We were staying here during our convention in Bakersfield and I am not sure how I feel about the whole experience. Let me break it down for you. We arrived on Thursday night, checked in and were given a map and told to park in the back of the hotel so we could be closer to our room. We were on the 1rst floor and drove around looking for our room number listed on the plaques around the property. We get out where we think we are close than wander all the hallways until we wind up in the lobby. The guy who checked us in proceeds to tell us we are on the 1rst floor while the lobby is on the ground floor, meaning we are in the sub basement. We are told to look for stairs that go down one flight and there is an elevator close by that goes to the 1rst floor too. We wander some more but no elevators or stairs that go down one more flight. We start feeling like we might be getting punked or something and somehow wind up back in the lobby! lol The guy who checked us in gave us water and than walked us to our room. lol He was so nice! The room was clean but had stained tiles on the ceiling, like there had been a few leaks. We had a nice king sized bed and the room was relatively cool for being in 107 degree weather and cooled off quickly when the AC was put on. The hotel is undergoing renovations and it’s looking run down and sad. The elevator (the magic one we couldn’t find without someone holding our hand and walking us to), was ratty and a bar was broken, but than repaired the next day. My husband made coffee friday morning and the creamer was chunky! ? Both of them were spoiled. Dont think anyone used that room recently or they had a bad batch of creamers. They charge a lot for everything, room service was nice but food was crazy expensive and steak wasn’t that good. Breakfast bar wasn’t free, $17 but the scrambled eggs were the best ever! The bad part was lackluster service from one person working the breakfast area on Friday and Saturday. He gave me a glass of water and after drinking from it a few times, I noticed red lipstick on it! I wasn’t wearing lipstick. We brought it to the attention of a younger guy and he said “Yeah that happens sometimes.” and walked away and didn’t offer to get a new clean glass!? Really? Next day i inspected my glass and found a chunk of something stuck to the inside and my husband insisted on a new glass and the same guy took mine and his glass and replaced them without a word. This was the only other negative in the whole experience but it was pretty gross. Other than the spoiled creamer and dirty glasses, the hotel was comfortable and the rest of the employees were really nice and friendly. Yes they are renovating and its a bit inconvenient, but once they are done, they will be back to their normal self and running a good hotel. Its only three stars which is a good rating and they get that for their great employees at the front desk and the morning dining staff that actually washed their dishes!

Holiday Inn Tyler – Conference Center – Menu with Prices – 5701 S Broadway Ave, Tyler

I’m currently staying in this hotel this weekend. I have my family with me wife plus 3 kids under 10. My first impression based on appearance was good. When I walked in the lady at the desk was rude and had a horrible attitude. Then elevator was not working and we’re on the 3rd floor. The answer we got when the issue was brought up was “well I don’t know what you want me to do about it” they reset the elevator and told us you can use it at your own risk before they got done testing it it locked up again. As we are approaching the stairs the hotel has bags and bags of dirty sheets in the stair well. We go up the stairs to our room and the fold out bed doesn’t have sheets. Tried calling the front desk and what a suprise no answer after trying 10 times in a row. Walk back down stairs and ask for sheets for it and they have to go look for them because they don’t know if they have any. Make it up stairs and realize we are short pillows. Call the front desk, this time they answer and tell me they are all out of extra pillows. While I was on the phone I asked what time the pool opened and was told I think 9 or 10. The thing that got me worked up the most is they did not recognize that I am a spire elite member. Let’s re-cap, -traveling with family. -extremely rude employees -broken elevator (it happens, they could have handled differently) -no sheets for the pull out sofa -zero extra pillows in the entire hotel -the staff does not even know when the amenities of the hotel open. -not enough bedding to accommodate a “full house” – they did not recognize my member status. The hotel itself from what I have seen is nice. But the staff is horrible. Uneducated, rude, no personality horrible customer service. The hotel should have ample extra pillows and sheets, even if they are sold out for the night it’s still no excuse. Please do not take your family to this hotel. I hate that my kids have to deal with such poor people. This is suppose to be a nice family vacation and if I’m going to stay somewhere I expect it to be at the standards of Holiday inn as a whole.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chattanooga Downtown – Menu with Prices – 407 Chestnut St, Chattanooga

