This place is a bit hard to find, the entrance is a Hot Pot restaurant under construction. Look for the B-Won Shabu & BBQ All You Can Eat place (I think it used to be Moodaepo according to the other Yelp comments since this shabu place is under construction and not in operation yet), the door will be open with signs saying Ddoong Ggo is open, but you have to walk through the shabu place to the back left. To find the B-Won Shabu place, just look for the 99c store: it’s tucked in a corner! When we arrived, there were only 2 other occupied tables in the entire place and barely any waiting staff (there was literally one dude). It was really quiet, but the ambiance and decor is very fun. Cool little red chairs and metal circular tables. Alright, now to the fun part. What we ordered (table of 7): 1. Cheese spicy chicken The famous cheese spicy chicken! They bring you a tray of chicken, rice cakes, french fries, and a whopping pile of cheese over a small flame. You get to mix them all together and watch the magic that is cheese melting over the goodies. The chicken was not that spicy actually and the fries were very wonderfully seasoned. What I found as a pleasant surprise was actually the rice cakes. The rice cakes from this dish ended up being my favorite rice cakes out of the whole meal since they were cooked in a way that made them crispy on the edges and the sauce they were soaking in filled them with delicious flavor. 2. Corn Cheese You can’t go to get Korean food without trying to find/order corn cheese. This dish was a great combination of savory and sweet flavors: savory from the hot plate, seasoning, and herbs, while the corn and cheese add some sweetness. It was so good everyone dug in before I got a chance to take a picture (see my photos of the half demolished corn cheese plate… and people digging in WHILE I was trying to take the photos…) 3. Seafood and Green Onion Pancake I thought the crispy texture and flavor was good, however I bit into a piece of squid (which I should have expected, duh SEAFOOD PANCAKE) and no longer wanted to eat it because I personally don’t like squid and certain shell fish (muscles, clams, scallop…. they make me super sick). I think my body did not react well to this dish since I spent all last night throwing up and the thought of the squid alone made me throw up. SORRY TMI, BUT THIS DISH WAS DELICIOUS PROBABLY FOR EVERYONE ELSE BUT ME 4. Egg Roll Ohhhh this heavenly piece of UNF. I’m not even a HUGE fan of eggs or omelettes, but this egg roll was super good! They bring you a giant wooden board of this majestic long boi already cut into shareable pieces. There’s no way someone could eat this entire thing by themselves. It comes with little trays of ketchup or Tabasco sauce (whichever you prefer to dip your eggs in). When you bite a piece, you can see and feel that this egg has been rolled at least like 15 times as each layer peels away. It’s a super cool and unique dish and I found it delightful. 5. Grilled Small Intestines Okay, if y’all follow me on Yelp then you already know how I LOVE intestines (especially small intestines). Tripe tacos, Pho, KBBQ, etc. The way that they make their grilled small intestines here is FANTASTIC. Don’t knock it til you try it! The dish is absolutely FULL of deep flavors and the intestines are made in a way where it’s not chewy, but sometimes crispy on the edges. Halfway through digging into this dish SURPRISE we found there were GLASS NOODLES in the center soaking up all that good good sauce. What a wonderful surprise. This was easily my favorite dish and I literally dug through the entire plate trying to find and eat every little small intestine I could find. 6. Spicy Rice Cakes (tteokbokki) with noodles The CLASSIC. Spicy Rice Cakes aka Tteokbokki also comes with boiled egg, fish cakes, and we asked to add ramen noodles to it (my personal preference). This dish was actually way better than other tteokbokki that I’ve had before. I

Misako Asian Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 4701 Shore Dr #113, Virginia Beach

First visit since Misako moved to Shore Dr. I had extremely high expectations based on the reviews, history from previous location & was really looking forward to this visit. I don’t think I chose my dishes wisely. We started with appetizers: * Gyoza – Thin wrapper possibly pre-made. Meat was proportioned. Flavor was acceptable for the quantity, cost, and it being an appetizer. * Calamari – HUGE pieces of squid tail and tentacles were falling out of thick tempura batter. Dish was mostly batter with huge hidden chunks of squid. Least favorite dish. Main entrees: * Szechuan Spicy Beef Ramen – broth was delicious, flavorful, and had the perfect spiciness. My favorite dish so far. Beef was tender. Noodles were rice noodles, not egg noodles. I prefer egg noodles. There were way too many noodles. If I could’ve ordered only the broth, I would have. * Chicken Teriyaki – no sauce. Bland piece of chicken breast, a scoop of rice, and bok choy. Glad I tried. Maybe I’ll try again another day.

