus! As I discovered this evening and even when writing this review, this place is amazing on the surface but also had many pluses and pays close attention to detail. Overall I don’t know much about Monks, but I love their new brewery in the desert! I can’t wait to go back again with more friends!
