EDIT: This really seems like an ad for Kern Hydro, and I’d like to make it known, they have no clue who I am. I am a very limited grower, who doesn’t like to deal with BS. This store does not sponsor my operations in the least, the praise simply comes from the lack of respect I’ve had at other places. I’ve been on a few occasions for various things, and not only did I have someone who was friendly, but they are actually helpful, and knowledgeable about gardening. Too many stores are simply trying to sell the most expensive equipment that you don’t need, and it gets old. Gardening is simple (for the most part), don’t let folks talk down to you about your hobbies, go to Kern Hydroponics! Solid folks here! I will always pass at least one store and make it across town, even waiting until the next day if I need to. I’d much rather give these guys my money when I need something than listen to ‘experts’ who do everything one way. If you work at Kern Hydroponics, thank you for all your help!

Wine Me Down Menu with Prices 11775 Northfall Ln STE 108, Alpharetta

I have been lucky enough to catch the early opening of this place so I have attended on a number of occasions and really one simple reason why – solid cigar collection, good drinks, great people, and great music. They also have a handle on the market in that their prices are reasonable – not something you typically see at wine and cigar bars. The music here is on a different level, not bland or preprogrammed like most folks like me are conditioned to expect at a bar these days. They take requests and they seem to just keep the mood right – something you may not immediately notice, but hey, that is the point. Additionally, the music system is designed to allow you to speak with someone at a normal tone but still feel and hear the music clearly – I want this system everywhere I go! One thing I should also mention is that they have Hookah, which is a solid offering that I have seen many partake. Atmosphere: Simply put, grown and sexy. This is a place where you will meet solid folks who enjoy wine, whiskey, and cigars. Also where you can meet someone and have a great conversation while listening to a variety of music that soothes as well as moves you.

Whey Fit Bar – Menu with Prices – 12001 Shelbyville Rd Suite 104, Louisville

This is probably one of the best recommendations because I am not a member but had an event here, yesterday, 1/20/2019; â??Bodybuilding Competition Seminar 101â? with Autumn Cleveland and her crew! I walked around as I wait for my class to begin, I noticed how clean the place was, from front to back, spacious and great updated equipment! Every step I took looking around, someone tried to help me – WOW!! Just a bunch of friendly caring folks, I love this gym, but, Iâ??m way in Elizabetown! Recommend 10/10!! If Iâ??m in Louisville Iâ??ll definitely get a day pass or something; love it!! Allan Francis!!

Critical Hit Games – Menu with Prices – 1003 W 6th St, Corona

Best game shop ever!!! They were very clean, organized, and stocked with some wonderful games and supplies for a variety of hobbies. My DnD group met up there, and they were more than accommodating to let us move tables together, use their wifi, play some soft music, and play. They were polite and accepting of our shenanigans. I would recommend this store to anyone, give them a visit! One tip about parking, there is parking available on their sides, at the back, and in the surrounding streets.

International Liquor Store and Market – Menu with Prices – 2515 W Carson St Ste 105, Torrance

Can’t complain. They have a lot of stuff that you might need in a hurry like soaps batteries hair brush etc etc things like that in case your traveling or are just in need of quick items and.dont want the hassle.of the grocery store. They have drinks (alcohol, & non-alcoholic) snacks, candy chips granola bars etc etc. Cigarettes, scratchers, and other little Nick nacks that you may need. Basically they have a little of everything. Last time I went they were not accepting EBT cards but no big deal. Guy who works there isn’t overwhelmed with joy about working there but he’s not rude or anything. Just simple and quick. Overall a decent little store. In a decent location.

Spice & Spirits – Menu with Prices – 1 N New Warrington Rd, Pensacola

I would really like to rate these folks higher – but … been here twice for lunch buffet … very nice staff – they simply aren’t closing the business case. One time a few minutes before 1 pm and another time 20 minutes after noon. Middle of the week both times. While the food is pretty OK and tasty, there seems to be a problem with having food at the buffet – actually IN THE HEATING TRAYS. I’m sure most folks have been places where this happened so you know the angst it causes to be forced to find someone and say – “hey, could you bring out some food?” In this case, staff would go over and carefully move what was in the trays over to one end, but not put any more food in. I’m talking anything with meat in it being devoid of meat. They also have a bit of a timeline problem – from order to nan was probably 15 minutes – it was fresh and good, but, again … this simply won’t endear people to want to return. My assessment is they have so little traffic, it seems painful for them to put the food out – however, this is simply a business issue – and almost circular argument. They need to be SO GOOD they will get more traffic. I hope they make it – but, not having a great feeling about their longevity.

