Lamb Tocino?! Now, why not?! This is why I came here! Never had this before in all Filipino restaurants. I think though they are confused as their have american breakfast dishes as well so I would not consider this place only Filipino food. This place has a mixture of dishes. The place has gone through a few owners and has been around for awhile from what I have heard. You would never guess their was a restaurant here?! I thought it was a train station as this place is right next to the Amtrak station. Place is not big either unless you eat outside. They have a nice patio. Met with Wanda the owner who was very friendly but busy doing everything. She seemed to be on her own when we came. We came here with a few people. I shared a pork sisig while I had their lamb tocino. The lamb tocino was not gamey at all and was very good with their garlic rice and sunny side egg. Their pork sisig was ok. I have had better. Prices were pricy at under $10 ea. I will have to try their other dishes one day. I tried their honeydew smoothie but it was not a milk smoothie like I thought but an ICEE like at a 7-11 convenient store. Totally not worth the $4.50?!! Don’t get it! That was a disappointment and I ended up throwing it away! I give this place a good solid three stars as the lamb tocino idea and service was good. Nothing special about the rest but dishes offer a decent homecooked simple meal. Prices could be cheaper though. My suggestion only…[34/100]

Le Hai Cafe & Grill – Menu with Prices – 125 Mallory Ave, Jersey City

Ahh… i hate giving the worst review to a Filipino mom and pop like this but someone has got to say it right? Im writing this review from my own and my friend’s experience on two different visits within a 4 months span. The atmosphere is great friendly staff, great little art on the blackboard on the side. The problem was with the food which was supposed to be the main highlight of your experience at a restaurant right? Since it was our first time visiting the place we wanted to explore their menu by ordering the following Filipino BBQ, Sisig (pork), Pork Intestine, Fish ball, kwek-kwek, and hot dog. Filipino BBQ – 7/10 The flavor is there but the meat was kind of hard to chew. Sisig – 5/10 Presentation is good its well prepared with that fresh egg cracked in the middle. But unfortunately it did not taste as good at it looked. Something was definetly off and I have tasted a wide range of different styles of sisig in the past. Pork Intestine – 7/10 Flavor is good, presentation is ok and they give you 3 skewers per order with a vinegar on the side. Personally this was the first time trying this but I still like the chicken intestine better. Fish ball and Kwek kwek – 0/10 ughh this was what ruined the experience for me even more. It looks appetizing from the looks of it but I took one bite and something just taste wierd about it. It definetly does not taste like a normal kwek kwek and fish ball. We couldnt even finish it and had to take it to go. Hot dog 10/10 I mean… it’s a normal filipino red hot dog that was cooked on the grill. Also we may or may have gotten food poisoning on this place because we started having headaches and having diarrhea after we went here. It is going to be hard going back to this place again. I was really looking forward for this place to be good because its open later than other Filipino place and it as I mentioned before it has a cool atmosphere. I really hope they update their food as soon as possible. I will more than likely to update my review and ratings if changes are made.

Walmart Bakery Menu with Prices 8300 W Overland Rd, Boise

A 5 star gas station? YES! Imagine walking into your favorite go to gas station. You walk in, get a pop or maybe a snack and you get to the register and you pay for your items. You know that you are paying higher prices than you could if you went to a big box grocery store, but it’s “convenient”, right? Well, think about paying the “Everyday Low Price” of Walmart inside that “convenient” store. That’s right, at Walmart’s fuel station you get Walmart prices… Need milk? $1.88 not $2.99 like other stores! Also, they have fun stuff from the main store such as: Deli food, yogurts, eggs, bakery items– all at the low Walmart price. They have everything that traditional stations have plus more, but lower prices. I am a fan of Walmart Fuel Stations!

