If you are looking for a place to hang out to enjoy great coffee and simply exist, Deathproof Coffee should be on your list. The large industrial space is designed to accommodate bands at other entertainment. There is plenty of seating nearest coffee bar, including both tall tables with high stools, regular tables with regular chairs and a cozy corner with a couple of sofas at a table. Those in the mood to tickle the ivories will also be happy to find an upright piano along one wall. As others have said the bathrooms here are probably some of the cleanest in the valley. Now about food and drink. In my photos of this establishment you will see the recipe for the beverage I enjoyed which is called an Insomniac. To me, nitro Brew is an art form. Not everyone does it well – Deathproof coffee however, does. I paired my blackberry almond vanilla Insomniac with a white chocolate raspberry scone. The combination was delightful on a cosmic level. The gentleman who served us was delightful as well, knowledgeable kind and very friendly. My cohort and me enjoyed a couple of hours lingering over our beverages and food, as well as doing a little adult coloring. Deathproof coffee is very close to my home and I look forward to spending more time there. I’m especially interested in checking out some live music.

17 Hands Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1830 Kempsville Rd #104, Virginia Beach

While my family was visiting Virginia Beach we wanted to grab a coffee close to our hotel but wanted to avoid the big Seattle chain if we could. We looked for some local businesses and most of them were closed on Sundays. Odd. Well, 17 Hands was open and just around the corner so away we went. The AC was out so they about to close up but we managed to get our coffee. I got a nitro cold brew and it was wayyyy to strong for my liking. I drank it because I paid for it, it wasn’t bad, just too strong for me. My wife ordered a raspberry something, white chocolate maybe… not entirely sure. It was really good either way. The next day we stopped in before hitting the road and I ordered a peppermint mocha which was very nice. Next time I’m in the area I will get an extra pump of peppermint. My wife went with her raspberry whatever and again was very happy. Our daughter got an iced caramel with an extra pump of caramel and she was happy. My son wanted a fruit cup so we grabbed him one, but we also grabbed a savory ham and cheese scone, a chocolate chip scone, and a slice of chocolate cake with mint frosting. Cake, incredible. Very moist and the icing was delicious without being overly sweet. The savory scone is still sweet. It is delicious, but sweeter than I would like for savory… but I still ordered another one so clearly it was good. From what I could tell, the baked good are fantastic! I also grabbed a small bag of whole bean Colombian coffee, and the decaf Colombian. Both of which make very nice pour-over coffee at home. We also grabbed a coffee and a couple of scones for our friend down the road. She was very happy. The staff here is great. The owner is super friendly and has a great crew. I really hope this place does well.

24 South Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 24 S Front St, Wilmington

I love it here! Multiple choices around the area for coffee but I come here for specifically for my caffeinated beverage of choice. Nitro Cold Brew! I typically judge nitro brews against Starbucks as I personally feels they have been very consistent in the quality of their Nitro Brews. That being said, the nitro brew here is smoother and had a slightly lighter roast taste when compared to Starbucks. They also have it in a 24 oz which is awesome!! The store itself has a nice ambiance and the staff have always been friendly and accommodating. My wife has other coffee drinks here which have tasted good when she had me sip on them. Unfortunately, I don’t know the types of coffee/espresso they were lol! Definitely stop by for the Nitro Brew!!

Anchorhead Coffee Menu with Prices 555 110th Ave NE #101, Bellevue

Anchorhead Coffee opens in Bellevue, giving all other coffee shops in Bellevue a run for its money! I’m a fan of Anchorhead Coffee, so when I learned they were opening a Bellevue location, I knew it was gonna be my new jam. I set up a coffee meeting here and arrived early, so I could do some work with a coffee and snack in hand. On a weekday in the morning, the line was comprised of the Bellevue work crew, especially since Anchorhead is located by several tech companies, including Microsoft, in the same tower. Several people ordered their coffee to go, which worked out for me since I had plans of setting up shop at one of the tables. The space isn’t large, so if you plan to work here with a group, you may be fighting for a seat. I ordered the Nitro Mint Latte and a Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie. The Nitro Mint Latte is made with cold brew, milk of your choice and a housemade mint syrup. It was awesome! I really liked that it was made with cold brew, giving it a less-acidic and more smooth taste. The mint was abundant, but didn’t taste artificial. I chose oat milk with my drink, which I recommend. I would happily order the nitro mint latte again. And whenever I see chocolate with sea salt I just have to have it. Something about the salty flavor bringing out the chocolate! My cookie was soft and crispy on the edges, which was yummy. Glad to have Anchorhead Coffee in downtown Bellevue…and it’s open on the weekends and stays open ’til 7pm. They serve damn good coffee, make their own syrups, including Intrigue Chocolate for the chocolate syrup (and sell their chocolate bars!), and have small bites. I have my eye on the biscuit sandwich for whenever I need breakfast. But coffee is a must here.

