Ken replaced a djembe head recently and it is one of the most beautiful skins I’ve ever seen. The drum plays great, too! Much recommended.

Marlins Brewhouse – Menu with Prices – 5611 Six Mile Commercial Ct suite 4, Fort Myers

We stopped by Marlins/Chronic Tacos today. Loved everything about it. Nice beer selection as well as a full bar. We shared the pretzel stuffed with their house-made cheese sauce and it was fantastic. Then we shared the potato skins – also house-made and delicious. Unlike any potato skins you’ve had. We were skeptical about the use of Swiss cheese rather than the traditional cheddar, but it was perfect. If I could make recommendation it would be to serve the potato skins on a platter rather than in a bowl. While the food and drinks were fantastic the best part of our experience was the staff. We had two servers and both were friendly and engaging. It was clear that they enjoy working there. We forgot to take photos of our delicious food but we did take a photo of the Black and Tans we ordered. They poured them so that it looked like there must be a plate of glass between the black and the tan. Amazing.

Wings ‘N Things – Menu with Prices – 7814 Cortez Rd W, Bradenton

Where do I start….first of all DON’T let the looks of the shopping complex/exterior fool you. This is a hidden gem!!! First we stared off with potato skins and onion rings….haven’t had potato skins in years and they were great and the onion rings were AMAZING! Then we got the 30 pc wings with 3 different flavors on each set of 10. The Asian was awesome, sweet with a teriyaki kick to them, the Sweet Blackened were probably our favorite with kind of a sweet and smoky taste to them and then the Medium were tangy with a little kick to them. By far these were the best wings I’ve had in years!! The service was great on top of everything so we will definitely be back!!!

401 Dixie Automall – Menu with Prices – 5500 Dixie Rd, Mississauga

Extremely disapointing! First the man behind the desk hasn’t known what part is to be replaced and ask me on condition that somebody from the service department called me to inform the order had arrived!? And please pay attention, the order had arrived 7 months after it was found what part should be replaced! And the most disappointing and really dishonoring was the fact that after 2 and a half hours waiting, I was told the part was not replaced as it did not match, a wrong part has been ordered! What a unprofessionalism was it! I do not want to use the service of 401 Duxie VW!

Perry’s Embarcadero – Menu with Prices – 155 Steuart St, San Francisco

I was invited to a ladies afternoon in SF. We would be dining at Perry’s. I came to yelp, and the most unappealing picture of breadsticks were the header. I became concerned. Fortunately, the other pictures, plus the stars gave me hope. I was looking forward to trying the calamari and potato skins. The pics were amazing! We caught the bart so I’m not sure about the parking. The location is relatively close walking distance from Embarcadero bart. The entrance is actually to a hotel. So you wait in the lobby of the hotel if you are waiting for other members of your party. The hotel’s front desk employees were very polite. They told us to help ourselves to the coffee/tea area while we waited. She even offered to take a picture of us. We had a reservation, so after everyone arrived we were seated. The restuarant had a nice ambiance. Nice bar area. Large windows and a view of the bridge. The calamari and potato skins weren’t on the brunch menue. I asked the waitress and she took the initiative to try to accommodate me. I ordered eggs benedict as an alternative, I’m not difficult, I can compromise. She came back a few minutes later and said I could have my original request. I was so happy! Btw, our waitress was amazing. We had a fairly large party and she handled it with ease! Smiled the ENTIRE time. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name. Everyone’s food looked really good! My skins were A 1!!! Perfection. Lots of bacon and cheese. I ate it with a knife and fork. The calamari was just alright. It was bland. The crunch was there but hardly any flavor. Salt would have made all the difference. Disappointing Something that made the experience underwhelming was the proximity of the kitchen. Every so often (more than twice), you would be hit with a burning smell. Then everyone looks around wondering what is it that’s burning. And you hope it’s not something being brought out to your table. All in all. The food is good. I HIGHLY reccomend the potato skins!

