This local place has a ton of goodies and is good for a solid cup of coffee. Located in a place where another yogurt shop closed, this place has kept it on their menu but also added coffee. Pros- Great local small business. They have a ton of selections when it comes to coffee- made all different ways of too- lattes, cappuccinos, etc. They use local Sweetwater Organics coffee, which has a nice bold flavor depending on the roast. They also offer ice cream and frozen yogurt as well as local bakery treats from Baker Baker (also known as Amanda’s Traditional Bakeshop). I’ve also seen some selection of organic teas and drinks. It’s also a staple for the surrounding Haile/ Tower Rd. area- there’s not much in the way of local coffee shops. They also have a reward system where you can get a free coffee after 10 visits and routinely have specials on their Facebook page. It’s also very kid friendly- I always see kids in the afternoon after school doing their homework. They do have some tables inside and outside. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Cons- If you are used to sugary, frappucino style concoctions this place is not for you. They do have some flavoring syrups but not as extensive as Starbucks, which is ok in my book. Other than that-and probably the location for some people- there aren’t many cons. Overall, this little spot makes a more than decent cup of coffee at a great price. If you miss Baker Baker pastries and want a good cup of coffee, I recommend Fiore’s.

Fairfax Community Church – Menu with Prices – 11451 Braddock Rd, Fairfax

I really wish I had found out about this place sooner, especially while I was a student. This little coffee shop is the ideal spot to do homework, catch up with a girlfriend before work, or just read a book. The environment is so relaxing! I personally could never focus at Starbucks for homework…but I could see myself here! They have tables like a library but also little couches and cute decor. It’s such a perfect nook. I ordered their cappuccino with soy milk, the perfect frothy heaven drink! I’m huge on froth. My friend got the green tea. It’s also very affordable!! Two drinks were $5! Imagine that! I saw a bunch of cool drinks available with cool flavors like frozen cappuccinos and smoothies. I also got a jalapeño cheese bagel and man was it filling! They have toasters and serve yourself jelly and coffee condiments. It’s nice they cover the basics of offering coffee, tea, and food but also go the extra mile with baked goods and sandwiches. I love the variety they offer while being an authentically warm and quiet place. Worth stopping by!!

Global Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1513 N Zaragoza Rd, El Paso

This might be the best espresso joint in town. Overall better than Hillside Coffee and Donut in the Westside. I wish this place was in Jacksonville FL because it beats most of the coffee joints there. PROS) Get the ‘Global Coffee’ drink. It is fabulous. Cool bourgeoise atmosphere Nice cups and jars when drinking inside Service Very clean inside CONS) Patio outside is useless when sun is directly on you…y’all need to buy umbrellas…this is the Sun City after all Not much seating so could easily fill up if a crowd comes

Freeze Frame Yogurt Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 2511 Airport Thruway A, Columbus

This was my second time here to this location and this happens to be one of the best Yogurt shoppe’s in town. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful she made sure the yogurt add on’s was stocked so once the customer gets to the part where they can add crushed cookies, or etc to their Yogurt it’ll be there for them. There is plenty of seating inside of this location which is nice and different bathrooms for the men and the ladies. They have a lot of different Yogurt options you can choose from I chose Watermelon then thirty minutes later I went and purchased Coconut it was delicious. Outside of the location offers people to bring their children outside to play and also has outdoor seating in the shade away from the sun or if you do like sitting in the sun they have seating for that to.

Merante Brothers Italian American Market – Menu with Prices – 6 Marion St, Pittsburgh

Old-school, full-service family owned deli and market that just re-opened in Uptown. I really mean full-service. You’ll likely deal with one of two Merante brothers or their father who will always be smiling as they tell you the daily specials – and ask if there’s anything you need. The prices are great, the quality is even better, and the service is the best. They’re stocked with all the need-to-have corner store essentials AND great homemade specials every day. If you happen to be visiting Pittsburgh and looking to capture the old-school blue-collar culture: this is your place. I’ve been visiting to check the specials daily. I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.