This is probably the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. If I could rate zero stars I would. Do NOT stay here. It is a waste of money. Let me start off with the construction. They are currently renovating the outside of the hotel. My girlfriend and I did not get any sleep because the painter’s lift that hangs from the roof was not secured down overnight and was banging up against the wall all night long. I’m talking about LOUD slams into the wall over and over again. One of the elevators was down in the hotel and the hotel was full.. so you can just imagine what a nightmare it was trying to get up and down to your floor. The elevator was always full, so guests and employees had to use the stairs. My room was right next to the stairway, so we had that sound all night long as well. We could hear people talking in the stairway, the door to the stairway slamming, and people walking up and down the stairs. The rooms are TINY!!! I’ve stayed in a bigger room at a motel 6. They advertise the rooms with pictures of a nice big jacuzzi tub. One of the reasons I booked this hotel. Guess what? Hardly any of the rooms have this tub. We did not get a tub. False advertising. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything in the rooms next to you. They do not have enough room for parking at this hotel. We had to park in a overflow lot across the street that was not gated or watched by security. Why did I pay $11 dollars to park when it wasn’t even on the hotel property and my car was not protected? This hotel is a absolute JOKE! I’ll never stay here again and I’ll tell as many people as I can to not stay here.

Hotel Preston – Menu with Prices – 733 Briley Pkwy, Nashville

This is a so-so hotel. The service was inconsistent – some of it good and some less so. The check-in was fast and friendly. When I arrived in my room, I discovered that the TV wasnâ??t working properly. I called the front desk and they sent someone with a few minutes. He was courteous and seemed genuinely interested in fixing the issue, which he did promptly. This was the best experience of my stay. . . The next morning, housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:00 to service my room. I wasnâ??t ready for the room to be serviced and asked her to come back. Some returned about 3:30 and cleaned the room. I had used the condiment packs from the coffee supplies and the housekeeper was about to leave the room without refilling them. I had to point that out to her. . . I attended a function at the hotel on Saturday night at which there was an open bar. The bar tender was lovely but clearly inexperienced. I asked for a margarita and she had to reference how to make it on her phone. (This is a simple statement of fact, and not a complaint. I appreciate that she looked it up.) . . This same person was in the function space earlier helping to set it up for the eveningâ??s festivities. The hotel was short-staffed with three events going on that night and they didnâ??t manage it well. That being said, the bartender worked hard and was extraordinarily pleasant and polite. She deserves a lot of credit for holding her own. . . On Sunday, I returned to the hotel after being out all morning. A housekeeper was mopping an elevator floor and even though she saw that I was waiting in the elevator, she didnâ??t stop mopping to allow me to board the elevator and go to my room. She didnâ??t acknowledge me at all. When she was finished, she allowed the doors to close and pressing the call button didnâ??t result in the doors opening back up immediately. . . There are two elevators, but because one elevator was already on the lobby level, I was unable to call the other. Another couple arrived a minute later and we eventually waited five minutes for an elevator to arrive. . . I was taking a shower on Sunday morning and at one point the water shut off. Not to a trickle, but all the way off. It stayed off for about 30 seconds and then slowly came back on. . . If youâ??re looking for a no-frills hotel close to the airport, the Hotel Preston is fine. You wonâ??t have great service but as long as youâ??re not expecting it, I suppose thatâ??s OK.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park – Menu with Prices – 4810 Page Creek Ln, Durham

This hotel is just a No for me, they get two stars for effort in trying to make things right but I just can’t. From the lobby you would think the hotel is updated but that is a negative grasshopper, the rooms are old and dingy and need to be updated PERIOD. I’ve actually stayed at this property in the past and although it wasn’t my favorite I don’t remember it being this bad. I checked into the hotel and initially was given a room on the side of the hotel nearest to the front desk on the Hilton honors floor. From jump I knew I was in for a surprise but let’s see where this goes. I get to the 4th floor only to be greeted by piles of sheets, trash and dirty towels on the floor in front of each of 4 rooms. One of those rooms couldn’t possibly be mine and it’s 7pm so why does the hall look this way. Well one of the rooms was mine, how am I supposed to get in is my next thought we’ll let’s go to the elevator phone and call the front desk to find out…ma’am can you just go in the room the dirty items mean they just cleaned, sir are you asking me to touch someone else’s dirty stuff to get in this room because that will never happen, oh no I’ll send someone right away (which they did) but the room was just too dingy for me so I requested to be moved, which they obliged and did. Fast forward to room 2, well I’m OCD and travel with my own cleaner and this room although better then the last needed a wipe down. I get to the bathroom to be greeted by pee on the toilet SERIOUSLY yeah I draw the line there but don’t want to be moved and I can’t forget the broken phone â? so I can’t call and am required to walk to the front desk – all I want to do is put my stuff down and go to dinner so I can prepare for tomorrow but that’s not happening. They send a house cleaner and maintenance worker to correct all the wrong but I’m already in checkout mode All in all this hotel won’t be graced by my presence in the future. Although the front desk worker was extremely nice, drink cards can’t fix this. You guys seriously need to put this hotel under renovation, mold in the shower, vents covered in dust, dirty carpet are only a few of my gripes. I travel to the area for business but this is on my list of no bueno hotels

