Wonderful staff and very welcoming decor. Felt very much like a living room except there was fruit, blenders and products on shelves. I ordered a tropical paradise and requested to add orange to it. The orange definitely did the trick but the smoothie was layered all sorts of funky. I mixed my smoothie around before I took a sip. The top was watery. The middle and bottom were just chunky and sometimes flavorless. Imagine blending up oatmeal. My main concern is with a name like EmNet Organics, why do you have fruits that were grown conventionally but with pesticides? Isn’t an organic fruit free from all chemicals and GMOs? When I went in there was only one person working behind the counter and one of her friends sitting on a barstool chatting away. That doesn’t look good for business either. I understand it can get boring when you have no business but at least be professional about it. Not sure about the longevity of this place but I rather see the donut place come back.

Paradise Smoothie Menu with Prices 15255 George Oneal Rd, Baton Rouge

Ok so I was very skeptical trying this place out because smoothie king is good & consistent. When I walked in a really friendly man greeted me and I had zero idea what I wanted (as you know sometimes when your pregnant you want everything) he simply asked me my 3 favorite fruits. Easy! Strawberries mango & blackberries. I was in shock when he got fresh fruit from a fridge. I’ve never seen smoothie king do that. He asked if I wanted milk in it & I said yes please! Then I asked if I could have some jellies in it. The smoothie was huge & so damn good. For no extra sugar or anything added I was in shock. Come to find out the polite man working was the owner. Seriously he was so sweet and complimentary I feel like he should be working in sales. I will never go to smoothie king again. This is my new to go to place for smoothies and it’s such a plus because it’s right next to my house. Here comes my morning smoothie from now on

Ethical Bean Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1315 Kootenay St, Vancouver

Is this cafe is hidden gem? I only see five reviews and none recently. Ethical Beans is literally hidden in an industrial area beside Bosa Foods. Thus, it has an industrial vibe but modern decor. It’s very minimalist with a couple of cozy chairs, bench, and a stand for the creams. I love the free self serve ice water at the entrance, great welcoming touch! They operate on 4 principals: 1. Fair-trade -they only sell Fair trade certified coffee, meaning the coffee producers are paid a guaranteed price based on their production cost and not on the volatile free market price. As a return, the coffee producers must follow Fair trade regulation and form a cooperative. These co-ops must meet and follow predetermined labour, environmental, and quality standards. That means no forced or child labour! Yeah, I’m a fan of no slave labour! I can drink my espresso without a guilty conscious. 2. Organic -Ethical Bean only serves certified organic and shade grown coffee. Organic obviously meaning no pesticides. What about this shade growing business? Does it mean farmers can harvest their crop in the shade without exposure to harmful UV rays? No, actually it means coffee grown in the shade grows slower, is more sustainable, and taste better then grown fully exposed to the sun. 3. Community minded -owners support many outreach programs and donate a lot to nonprofit organizations internationally and locally. The couple co-founders even adopted a daughter from Guatemala which shows their commitment. 4. Environmentally aware -besides environmentally good practises, they collect used coffee bags from customers. Next time, instead of chucking your used coffee bag in the trash, save it and give it to Ethical Beans either in person or via mail. They even accept competitors’ bags too. They are actually just storing it in their facilities until a solution is found on how to recycle it. As for the coffee, top quality. I usually drink their espresso or Americano as I’m a purist when it comes to coffee. The espresso is very smooth in consistency with no bitterness. They only sell whole coffee beans as they encourage grinding the coffee fresh to get the best flavour. You can also use their iPhone app, it scans the emark on the coffee bag and provides a cool history of that particular blend from where it was grown and who picked the beans to you hands. I’m guessing the bag I bought today was not from Juan Valdez himself. They also served up some great organic doughnuts with all the ingredients from certified organic producers. That’s right, the eggs, milk, flour, salt, baking powder; all organic. Mix that up with creative ingredients like lavender and pumpkin, and you get some good tasting guilt free doughnuts. For being so ethically minded, you definitely deserve a 4.5 star!