Blk Dot Coffee – Menu with Prices – 924 Spectrum Center Dr, Irvine

Rarely will you find me in the depths of Irvine, CA. In my eyes, theres nothing to do and everything you could want to do can be done in Los Angeles. Putting obsession with my city to the side, I have to give big props to the owners of BLKdot Coffee. You get culture, good coffee, and good vibes all in one visit. I have never had Vietnamese coffee before and I was enthused to try it. Ordered my usual, Almond Milk Latte and spent a whopping $4.80 on a 12 oz. Considering the location is not in Los Angeles I was a tad surprised the price was still that high. I thought maybe it would be $3.50 or $4.00 max with tax. The coffee itself was really good. Everyone always asks me “how do you know if coffee is good or not”. You’ll know if the acidity, bitterness, and sweetness are fairly balanced. Basically BLKdot’s coffee was pleasantly balanced. In terms of service, the staff was great! I waited maybe 5 minutes for my drink and there were a ton of people. The cashier was friendly and kind. Now….why does BLKdot coffee get 4 stars instead of 5. They get 4 because I am a fan of their coffee BUT the way the inside of the shop is set up…I’m not for it. I love, love, love the decor. The natural woods, touches of greenery, subway tiles, the old school lights, I mean they hit the nail on the head with decor and ensuring the place is inviting and chill. However, I need them to move that couch in the middle of the place and put in some more tables!!!! They have 2 tables outside, 2 tables inside, and a bar for two people. What does this mean? It means if you like to get work done in coffee shops you have to show up to this place earlllllyyyy as hell if you want a table otherwise you’ll be breaking your neck sitting on the couch using the little coffee tables on the side. Final thought? I’ll pop into this cute lil shop if I am in Irvine again…keyword being IF.

A’Roma Roasters Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 95 5th St, Santa Rosa

This isn’t a very good place to do homework Reason being is there’s limited areas where Outlets exist most of the seating is in the middle and there’s no Outlets, and then other outlets on the walls going around the back of the seating area. limited seating for the booths. They have like 20 Outlets where the booths are but like six seats which doesn’t make a lot of sense at all. A good place to do homework would be Starbucks on Mission, yulupa, Flying Goat coffee, Acre Coffee Downtown and in Montgomery Village. Aromaz to me is a good place to meet friends and have a fun time, they don’t have air conditioning so it’s always stuffy on hot days or even warm days. For me personally I’m not too into it but I’m sure others have great reasons to come here this is just my opinion.

EarlyBaker Bistro – Menu with Prices – 4025 E Chandler Blvd Suite 1 & 2, Phoenix

Talk about a hidden gem down near the Ahwatukee Foothills! The Early baker offers a unique vibe from the relaxing lounge area to enjoy a coffee, to your traditional sit down tables and lastly the big tables that feel you are at home eating dinner with your family! The inside is warm and has cute branding of the rooster to align with the early baker aesthetic! They offer breakfast all day, baked goods, delicious Mediterranean entrees and sandwiches. Plus if you are looking for traditional Turkish coffee, this is the place! Serving Illy Coffee and their lattes are light and more traditional lattes that you would expect in Europe. My top favorite dishes were the french toast which was made with homemade bread and it seriously made all the difference. Not sickish sweet but the flavors were amazing! My next favorite was the lamb! You can get lamb here for $15.95! I am telling you, the flavors in the lamb were blended to perfection and reminded me of eating greek food back on the East coast with my family. The mixed grill platter had some amazing seasoned meat! If you love kebabs, this is the plate for you. I cannot think of anything I did not like here. The cheesecake was out of this world. With the lightness of the cheescake and the lemon that cut the sweetness, it was soooo good! I will be back for more because the Early Baker blew it away with taste, hospitality and homie vibes. Also they have a private event tea room for rental and offer gluten free options for their pies and some treats. So check them out, its my secret go to place in the foothills!