Myungrang Hot Dog ëª?ë?? í?«ë?? – Menu with Prices – 2550 Pleasant Hill Rd #300, Duluth

I’m growing to like Myungrang Hot Dog with each visit. I’m giving it a 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. Myungrang Hot Dog is a new food stall that opened up in 2018 inside the Duluth H-Mart on Pleasant Hill Rd. They do not make hot dogs on a bun, but rather specialize in Korean-style corn dogs (a popular streetfood and currently found in mukbang videos, apparently). It’s also important to note that Myungrang Hot Dog is NOT located in the H-Mart food court. It is not to be mistaken for a similar food stand, “HotDog King” in the H-Mart food court which also sells corn dogs. I have tried the corndogs at “HotDog King” and Myungrang Hot Dog has much better corn dogs – they have nailed the batter perfectly. Myungrang Hot Dog is found on the very left side of H-Mart when you walk in. There is no seating area there so you can either eat your corn dog on-the-go as you’re shopping or head back to the food court and eat it there. The menu is simple and very affordable. Corn dogs are $2-$4 and the hotdog meat is mixed beef and pork sausage. Only the premium beef hotdog is 100% beef. Vegetarian options would be the RiceCake Hotdog and Mozzarella Hotdog. Their menu includes: -Myungrang Hotdog: just a regular corn dog with sausage (you can request spicy sausage as well) -Mozzarella in the Dog: this is a corn dog where the top and bottom halves are separated into sausage and mozzarella (so if you bite into it, don’t be surprised if it’s just all sausage or all mozzarella at first!) -Cheddar in the Dog: this corn dog actually has the sausage surrounded by cheddar -Rice-Cake Hotdog: instead of sausage meat it’s rice cake -Premium HotDog: the only corn dog with pure beef hotdog instead of sausage -Potato in the Dog: corn dog with potatoes surrounding the outside batter -Squid Ink & Mozzarella in the Dog: I believe this one is also separated into two halves with mozzarella surrounded by squid ink in one half and sausage surrounded by squid ink in the other half -Mozzarella HotDog: no sausage, just pure mozzarella. I guess you could think of this as a giant cheese stick. I do not eat pork so I have only tried the Premium Hotdog and the Mozzarella HotDog. I think Myungrang HotDog stands out not only because of their menu options, but also because of their batter. The batter on these corn dogs have a perfect, crunchy texture. It’s subtly sweet but not overwhelming. The sizes of these corn dogs are pretty large. I thought the Premium HotDog is okay. It’s what you would expect from a corn dog. The Mozzarella HotDog has an awesome cheese pull. Definitely insta-worthy. I am not sure what kind of mozzarella they use because mozzarella is already a mildly flavored cheese but in this case it is even moreso mild and subtle in flavor – so don’t expect this to be big on cheese flavor or for it to taste like an actual mozzarella cheese stick. The texture however, is amazing and really enjoyable. My friend ordered the Cheddar In the Dog and thought it was okay. Not going to lie, the first time I came here, I was not blown away; I just thought the corn dogs were okay. I don’t eat a lot of corn dogs in general, or maybe my palate is just not accustomed to Korean-style corn dogs. But the more I come here the more I like it. That Mozzarella Hotdog is my favorite so far and keeps me coming back. I’d say this place hits the spot if you are craving corn dogs, if you want some kind of fried snack, or if you just want something to munch on while shopping at H-Mart. When they give you your corn dog they will ask you if you want it rolled in sugar. This can add to the flavor of your corn dog, but I do not recommend it for those who do not enjoy sweet and savory together. There are also condiments to add to your corn dog, such as cheese mustard, ketchup, parmesan, spicy mustard, cheddar sauce, etc. Myungrang HotDog also runs the same stall as Busan Fish Cake Bakery, where they sell rice cakes and a variety of fish cakes.