Planet Smoothie – Menu with Prices – 2270 Town Center Ave, Melbourne

I recently went to Planet Smoothie for a smoothie. Let me preface this review by saying that I am a smoothie aficionado. My primary breakfast every morning is a smoothie & customize my smoothies daily using a different variety of fruit along w/ additions such as turmeric, ginger root, etc. First & foremost the service at Planet Smoothie was solid. I opted for the Acai Original made w/ açaí, apple, strawberries, & bananas. I got the small 22 ounce size. I got the following add-ins for smoothie: Whole Grain Oats, Peanut Butter, & Leafy Greens I felt the add-ins would give the smoothie more sustenance along w/ some nutrients from the greens. The smoothie was A-OK yet three stars are given instead of four for several reasons. I felt the smoothie was costly for what you get. The add-ins were $1 each & the quantity of the add-ins isn’t even that great. Oats are one of the most affordable foods on the market & a small scoop of oats shouldn’t cost $1. I felt .50 cents per add-in would be more reasonable. The biggest annoyance of my smoothie was they are made w/ ice. I requested no ice & the person making my smoothie said that wasn’t possible. She made it w/ less ice even so felt the ice added a lot of filler. For the cost of the smoothie which was in fact costly felt they should be more substantial using more fruit, less ice, & less costly add-ins. If these improvements were made can see bumping my review up to four stars yet not sure if these suggestions would be implemented. On a plus side appreciate being able to customize your smoothie & it is helpful to list the calories for the smoothies along w/ the calories for each additional potential add-in for which there is a lot. Smoothies are in fact a great way to eat more fruit & can be healthy. I think Planet Smoothie would still be a better option than say Cold Stone Creamery next door. Eat more fruit!

One Stop Nutrition – Menu with Prices – 6171 N Decatur Blvd Ste. 130, Las Vegas

Simply the best! So,from the name you may not think this is a option for a fresh smoothie or juice, but that is so wrong. When ever I first walk in to this place,I am ALWAYS greeted with a warm smile and a “hello, welcome, how is your day going”. The walls are lines w all new age, cutting edge and old trusted favorite supplements vitamins, diet supplements, pre and post work out sups, and even herbal sleep remedies! There’s so many different kinds,if you have ANY questions, don’t hesitate to ask as the staff is super educated on how each one works. If your understanding sure if something is right for you they offer samples as well. As you walk towards the back, also near the cash register you will start to notice the smell of fresh fruits and veggies…this my friends, means you just entered the pearly Gates of juice bar smoothie heaven. On the other side of the counters a glass guard over it is the days FRESH cut fruits and veggies. It’s like screaming “eat me” “make me a juice” w all the bright vibrant colors, and delightful smells. Something super important important to me at a juice bar is the lack of fruit flies. Nothing is more off putting to me then little evil gnat like fruit flies infesting and ruining my desire for a fresh smoothie or juice. I have NEVER EVER SEEN NOT ONE OF THEE TINY SUCKERS AT ONE STOP NUTRITION!!!!! KUDOS TO THEM. They have several pre thought juice and smoothie options which you can customize till your heart is content,or you can build your own juice or smoothie…the sky is the limit. This place puts big chain places like Jamba and tropical to shame. One stop has a life long customer in me!

Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market – Menu with Prices – 2200 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance

This farmers market is huge~~~ Many vendors for organic/fresh fruits, veggies, cheese, and many more. They also have couple of food stands, so you can come here to grab a meal as well. Def recommend here coming early, especially on Saturday, parking can be tricky to find unless someone pulls out while you are in the parking lot. There is also a church parking lot if the farmers market parking lot is full. Although product is quite expensive here, sampling is free~ My mom and I were stuffed at the end. It took us around 2 hours to get through the market. They have good selection of cheese, fruits, and nut butter/jams. I bought caramel pecan granola, blood orange jam, and some dried fruits, total cost of $22, quite pricy but they were all super tasty, you can tell the quality of the ingredients. I also tried the caramel cream malsada donuts from a food stand, it’s $1.25 and perfect for a small snack. The filling to dough ratio was perfect. Sweetness level was perfect as well. Would def visit here every weekend if I lived in the area.

JOE & THE JUICE – Menu with Prices – 2000 Collins Ave, Miami Beach

Was in Sobe visiting for my sisters wedding and this place was the only thing close to my hotel where i could eat in the AM. Being a mostly raw vegan there isnt much in this area. I came here 3 times. The menu here is boring the smoothies all have milk in them and the juice smoothie combos are not even appetizing. They dont have oranges or orange juice???? In Florida ok…..The inside was dirty, crumbs liquid all on the tables floor banquets at 8am??? We couldn’t even sit, the employees were rude or just seemed like they did not want to be there. Surprisingly it was busy in there. I ordered a juice the first day asked them to customize something they wouldn’t do it. Ok? I ended up with a cucumber apple it was 9.00 and blended with ice so it tastes like water plus the cup isnt even filled to the top because of the foam. The next two days i had the banana raspberry smoothie subbed out almond milk for regular milk -it was watery thin and had so many raspberry seeds and ice chunks i couldn’t even drink it through the straw. And every single thing i got from here tasted like ginger, i like ginger but what if you didnt. I guess they don’t clean the blenders or juicer well. My bf got the acai bowl the first day and they put bruised borderline rotten bananas on top he said it wasn’t good. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Cafe Red Point – Menu with Prices – 2727 N Cascade Ave #175, Colorado Springs

Great quality foods. Their mean green machine smoothie is simply amazing! ð??? Their menu is health conscious, gluten free and paleo friendly with local and organic ingredients. It’s fresh! This is my new favorite place in the Springs to grab a smoothie or a quick and healthy breakfast or lunch. I will definitely revisit. I 100% recommend giving this place a try. They’re also very reasonably priced. With the quality, the nutritional value, the fresh organic ingredients and supporting local and it’s affordable this place is simply phenomenal I wish I could give it to the first!