Durham Performing Arts Center – Menu with Prices – 123 Vivian Street, Durham

This is a beautiful theatre, with excellent sightlines throughout and good sound. It is home to all kinds of performances from concerts by famous artists to plays, including Broadway favorites like Cats and more modern plays like Dear Evan Hanson and semi-recent works like Book of Mormon. When Hamilton came to town, of course it was a huge selloutâ??fortunately it was included in Broadway Series season ticket packages, and season ticket holders were given an early opportunity to buy two extra seats for it. . . Located in the heart of the city at the head of the handsome and historic American Tobacco District, it is served by two parking decks, with red-coated volunteer guides stationed all along the way, so you won’t get lost or fall victim to crime. It is also surrounded by several dining establishments for a pre-show meal, including NanaSteak right outside the front door, plus it has snack bars and lobby cocktail bars. One major design gripeâ??for a $50 million dollar facility, they failed to provide rest room facilities for the upper balcony, which is where you will be unless you have been a subscriber for years, so you are forced to descend to mezzanine level and wait in a ridiculously long line (worse for women) for one inadequately sized room and pray you can get in and out before intermission ends. The elevator lines are also long. . . This is owned by the city; it is operated by the Nederlander Organization, the second-largest owner of Broadway theatres in the USA. I call it the jewel in Durham’s crown.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken – Menu with Prices – 6056 N Dixie Dr, Dayton

I almost never have a problem with this location. But my daughter brought 2 of the Wednesday specials. She gets the order home to find that she is 1 piece of chicken short. I called a total of 8 times throughout that day. No one ever picked up the phone. The next evening I called and finally was able to explain the situation. The manager told me that the chicken would be replaced. I go today to get 1 piece of replacement chicken and you would have thought that the entire order was being replaced. I ended up with possibly the oldest piece of chicken that they had up there. It was dried up and old. For me to receive something that was to be replaced because I paid for it seemed of no importance to the male manager who gave me old chicken. Won’t be returning to this location if at all possible.

Eagle Lakes Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 18100 Royal Tree Pkwy, Naples

Played a couple rounds down here again on 10/24/13 and 10/25/13 and have noticed much improvement than the past year. I was told there is a new sup. and they are putting a lot more time, money, and effort into the course and it has already started to show. The fairways and tees were in great shape, but the biggest difference was in the greens and rough. They re-sodded a couple of greens and verticut and overall were rolling much much better than in the past. It looks like they have also replaced and worked on the patchy uneven lies and weeds in the rough. You can already tell the course is back on the right track. I played a couple of rounds from different tees and enjoyed each one. From the back, I tee, it is a real challenge and brings a lot of danger into play, especially on the back 9. The course plays completely different from the II tees, transforming into a shot-making course with distance control a priority. Apart from the golf it is also a great wildlife course, seeing a variety of birds, fish and turtles, as well as at least a half dozen gators and bald eagles! I’m now more excited to come back instead of it simply being convenient.

Buffalo Ranch Wings & Things – Menu with Prices – 4315 E Shields Ave, Fresno

Went with the wifey for boneless wing Monday $0.50 Wings (Min 6 per order / flavor). We got the Medium, Garlic Parm and Spicy Seasoning. Along with an order of Potato Skins. The Potato Skins were AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Will defiantly be getting those again. $6 for 6 Skins with a good amount of potato let on them with cheese (assume its cheddar) bacon and green onions. The boneless wings. They were large in size and cooked good. very crispy outside and tender, juicy inside. The Spice Seasoning, well, still not really sure what it is… Obviously a dry rub. Didn’t notice any “spicy”… The Garlic Parm, well… It was dry garlic and parm on top of a naked wing. The medium, well… Tasted like any generic “hot” wing. Butter and generic hot sauce (flavor wise very similar to the well know brand FRH). I asked them about trying other flavors. They said they did not have a sampler plate (WHY NOT?!?), but I could try the sauce by them selves for free. I tried the three hottest sauces. Hot, well. Seemed identical to the Medium, but with less butter. Making it well, hotter! Suicide, well. This flavor should have been the hot flavor. It was a little grainy, probably from added dry spice (Red Pepper?). I liked this flavor!! Then the Atomic!! Compared to the Suicide, I didn’t find this flavor hotter, just a different flavor. I preferred the flavor of the Atomic over the Suicide. Why 4 stars? The food and service was great! The Boneless Wings, just seemed to be missing something.. Not sure what it was. Will be back to try out the Traditional Wings. While we were eating, they took several to go orders by phone. This seemed to be a popular way for locals to pick up orders. All in all, this is a great little mom and pop wing place in an old Taco Bell building. There is not much in the way of tables (4 total inside). However, they do have free refills. Mondays are $0.50 Boneless Wings and Wednesdays are $0.60 Traditional Wings. They are well worth checking out.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse – Menu with Prices – 4905 Monroe St, Toledo

