The peach rose kombucha is delicious, crisp and clean. It was a pleasure meeting a Georgia-raised Oregonian yesterday at

Submarine House – Menu with Prices – 7850 N Main St, Dayton

I had never been here before and had the pleasure of eating here yesterday after a business meeting near by. The pricing is a little high at first glance but the value of the food is more than worth the cost of entry. I’ve had a lot of cheese steaks in my time and this is definitely one of the best I’ve had. Try this place if you haven’t.

VerHage Fruit Farms & Cider Mill – Menu with Prices – 8619 W Ml Ave, Kalamazoo

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, then spending twelve years working in Los Angeles followed by seventeen years in New Orleans with brief stints in Georgia and South Carolina, I have never had the pleasure of experiencing how amazing October can be-the crisp air, the fiery colors of autumn leaves, and all of the wonderful scents and flavors of this region. The apple orchards, seen from a hay ride in the sun, produce the best cider I have ever tasted. My family just moved here to Kalamazoo over Labor Day weekend, and the happy hours we spent at the cider mill last Sunday showed me how magic fall can be.

Roots Coffee and Tea – Menu with Prices – 1685 Hertel Ave, Buffalo

What a wonderful addition to Hertel Ave! I work a block away so I came down on my lunch break to enjoy a cup of tea and do some reading. There is a large outdoor patio overlooking the strip. The interior is quaint and cozy. The menu consists of coffee, specialty espresso drinks, tea, kombucha, and pastries (which I heard were sold out by 10am!). I ordered the emporer peach white tea, which was presented on a platter with a cute tea cup, a small pitcher infusing my tea (which came out to about 3 cups of tea), and a timer so I knew when my tea was brewed. It was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back to try their kombucha and try to get my hands on a pastry. Welcome Roots and I’m so glad to have you here!!

Urban Farm Fermentory & Gruit Brewing Co. – Menu with Prices – 200 Anderson St, Portland

Flights of kombucha on tap? YES please! This was my first time visiting a kombucha fermentory, came highly recommended by a food science friend. Arrived close to their opening hours, so the place was just getting set up (I remember a staff member adjusting the handwritten chalkboard menu to account for their day’s flavors). Tried blueberry, holy basil and ginger kombucha, unflavored “OG” jun (which is the green-tea cousin of kombucha sweetened with honey), and one of the meads (basil flavor). All were really tasty and surprisingly the mead was bitingly sweet and something I could enjoy with my low alcohol tolerance. Nice vibrant cozy atmosphere where you’re sitting under a ceiling of hanging dried herbs. They have ready-bottled kombucha in a refrigerator which sell at 4 for $15 (you can mix & match). One thing I have to comment though is the women’s bathroom was VERY sketch. I mean, the lights seemed like they were barely turned on (it was so dark in there I could barely see), the sink was dirty, and it was cold with the door flimsily propped open so it made me wanna do my business and run right out.

It’s Boba Time – Menu with Prices – 136 S Brand Blvd, Glendale

We were craving boba and happened to be in the area we decided to stop by Boba Time for a couple drinks. The line was extremely long but we decided to wait it out. We ordered the Strawberry Matcha & Mango Peach Smoothie. My Strawberry Matcha drink wasn’t good, it tasted very watered down, not sweet enough, and barely had any strawberry flavor once it was all mixed together. Definitely not comparable to Boba Guys’ Strawberry Matcha Latte if you’ve ever had it. I would say the boba helped add sweetness to the drink, otherwise it would’ve been very bland and not much of a pleasure to drink. I would probably try a different drink next time if I was in the area and wanted boba again. The Mango Peach Smoothie tasted like your average Mango Peach Smoothie at other boba spots. Nothing too special about it but it tasted way better than the Strawberry Matcha.

Cultured South Fermentation Co. Menu with Prices 1038 White St SW, Atlanta

Cultured South is Atlanta’s first kombucha tap room and they have been open for 3 days! You definitely need to check this place out. First, let’s talk about kombucha.. it may not be your cup of tea (pun intended), but the type that is served at Cultured South is amazing. They offer Golda Kombucha and it is far milder than any kombucha I have tried. There is no vinegary taste due to the fermentation process they use but the health benefits are the same. The tap room is located in the West End on White Street, near to the Monday Night Brewery Garage location. It is a bit tucked away but trust your GPS. There is ample parking in their lot, too. The interior space is beautiful and simple with lots of seating and they will soon be adding a beltline facing outdoor patio. I sat at the bar when I visited and ordered a kombucha flight. For $8 you can try 5 of their rotating flavors. My favorites were the mango habanero and the lavender lemon. You can also order a 16oz. glass of any available flavor or grab a 16oz bottle or growler to go. If you do purchase a bottle or growler, know that they are both refillable at a discounted price. If kombucha is too healthy for you, add gelato! They offer kombucha floats using local Revolution Gelato or Honeysuckle Gelato. There isn’t a food menu per say, but there is a vegan cheese board available using local Pure Abundance cashew cheese. I can’t wait to try this! Cultured South is all about fermentation. If you don’t know the health benefits of consuming fermented foods, give it a google. Your tummy will thank you.

