I really wanted to love EQ, but sadly I don’t think we’ll be going back. My kids seemed to enjoy playing, but as the parent it felt unwelcoming to me. The main reason being the solo staffer for the afternoon. First off, my nine year old was politely told that he wasn’t allowed to be in the single jumper trampoline or go down the slide. Ok, cool. After further investigating, the trampoline says no more than 100 pounds. My child isn’t even close to that. She reminded me more than once to make sure that my child was careful around the other children. First off, there were only two other children in the play place that we weren’t with, my child was friends or siblings with the rest. Second, I think I can parent my own child and wouldn’t have brought any of my kids if I didn’t believe they couldn’t behave or would be considered a threat to other kids. The entire time my kids played, the staffer was constantly cleaning up after them and asking if they were done or moving things back to its “proper” place. I understand that order and cleanliness are appreciated, but LET THEM PLAY. I was under the impression that this was in fact what this place was all about. Overall, my kids enjoyed playing and probably didn’t feel the same way as I did. I think we’ll stick with Playstreet or even The Coop for our future play places.

Café Au Plait – Menu with Prices – 10405 E McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd Suite 100, Scottsdale

Anyone who knows me knows I love supporting great local businesses and it PAINS me to write a bad review but I have to share my feelings. First off, this cafe is adorable. It’s clean. It’s pretty. But I came here because of the play place. I thought, hey this is great! I’ll grab coffee and let my kids play for a little bit before moving on to our next activity. Until I walked in and saw the prices. It’s $5 PER child to go inside a small play area. But if you buy a coffee and food, the play area has got to be free right?! Wrong! It’s still $5 per child even after you’ve spent $4-$6 on coffee, $6.25 on overnight oats and $2 per apple pouch that you buy at Costco for $9.99. Listen, I love the idea. I love the thought. But it’s ridiculous to charge parents this much per child for the 10-20 minutes the kids will actually play in the area because it’s small. A child who can entertain themselves will be over it fast and a child who’s younger won’t let Mommy get anything done if they are in eyesight. I’m super disappointed because I have been so excited to go here. As a Mom who has her own business and two kids 3 and under, I dream for a place like this. Wish for a place like this. But I’m not paying $10 plus food and drink for it. If they were supportive to Moms, they would do it as two options. Spend $10 on food and drink and your kids get in free OR charge for kids to play if you aren’t buying any food or drink. Not both! This isn’t a play place. This is a coffee shop. They have to decide which direction to take otherwise no one will go there.

Imagination Station – Menu with Prices – 1 Discovery Way, Toledo

I love imagination station! I had 5 kids ranging from 1.5-6, visited on Saturday when surprisingly they have 2 kids free with an adult and children under 2 free. Parking was just one block away which is actually fun to walk over to the riverside! I love giving the kids the idea weâ??re in the â??cityâ? which we are but we play up their imaginations it definitely make the trips more fun! Either way for under $30 we played in the little kids section which is amazing for our age group! Huge tree to climb, so much imaginative play areas from a ambulance and a hospital, a grocery store, fire truck, a huge water area over looking the river with wall to wall windows with a great view! For living in Toledo my whole life this gives me a big city adventure with a small price thatâ??s close to home! There is many things to do there but for small kids to be closed off in a great play area is enough for us! There is also a smaller baby sensory area where they can crawl around thatâ??s not with the bigger kids but parents with the older children can still watch the big kids while playing with the little ones! Hope this helps some moms visiting Toledo! Enjoy

Wild Child Coffee Project – Menu with Prices – 314 Richmond Rd, Ottawa

I think this is a great concept and was very excited to try it out. I went with my almost 4 year old and my 2 year old. The one staff member that was working was friendly and helpful, and I really liked that the kids admission came with a small snack. The coffee was fantastic and in theory I could have sat in the adult area and watched them play. The issue was that there are a few items in the play area that were quite age inappropriate for my children – such as wooden climbing things and several items where little toes and fingers could easily be pinched. So I didn’t feel comfortable unless I was standing over them helping. Towards 1030 am the place was absolutely packed with kids to the point it was difficult to ensure everyone was playing safely. My oldest was probably one of the oldest kids there and she could barely play on the wooden structures independently. At one point while it was extremely busy, someone let my toddler out of the play area by herself (the women opened the baby gate to come in and stepped aside to let out an unattended toddler). I realize this is not the fault of Wild Child but something to keep in mind for parents with small kids, especially when it is busy there.