South Block Menu with Prices 106 N Lee St, Alexandria

I am new to the area and parking is a pain. But I believe there was also an event going on so maybe that’s why. I parked in a paid parking lot and walked over to South Block. Its pretty big inside with lots of tables. Great for large parties if they wanted to visit. They have a nice full menu going on with acai bowls, smoothies, coffee, toast, and toasted baguette. You guys don’t know this but I have an extreme sweet tooth and I LOVE SMOOTHIES/ACAI BOWLS. If there was good ones around where I live, I’d be in big trouble. If South Block came near me, I’d be in big trouble. You stand in line and order at the register. Then you walk to the side and wait for them to call your name/order out. I ordered their Strawberry Passion smoothie and a PBJ Acai Bowl. Both came out pretty fast. I had to get the PBJ Bowl .. cause I love peanut butter … and this met my expectations! The last time I had a good PBJ Acai Bowl is in ATL … this bowl had organic acai, banana, blueberry, almond milk, topped with granola, blueberries, bananas and I added strawberries. It’s a decent sized bowl for ONE person, I’d recommend sharing! All the fruit taste fresh and good ~ it wasn’t too sweet. The Strawberry Passion was also not TOO sweet and it didn’t feel like I was gulping up sugar (like other places ..) – this smoothie was super refreshing (especially on a hot day). Passion Fruit Smoothie: Passion fruit juice, strawberries, bananas, non-fat raspberry sorbet. Both so very good! I am impressed with South Block! My new favorite smoothie/Acai place! I definitely want to try their other flavors!

Haile Farmers Market – Menu with Prices – 5213 Southwest 91 Terrace, Gainesville

Definitely check out Ed W.’s 5-Star review. His review is great and pretty much sums it up: A local market that offers something for everyone from local vendors, organic farmers and innovative artists and businesses. It’s a great way to spend your Saturday morning and pick up unique items to eat, cook, enjoy and take home. We picked up some fresh, living, green wheatgrass to take home for only $2 per unit and it’s hard to find in Jax. Located in the quaint “downtown” of Haile Plantation with plenty of street parking for visitors, they have signs to get you there. It closes at 12pm so make sure you try to come as early as possible because the early bird gets the worm. They are open 8:30am to 12pm every Saturday. Some of the highlights for me: Visiting The Tempeh Shop’s booth since I have a freezer full of this stuff. They offer samples of their Ready Tempeh [prepared tempeh] and the guy working the booth gave me good advice on how to prepare it at home. It’s suppose to be really good for you as it is a fermented soybean product locally made and distributed. The variety of certified organic produce available at this market is a dream for those looking for local organic veggies and fruit that aren’t tainted with pesticides and other poisons. The presentation is beautiful, but you will need to get there early because they do run out of the more popular produce in season. I missed out on the organic beets. Bummer. Here are some of the vendors available here: Strega Nona’s Oven Wood Fired Pizzas, Price Creek Farm, The Tempeh Shop, Rosie’s Organic Farm, Fehrenbacher’s Artisan Sausages, Possum Hollow Farm, Archer Market Garden, & The Green Mango…just to name a few. Check ’em out.

South Block Menu with Prices 3051 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria

I like South Block and have been to the Alexandria and Arlington locations. I appreciate the wide variety of ingredients available-more than I can keep stocked and fresh in my own smoothie pantry. Goji berries-check, hemp hearts-check, shaved coconut-check, maca-check, plant protein-check! It’s great to be able to select a coconut water base as well as to choose between almond and peanut butter. Their bottled drinks, some juices, some “mylks”, are really delicious and interesting. The “mylks” are made from nut milk as a base with cinnamon to enhance flavor. Nice anti-inflammatory twist! Others sport bright produce colors like pitaya pink and kale green that just looking at them seem to enhance fresh, unprocessed flavors. The staff is mostly friendly, although often tepidly so. Where I drop a couple of stars off come from two things. First, I so wish the produce was organic. Strawberries, for example, are basically a pesticide sponge. Consuming non-organic strawberries is not conducive to healthy living. And even if you don’t get them in your order, that blender they just rinsed out from the order before yours probably still has hormone-altering chemical residue in it. When I asked if they used organic ingredients, I was told that they try to, but that they can’t always get them. I wish they’d work a little harder on that. Second, during one visit my green smoothie was sandy. GROSS! Spinach definitely has to be washed a lot before getting dropped into the blender. I’d be inclined to give them a mulligan on that one, but the staff was incredulous as though I was making it up. I had to explain, yes, this smoothie has a granular crunch akin to accidental sand ingestion at the beach. They did allow me to order a different one (steered clear of the spinach that time) which was delicious and offered at no charge. I hope to be able to revisit this review and add some stars in the next few months! South Block is a promising business concept and it’s so great to see Northern Virginia dining options creep closer and closer to healthy options! Review update-December 2018- I stopped going here 2 years ago, but recently stopped by. Welp, Amir still can’t seem to figure out how to use solely organic produce and butters, for some lame reason, so to all who think this place is healthy for you, I’m sorry to say, you’re being poisoned with pesticides here. This is the epitome of lazy business management. Yep, South Block is snowing people by making them think that South Block products are good for them. In a yoga studio to boot? Pretty audacious. It wouldn’t be hard for them to do better, but then they’d have to trim their profit margins. Do you really want to patronize a business that willfully harms their customers while pretending otherwise? Two stars dropped for not getting your sh together whilst misleading gullible customers, Amir.

Big Island Bowls – Menu with Prices – 5402 NW 8th Ave, Gainesville

I have been to big Island Bowls 4 times now and I have a few observations. The first. The food and smoothies are really terrific and I have not comsume anything that has not been excellent. I usually ask the person helping me what they recommend and I have not been steered wrong yet. The second. In the four times I’ve been here I have not been helped by the same person twice. Oddly enough it has been the same day of the week and not the same two people. One thing that worries me is turn over. I have not been steered wrong yet, but when talking with the folks behind the counter they don’t seem super happy. I hope this is not the case. I like the food a lot but if the owners are not taking care of them I can’t support the business. The third. I had heard of something called ‘Jack Fruit’ (not to be confused with Jack Wagon), but had never tasted it… On my first visit to Big Island Bowls the young lady helping me recommended it as being incredible. To be honest I was kinda afraid to try it based on the description, but she told me it was terrific so, I forged ahead and gave it a shot. Ok, let me say this – I am not a vegetarian and I love meat, but this was every bit as good as meat. In fact, I saved half of the bowl to allow 4 other confirmed carnivores I know to try it. Now all 4 have called me from big island bowls to tell me they are eating Jack fruit from there again, but I better never tell anyone (since I didn’t mention their names I think I have fulfilled my promise). The forth. I have now told seven people how much I like big island bowls and all seven have tried it and agree it really is terrific. The other day I was there for a business meeting. Yes I chose the location… I arrived early and asked for something small and simple. Yet another different person behind the counter recommended a smoothie. I chose coconut, but they recommended a passion fruit smoothie (I don’t like passion fruit – at all!) I told her I don’t like passion fruit!!! She said, I still recommend it. So, I tried it trusting her. I was not disappointed, it was also terrific. I don’t know what was different, but i devoured the whole thing. So I will stop second guessing the food and smoothies and just order what’s recommended. I would give this 5 out of 5 stars, but the place has a weird feel. It is either build on a Native American burial ground, or the owners are not creating a great environment. I’m not sure what it is, just feels weird to me. Each time I’ve been in there something is off. The two people working are always nice and friendly, but they don’t seem happy. So, 4 out of five stars it is. Of note: if it happens to have been build on a Native American burial mound…. close shop and return it to nature ?

Sea Of Sweet – Menu with Prices – 9950 Foothill Blvd Suit E, Rancho Cucamonga

ASHTA! I honestly have no idea what it is, but I do know that I love it :). Their fruit cocktails are a must have if you’re in the area or want a sweet refreshing treat and summer is approaching so do yourself a favor and bookmark this spot! Ive been so many times and I’m never disappointed. I’ve had their Rio de Janeiro (my fave), Exotica, Acapulco, Mango Tango, and Hawaiian, all fruit cocktails and I love them; they typically have fresh cut fruits, juices, smoothie, and topping layers and most importantly a slab of ASHTA right on top! That stufff is sooo addicting, they also sprinkle some pistachio on top, yum! I have not had any of their cookies or deserts but the display always looks like it’s packed with good stuff! I’ve made a mental note to be adventurous to try the rose water juice and Mediterranean coffee once the weather gets a little warmer again! Seems like a family owned business. ***The drinks are hand crafted so if you’re in a pinch consider calling your order in ahead of time ?
