I regret not trying this place sooner because it’s close to my house and I usually have to drive far to get decent food. Went there for the first time and had a pork gyro & chicken souvlaki plate. The plate was $13.50 and came with rice pilaf, a greek salad, pita bread & 2 chicken kabobs. Pita was grilled and absolutely delicious. Kabobs were smaller than most places but tasted good. Greek salad & dressing were good and I was impressed at the freshness because most places I go to give me wilted lettuce or dried up cukes/onions. The rice pilaf was the only thing I was not a fan of. It tasted like the Middle East one they sell at grocery store..under seasoned. The gyro I thought was really good..overflowed with pork (a little greasy but good) tomatoes, onions, tzatziki & fries (normally I hate fries in my gyro but these were good.) Overall, I liked the food and will be returning..probably to try a chicken souvlaki gyro. The prices are high in my opinion especially for the dinner plate. I considered trying a baklava but it was $3.75+ tax for a very small piece. Their menu is small but has most Greek staples. Service here was not particularly welcoming..it was obvious it was our first time there but the lady was short with us and only took our order. We were the only 2 people in there and not a word was spoken the whole 20 minutes which I find unusual for mom & pops places. Maybe next time..

Souvlaki Boys – Menu with Prices – 1 W James St, Lancaster

We ordered take out from here during our visit to Amish country!! I read the reviews on trip advisor prior to ordering & went with the Greek salad (added gyro meat to it & veggies). The salad was delicious!!! The rest of my family each had a platter (namely: gyro, chicken souvlaki & pork souvlaki): gyro was the winner and everyone raved about the side Greek salad!! My 3 year old loved the grilled cheese pita, it was not too salty and a good combo with the pita & melted cheese! The food was ready on time (within 25 min from ordering online) and my significant other claimed this was some of the best Greek food sheâ??s ever had!! We would likely be regular customers if we lived in the area, but meanwhile will make sure to stop by each time we visit!

Your Greek Cousin – Menu with Prices – 2060 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd, West Palm Beach

As a transplanted immigrant Greek once upon a time from Astoria, Queens, NY (the Greek capital of the Americas for those of you not lucky enough to be Greek) I know my Hellenic food. In my inaugural visit I enjoyed the lamb gyro (pronounced yee-ro) on toasted Greek pita and an assortment of veggies for the sandwich. For starters it came out exactly as I had ordered it complete with toasted pita. While this may not seem like a big deal I can’t tell you how many places both here and in the motherland got it wrong. . On a recent visit I had the pork souvlaki sandwich with a Greek salad. Both were amazing, The souvlaki was well seasoned and the salad couldn’t be any fresher. No Greek meal is complete without frappe (Nestle instant coffee blended with cold water, sugar–or not–and milk to taste, yummy!),the former unofficial Greek national coffee drink (nowadays its freddo espresso, yuk). I enjoy my frappe with one sugar and milk. Ioakim and Maria are Greeks from Cyprus by way of South Africa and what they are doing is educational; and, they are also providing a public health service by introducing Mediterranean staples to the folks residing within the Palm Beaches. I love my new home but really folks how many fast-food joints can you pack in one block? Come experience what the Mediterranean diet is all about, your body will thank you for it.

Phyllo Greek Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 1233 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

Phyllo has become our go-to Greek cuisine in HBG area. Located in the Broad Street Market, which is only 15 minutes from work, enables us to place take-out orders, and still enjoy a hot flavorful pita-wrapped Souvlaki for lunch. Phyllo offers platters, salads, and many Greek dishes, but our regular order consists of their pita-wrapped Souvlaki. Customers can choose their protein (chicken, pork, lamb) or vegetable, top it off with tomato and red onion and finish with the choice of sauce (tzatziki, tirokafteri, and others). The nice surprise with each pita is the addition of the Greek fries on-top. Service time depends on the size of the lunch crowd, but if you get their early it is not too bad. It is important to remember they are making each Souvlaki for each order and do not have meat sitting around. The freshness and flavors are what contributes to the overall quality of the food. Even when I’ve placed lengthy orders, that could have easily been messed up, they have always made everything correct in our order.