Tudor Rose English Tea Room – Menu with Prices – 733 4th St, Santa Rosa

Who would have thought that a place like this could exist in California! This is truly one of the most whimsical, enchanting and heartwarming experiences I have ever gotten the pleasure of enjoying. Each place setting has its own charm, each table has a different centerpiece, and the HATS, you get to wear the hats, all of which are vintage!!! After choosing our very own hat, men included, we sat down to start our British Afternoon! I was so overwhelmed by the ambiance I was convinced that the high tea would be a disappointment…oh boy was I wrong. The service was beyond charming, Amanda and Angela took their time with us by answering all of our questions and walking us through each option (there’s a vegan/gluten free tea as well!!). Mind you, this was on a fairly busy day! Once we chose a few high tea selections, shortly after Amanda placed some milk + cream on the table. She quickly explained how to enjoy each high tea item with these friendly additions and before we knew it, she was back with our yummy teas! We got to try the Tudor Rose(black), Jasmine Rose(green) and The Peach Apricot(black), all of which made me melt into my seat. ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS!! Especially with a splash of milk, thank you for the tea recommendation girls! The food came out on adorable mismatched tiers, with traditional doilies + silk flowers. I asked the girls if they ever tried fresh flowers on the tiers and supposedly they had. Too many people were allergic to the flowers, and they didn’t like running through fresh flowers for them to just get thrown away, so they changed over to a beautiful silk selection. They get washed and sanitized, and still look fabulous, I think its a genius addition to the experience! THE FOOD…the banana scone with Carmel drizzle, the sausage roll with flakey crust and a bit of kick, the delicious french onion soup, the assortment of traditional sandwiches, and best of all the bread pudding and cheesecake! OUT OF THIS WORLD! Nothing was too dry, too hot/cold, and the portions were just perfection. **You receive so much food and they offer boxes/bags(some tearooms don’t allow you to take food home) just incase you have someone at home that deserves a treat, or if you want to enjoy the rest at your own leisure! We laughed, we learned, and best of all we got to share this magical experience together as a family. This is should be a franchise so everyone around the world can save a little room in their heart for the Tudor Rose. Going to rave about this place for years, and I will forever come back to “the real Mary Poppins house” Thank you Angela and The Tudor Rose staff!

Trove Coffee Menu with Prices 228 N Samish Way, Bellingham

I was really enthusiastic about this place until yesterday. Until yesterday, every person who took my order was really top-notch in customer service–it was always a pleasure to go there, because it’s a really pretty shop, the coffee is good and the waitstaff was really warm and kind. The woman who took my order yesterday was nice enough, but she refused to punch my Trove card–you know, after you’ve bought 10 coffees or whatever, you get a free coffee. So, I spent $10.95 on a slice of quiche and a coconut water. I can’t order coffee late in the day or the caffeine keeps me up at night. So I hand her the punch-card and she says she can’t punch it because I didn’t order coffee or tea. I spend $10.95, but that’s not worth a punch. That’s a stupid policy. I can understand if I’d bought something for 99 cents, then a rule like that would make sense. But having a blanket rule that no matter how much the patron spends, if they haven’t bought coffee or tea they can’t get a punch toward a free coffee? That’s just idiotic, and bad customer service.

North Orange County Community College District Menu with Prices 1830 W Romneya Dr, Anaheim