Sheraton Music City Hotel – Menu with Prices – 777 McGavock Pk, Nashville

Overall I have a low likely hood to ever return to this hotel. Mainly because my checkin process took almost 45mins. . . My boyfriend(gold member) book this room for me. We decided on it because of no pet fee, we later found out there was a $75 pet fee. My boyfriend had me call him & speak to management. Once I requested this at the front desk, the checkin process got sour. The manager actually had my BF on speaker, while he was asking about pet fee that wasnâ??t disclosed (I later found were the pet fee was located; the manager never sent the promised screen shots). The manager also rudely tried to call me out to my BF. He was completely disgusted by this, she also proceeded to call him by my last name. This frustrated him even more. After it was all said in done, we got now where. She didnâ??t even finish the convo with him, she just tossed me the phone. There also was a request for a first floor room not by the elevator (due to sleep disturbances with my mental health & for the puppy). They advised they had this covered. I walked to my room & it was right in front of the elevator. I felt so belittled. I couldnâ??t believe it. The room was far away from the main entrance, was like a 10min power walk. Iâ??m glad I walked to it, because the wonderful Valet/bell men was going to deliver my bags. I hurried down and told him I did not get the room I requested. He apologized and felt terrible, I apologized to him. One because he delivers bags/valet parking & also works for tips to some extent.. . I let the manager know, she then said she had no first floor, 1 king bed & not next to elevator. She than told me she could put me in a double bed room, I said absolutely not we did not pay for that, it was guaranteed. I said please just find a king bed not close to the elevator. I said I have to let my dog out, so I waited 10mins or so. I came back in and the hotel line was so long at 10p at night. She finally noticed me and apologized for the room. I finally got a room 45mins later. Later in the evening I noticed my puppy going under the bed, I took a look. Well there was trash/crumbs/dust underneath it. Also the bathroom needed a new toilet seat. . . The best part of my experience was the valet/bell man. He was so kind, empathetic, sympathetic, and made me smile. He didnâ??t judge me and helped me with all my bags. Iâ??m grateful this hotel has him, he displayed the best customer service from this entire hotel.

Hotel Constance Pasadena – Menu with Prices – 928 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

I’m sorry, this place is strange, and I would recommend staying at another Pasadena Hotel. We stayed here as a “staycation.” The decor is like a strange blend of 80’s, 90’s and modern day but nothing gels. The biggest fail is every room (we asked) has a big glass partition/window that shows the shower area with frosted glass to cover a human’s body from view… but not on the top and bottom of the glass and that shower area blends into the bathroom/toilet area. So essentially what I’m trying to explain is whenever anyone uses the bathroom in the night and turns on the light, it FLOODS the entire room with light, and you can see that person’s feet walking around in the bathroom whether showering or deciding to use the toilet. Truly bizarre. There were signs posted EVERYWHERE that we were not allowed to bring in any outside food or drink. We did not follow this policy because that’s insane. Especially because the hotel had no regularly functioning restaurant (more below) and there’s nowhere to purchase any food or drink or water beyond the hotel bar. The fridges in the room are empty beyond two bottles of water (no minibar, not that I care.) Each room has a bottle opener in it… I have no idea what they think people are opening if they’re not supposed to have any food or drink, The hotel has a restaurant, but it seemed to have been transformed into a Chinese restaurant and did not reflect any of the current information the hotel had about it. Or it was YET to be transformed into a NEW restaurant and the hotel’s information was ahead of the game. Can’t tell. It also was creepily empty the whole time we were at the hotel (even on a busy Saturday night) until Sunday morning when a few people were having breakfast. Is the restaurant open? Not open? Nobody knows. My husband had attempted to get lunch there yesterday and was told “waiters are coming later.” There’s parking in the hotel, but you take a separate elevator from the garage to to the lobby and a different elevator to your rooms. That’s not a problem really… but we were disturbed by a set of double doors by the parking garage that were padlocked with metal rope. It seemed like a fire hazard and something illegal as it appeared it should be a working exit in an emergency. You also pass a strange electric bike-rental station that seemed to have been abandoned and looked tacky. Lastly, our television had a strange wire with a small camera attached to it sticking out from the side of the TV. I’m not saying this is some weird hotel where they film you…. but it looked ugly and out of place and also… they *could* have been filming us. We covered it with a washcloth.

