My husband and I were actually on our way to a pizza shop last weekend, that we have yet to try, when we decided instead to go to Durango Grill. I’d read somewhere that they were very good, so we got sidetracked and ended up here. Meh…maybe we should have went with the pizza. Pulling up, the parking lot is not that attractive. But let’s not hold that against them. After all, we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I generally love little hole in the walls; and especially have a soft spot for sports bar. I wouldn’t say this is a ‘sports bar’. There are a couple of TVs, but I would just say this is a bar; a small bar at that. Nothing fancy and that’s okay. If the food and service would have rocked my boots, I’d have definitely visited again and again, but unfortunately, I was left with something to be desired. Let’s not say bad; it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. My main issue was the slow service. I mean, we sat and sat before anyone acknowledged us. It was like they had lead in their boots. After that, food wasn’t terribly long coming out. The waitress/bartender did come over once (and I mean literally once) to check on us. Okay, we were good overall. My husband could have used a refill sometime after that, but it is what it is. I had gotten a water with lemon and he ordered an unsweetened iced tea. For our appetizer, we went with the mozzarella cheese sticks. They weren’t even in my top 10 best cheese sticks. They were okay at best. We happened to be there for 1/2 price appetizers, so that was cool. For our entree, we got the bacon cheddar burger with fries. The fries were excellent. I wish I could say the same with the burger. I probably would have loved it more if it didn’t have a fish aftertaste. I’m not sure why I kept tasting fish (if it were the bun or the burger), but there was a fishy taste to my burger…something fishy was going on. The place is not child appropriate (not even in the middle of the afternoon). I heard some really vulgar language during our dine in experience that made both my husband and I chuckle. We’re grown; we can handle it. But I certainly wouldn’t want my stepdaughter or grandkids in there to hear some of the things that were coming out of those old guys mouths. Prices were excellent! A real value for the amount of food that you get; I must say that! The sign on the door was a little disturbing. My bottom line? Food was decent; not great. Prices are excellent. Atmosphere is lacking. If you love the hole in the wall bar, this place is for you. We may return, but likely not. Just not our scene.

Taco Shop Mexican Grill – Menu with Prices – 1331 Kendall Dr #7, San Bernardino

I really wanted to like this place. I ordered a single chile relleno with asada fries. The food looked beautiful! I took a bite of the relleno and spit it out. FISH! the batter tasted like fish, I thought I was biting into an order of fish and chips. Now, I enjoy fish WHEN I order it. This was unexpected and gross, who wants to eat a fishy chile relleno!!?? This first bite was so disgusting I threw it out. I cannot eat at a place that doesn’t clean their oil regularly or at least keep one oil separate for fish that’s not used for the other food. My husband liked his asada plate with tortillas, rice, and beans. Not enough to make us want to go back and try our luck on our food being cooked on fishy oil.

King’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1235 S Central Ave, Glendale

Food: My wife and I ordered a Truffle Burger and Baja Fish Tacos, both with fries. They were absolutely excellent. The Truffle Burger was cooked as asked and tasted exquisite. There was some juicy truffle oil and you can taste that umami flavor in the burger thanks to the mushrooms. The baja fish tacos came in a pair and oh my gosh. They were gigantic. The chef did not skimp on the fish. Each taco contained two giant nuggets of fish, slaw and radish along with some sauces and a side of jalepenos. Ash, the cashier, waiter, server extraordinaire was extremely friendly. He noticed my wife and I had Games Workshop stuff and just wanted to chat with us. Not just be friendly, but he genuinely wanted to chat with us and get to know us and that’s the kind of service I’ve never received at a restaurant before. The prices of the food 100% match the quality you’re getting. It’s very delicious and they don’t skimp on anything. All love for this place. Please support your local businesses!