Angel’s Island Coffee – Menu with Prices – 7538 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville

Such a cute coffee place! Huntsville is just now entering the cute/aesthetic coffee shop scene, but this place has been here since the beginning. I came here because of the proximity to S. Huntsville and the variety of options. I like to keep it simple, and I liked how their iced coffee comes with coffee ice cubes! I went 3 times in the past week, and got a different SF flavor shot each time. I couldn’t help it- they had EVERY single flavor of Torani so I had to go ham. I loved how they bring even a simple coffee to your table, and the atmosphere is overall very nice. I was able to study for a few hours each day and it wasn’t too loud even though people were coming in and out for coffee/breakfast. This is an abundance of tables and outlets for charging your electronic devices. Staff is very friendly and accommodating!

Uncle Leroy’s Coffee Menu with Prices 701 W 36th Ave #18, Anchorage

I always enjoy coming down here whether it’s to study or just relax for awhile with a good cup of coffee. Uncle Leroy’s is the newest coffee shop addition in the midtown area at a small shopping center next to Wings N’ Things off of 36th and Arctic. The seating area atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, with living room chairs at the end and tables with a long comfortable padded bench set up against the wall. The employees are very friendly as well, always giving a warm greeting and quickly taking your order. The menu has a versatile selection of drinks and food. The food consists of items like Homemade Granola, Greek Yogurt, Bagels, and options from local vendors like a Cheese Plate with Salami from Fromaggio’s Artisanal Cheese as well as Donuts from both Dipper Donuts and Dino’s. The real star here of course is the coffee. 2lb. Small Batch Coffee with blends from Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, Sumatra, and Colombia among others are roasted to order which is convenient for customers who don’t have the time to roast their own beans. Daily Specials are displayed on a chalkboard for deals on drinks like the Trucker’s Cup at a great price for only $2.50. In addition, Uncle Leroy’s holds live music events for local musicians and art exhibits from local artists. The place has plenty of outlets for portable devices and is popular with college students working on their studies. This place has done very well so far from its start by serving coffee from an old bus to working the Spenard Farmers Market and finally settling down as a really cool trendy coffee bar.

Erin Baker’s Wholesome Baked Goods Menu with Prices 427 Ohio St, Bellingham

I recently had a chance to visit Erin Baker’s retail shop on Ohio St. and I was SHOCKED I had never been here before! This place is simply adorable, decorated in a classic kitchen style with cabinets full of Erin Baker’s cookies, granola, and all sorts of yummy goodness. One of the coolest things about this place is they have Erin Baker’s granola in BULK! So if you just need a little bit (or a lot) you have options galore. They also sell specialty baking ingredients and the prices are really good. I walked out of here feeling like I’d been let in on a Bellingham secret! If you love Erin Baker’s products, or you’re a baker yourself, definitely check this place out.

Smart Cow Yogurt Bar – Menu with Prices – 2450 E Mason St, Green Bay

This is just what the namby pamby socialists in Liberal Town wanted for us. A healthy dessert place. Yogurt in Green Bay? You’re insane. On principle, I had avoided the frozen yogurt trend like the plague until I realized I could dump on thousands of calories in toppings whenever I wanted. Get with the times. You’ll get fat here and love it. Such great flavors here and a really friendly staff who’ll let you sample as much as you’d like. This business also helps out local schools by often hosting fundraising events.

Peachwave Frozen Yogurt of Kalamazoo – Menu with Prices – 5907 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo

We stopped by tonight to try it out. The shop is described as “self serve” and indeed it is set up so that no wait staff prepares or touches your dessert. You choose a flavor or flavors of frozen yogurt and/or gelato, combine it with other toppings like pineapple chucks or maraschino cherries, the staff weighs the final result, and you pay a certain amount per weight. The shop was bright and clean, the staff was attentive, and there was outside and inside seating. There are reduced sugar and non diary options. There were a lot of toppings from which to choose. As the shop describes itself as offering “low fat frozen yogurt and gelato” I was neither surprised nor disappointed that the frozen yogurt I chose – 1/2 coconut and 1/2 pina colada – did not have the luxuriousness (or mouth feel) of Ritter’s Frozen Custard. But it still was quite good.