Marie’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 11910 Greenville Ave Suite 103, Dallas

This is literal definition of a hole in the wall. It’s so randomly placed inside of an office building and seems like most of their business comes from that building. When I was there they only had two people working who were both very sweet and friendly. They have a variety of American dishes as well as a Filipino breakfast menu served all day. I decided to try to try a combo tocilog/longsilog. The tocino is sweet delicious slices of barbecued pork belly and the longanisa are sweet little sausages. Both were good in their own way, but I thought that the tocino outshone the longanisa. The dish comes with garlic flavored rice and two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. On the side, they bring you pickled papaya and sliced chilis as condiments. They recommend you add vinegar to the chilis and dip your meat in it, which I did happily. It’s not too spicy and adds some wonderful acidity to the sweetness of the meats. You get a ton of food for the price, it’s all freshly cooked and delicious. Plus they bring out a free little snack of corn nuts as an appetizer and fresh slices of strawberries and grapes for dessert! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique and tasty meal.

Family Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 3848 McKinley St, Corona

This is a pleasant surprise to find as it is tucked away in an easy-to-miss shopping center. I stumbled upon this market after trying out a Filipino restaurant a few doors down. Let’s just say that my dining experience left me disappointed and inspired to cook up some Filipino dishes. As a result, I checked out Family Seafood Market to see if they had any fresh produce for my craving for beef nilaga. They have a small produce selection but I ain’t complaining! They have the essentials like calamansi, pechay, talong (eggplant), and bittermelon. A quick step to your right and you’ll find yourself in their fish department, which also have the essentials– tilapia, bangus, pompano, etc. There’s even a tiny prepared foods area with 2-3 Filipino dishes, including fried chicken skin. Take another step to your right and they have a freezer full of ingredients for Filipino baking and breakfast. Odd thing is that they have tapa and tocino but no longanisa?! They also have a few aisles of other Filipino essentials, ranging from soy sauce and mixes to flan pans and barong tagalogs. At the cashier, be sure to pick up one of their freshly baked bibingkas. Utterly delicious! They also have BBQ sticks, fried turon, and other baked goods to tantalize you while you pay.

Sawali Grill Restaurant Menu with Prices 3414 W Ball Rd G, Anaheim

Crispy Pata Heavan at Sawali Grill Filipino! Yes, it’s true! Sawali Grill Filipino will provide you will the most crispiest and moist crispy pata you have ever eaten! The small and quaint turo turo restaurant offers various dishes for your typical 2 item combo with 1/2 rice and 1/2 pancit with 2 sides. I ordered: * 1/2 Rice & 1/2 Pancit with Beef Caldereta & Sisig * Crispy Pata The crispy pata was a special order and took about 15 minutes ….. No problem. When I was in the car, I couldn’t wait to taste the crispy skin and it was absolutely delicious! However, I was disappointed that I only received the soy sauce and vinegar dipping sauce. No Tomas sauce =( The beef caldereta and sisig were yummy and the crispy pata was so yummy! Crispy skin and the meat was so moist! I’m a fan of Sawalit Grill Flipino ……. 4 Stars!

Fil-Am BBQ Grill – Menu with Prices – 1500 E Village Way #2215, Orange

This little spot in the Village Mall has delicious homemade Filipino food made on-site. The Mom & son team r quite the A+ team, I’ve been here plenty of times, all hours of the day, and it’s always the two of them. Their popular chicken & pork BBQ sticks r what this place is well known for at $2/pc, this meaty stick is full of a perfect balance of delicious smoky & bbq taste in every bite. So many traditional Filipino dishes, beef steak, pork adobo, fried fish, beef caldereta, pancit, sabaw, sometimes Kare-kare. And U can make-2-order sisig, lumpia, and many other popular dishes. Now let’s talk about my favorite part- the dessert “halo-halo,”is refreshingly made to order as well- slushy ice, condensed milk, jellies, beans, Ube ice cream etc. in a perfect ratio. Plus, sometimes they have other desserts- ube hilaya, bibingka, etc. This restaurant shares a seating area of tables & seats in front of its establishment with neighboring restaurants, never really too busy. Oh let me not forget, they cater too, just call in advance, and easily work with what U need. To p/u Ur catering there’s nearby 10min parking spots in front of entrance, by Ulta.