Ryan Bros. Coffee – Menu with Prices – 40573 Margarita Rd, Temecula

I was recently in Temecula visiting some family. I seen this hip coffee shop so I thought I’d try it out. As I walked in the first thing I noticed was the custom coffee mugs on the wall. This coffee shop sells their mugs so the customers are able to decorate them and reuse them. Very eco friendly! I had the Nitro Cold Brew Vanilla coffee. It was delicious and not too sweet. They offered a few different Nitro brew flavors and I wished I tried them all. The menu was abundant, from a variety of coffee to breakfast items to lunch sandwiches and they even had some baked pastries available. What I liked most was that was a good amount of healthy choices to choose from. Again I wished I tried it all. I did order a turkey sandwich. It was on toasted sourdough bread, with cheese, spinach and an avocado spread. Delicious!! It came with your choice of chips or a balsamic spinach & cranberry salad. I chose the salad. The coffee shop was very clean, organized and the staff was welcoming!! I will be visiting again!

Mugsy’s Coffee Co M2 – Menu with Prices – 620 Dunlop Ln #123, Clarksville

One of my favorite…ok.probably my favorite coffee shop for coffee drinks in Clarksville. I LOVE that they have so many sugar free flavored syrups for you to choose from! My favorite, so far, is coconut! Love me some coconut. I usually get a scone too. Today I had a morning glory muffin…it was basically carrot cake without the frosting..loaded with carrots, raisins, coconut, walnuts and (I think?) pineapple. I’m gonna say something…and it may sound mean..but it’s not..I’m just being descriptive. The scones and the muffins I’ve had there are always very brown. Not burnt, but pretty brown. Carmelized. But guess what? THAT’S OK WITH ME! I am that person who likes the corner pieces, the cookies that are a hair overdone…that’s the way I like them. Only once has a scone been a little too done even for me…ONCE. I’ve had blueberry, white chocolate raspberry and apple scones. I think the white chocolate raspberry is my favorite. Their scones are hearty, not like those sad “I can’t decide if I’m cake or a biscuit” type scones some places serve. I don’t mind if you wanna sell me a blueberry muffin…just don’t try to pass it off as a scone because you cut it in a triangle. But, alas, there is a sadness in my heart..they’re closed on Sundays. If you’re wanting your Mugsy’s on Sunday…buy an extra on Saturday and heat it up on Sunday. Problem solved.

Commonwealth Joe Coffee Roasters Menu with Prices 520 12th Street South Suite 150 Suite 150, Arlington

…..and they know their stuff. They have nitro, drip coffee. You can get hot or cold brew coffee and they have some cute non-coffee based drinks to try. Some based in kombucha, and it fits appropriately in this cute coffee shop. You can get a growler of cold brew if you are so inclined. I feel kindred while rolling my eyes at the dude ahead of me trying to fashion a caramel macchiato-tini thing. Dude, it’s coffee and you have a choice of leaving room for milk in the cup or not. Keep it moving, dear.. I have spied board games in a back room that is curtained off and I imagine they have some secret-handshake-members board game Sunday where they drink only nitro cold brew in pint glasses. This place is a quirky, solid place for really good coffee and nice folks.

Yellowhammer Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3249 Dauphin St, Mobile

Today was my first time at YellowHammer Coffee. I will definitely be a regular customer from now on. The quality of coffee is far superior to other places I’ve been. You can tell they’ve done their homework to get the best taste around. The coffee shop is small with three barstools inside and one small table outside. They also have a drive-through which I am going to get quite familiar with soon. They really know what they’re doing here and can answer all your questions. Searching for the perfect coffee? Search no more, it’s here. The “Nitro cold brew” is super strong and smooth, if you need a jolt of energy this is definitely the ticket. One of my personal favorites is the “Blondie”, it has a mix of vanilla and caramel served hot. This is not something I thought I would like (I don’t normally like sweet coffee)but I absolutely loved it. I’ll be back for more. Of course you can’t go wrong with a regular cappuccino or latte, but for another sweet option the “Mocha frappe” is fabulous and a sure way to wake you up. They make their’s with four shots of espresso, which is perfect (most other places usually only use 1-2 shots). Because of the extra espresso, their’s is a little less sweet than the others – which I prefer. Five stars!