Stopped in recently for dinner. Were told the wait would be about 30 minutes, but only ended up being about 10. Rather than a pager, they have u input your phone number & text you when a table is ready. We got a booth which was larger (probably meant for 6), pretty comfortable & lots of extra room for just us 2. It took us a few minutes to decide what to get because the menu is pretty large with a little bit of everything; even has page numbers. We ended up getting both the potato skins and queso appetizer, fish & chips, & grilled salmon. The skins were awesome & a large portion; not too thick or too thin with a good amount of cheese, bacon & green onions. The queso was just ok, tasted like the jarred stuff…Our entrees came out shortly after our appetizer–a little too soon honestly, but both apps & entrees were hot so the timing was on the kitchen not the waitress. My fish & chips was good but the fish was a smaller portion than I’m used to. (Still had some to take home though so please don’t get the wrong idea–wasn’t a tiny portion) The batter was crispy & well seasoned, the fish was light & flaky and the tartar sauce was both delicious and obviously made in house unlike some other places. It came with lots of perfectly seasoned fries/chips. Kiddo got the grilled salmon (no surprise). She said it was great & finished it completely. It came with lots of broccoli & rice pilaf–which she didn’t eat any of… We were too full to try the famous “pizookie” so guess that’ll have to wait til next time. Nice to have a new option for lunch/dinner in the area! One last note: while I got a bunch of fried/not so healthy stuff there was a good amount of “enlightened” options like turkey burgers or grilled chicken with zucchini noodles, soba noodles, or quinoa.

Ben & Jerry’s catering Menu with Prices 2705 S Oakland St, Arlington

Wow! Automotive Express is honest, friendly, and doesn’t overcharge. The manager, Rafael, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He always listens carefully to you and treats you with respect. He spends a lot time with you, inspects everything and is truly concerned with your satisfaction. When I went to get a tire, he didn’t try to sell me the most expensive ones. He gave me a lot of options and actually recommended the economy tire for my needs. I don’t think that has ever happened to me when working with a mechanic. He really looks out for you and takes care of you. An example of his level of service: I had my tires mounted and paid for all the work. I was backing out of his business and he noticed three of my lights were out. He stopped me, dropped everything, got three bulbs, and immediately replaced them. NO CHARGE! He didn’t have to do that, but he did it anyway. I would have never known he had seen the lights were out. Or, he could have just told me and sent me on my way. Or, he could have charged me for labor and the bulbs. I was shaking my head all the way home. I just couldn’t believe how amazing he was to me and how impressed I was with his staff of workers. They are so fast, friendly, and do quality work. If you need tires, rims, or really any car work, you could crazy not to go to Automotive Express. It was easily the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic/shop. They won me over and I’ll keep coming back.

Onion Creek Club Menu with Prices 2510 Onion Creek Pkwy, Austin

Every year the organization I am involved with through my job hosts a charity golf tournament. I have been involved with it for the past 4 years and every year the tournament is hosted a different golf course. Onion Creek is a private club. You can only play here is you are a member, know a member or playing in a tournament. It is a beautiful property and area of the city. The staff that we worked with were all super nice and helpful as well. All the feedback I got from everyone was that they loved playing here because of the elite status of the course and they normally don’t get to play it. It is a beautiful course and plays well. One thing that I heard from some of the golfers was that it was hard to figure out which hole was which when getting started because the holes aren’t numbered. One other thing that could have been better in my opinion was the food. It was ok. We had burgers and chips. – nothing fancy. If you are looking for a course to play this is definitely a place to consider if you live in the area or know a member.

Capt. Don’s Seafood – Menu with Prices – 1412 Savannah Hwy, Charleston

LIVE BLUE CRABS! Not super easy to find in the Charleston area, since shrimp is more the mainstay here, but the captain of a fishing boat we chartered recommended we try Capt Don’s. Glad we listened- it’s a really great seafood market off Savannah Hwy. Super fresh seafood and lots of choice and the prices are so much more reasonable than those markets on Shem Creek. They have a fish guy there ready to scale and fillet whatever you want. We were looking for live blue crabs to take back to the rental to steam and d a little crab feast, and they had em! They weren’t huge, but were pretty heavy and very meaty! I think we paid $26/dozen which was very reasonable. Also bought a couple of dozen cherry stone clams which were also super fresh and briny. They also had redfish, black drum, grouper, flounder, swordfish, perch, and many others.