Time Out Sports Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1762 S Greenfield Rd Ste 111, Mesa

My fiance and I came here when it first changed to Time Out. We sat at a bar table and was assisted by the bartender. she was SO nice and told us all about the new changes and how she worked there when it was Fat Willys and we told her how we only went there once because food was gross. She assured us new owner made many changes. We were ecstatic. We ordered a burger and wings and some mixed drinks. Food came out perfect. No complaints at all. We live across the street and were excited that this place was now amazing. Ended there because every time we go in there now there is new charges. Now they charge for fries when they didnt the first time. Then after getting our bill we noticed they charge for kids drinks, they dont come with the kids meal like most places. Also they have kids eat free which is a big deal for us since we have 3, well apparently even though we paid full price for wings because it wasnt a day they were on special, they still wouldnt count it as an entree even though they cost more than the burger. At least make it a dollar amount or have it written somewhere in the place. We gad an amazing experience the first time but have been back 3 times since and been disappointed by service and by surprise charges. Wont be coming back. Havent seen that nice bartender since, unfortunately. Seems like they just want to do anything to get more money out of you but not really care about their guests. Sad to see.

Gyro’s Drive Inn – Menu with Prices – 444 W Mitchell St, San Antonio

Great CS, food is always hot and put in a timely manner. Love this place been coming for years always for the giant fish burger. It is a different type of fish then that is used in the regular two piece order or family box. Definitely recommend fish burger if your on a solo lunch or maybe just two people. Since feeding the family this could become expensive. They have a very wide variety of options including shakes and wings! The sweet tea is the bomb fries change out over time so that’s why no biggie. Make sure to tip!

PICK’S At PLX Menu with Prices 530 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron

I’ve heard such great things about this place and I really wanted to love it. I went with my husband for dinner, and things were off to a great start. They had fantastic grapefruit martinis and the homemade white French dressing on my salad was delicious. However, there was a lot of shredded cheese that in comparison to the salad greens was hard and created an uninviting texture. My husband ordered the steak and red skin potatoes. His steak came out well done, and he ordered it medium. The potatoes were well seasoned, but dry. He ate his meal saying as he can eat well done, and he enjoyed the sear and seasoning on the meat. I ordered the salmon and risotto. There were long stringy pieces of onion in my risotto, which was basically rice with the taste of onions. It was not risotto. There should not be anything stringy in risotto, and it should not be a solid mass like mashed potatoes. The salmon was fishy and tasted rotten. When I told the server, she took it back immediately and apologized. However, I learned another customer had the same complaint, which led me to wonder a few things. First, does the chef taste what is being sent out? Do they feel comfortable serving bad fish, which can lead to serious food poisoning? Did they think the other complaining customer was lying? I ordered the margarita pizza instead of the salmon. It was a cheese pizza, not a margarita pizza. Just a cheese pizza with tomato on it. I’ve had real margarita pizza, and this was not it. Not even close. I did eat it because I was starving, and brought it home to my son with his 17 and will eat anything. So very disappointing. I doubt we will return, unless we just want drinks. I will say our server was very sweet.

De Minico’s – Menu with Prices – 1319 45 Ave NE #5, Calgary

I found out about this little gem from the guys doing the cement work at my house. Turns out one of their familys owns it; being a pizza fanatic I had to try. So lets start. Price to size ratio is amazing. The smell when you enter the doors mind blowing. From the fresh ingredients to the home made dough and pizza sauce. This place is an all around win. Great food, great service. Hands down my new fave pizza spot. You cant beat this place. The ZaZa a unique and tasty take on pizza. Light fluffy crust, not greasy like most pizza joints. Family owned and operated you can see and taste and the love they put into their food. Check them out you wont be disapointed.

Tugboat Pete’s Hot Dog Stand – Menu with Prices – 421 Shoreline Village Dr, Long Beach

Came here with my family of 7 and the food was terrible, not to mention our order wasn’t right. My husband asked for a few additional napkins thru the side port hole window and the guy that appeared to maybe be the owner told him to go to the front. Thankfully another worker (a lady) handed them to my husband thru the port hole. My husband said “thank you” and then someone slammed the port hole window shut. It should be noted that they were calling names and orders out the port hole window so we figured we could get additional napkins. Since I’m giving a review, I’d also like to add that it was very unprofessional for another family (apparently friends of the workers) to go up to the port hole and order and not pay for their food and cut the line. We often take our boat down to Shoreline and won’t ever be eating there again.

