Came here after hearing it was decent from my roommate. This was close to school and thought it would be a great snack. The place was clean and there are many protein options far more than veggie options. There was an array of shrimp scallops and calamari options for seafood and chicken, sausage, and steak. I chose steak and scallops for my protein options with cabbage and carrots double of each option. The bowl was 15.00 dollars for a large. It seemed pretty pricey for the size and the fact it was take out but I had already committed. The food was pretty good. It was grilled and pretty healthy. The only cons were that if you are allergic to shellfish I would steer clear they don’t exactly keep things separate from each other when they cook and that could definitely cause issues. The food was also a bit pricey. Bottom line would I return? If someone bought it for me sure but pay for it no it cost more than a sit down restaurant on average for less than memorable service.

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3401 Dale Rd, Modesto

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. This restaurant offers “gluten free” items but contaminate your food at every possible chance. I came in since it says they have GLUTEN FREE options. They have signs like normal restaurants stating there is a chance for cross contamination. Which is normal. But they used the same gloves, same pizza trays, and cooked it on a flour DRENCHED stone oven. When I asked about it they laughed as if it was a joke, did not offer my $20 back and I sat starving as the rest of my group ate while I watched. If you are going to offer gluten free, maybe actually offer gluten free. Advertising saying “gluten free crust” but drenching it in gluten doesn’t do any good. 7/6/2019 @6:20pm. And I won’t be coming back. UPDATE: the owner Nick has replied and yes we did get a refund and an apology which I appreciated. My main concern for others is that an allergy is an allergy. Once that gluten free pizza touches the stone with flour on it, it is no longer gluten free. I understand many people don’t know that, but that is why people like me end up extremely sick. Maybe put a note on the door that instead of saying “possibility of cross contamination” it should say “our gluten free products are no longer gluten free once cooked in our stone oven” It is just for safety. I understand you try your best, but “your best” can get someone hospitalized. Just as if someone was allergic to shellfish and you cook their steak on a grill that just had shellfish on it…..well now they will be in the hospital. you are trying your best, but your best isn’t even close for someone with an allergy. So in other words, if you have an allergy, don’t eat here, if you are using gluten free as a diet or to lose weight, go for it.

Tanko Japan – Menu with Prices – 2617 Moses Grandy Trail, Chesapeake

If I could give this place zero stars I would! My husband and I frequent this place and never really had complaints about the food. Today my husband ordered shrimp and scallops and was rung up for steak, shrimp, and scallops. He is allergic to red meat and hasnâ??t eaten it in years. He didnâ??t catch the mistake until later, when he got home the first bite he took was covered in rice and sauce and it was steak. He got sick and I called the restaurant and I got yelled at over the phone. The lady I was speaking to also suggested I pick out the steak and laughed as she said it. I decided to go to the restaurant and when I went in and explained what had happened they said there was nothing they could do. I asked them to remake the food without the steak and they said no. I then I asked for a refund and they said they couldnâ??t do that either. The lady that I assume was in charge said if my husband hadnâ??t taken a bite and brought it back, they could make him new food because they could use his. THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE PEOPLE FOOD THEY HAD GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. They treated me very poorly and having worked in the restaurant business if you make a mistake you do your best to fix it or at least make it better. I will never go there again and I suggest no one else does either.

Ninja grill poke & hibachi – Menu with Prices – 9 E Lane Ave, Columbus

Wow. This place is great and just what campus needs. Fairly similar to bibibop but grilled hibachi. As I walked in I was greeted by their friendly staff who gave me the run down. They offer many appetizers and fried rice options but the stars of the show are their build your own hibachi or poke meals. They hand you a slip where you make your own bowl. Pick your appetizers and extras then decide how you want your hibachi or poke. I went with a steak hibachi. I checked off steak, rice as my base, then you get 5 veggies. I chose green beans, cabbage, corn, bean sprout, and carrots. Then you get to pick a sauce for them to mix in, I went with teriyaki. Lastly you get dipping sauce on the side, I went with the sweet n spicy….all I can say is wow. They cook everything to order . It was hot n fresh off the grill. My veggies were perfectly cooked. I dont care for them to be under cooked or raw and they were not. These were outstanding. So good I might even be able to just get a steamed veggie bowl here. The sauce was good too. I dont like my teriyaki too salty or too sweet, ninja grill has the perfect balance. And that sweet n spicy…oh yeah I need a bottle of that because is was the bomb….seriously. Campus has been lacking this type of fast n casual cuisine. I promise you wont be disappointed here. Be adventurous, they have a lot of options and it’s super reasonable. My steak hibachi was a huge portion for only $8.95. Definitely reccomend going to try this place out.