Nikos Cafe Menu with Prices 577 New Scotland Ave, Albany

High hopes followed by a real letdown. I love me some good gyros and I’ve been eating them all over and for years; they can be very unique at times, that’s for sure. Anyway, Anton’s take on the ubiquitous beef/lamb gyro just plain disappoints…unfortunately. For starters, the pita bread was just too tough/stale; literally tough to chew through. Pitas are supposed to be soft and supple. Nope, not this one. Second, it was skimpy on both fresh tomatoes and raw onions. I like a little fresh lettuce on my gyro on occasion so I was disappointed that this one didn’t have it too. Finally, the meat seemed old, like it had been on the spit for a very, very long time. That’s not good; that means they aren’t selling many and then the gyro meat itself starts getting tough and too crusty. Man, this gyro just didn’t work at all for me. Additionally, tried out a chicken souvlaki sandwich and it simply lacked any type of souvlaki flavor. Luckily, the meat wasn’t dried out and overcooked, but it was as if it had only been marinated for like 10 minutes. Sigh…the whole point of a souvlaki sammich is to get that awesome marinated tang, and dangit, this one just didn’t have any! And…of course, they used the same stale/tough pita bread for the sandwich. Sigh again. The total for the 2 sandwiches came to 18 samoleons and change…way too much for the quality received. Seek your good Greek love elsewhere fellow Yelpies, I know I will.

Kalita Grill Greek Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2426 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder

Honestly, the best Greek/gyros I’ve ever had. Reasonable prices, filling portions, and great quality. A friend recommended this place almost a year ago and we only recently (like within the last 2 months) tried it. After the first visit, we came back again just a few days later. Since then, we’ve eaten here almost weekly. I was motivated to finally write this review because my partner texted me that they were picking up Kalita Grill on the way home from the climbing gym… we literally just ate here Tuesday night (it’s Saturday). I don’t know how they do it, but everything we’ve had so far is heads-and-shoulders above any we’ve had in the past. The chicken souvlaki, gyro meat, falafel, babaghanoush, the greek salad (don’t get me started on this!), even the *regular* fries — all delicious. Spanakopita got high marks from my partner, who is a fiend for spanakopita + all things containing puff pastry. Even the rice, decidedly not the main attraction, on the gyro plate is better than any other rice I’ve ever had. It’s always perfectly cooked, never too al dente or too soft. It’s not that this place has like a groundbreaking twist on Greek — it’s just that everything tastes fresh, real, and made with high quality ingredients. Quality is so above the Boulder standard! Get the bougatsa to treat yourself to something awesome. Don’t make the mistake I did and miss out on months of delicious food — go now.

Athena Greek Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1601 W SW Loop 323, Tyler

Food is fine, if not good, but you certainly don’t go for the ambience/cheerful service. Food was fast, pricing was about $11 for the chicken souvlaki. This came with the best Greek salad to start. Tons of feta, yummy Greek dressing. Could have benefitted from more olives and red onion but this was my favorite part of the meal. Minutes later, my entree came out. Extremely lackluster. 2 well seasoned chicken skewers. They were so tender, I had to cut into them to make sure they weren’t pink in the middle. Alas they were not; but made me nervous. Served with 2 measly pita pieces that weren’t warm plus some white rice with salty brown gravy and a side of tzatziki. Wish there had been some veggies on the stark white plate with white food. And more pita!! I would get something else next time. The pitas looked good.

George’s Greek Grill – Menu with Prices – 622 Bloor St, Mississauga

Rating based on takeout! I was in the area and arrived shortly after they opened at 11am. Young man taking my order was sweet. He even offered us a sample of butternut squash soup that’s made in-house. It was delish – with ginger, curry-ish flavours, and did have a bit of a kick to it! We ordered Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ($15.50) and a simple hamburger ($6, can’t remember the name). We waited about 5-10mins, def less than 10mins. Chicken Souvlaki Dinner – Enough for 2ppl, even with some leftover salad. In comparison to Zet’s, there is a little more care in the food, especially in marinating of the meats/potatoes, seasoning of the rice, & salad dressing. Pieces of chicken souvlaki are smaller, but there were peppers/onions on the skewer, and marinate was much better. Potatoes here were cut smaller (as opposed to HUGE wedges at Zet’s), but tasted better here. Salad dressing did not come out of a bottle. Place was very casual, so it seems like more of a takeout. However, I’d go back again as everything is made-to-order and fresh!