Salu Salo Filipino Cuisine Menu with Prices 7401 Matlock Rd Suite 113, Arlington

If you want filipino food like how yo Very filipino grandma makes it, go to Salu-salo!! The prices were very affordable and cheap unlike other filipino restaurants.I heard that the business owner is kapampangan. People from pampangga are known to be the best cooks in the philippines. Trying this restaurant for the first time just proved that kapampangans never disappoints when it comes to food. It was very filipino authentic and its the perfect comfort food. I came in here with a family of 4 and we ordered almost everything in the displays. If you come in here and dont know what to get, get whatever because i dont think you can go wrong with anything you order. Everything was absolutely delicious and authentic. The service was very fast and the staff was very friendly and attentive. One of the staff, i believe his name was wally went out of his way to grab my family some drinks and ask us how our food is, despite the restaurant being self service. This restaurant made me feel like home, and it gives off â??dampaâ? vibes like the fresh seafood â??palutoâ? restaurants in the philippines because of the live karaoke music thats very pleasing to listen to while enjoying the meal, and the banana leaves that they use for the plating. I barely knew anybody in the restaurant yet they made me feel like home. My family and i will be coming back again to this filipino restaurant, and i will be telling more of my friends about this. Thank you salu salo, for the very satisfying food, service, and filipino home atmosphere!!

Tokyo & Filipino Cuisine Buffet – Menu with Prices – 1015 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale

Really conflicted about my experience here at Tokyo Sushi Express. This place is no thrills – small buffet only menu of ‘home made’ Filipino food. As a random white guy from Tennessee who has never been to any part of Asia, do I know anything about Filipino food or culture? No. Did I enjoy the hospitality of the chef/owner? Yes, she was very sweet. I tried several of the dishes, but nothing was labeled so I had no clue what I was eating. I would have been happier to know exactly what I was eating, but I enjoyed a couple of the dishes. The noodles were good. I would like to research more before going to another Filipino restaurant or returning here, but this place caters to Filipinos, who more than likely are very familiar with the dishes offered. I would say, I think this place should label their items for those who want to try but arent familiar with Filipino food. 4*

iSLAS FILIPINO BBQ & BAR – Menu with Prices – 1690 Queen St W, Toronto

This Filipino BBQ and Bar (Restaurant) is located in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood of Toronto and can be conveniently accessed by car and local transit (TTC). Street parking is readily available and there is additional privately owned and operated lots nearby. My friends and I (group of 8) were easily accommodated for a reservation made just a few days in advance – which is a nice surprise nowadays as getting a large group reservation for downtown restaurants on the weekend can be very challenging. Most of my friends chose to dine the traditional way; kamayan style whereby the food (combination of BBQ meats, rice and oysters) is presented/served on banana leaves and eaten with your hands (plastic gloves provided). Because I am vegetarian I chose the “Filipino Peanut Slaw Salad” which is a blend of cabbage, Napa, red pepper, carrots, cilantro, with creamy peanut dressing, and a modified “Pork and Chicken Sisig” substituting tofu for the pork and chicken. This dish is made with onion, garlic, ginger and chilli – presented on a sizzling hot plate. I was disappointed that the restaurant did not have “Mix Mix” available. Instead we were given the chose of 3 traditional flavours of ice cream: “UBE, JACKFRUIT, and/or UBEMACAPUNO” however after the server brought out 3 of our 8 choices she informed us that they had run out of the ice cream choices from the menu – and instead were given chocolate ice cream. The restaurant is small but very nice. Lighting is perfectly dim with modern ceiling fixtures which set the tone for an enjoyable evening out in the city. The waitstaff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating when it came to menu substitutions. The prices were very reasonable. My only feedback would be to provide a little more variety for vegetarian customers… and make sure that you have enough of everything listed on the menu to avoid disappointing your guests. The limited vegetarian selections at Islas Filipino BBQ and Bar means I won’t be back next weekend. But when they change up their menu I’ll gladly round up my friends and head back for a second try!