Nolia Family Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1004 Morning Glory Ave, Durham

Nolia is a brand new coffee shop in downtown Durham with an interesting niche audience: parents. Their mission is right on the wall when you walk in: family + coffee. The space is an old, converted church and it is pretty small but they have done a great job making it feel bright and clean. The first premise of Nolia is that children are meant to be celebrated, not tolerated. I personally don’t have children, but I can definitely see why parents would want to take their children here. There is a small play area in the shop so that parents can relax or talk while their children have fun (there are also chickens in the backyard if your kids are into that). It can get noisy in Nolia so it would not be a place that I would recommend coming to study or get work done. I try and come early in the morning to get my coffee for that reason. Justin and Natalie (the owners of the shop and parents to Magnolia, who the shop is named after) make everyone feel like family in the shop, even if you don’t have kids. They go above and beyond to get to know their customers and make them feel welcome. Now, to the coffee! It’s delicious– and all direct-trade and ethically sourced. You even get to watch as Justin prepares it specially for you. They also have Jeddah’s tea as well as pastries from East Durham Bake Shop. There are a few other local goods for sale as well. They have just extended their hours (9-12 and 2-6) during the week which is great to have them open almost all day. Definitely check Nolia out whether you are a parent or not because this is a wonderful place serving the entire Durham community great coffee!

Mini Galaxy Play Cafe – Menu with Prices – 178-02 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica

This is a decent indoor location for kids to play that allows adults to relax in arms reach. I found out about this place on kids pass, and came here twice. My 2 year old has a great time here, it’s a bit of a tight space but there’s many things to keep her occupied and not get bored. I like the layout with the cafe area for adults to relax in and get something to eat while the kids play. They have a variety of food and drinks to suits everyone needs. I would highly recommend this place for kids 4 and under. Anything above , or kids taller should not be allowed here. The space is too tight and they should have a limit on how many kids attending Or a certain age group time slot. The place does offer time slots. But when my two year old is running around, a daycare group of 8 children from ages 4-7 came in and demolished the place. It wasn’t safe for my daughter at one point where I had her play in a area where it’s sectioned off from the gym. To finalize my last visit, my child jumped off one of the high chairs which is made by hard white plastic/glass, and its tall so it tipped over onto the tiled floor where a tiny chip appeared. The worker tried to make me pay for the WHOLE chair . I refused to pay but still cooperated with him to work something out. I stated there should be restrictions for small kids to NOT use these chairs or they shouldnt place high glass chairs on cement floors around kids. It was BOUND to happen. But I’m glad my daughter or no one else was hurt and that’s all that matters. I don’t know if I will return here or recommend this for children older then 4 year olds. But it is a good place for the area it is in.