Sunny Donuts – Menu with Prices – 6832 Coit Rd #260, Plano

If I could give them a negative rating I would. The Asian lady running it is very racist. She is wonderful to all the white folks that shop there. I have been there 5 or 6 times and had the same experience over and over again. She is rude. I see her smile and politely address all the white folks but if you are black or brown she will simply ask “what do you want?”, as if I am not going to pay her. In addition, the donuts are never warm, she will not give you fresh donuts from the back instead will warm up the donuts in the microwave. Also, she will give white folks free donut holes but will charge colored people 20c for each. I will NEVER go back there. And, if you are colored, I suggest you don’t go there either. Their donuts are nothing special and are not fresh either.

Cabot Farmers’ Annex – Menu with Prices – 163 Commercial St, Portland

THIS PLACE IS SIMPLY LIFE CHANGING. This store is the only reason I venture down to Commercial Street. It is purely a DELIGHT of epic proportions. This store offers samples of cheese. Free samples of cheese. FREE. CHEESE. The front of the store includes numerous cheddar samples, including aged and sharp, extra sharp, etc. They also usually have their hot honey out to try too. The back of the store is where the party starts. There are probably a dozen cheeses available for sampling. The hot habanero cheese is truly magical. As is the garlic and herb. But don’t miss the everything bagel cheese, for this may open your soul to a new religious experience. There’s a plethora of fun cheese-related trinkets throughout the store, including cheese cookbooks, cleavers (and mini-cleavers!), dips, and things to dip into dips (pretzels, crackers, other delicious items). After you sample enough cheese to pass as a meal, stop by their cooler and grab some blocks of their VERY reasonably priced cheese. There are speciality cheeses, pre-cut cheeses, THERE’S EVEN MEAD IN THAT COOLER. Also, there are paintings of cows everywhere. This store is a stone’s throw from my office, so 80% of my lunch breaks are spent chatting with the superbly friendly staff and deciding which new cheese(s) I should purchase. It can get crowded in here, especially during tourist season, but you MUST SNEAK IN AND BASK IN THIS PORTLAND LANDMARK. If you don’t, you’re missing out massively. TEN STARS FOR THIS MASTERPIECE.

Simply Dinners – Menu with Prices – 2920 N Swan Rd # 106, Tucson

I’ve been to a couple of other meal prep chains and have had ok experiences. The food is usually edible but nothing to get excited about so I was a little skeptical about trying Simply Dinners out. I like the concept of somebody else planning the meals, chopping and laying out the ingredients and providing you with all the supplies to do it. And they clean up after you too! One of the things my husband complains about is the mess I make in the kitchen whenever I cook. Simply Dinners doesn’t care if you spill stuff on the counters or leave your dirty bowls out. In fact, they tell you to just leave your mess there and they come around and clean it up! If you don’t believe me, just go there and see for yourself. The thing I like about Simply Dinner is they aren’t a chain, their menus are full of local and fresh ingredients and the meals have a regional flavor. I’ve had a couple of my meals already and both tasted fresh and delicious. Anyway, this place is great. I checked out their menu selections online, reserved a date and time and paid for everything right then. When you arrive, if it’s your first time there, they give you the health dept required talk about safety and cleanliness (you gotta wash your hands every time you touch anything that’s not food-related). I suggest that if you have long hair, tie it back before you arrive. One of the assistants can help you prepare one of your meals just to show you how it’s done. Afterwards, you’re on your own. The menus are easy to understand and you can make your own changes to a recipe if you want. For instance, I don’t like a lot of green peppers so if I saw it in a recipe, I just didn’t include it. They have aprons, all the equipment, pans and supplies you need. There’s always someone there to help you find something or answer any questions but for the most part, they don’t hover. It’s really simple and fun esp if you go with a friend. Prices are reasonable too. The average price of each serving of the meals I got was under $6. That’s about the cost of a fast food meal except this his healthier and tastes way better. Plus you actually know what’s in your food. Bring a cooler to transport all your food. You’ll smell like garlic after you leave but it’s a homey smell, like you’ve been slaving away in a kitchen all day. I will definitely come back.

Sal’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6773 Carnelian St, Rancho Cucamonga

Best pizza around the Rancho Cucamonga area I have found! Tried it for the first time, I ordered the XL 2 topping pizza for $23! Slices were huge, they were very generous with the toppings and it tasted delicious!! I normally just eat 1 or 2 “small” slices, like pizza hut sizes, but this pizza was so good I ate 4! And the slices were big I couldve been full with 1! I didnt get to take a photo, I was too hungry! They dont accept debit/credit so be warned of that and its not a sot down restaurant, they’re just a store front. But this is perfect to call ahead and pick up for an amazing dinner! Dont waste time with fast food pizza when you can have the real thing! I will be coming back!