Valley Meal Prep – Menu with Prices – 0560, 222 McHenry Ave, Modesto

It’s been quite awhile since I have been eating healthy and have been paying the price with weight gain and feeling crappy. The owner of VMP, Matt Martin, posted some new menu items on Facebook recently and that inspired me to get back in the groove again. So off to VMP I went. I went in on a Monday afternoon and it was hoppin’. It was so busy, that the choices weren’t as plentiful as they usually are, but that’s ok, everything made here is healthy and tastes great. I had no problem finding a nice variety. Despite creating a new menu, VMP still had my favs, such as the Asada bowl and the Blueberry Protein pancakes. I made my choices for my lunches for the work week, and found out that VMP still has the deal where if you order 4 meals, you get the 5th for free. 5 meals came to $38 even. That’s $7.60 a meal. That includes Nutrition facts for each meal ( calories, fat, carbs and protein info), no shopping for groceries, no cooking, no dishes, no kitchen clean up and a very nice variety of healthy meals. The containers are even reusable if you wash them by hand. I use them when I do my own meal prepping or when I want to send friends home with leftovers. Honestly, for healthy, economical meals like this, it doesn’t make sense to cook yourself. If you’re on the fence about getting healthy because it’s too much of an effort to cook or keep track of nutritional info, VMP is your answer.

Sunny Hibachi – Menu with Prices – 3840 Dewey Ave, Rochester

First off Sunny Hibachi had the nicest and friendliest staff to meet, greet and take our order. Easy location with plenty of parking. Small restaurant with a few small tables, if you wish to stay there and eat. Now let’s get to the food. Prices are VERY reasonable, but with that unfortunately came the old saying “You get what you paid for…” After reading all the great reviews on Yelp my friend and I thought we’d give Sunny’s a try. We ordered a tons of food, because one, we were starving when we got there and secondly, the prices were really great. Off of the appetizer menu we ordered the Fried Scallops (10) for $3.65 and the Gyoza (6, pork fried dumplings) for $3.50. The scallops were delicious! I thought they would be small given that you get 10 for just $3.65 but that wasn’t the case at all, they were big, fresh, lightly breaded and tender. The Gyoza’s were good but not the best we’ve ever had, and my friend was a little disappointed they didn’t have any hot oil sauce to dip them in. For our lunches we both ordered off the Hibachi menu and shared a little of both with each other. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp ($9.69) and my friend ordered the Chicken ($6.79). I also had the Clear soup ($0.75)- I wouldn’t suggest getting the Clear soup, it was tasteless and just seemed off. When it comes to our hibachi meals- the rice was really flavorful and good. The vegetables were mainly broccoli was a few small pieces of zucchini. Both the chicken and steak were pretty dry and over cooked. Seemed like they may have been made the day before and reheated, which was pretty disappointing, but the portions were very giving. The shrimp was cold and seemed a little undercooked, which was surprising with the chicken and steak being so over cooked. Over all it was nice to try a new place with a great concept of takeout hibachi but I’m not sure I would go back again- maybe for the scallops.

Schooner’s Seafood House – Menu with Prices – 3560 N Ponce De Leon Blvd, St. Augustine

Well, I usually don’t give a 5 star rating, but this place desires it. First time visit for my wife and I. We just decided to go out of town and find someplace to eat. About a mile North and on the right, we noticed quite a bit of cars at 6:30 PM. Walked in, seated right away, ordered Steak and Scallops. First, I must say was the best Cole slaw I have ever eaten. At 64 years old I’ve had plenty.. Steak was as I ordered (Medium Rare)(Blackened) Scallops was not large but not small, plentiful about 8 of them. Menu stated 8 oz., steak But looked more like 10-12 oz. Salad was crispy and plentiful also. My wife had the Fish and chips, Great big portion. Couldn’t fit the desert, but sure will stop and even go out of our way to eat there again. Service was top notch, team work, food on time. Not an elegant place for a first date, but what a meal. Now we know why the parking lot was full of cars.. You must try it…

Seva Ann Arbor Menu with Prices Westgate Shopping Center 2541 Jackson Avenue, Ann Arbor

It’s been a few years so I thought I’d update this baby. Luckily, I still really enjoy the whole Seva experience! From the delicious apps (gouda tots! General Tso cauliflower!) to the amazing entrees. I’ve been on a healthy eating kick lately so at our last meal here I went for the chickpea-spinach salad with grilled haloumi. The salad with a fresh mix of spinach, garbanzo-lemon salsa, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes and sunflower seeds, with a roasted red pepper dressing. The grilled haloumi was a nice salty topping and alternative to faux meats that you usually find as an added protein. I can never say no to cheese! My husband got the tempeh reuben and as a general rule I’m not a huge fan of reubens, vegetarian or otherwise (I’m a bad Polish gal who doesn’t much care for sauerkraut), but I took a bite of this one and it was quite tasty. And the yam fries? So good. I kept stealing them off my husband’s plate. I also love their mocktails. I’m not dry but I’ve been finding lately that I’ve been preferring to stay away from the sauce and their non-alcoholic options are really lovely. Most recently I had the Golden Light which is carrot and orange juices mixed with coconut milk & turmeric. Not too sweet but refreshing! If you do want something a little stronger there are nice cocktails, wine options, and beers both bottled and on draft. Easy parking since it’s in the Westgate shopping center. Don’t let its strip mall status fool you. This is a tasty, healthy option for dining on the west side of the city!