Sheraton Sioux Falls & Convention Center – Menu with Prices – 1211 Northwest Ave, Sioux Falls

The Sheraton Sioux Falls has a great location for attending events at the Denny Sanford Center (connected to the hotel), but I found a few issues with our room and wasnâ??t overly impressed with the property overall.Location: Excellent. Itâ??s right off the freeway and easy to find, and directly attached to the Denny Sanford Center by walkway, so there is no need to even go outside. I didnâ??t see any restaurants nearby, but they have a bar and restaurant onsite. Service: Good. Check-in was extremely fast, and the employees were friendly and helpful.Room: Average. We had a two-room suite with a king bed and a pullout sofa on the 4th floor. There was plenty of room to move around, and it was relatively clean. However, there were a few issues with the room. Itâ??s kind of worn out (especially for this class of hotel). To start, we found two long hairs on one of the pillows. Thatâ??s somewhat understandable and sometimes happen, but the noise level was really bad. We were in the atrium section and could hear EVERYTHING going on in the lobby, particularly guests socializing in the lobby after the concert. Since we used the pullout couch (placed by the door), this made it very difficult to sleep. Other:- No free breakfast. Free Starbucks coffee available in the lobby though.- The atrium and public areas are absolutely beautiful. They really gave the property a modern and upscale feel.- We had a microwave and mini fridge in our suite, which I didnâ??t see on the website. Nice touch. – I also noticed a second building (Executive Wing) that did not have an atrium, so perhaps that is quieter than the atrium. This hotel is not a dump by any means, but it wasnâ??t anything outstanding. If I were to attend something at the Denny Sanford Center, I would definitely stay here again. However, I donâ??t recommend if you donâ??t have any other reason to be in this area.

Sugami Hibachi Express Menu with Prices 15434 E Mississippi Ave, Aurora

This place is terrible and it saddens me because it’s walking distance from my home. I walked over to order my dinner and at that time no other customers were in the restaurant. The owner? a nice gentleman immediately got up and greeted me . I checked the menu and gave him my order. I paid his wife? and asked if I could please have a glass of ice water while I waited . I don’t think the gentleman really understood me, his wife jumped in and said no water, I would have to buy a bottle of water. I explained that I just wanted a plain glass of ice water while my food was being prepared . She pointed to the glasses and said no I could not have any ice water while I waited . I would have walked out then had I not already paid. It was 80 some degrees outside and I just wanted a drink of water yet she was insistent that I buy bottled water. I mean really? I ordered 2 egg rolls and sesame chicken and walked back home to eat my dinner and have a glass of ice water! The sesame chicken could have been sweet and sour ckn with a few sesame seeds on it. The egg rolls were frozen I believe. Bottom line …….I will NEVER return here .

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Lancaster – Menu with Prices – 2400 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster

I can tell you that the DoubleTree Resort By Hilton Lancaster is clearly not a place I care to ever stay in again. The place is really crazy like no other. It’s sort of a wedding party hangout. They have their own wedding chapel as well as an on call duty minister to preside over wedding ceremonies. And because it centers around an event area used for wedding parties, be sure to get an outside room or you’re going to be listening to wedding party music all night long. When I checked in and went to my room, I found out everything had been left unplugged. That includes the television, the lights & etc. along with other connective wiring that was beyond me. So, back up to the front desk, got the usual apologies, a ticket for a complimentary breakfast, but the buffet type, not the sit down service type, and a new room. My room was actually very nice but involved a lot of walking and elevator riding as I think I was on the first floor and the reception lobby area and restaurant area are on the second floor. Sounds weird, I know, but that is the arrangement. One of the miserable things is that my hallway always had clutter sitting around in it. Trays with leftover food and scrapes along with baby cribs and luggage carts. Worse, they didn’t seem to go away but remained for over a day, then only to be replaced by more.