Tinker Coffee Co. – Menu with Prices – 1125 W 16th St, Indianapolis

Having tried Tinker Coffee at quite a few local coffee shops, I decided to finally head downtown to the source of those fine brews to get some for home. The location does not have a “fresh pot brewing” for you, so if you are thinking it’s a coffee shop, you would be mistaken. What it does have is the source beans and a large roaster and the end product sold (as whole beans or ground) in 12 oz. bags. When I entered, I was greeted and the man asked what kind of coffee I liked, what I used to make it, and then made recommendations for the coffees that best fit that description. I picked up a couple of the resealable bags: One was Muheres Cafeteras (Coffee Women) which is medium coffee from Colombia that is from a collective of over 300 female coffee producers. It has hints of Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, and jam. I don’t have the best equipment at home, and may not have made it quite strong enough, but the flavors were very subtle, but nice. I also picked up a Finca La Aurora (Villa Aurora) from Nicaragua which is another medium blend with hints of chocolate, shortbread, and red apple. This one was my preferred flavor as the accents came through a little better on my equipment and balanced out quite well. Neither of the choices had the bitterness I’ve found in store bought coffee. Yeah! As I wrote earlier, there was a balance in the flavor so that though there is probably some bitterness, it didn’t dominate the flavor. For those who are interested, there are occasional “cupping” events on site that cost $15 for a class (90 to 120 minutes) held on select Saturdays. You do have to reserve a spot on their website to attend since they limit the class size to make it manageable for the staff and enjoyable for the visitors. I hope to make one of the upcoming classes soon so I can learn all about the finer points of appreciating coffee nuances. Until then, I will simply enjoy what I have just purchased. Review #2133

H-E-B Bakery – Menu with Prices – 26500 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring

I LOVE HEB, especially when your neighborhood HEB is new, amazing & beautiful. (It is accurate to call a grocery store beautiful, right?) Anyways, this HEB has everything you want in a grocery store. This location is so great for a lot of reasons. For starters, their selection of organic & Central Market items is great! I can shop everything organic for such a great price. They have everything you would need from organic produce, plenty of great brands (Annie’s, Amy’s, Glutino, etc), and great selections of their HEB organic brands. Nearly every organic brand product will have some type of HEB organic product competing for prices. This store also has great selections for every food category: fresh produce, fresh deli, fresh meat & fish market, HUGE wine & beer selection, natural products, etc. I really can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t be able to shop here and find everything they need! One of my favorite parts about this HEB? It’s so clean! Granted it’s pretty new, but they employees keep this place spic & span. Aisles are always organized, produce, dairy & meat areas are always clean, and they store is just sparkling! I also always have great experiences with their employees. Whether I’m just checking out or need help finding something, they are always willing to help & have great attitudes! The store always feels pretty busy (except nights), but the checkout lines are quick & efficient. They also have the new little shopping areas that HEBs have now with cool home decor & jewelry. The floral floral department has a great selection & they are constantly making awesome arrangements (including cool succulent arrangements)! They have a ready-to-eat area where you can order food in the store + a small cafe area to eat it at. AND they have the outdoor section with lots of gardening supplies, outdoor decor & furniture, and all your firewood needs. It really has everything, so I’m a fan!

Sur La Table – Menu with Prices – The Shops at Dos Lagos, 2795 Cabot Dr #110, Corona

Sur La Table is a well known brand, but the reason they became well known is probably because they had an excellent combination of great products and great service. I have stopped shopping at several other retailers who claimed to be in the higher end arena because they don’t deliver on the service side of things. Firstly, when I’m shopping at a “high end” store, I should be inspired by your staff’s knowledge or ability to point me in the right direction and ensure I have what I want. You get that with Sur La Table. NOT with some other competitors. Specifically, this location has helped me out of a jam now a couple of times. Most recently tonight, when I needed something at the last minute that had me driving from Temecula to Corona. Judy (who may be the store manager) was incredibly helpful, pleasant and actually pointed me in the right direction to find a suitable (even better than what I came for) alternative to a specialty product. She went above and beyond the call of duty and she knew her product well. Her simple gesture really helped me out. I’m definitely a customer at this location forever. If you need high end culinary/kitchen/food stuffs and equipment, the slight premium you pay on (only) some items is well worth it, as you get a bunch more value in the staff and the resources available. It’s also a low volume store, so shopping is mellower and you get time to really figure out what you need. It is in the Dos Lagos center just north of Trader Joe’s (a couple hundred yards). You don’t come here for gimmicky baking pans you can get at 79% off at Marshall’s. You come here for legit cooking utensils, high end food related items and great brands. You get what you pay for. And if you’re serious about your gear, you prefer to shop at Sur La Table.