Little Dutch Garden Menu with Prices 1910 S Owyhee St, Boise

Words can’t describe how cool that place is but I will try. Drinks are affordable. Faces are friendly. The backyard (not sure what to call it) is like a playground for adults who drink and like to be social. Bring a steak to cook on the grill, yes, in the backyard, a steak, a grill!! One day I was offered some steak by a group of people that had just grilled. It was weird to be offered a slice of steak in the bar, I said yes of course. You can chill by the fire pit or throw horseshoes even when it is a cooler season. Went outside the other day (January) and the fire pit was roaring and the horseshoe pits were looking lonely. This is a stop if you like dive bars but definitely a stop if you llloooovvveeeee dive bars and they make you giddy.

Poke Sushi bowl – Menu with Prices – 1625 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg

Decent poke in a town with limited food options, Poke Sushi Bowl was a nice break from the usual. We stopped by for a late lunch to pick up something healthy and quick. They mix the salad base and protein and sauce together before putting it in the bowl so the sauce is evenly applied to all the components, very helpful. I was surprised to see that they offer grilled eel as a protein, not one I’ve seen anywhere else. I selected shrimp and was underwhelmed since it has a slight ‘fishy’ scent to it indicating that it was not very fresh. The tuna was quite fresh, so I assume the shrimp was an odd case here. Lots of topping can be added, and since it’s unlimited you can get multiple scoops of the edamame (like I did). The price was comparable to what I pay in Los Angeles, where food is more expensive in the whole, but I can understand paying a slight premium over Fredericksburg price for fresh fish. I could see myself dining here frequently if I lived in the area, probably popular among the college kids. And if you Check In on Yelp then you can get a free miso dip or mochi. I assume the green tea mochi was good, my partner did not let me have any of it.

SoFresh Lakewood Ranch – Menu with Prices – 11569 FL-70 #106, Bradenton

I was very excited to see a new food offering in this area with vegan options. Sadly, while I wanted this to blow me away, I probably won’t be back. Pros: items are made to order and fresh, tofu is offered as a protein, if there’s an issue the staff are eager to make it right and very willing to accommodate special requests. I also like that they use bowls and silverware that aren’t disposable to minimize waste. Cons: As soon as you walk in you’re hit with a strong grill, greasy, almost fast food smell. I assume this is from cooked to order proteins but little ventilation. If you’re vegan, beware as the proteins are all cooked on the same grill top. There is definitely cross contamination between vegan items and non vegan items. Price: we got a bowl with a quinoa/rice blend, a few veggies, and tofu that was simple seared even though the menu said it had some sort of marinade and flavoring. (It didn’t). This bowl cost $11.50. Frankly that’s steep for a fast casual type of restaurant. The bowls are priced without protein so you’re charged extra depending on the protein.

Bluff Street Bar & Billiards – Menu with Prices – 2690 28th St Ste E, Boulder

This place is improved since new owners took over a while back. It’s a good place to play pool, and the draft beer selection is good (suits me, at least!). However, I’ve been a little disappointed in the food options because I don’t eat meat. Previously, the menu offered a grilled cheese sandwich as well as a house salad. At least there were a couple options for a meal without meat. With the new menu, the only options for a vegetarian dinner are grilled romaine salad (it’s unique, but also rich, so you might not want to order it that often), or a side of fries or pickles (haha). I suppose I could order the smoky mac n cheese without the bacon or the chopped grilled chicken salad without the chicken. But then I’m paying for meat that I don’t eat. It seems like the menu has been made more gourmet with the transition to new ownership over the last year, which is a good thing. But I politely request that the owners and chef consider bringing back the regular house salad without meat and the grilled cheese sandwich, and perhaps adding a veggie version of the tacos, and a non-meat healthy appetizer like a hummus plate. Those are just some ideas. Believe me, I’m not the only person who wants non-meat options!

Bellini’s Bistro – Menu with Prices – 350 Pennsylvania St, Buffalo

This is the perfect (!!!!) place to go before a concert at Kleinhan’s Music Hall….. and not just because of the great location. The setting is lovely. The service is wonderful. And, the food was absolutely delicious. Being that the name of the place is “Bellini’s, I had to have a Bellini before dinner. The champagne and peach nectar were delightfully refreshing as we looked at the menu. For a starter we shared a Caesar Salad which was fresh and wonderful with just the right amount of flavorful dressing, crunchy croutons, and a liberal amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Fresh baked bread with delicious olive tapenade was brought to the table. While everything on the menu sounded delicious, the two of us decided to each order one of the evening’s specials. Since one was a steak dish and the other a scallops dish, we figured we could share half-and-half and end up with our own version of a “Surf and Turf” (how cute are we?!?). The steak (New York Strip) was cooked exactly medium, flavorful, and extremely tender. It was served with smashed skin-on red potatoes and grilled zucchini and red peppers. The scallops were cooked to wonderfully and placed atop perfectly toothsome risotto and accompanied by more of the delicious grilled veggies. Desserts are reportedly made in-house. We decided to share the tiramisu which was more like a layer cake than the traditional recipe. Still, it was flavorful and fresh with a wonderful creaminess and perfect coffee flavor. We will definitely be back (again and again)!!!!