Aloft Detroit at The David Whitney – Menu with Prices – One Park Ave, Detroit

Gorgeous lobby but I really weird place to visit. Or maybe I just had a bunch of odd things occur during my stay. I arrived around 9pm on a rainy Sunday and I could see Valet inside playing on his phone and there were two cars in the valet cut out with no where else to park. So I parallel parked between the two cars. When I was just about parked another valet guy interrupted the valet on the phone and they both gave me this odd look. Phone valet guy then came out and took my name, not offered to help with bags, just took my name and gave me a ticket. Odd thing #1. I venture into the gorgeous lobby to check in. As Im walking up to the desk two ladies walk away the one with her face literally in the back of the other and they walk to what Im assuming is an office. It made more of a scene than if they both would have walked a normal distance apart. So another lady checked me in. Odd thing #2. So I go up to my room, it is ok. The bed was comfortable! I decide Im going to check out WXYZ bar that is off the lobby. The food is not great, I wouldn’t recommend that. Heading back to the room and Im going to lay it down for the evening. Go to put the deadbolt on and it doesn’t work. Odd thing #3 Im a little handy so I check and see what the issue is, the strike plate is off center with the bolt. If you lift the door up enough you can just get it to bolt. However, its a struggle in the morning to get it to unbolt. I did tell the receptionist in the am upon check out but if you have room 619, check the bolt before you get settled. The am valet guy was way more on the ball than his evening counterpart. The hotel is a good location for visiting Detroit. I didnt use the fitness gym but I did check it out and it is on the nicer end for a hotel.

Omni Jacksonville Hotel – Menu with Prices – 245 Water St, Jacksonville

Stayed a week at the Omni Hotel in Jacksonville Florida. The hotel itself was nice however lobby area could definitely use new furniture or a thorough cleaning of the current furniture. On both sides of Lobby, the furniture either was dirty had stains or showed wear. I gave the hotel a rating of 4 because of the cleanliness aspect and the fact that I had to constantly every day call housekeeping to request my room to be cleaned. All of the staff seem very friendly and personable. The restaurant’s food was very tasty. I do caution anyone who has an oversized vehicle that you may need to think about parking. We had to park on the hotel restaurant side in an open City lot in order to accommodate our oversized truck and trailer. For average sized Vehicles there is plenty of parking, a garage as well as an open lot in front of the hotel.

WXYZ Lounge Chesapeake – Menu with Prices – 1454 Crossways Blvd, Chesapeake

Overall, I really like this hotel. The modern look, clean lines, and minimalistic rooms are perfect for people who are tired of the other hotel chains. The room was absolutely stunning. We had a king bed with two desks on either side of a wall-mounted TV. It would have been nice to have 2 desk chairs instead of just one, but that’s just being picky. The room feels very spacious because there isn’t unnecessary furniture like big dressers and tv stands. This may sound silly, but I really like the color scheme; bright and vibrant, but not too over the top. BEST PART OF THE ROOM has got to be the number of outlets! I’m not even kidding you; there’s one on each desk (one that has 2 USB ports), one on each night stand, one on each wall on the side of the bed, and then one in the bathroom. These guys really know that people have multiple devices and that in other hotels, the struggle is real. The bathroom is laid out very nicely with a sliding door to give the toilet and shower privacy from the sink. The shower had very good water pressure and hot water so that’s always a plus too. The seal on the door for the shower isn’t the greatest so it allows a lot of water to spray out so make sure you’re careful when getting out. In that same area is the “closet” but it’s situated weird: only has room for 4 hangers (see attached picture). Also, there’s a weird shelf that doesn’t seem practical for anything other that skinny alcohol bottles (see attached picture). There’s a pretty chill area near the lobby with a pool table, rocking chairs, and a nice bar as well (called w xyz). Another cool thing is that they also have nightly entertainment starting at 8pm. It’s nice to go down and chill, but on the downside, you can also hear it in your room as well; not really that great if you’re trying to watch something on the tv or trying to concentrate while doing work. Another plus a of the hotel is that it is dog friendly. I sometimes need to bring my dog with me during work travel, so it’s really nice they have that. There is plenty of grass around the property (even though you’re surrounded by parking lot) to walk Fido. If you book ahead, be sure to try to get ground level to make it easier on yourself: we booked last-minute and we on the second floor so it was just a short elevator ride away. The on-site gym is always a nice plus even though equipment is minimal; at least it is clean. They have a few yoga mats, treadmills, bicycles, ellipticals, and free weights as well as a machine that allows you to select different configurations. There is also a water cooler there too. The indoor pool area seems nice enough but didn’t look like anything to write home about. All in all, I would love to stay here again if I’m in the area. The staff was very nice and accommodating and seemed very professional.