wwwDid someone say eat at college??? I say FINE FINE dining! I did not feel like I walked in a restuarant on campus. I felt like I walked into a fun, friendly, professional fine dining. The atmosphere was so full of energy! Everyone was super excited, happy and ready to EAT! The staff was very attentive and welcoming. I CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK! Today was a SOUTHERN kinda DAY, 9/20/2018. Biscuit- The most moist biscuit I have ever had. Im not a big fan of biscuit due to its dullness and dry. The minute you bite into this one, it instantly gives you a smell of buttery and sweetness savory long with a light crispiness on the outside. Not to mention that sweet smooth butter, I can eat that with everyhting! Compressed watermelon salad- The name really portrait the exact expectation of this dish. “COMPRESSED”. It is almost like eating a big portion of the watermelon but it got compressed in one perfect single bite! So dense, super sweet! Along with the arugula and blue cheese really compromise and balance my palette. Super refreshing, super happy! Buttermilk fried chicken- I eat alot of fried chicken and when it comes to breast, I think of dry and yet healthier….i guess…lol. This dish, I didnt have to, i got the best of both world. You can tell if the chicken and skin is made perfect when you first put your knife and make your first cut in the middle of the chicken, juice you can see with the naked eyes! The knife made one cut straight down. I wondered if it was SOUS VIDE!!! I love chicken skin, but I don’t like the heavy batter. This light batter was coated perfectly to the skin where it was still in tack with meat when cut! The sweet mustard green was not a big hit for me. It was too sweet! I think perhaps lighter on the sweetest or mix it with corn or diced red pepper would give it a better combination. Im not a big mac&cheese, but I finished that side too! Its extremely light and I think it compliments the more intense mustard greens. Carolina Pulled pork sandwich- I ate half of my friend’s sandwich too! Haha. Yes I’m a big eater and I’m proud of that! :))) many pulled pork sandwich usually has tons of bbq sauce to give u an overall soft and juicy bite and it can be messy. Well, this sandwich didnt quite need the sauce as the pork was quite soft and still give that bbq smoked flavor. I probably would enjoy it more if the bread was softer and less dense. GEORGIA PEACH CRISP DESSERT! I love desserts that make u keep wanting more because it didnt overkill you with too much sweetness! I love the fact that it was not the usual vanilla ice cream top, it was a savory and sweet like yogurt delight ice cream. Good amount of crispiness. A little too much peach combination for me but if you love peach, you wouldn’t complain right? Professor Lisa- It was an honor meeting and chating with. Your passion truely resonates the environment! If you had a service to roll me out, I think I’ll eat another round :))))) Lastly, I have to say it reminded me and bought back memory when I was in Atlanta exploring and eating until I drop. Keep up the awesome work!

Babe Kombucha – Menu with Prices – 2402, 5401 Linda Vista Rd #409, San Diego

When you try the Kombucha at Babe, you’ll be wondering why you’ve been wasting all your money on the bottled stuff from the store. This is the first Kombucha tap room in San Diego and it’s so so good. They’ve got a bunch of different flavors on tap. For $5, you can try out a flight and for just $10 you can take a growler home. They have super cute branded growlers and when you bring them back, the refills are $9. After 5 fills, you get 1 free. I loved everything I tried. They didn’t have that overly bitter taste that comes from supermarket booch that sits too long. The Mango Mango is so fruity and flavorful. The Coco Loco smells deliciously like coconut. They’ve got a ton of flavors that are all wonderful. They even have a special water with Yerba mate for natural caffeine. The owner was there and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly loves brewing and made our experience so pleasant. We’ll definitely be back regularly for some great tasting Kombucha.

Black Dog on The Square – Menu with Prices – 567 Industrial Dr, Tallahassee

Black dog is absolutely amazing in all aspects possible. The owner is the sweetest lady ever that makes great conversation. Bring your pup and get a treat for him/her. If you get the chance to go and they happen to have their ginger beer kombucha, do yourself a favor and get it. This is by far my favorite kombucha ever and I wish it was a permanent menu item. Aside from their life changing kombucha they have amazing goodies. They have small lunch items, pastries, popsicles. They have it all. They are super vegan friendly as well. They have an assortment of alternative milks and vegan goodies. The baristas are so sweet and give great recommendations if you ask. Black dog is a great place to meet up with friends or study. They have wonderful patio seating and offer free WiFi. Black dog is by far one of my favorite coffee shops in town.

Seven Seas Kombucha – Menu with Prices – 9863 Pacific Heights Blvd Suite D, San Diego

Just like the craft beer brewery spike, the kombucha breweries I feel are on the rise. This one is located in a random business park and is not 5 minutes away from work for me so I have come to sit in here to do work a few times already. The owner is usually chilling here during the day in complete silence, but he always makes sure to put on some tunes for me, usually those conducive to working, so nothing loud and distracting. As others have mentioned, their kombucha is very light and not as vinegary as others. They are mildly sweet with a pop of fluff from the corresponding flavor. Kombucha, when not fermented for a long period of time such as hard kombucha, is lower in sugar AND alcohol content, but there is still *some* of both. Kombucha usually floats under 1% ABV, so therefore they are still considered a non-alcoholic beverage (according to the FDA). STILL, on an empty stomach, consuming an entire flight of tasters (16oz total) *has* gotten me buzzed and oddly loopy. Seven Seas seems to have at least 6 core flavors available at any given time, with a couple of R&D flavors available off menu. I have enjoyed their Jasmine tea/ Grapefruit flavor from this series. From their core line-up, I prefer their *Island Hopper*, a dryer, more direct kombucha with the Nelson hops and juniper berries. They otherwise have a good variety of flavors ranging from traditional & herbal (e.g. Honey Mate, Tuk Tuk Tea) to fruitier (e.g. Sea Breeze, Garden of Eden). Their biggest crowd pleaser is their *Cactus Nectar* which is rather refreshing. It’s even available on tap recently at Blue Box Bagel down the street. I appreciate creativity and craft especially when it involves things I love — tea, yeast, and healthy, wholesome products. This brewery is doing everything right and they are still in their infancy stages. I can’t wait to see what else they will churn out!