Walker’s Pizza & Deli – Menu with Prices – 4939 Washington St, Stockton

I’ve been coming here since I was in high school. I used to order from here for our fundraisers. I always loved their pizza and how inexpensive it is. Freddie and his wife are so nice, they’re the nicest people ever. It’s one of those hole-in-the-wall restaurants. My friends and I always order from here whenever we crave for pizza. It’s a different type of pizza but it’s really good. I’m a teacher in lodi and I still order from here whenever my students have parties. I’ve brought so many people here and everyone of them said walkers is the best pizza they have ever had in stockton.

Aroma Artisan Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1100 3rd St SE, Cedar Rapids

My husband and I recently had Aroma Pizza cater our reception. Carol, her husband and family did a phenomenal job, had great energy, and were on top of things the entire time! The salad was so good and all of our guests kept coming up to us, commenting on how good the pizza was. They kept up with all of our hungry guests and kept the pizza coming nonstop. Our reception was at one of the lodges at Squaw Creek and we gave Carol and staff full access to use the entire kitchen an

The Warehouse Bar & Pizzeria Chicago – Menu with Prices – 1419 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago

I came here for the Purdue/OSU game over the weekend with some friends. It was the first time I’ve been here, but I have heard good things and it’s an official Purdue Bar. The atmosphere is definitely a sports bar with a good amount of TVs. There’s a big bar on the side and tables throughout the place. It’s not overly big, but I would estimate it seating about 60 people. Warehouse has some very good drink specials for Purdue games. I would even go as far as saying they have the best drink specials of the 6 Purdue bars in Chicago. They had a decent amount of whiskey, which was priced slightly above average probably due to it being in Lincoln Park. The menu is pretty massive. They have a ton of different pies and they have everything from pizza, burgers, pasta, salads, and wings. I ended up ordering the Breakfast pizza and a side of Mac n Cheese. The pizza was decent and it is thin crust. I thought the crust was a little burnt, which made the pizza a little dry. But the toppings were pretty good and it was very crispy. The eggs were very fluffy and the bacon was crispy. I definitely should have asked for some hot sauce to give it some additional flavor though. The Mac n Cheese was ok as I like my Mac n Cheese a little bit richer than this one. They did have different variants of the Mac n Cheese like Buffalo chicken and BBQ pork that would be worth a try. Service was adequate and prices were average. The Breakfast pizza was their brunch special and it was a 10 inch personal pie, which was very filling and it was $9. So that was an excellent deal. Like I said their menu was huge so I will have to come back and try some of their pizzas, especially their white pies. Overall, Warehouse Pizza is a solid neighborhood bar with decent food. I could definitely see myself coming here for future Boilermaker games! Boiler up!

South Cali Steak Burger Bar – Menu with Prices – 301 Montgomery St, Chula Vista

South Cali Steak Burger Bar (what a mouthful, huh?) did not disappoint. Our burgers were fire. I love when you go to a burger place & the burgers taste homemade, these burgers taste just like burgers you’d make for yourself on the grill at home. They were super juicy & flavorful. My husband ordered the original charbroiled burger w/ cheese & I ordered the avocado bacon burger. I was super torn because they have a teriyaki pineapple burger but I make those all the time at home, still I know it would have been lit. We both ordered 6oz patties & I literally thought they gave me the 8oz in error because my burger was huge, I could barely finish half. A huge plus was that they did NOT skimp on the ingredients! They gave me some big ol’ slices of avocado & three full slices of perfectly cooked bacon. THREE full slices! My husband made his meal a combo which came w/ seasoned fries & they were good, I love me a seasoned fry, y’all. South Cali Steak Burger Bar would have been out of our way otherwise but my husband had driven me down to Chula Vista so I could pick up some Cuban pastries and we almost didn’t stop in, despite the stellar reviews, because we didn’t see parking, but I’m so glad we did. I think we paid a little over $20 altogether & those are my kind of prices so I’d definitely stop in again if I ever found myself in Chula Vista.