The Kidd Coffee Co. Nitro Bar – Menu with Prices – 525 Vine St, Cincinnati

I cannot sing the praises of Smooth Nitro Coffee enough! If you are a coffee (or tea) drinker at all you’re sure to love their cold brew and teas that are infused with nitrogen. Think of how creamy and delicious nitro beers are….now imagine it’s delicious cold brew that’s just as creamy and smooth! BOOM! Mind blown! All of their nitro cold brews are not only delicious, but they are under 100 calories. I honestly can’t pick a favorite. I love them all. They will let you sample as well to find what suits you. I love to mix Dark Side (dark chocolate) and Buzz’n (Hazelnut) to create a Nutella flavor. Mmm! The location is a nice central spot downtown right across the street from Fountain Square. They are in the Huntington building on Vine Street on the first floor. Just walk around the corner and you can’t miss them. I should say I would love this product no matter what, but it’s made just that much better by their incredible staff members. I honestly feel like I’m going to visit friends when I stop by on my lunch break. They truly couldn’t be any nicer and are all extremely knowledgeable regarding their products. Stop by the next time you’re downtown, or check out their Facebook page because they sometimes serve at festivals and events around town as well.

The Macon Baking Company – Menu with Prices – 4524 Forsyth Rd #204, Macon

My mom, daughter and aunt recently visited the (fairly) newly opened Macon Baking Company on Forsyth Rd. We went on a Friday afternoon for a little sugar pick-me-up after a day of shopping in Ingleside Village. We were instantly greeted by Dan, the owner, with complimentary chocolate mousse cups! Little bites of heaven, according to my daughter. The ‘cups’ were edible chocolate and were filled with a light-as-air chocolate mousse and topped with a fresh raspberry. The display case was full of delightful looking confectionary creations such an oreo wrapped in a chocolate chip cookie, wedding cookies and ‘cruffins’-a cross between a croissant and a muffin. However, full disclosure, we were there for the macaroons. Not the type most Southerners are used to eating made with pecans and coconut. Real.French.Macaroons! Macon Baking Company had an entire state of the art, cooled, display case for these little treats. The flavors that day were raspberry, pistachio, lemon, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. For those of you that don’t know, a French macaroon looks similar to a sandwich cookie in that it is two halves with a jam or cream filling. But that is where the similarity ends….the halves are made from meringue, so they are very light and crispy. Each macaroon at Macon Baking Company is about two bites’ worth. Our party tried the raspberry, lemon, pistachio and chocolate. They were devoured and we even got some to take home! Dan visited with us while we enjoyed our treats, and he was so personable and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. It made our little sugar refueling stop that much more memorable! I will be stopping by the Macon Baking Company again!

Reputation Beverage Co- Lansing – Menu with Prices – 800 E Michigan Ave, Lansing

Geez oh man. Don’t get me started. I’ve been here twice and have been supremely disappointed both times. The first time, drinks took forever to make, weren’t great and the food truck fare was so-so. However, I live nearby and really want this area to be successful. So, I went back last week. I intended to get an iced coffee thinking it was a safe bet. Upon visiting I found out they don’t have iced coffee, but they do have cold brew. For $4.50 or nitro for $5. The man working there talked me into the nitro since he gave me a sample and said it was award winning. He’s correct, it was good. But that’s where it went wrong. I asked for him to leave room for cream, and he suggested coconut milk. I agreed. Then he rang me up. It ended up costing $6.09. Where’d that extra dollar come from? Apparently it was an up charge for the coconut milk. He never mentioned an up charge and just added it without my approval. I was so angry I was speechless. I’m kicking myself for not saying something. In conclusion, I will absolutely never go back, and I buy coffee at Strange Matter or Blue Owl at least once a week. Crafted Bean lost a potential regular, and I would strongly suggest you travel down the street to Strange Matter unless you want to spend SIX DOLLARS AND NINE CENTS FOR A COLD BREW.

Peet’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 13307 NE Hwy 99 Suite 115, Vancouver

I was extra thrilled about this place for two reasons: 1) This was the first coffee shop I have been to that had coconut whipped cream – yay! Being allergic to dairy, this was a huge bonus for me. 2) The young gentleman there was so friendly! Overall great customer service. I ordered a medium iced vanilla latte with the coconut whipped cream on top and a lemon ginger poppyseed scone. The coffee was delcious! The scone, however, was good but tasted like it had been sitting out all morning and I wasn’t asked if I wanted to heat it up. Unfortunately I was so hungry that I was halfway through the scone by the time I even thought, “this would be way better warm”, but I am pretty sure it wouldn’t be sanitary for them to heat up my half of a scone ? Flavors were still good though. Only other complaint is that the outlets are few and far between and the one that I did find wouldn’t hold my charger inside of it.. I had to literally ask my mr. nice coffee friend for some tape so I could tape my charger into the outlet to hold it to the wall. Possible fire hazard? Maybe, but it worked!