Elhariri Hot Halal food Menu with Prices 301 Ontario St, Albany

The best lamb around!! This is my new favorite place for lamb- it is by far the best quality you’ll find. With the lamb over rice and the lamb wrap, you’ll get your lamb sliced off right in front of you- that’s how fresh the meat is. The meat is well seasoned and has a great texture. For the quality of lamb, the price is reasonable and definitely worth a try! Tip- try not to come too late in the day or there won’t be much lamb left and the core was significantly softer in texture- not very tasty.

BTR Pinoy Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1560 W Willow St, Long Beach

One of the most authentic, flavorful and reasonably priced Filipino food I’ve had! I’ve been eating here almost every week ever since my coworkers introduced me to this place. – A small mom-and-pops, turo-turo place owned by a friendly, genuine couple – There’s parking on site and have never had any issues, although I try not to come during peak hours – Food selection changes everyday, but they have a standard “menu” for each day of the week posted on the wall – I love love love their pork sisig. Since I’m trying to eat less meat, this is an occasional treat for me. – Other favorites are Daing, Lechong Kawali, Bicol Express, Ginisang Munggo, Tortang Talong, Dilis, Miswa, etc. – These I haven’t tried, but I’m sure they’re good: Lumpiang Shanghai, Afritada, Adobo, Sinigang, Fried Calamari, Ganataang Halo Halo, Kare Kare, Arroz Caldo, etc. – Get their turon. It’s crispy, sweet and always fresh. My family loved it when I got some catered for Christmas. – They have yema and ube balls, which is like palitaw with filling inside, but so far, it’s only available for catering. Family loved this as well. – Sometimes they don’t cook more if they run out, but you can call and have them save an item for you – They close early around 5, so no dinner – Still need to try their breakfast Come here if you want your Filipino home cooked meals and kakanin!

Angus Meat Market – Menu with Prices – 2700 Maplewood Dr, St Paul

Growing up as a kid I always thought the butcher was the meat counter at the grocery store. I never knew that there was something outside of that. When I heard butcher I usually was probably thinking of delis or something else of that nature, but never something like this place. My husband and I were in charge of Christmas eve dinner. We decided to go with a lamb ragu. The thing is lamb has been pretty hard to find in Minnesota, which was never a problem in California. I hunkered downed and pulled up all the butchers in the area ready to make a bunch of phone calls. I called Angus Meats and he had exactly what I wanted. Better yet, he was willing to cut it up for me! I was stoked I found the lamb on the first call. I drove over to the nondescript shop thinking it wouldn’t be too crazy. I pull into the parking lot and it is packed! Already I knew this was a good sign. Inside there was a ring of people. You take a number and wait for them to call you. The staff here were on fire! There was probably 4-6 of them at a time and the line flew. They were friendly but efficient. They kept a smile on your face without stopping to talk to you about the weather for 5 minutes. Excellent work. Their selection was also amazing. It was the kind of place that reminds you why you want to get a chest freezer. They had about any cut of meat you could want from just about any animal you would want to eat. They also had some bomb pickles. The lamb was delicious! It was right up there with some of the lamb I had in New Zealand (where sheep outnumber people 7:1). I’m not a big lover of lamb, but I would eat that dish again in a heartbeat. I loved this place so much that I convinced my husband we need a chest freezer so we can stock up. I’ll also briefly comment on the liquor store because I stopped by there. They have decent prices and a decent selection. Not the widest variety, but given the size they do a decent job. What I did like was that I saw a lot of Minnesota options. I thought it was cool that they really showcase local liquors. The service was also super friendly. Definitely worth stopping in. 83/100