Kids Play Cafe – Menu with Prices – 777 E Barstow Ave Suite E, Fresno

Visited here for the first time today. I am impressed! I am very thankful to have a place like this is Fresno. My toddler enjoyed 2 whole hours of non-stop fun! I have a membership at MyGym for an hour class once a week. I love it but I have to say I love this place more! I’m so glad they offer memberships. The best part is that you can come as many times as you’d like with this membership instead of just once a week. It’s very clean. It’s organized. The different areas for play provide hours of fun. They have soft play areas for the younger kids, areas for a little bit older kids and areas for a mix between young and older. There’s so much to do. My little guy played in the super market area most of the tome. He loved the trampoline and the little tykes cars. As he gets older he will love climbing the playground and going down the steeper slides in the ball pit area. I love how they had complimentary coffee and donuts today. I also love that they have a good amount of food and drink options if you’re hungry. We took a quick break and sat a table. They have high chairs and little tables with mini chairs for the little ones as well. My little guy enjoyed his little snack break and then went back to running around. The customer service was great! I can’t wait to take my little guy back. There’s tons of seating, Couches & upholstered benches, tables and chairs. It’s even comfortable to sit on the cushioned play floor while playing with your little one. DON’T FORGET TO BRING SOCKS. You have to take your shoes off. I believe they pair up with Noah’s Ark which is right across the street so I’m sure you can order some delicious Mediterranean food. I love the hours that they’re open. From what I noticed today there might be certain peak times where they get extremely busy. My advice would be to try to figure out the least busiest times and visit when it’s not so busy. It was more relaxing and enjoyable the less crowded it was. We visited first thing in the morning. Looking forward to our return.

Spare Time Chattanooga – Menu with Prices – 5518 Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga

This is a typical arcade nowadays where you load a card with money and swipe the card at the machine to play a game. (what happened to playing with quarters??) Most games are about 1.25 a play except for skee-ball which is 50 cents. The air hockey game played for about a minute, if that, and cut off. The second time we tried playing the puck kept getting stuck in the goal slot. And the game was still going on so we knew it wasn’t that it was over. One of the skee-ball machines wasn’t releasing the balls but it sure took your money from your card. We played Luigi’s haunted mansion and it completely shut off in the middle of the game. The staff member that was there restarted the machine and swiped her card so we can play again so that was nice. The basket ball game had two different scores on each side so that was weird. Couldn’t tell if I kicked my husband’s butt in that game or not lol. The prize room opened later and half the prizes didn’t have the ticket amount on them and the girl at the counter was too busy flirting with some guy to pay attention to anything going on. . There was also bowling but we didn’t play. Maybe that would have had less quirks.

Millie Moo’s – Menu with Prices – 4085 L B McLeod Rd, Orlando

In my opinion, this is the absolute best indoor playground in town. I have taken my three kids (1, 3 and 9) here many times now. *Side note that the nine year old comes along more to provide help than to play, as most of the place is suited for the smaller kids. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and eager to help. The place itself is one large room, so you are able to see your kids from almost anywhere you are standing. This is helpful when you have two kids, but want to allow one to play on their own. There is a tot area for the real little ones that is corralled off for safety from the bigger minions. There is also a cute little cafe with plenty of seating up front. The staff can make a pretty good coffee drink (real, not the instant crap), good, healthy food and other drinks and snacks. Inside, the kids have a large variety of toys to play with, including ride on cars (yes, they actually work unlike other places!), a ride on train, bounce house, kitchen, houses, LARGE train table, roller coaster and much more. My kids are always angry when I try to pry them out after a couple of hours of playing. The owners are good at rotating different toys in and out, so there always seems to be something new each time we come and visit. The couple of times I have had trouble with asshole kids, they have been quick to come to action to make sure the parents are actually paying attention to their children. If you are looking for a nice place to bring your kids on a rainy or hot day, do not hesitate to stop here. They also offer monthly access, which can include birthday parties as a bonus.

Education Station Cafe – Menu with Prices – Eugene

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Education Station. I have three children – 1 in college, 1 about to go to college and 1 in high school We started with infant care and stayed for summer and school vacation camp. Why am I writing a review now? Because when we became an Education Station family in 1998 – (yes 20 years ago!)- there were no reviews, no ratings, no on-line photos. Just a feeling that these people genuinely cared about our family. We had to enroll on instinct – but I am here to attest two decades later that those babies/toddlers/pre-school kids were more than prepared for elementary school and have turned into incredible adults – smart, curious, funny, and kind. Traits that were nurtured and encouraged by their caretakers at the Education Station. We are so grateful for all they taught us (special shout out to Donna for getting all 3 out of diapers, and drinking from a cup!) and creating a second home for them. While choosing child care is one if the hardest things a working parent can do – rest assured that the Education Station isn’t just interested in providing a safe place for you child but an environment where they will thrive and create wonderful childhood memories.