The Simple Greek – Menu with Prices – 100 N Florida St Suite F-2, Mobile

I had the pleasure of visiting the Simple Greek for the first time with a group of Yelpers, and I can assure you, it is well worth the trip! Angela, the owner, and her mom Diane, will make you feel right at home. The staff is smiling and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about their cuisine. Try the Greek fries, which come topped with melted feta (even if you don’t like feta cheese, this is delicious!) Also, try the Avgolemono soup, which is a delicious blend of chicken, rice and lemon. (Hint- if you get sick and your friends ask if they can bring you anything, request this soup!) The Spanakopita is a savory delight of spinach and feta baked into a light and flaky crust. The Simple Greek is kind of cafeteria style, where you approach the counter, request your desired base (pita or bowl), request your protein (traditional gyro, chicken gyro, grilled steak or grilled chicken), choose your toppings (they all look fresh and delicious so you can’t go wrong), choose your sauce, then top with Greek finishes. I enjoyed the pita topped with grilled chicken, creamy garlic sauce, and the village salad, along with other fresh toppings. Be sure to finish your meal with the baklava, or the cheesecake baklava. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Souvlaki Greek Skewers – Menu with Prices – 577 W Alma Ave, San Jose

This has been my favorite go-to spot for quick Greek food, I just haven’t had a chance to write a review. I try to eat here at least once a month – it’s that good! I first came upon this place yelping last summer, and have not been disappointed. The overall rating on this place is on point. In all my experiences, I’ve always walked away completely satisfied. This place is always consistent!- Atmosphere:This place is a fast-casual eatery in a small-shopping plaza. You order at the counter and they will bring to the food out to your table. – Service:The people here are always nice and welcoming. I have come here at various times, from weekdays to weeknights, to right when they are about to close on the weekends – they are always friendly. – Food:The food is simply amazing! Everything I have ordered here has been delicious! Confession: I’ve only ordered two things: The Beef Souvlaki Pita & Lamb Souvlaki Pita. Every time I come here I try to convince myself to try something new, but the thought on missing out on one of those Souvlaki Pitas is too damn strong. I just might have to splurge and order two things to eat next time. Beef or Lamb Souvlaki Pita:The pita is perfectly toasted, making the outside crispy and the inside nice and fluffy. The meat is magnificent: the flavor is glorious, it has the right amount of caramelization, with it cooked perfectly on the inside. The red onions, tomatoes, and Tzatziki sauce all combine to deliver the freshness. The Tzatziki sauce alone is incredible! They even throw in a few fries for an added bonus.Fries:These are perfection. They are always super fresh and piping hot. I always tell myself I’m going to wait for them to cool down, but the temptation just leads me to scald my mouth temporarily. Once I quickly recover, I can fully enjoy them. Each fry is crunchy with a soft interior, in other words: superb! And they have the right amount of salt and Greek seasoning. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for Greek food, or tasty food in general. My only gripe is that they close too early, because I would otherwise have more opportunities to come here! Other than that, I love this place.

Babas Place – Menu with Prices – 3319 Bailey Ave, Buffalo

I’ve been going to Babas for years and I have always received great customer service and food. When you first walk in everyone speaks to you (unless they are super busy, which is understandable) but for the most part everyone acknowledges you. I’ve tried several things but my favorite is the chicken and rice with onions, peppers, tomatoes and feta cheese. I’ve also had the chicken souvlaki, the chicken stir fry and a few of the oven melts and I’ve never been disappointed. 9.28.2018 I ordered some thing different from Babas. In all my years I always would order the same thing. On this day I had a chicken Souvlaki Sub and it was GREAT! From the menu it is a new item and I must say they nailed it, ITS A MUST TRY. The sub comes with all of the fixings that’s on a chicken Souvlaki salad but placed on a nice fresh sub roll. My friends ordered a gyro sub that I didn’t taste but he said that it was really good and he should’ve ordered 2 full subs vs 1 full sub. I did get to taste the chicken hoagie and I must say I was completely thrown. From the looks of it it seems to be dry but that isn’t the case AT ALL, it was juicy and full of great flavor. Glad I attempted to try something new and was actually satisfied.

Shish Kabobs and Gyros – Menu with Prices – 9619 N Hayden Rd #106, Scottsdale

Stopped in here for a quick dinner and left really impressed! Seems like a Vietnamese family runs this spot with a combination of Mediterranean and Vietnamese food. Ordered the gyro plate with rice and it also came with hummus, pita and a side salad. The gyro meat was perfection, tender and full of flavor. The hummus had a slight kick to it which I love and of course, warm pita bread to go with it. Good food at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back again!

Sahara Delight – Menu with Prices – 119 S Washington Square, Lansing

Came in for the first time today. The first thing you will notice is how good it smells in here. I ordered the lunch special of a Gyro, Fries, and a drink for $7.99. I asked to substitute a Greek salad in place of the fries and was glad I did. The salad is packed with fresh vegetables and a great Greek dressing. The Gyro was packed full of lamb, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatzaki sauce. Excellent lunch and fast service. The owner, Ali, is standing right there making sure your meal is prepared right. This is an excellent stop for lunch and I will definitely return. Trust.