Main Event Katy – Menu with Prices – 24401 Katy Fwy, Katy

I will give them a zero star if I could. We had a birthday party yesterday and it was the worst party experiences that I ever had. We booked their Extreme Package with bowling and laser tag for 22 kids, and on the contract it clearly stated that $5 FunCard will be given to each kid. When I signed the contract I was told for kids that are less than 48 inch tall who cannot play laser tag will be given a $10 FunCard, I asked them to add it on the contract but was told that every party coordinator know that rule. On the day of the party, we then told that instead of $5 Fun Cards, kids will be given amount of time for the arcade, and since everyone will be staying together kids that are not going to laser tag will not be given $10 Fun Card. I feel not comfortable as I was not given what was stated on the contract. What made me very angry was, there are 6 younger siblings that was also at the party, they were too young to play bowling or laser tag. I told the party coordinator that there will be 22 kids for the extreme package, I will be purchasing 2 $5 Fun card for the 2 younger siblings and we will purchase drinks for all 6. The party coordinator ask for the name for all 28 kids, I told them the 6 younger sibling will only be eating but not doing any of the activities and they said they still need the name. At the end, all 28 kids were charged for the EXTREME Package, and of course the $10 game card too. I don’t understand, 6 kids didn’t played bowling nor laser tag nor getting arcade card but they got charged for the whole package. For just drink and pizza? That must be a very expensive pizza! Not to mentioned I purchased additional two pizza and nachos for everyone. If they are charging the party package they should let me know ahead of time, so we can at least let them play bowling. We are only given 5 lanes for 22 kids to play bowling, if they are charging us for 28 kids then we should be getting more than 5 bowling lanes correct? And all 6 kids should be getting $10 FunCard for not playing laser tag correct? Nope, they are not given anything but pizza and drink. Our party coordinator are not taken a good care of us, the arcade card they gave us after the laser tag were not working, only some of the kids that stood out got a replacement cards, kids that were shy were walking around with a card not were not working and left the party disappointed. It was the worst party that I’ve ever hosted and I felt so bad for my guest. I will never host another party here ever again!

Georgetown Entertainment – Menu with Prices – 6770 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne

I can barely express how happy I was with my last visit here. The remodel looks great, but I’m really here because of the service. I work with special needs children and one of the worst parts of the job is having to decide between spending an hour or two worth of your income or making the child your with do everything by themselves. Both options suck royally. The manager recognized this right away as I talked to them and she not only let me bowl and play all the games for free with my buddy but she even gave me socks as I was wearing sandals. She helped make an autistic child’s day very special and made mine much less stressful. Bravo, please keep it up.

The Port House Social Bar & Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 139 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga

Arrived at the restaurant at 530pm on a Saturday night, restaurant was not to busy. Was seated near the bar. Ordered Calamari ass an app, 30 mins later server told us the kitchen didnt see the ticket but the app would be out in 2 mins and would be on the house and gave us 2 tequila shots which was great. However, the mistakes didnt stop there, my wife ordered the soppressata pizza which came out and was good however despite me stating I want the jerk chicken dinner and confirming with the server, i received an order of jerk chicken tacos. The server then took this back but did not come to update me. Jerk chicken dinner finally arrived 25 mins later. At neither time did anyone come an update us, I had to go ask for an update. Food was actually great when it arrived but service was the worst. On a side note…stage area near the bar seems to be turned into some kind of play area where children are allowed to run around and play with soccer balls and scream. Not sure if the restaurant was aware of this. Go to this restaurant if you want bad service and hear kids, such a let down as food was good.