Gom Shabu Shabu – Menu with Prices – 3502 Satellite Blvd, Duluth

Thanks to this place, purple makes my mouth water. If you don’t get it, you need to give this place a try! Gom Shabu Shabu has a special place in my heart. The warm purple broth, the mound of veggies and thinly shredded beef will always be my go to when I need to recover from a cold, or just warm up in general. Each person is given a stove and pot to cook however they wish, whatever they wish! There is also 2 sauce bars; guest bar for diy sauces, and employees if you trust them to make yours for you. I make my own because Im the best sauce maker. The sauce bar consists of cilantro, garlic, green onion, jalapeno, white peanut/sesame sauce, chili sauce, chili oil, ponzu, and other bottled sauces. In my honest opinion their white sauce is the best in the area. so good! For the meats you can order a variety of things, like beef, premium beef*, chicken, pork, lamb, and seafood. each protein comes with a mound of vegetables like napa cabbage, spinach, purple cabbage, corn, bok choi, broccoli, sweet pumpkin, sweet potato, along with a sausage, crab imitation, fish cakes, tofu, rice cakes, an egg, and rice noodles. Its alot, but no refills! They also bring a bowl of fresh bean sprouts for the table too. This is refillable. We always get the premium beef which is served frozen and shaved into little rolls. The only reason I take one star off is because lately the beef has been getting way too thin. Before, the beef was a little thicker so that it would hold its shape even when it melted. But when I went recently, it was so thin that it would just break apart into pieces when it melted or cooked. Normally one order of beef was enough for me but I ordered another one because i was still hungry :(.. Hopefully that will change soon, but either way I will always come back here.

Oseyo Shabu Shabu – Menu with Prices – 2879 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Found this shabu shabu place and based off the yelp reviews I ended up dining here. First off, the parking lot is tiny. 1/4 of the parking lot is dedicated to the liquor store and the rest is a free for all unless you park on the street. Second, the placement of the burners are a little weird. You have your traditional tables and the bar… but there’s also these two separate islands where they face each other. It’s kinda weird. To the shabu shabu – I ordered a sukiyaki base with a large angus prime beef which is considered the leanest beef. The beef was great quality. The base however was very very light – almost bland. Also the sauces that accompany every shabu shabu is sesame and ponzu. The sesame sauce was way off point and it tasted like mayonnaise with a touch of sesame. Also, the assortment of vegetables was plenty BUT there was no refill on vegetables except for ONE refill on the cabbage. Someone else in my party also ordered a bulgogi bibimbap. It was average and the bulgogi was also very lightly marinated. Overall, between the light/bland food, $16 lunch price, lack of vegetable refill, and off tasting sesame sauce, I wouldn’t come here again. If you’re in the mood for shabu shabu, better options are out there – travel a little bit further to Tokyo Shabu Shabu on Lake or farther to AYCE shabu shabu in Rowland Heights (mo-mo paradise).

Piri Piri Chicken – Menu with Prices – 7722 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond

This place is super yum! I came here 3 times and missed a 4th while in town for a week and a half if that tells you anything. And that’s odd for me since I like variety. I think the half chicken is a great option – great price and lots of food: rice, beans, 2x corn/chile muffins, and a delicious half of a chicken!! Rice is usually blah but Piri Piri’s is good such that you actually want to eat it. The chicken – awesome! Especially when doused with their sauce. If you ask for hot sauce they’ll give you the piri piri sauce…which is great but on only slightly spicy. Tip: ask for the hot, hot sauce which is kept in the back because “not a lot of people ask for it” (I just don’t think they know about it). That one is actually spicy. I got the burrito too since I was told it was popular. It is very good but it doesn’t let the quality of the chicken/restaurant standout. My favorite part of visiting was Monica at the front. She was fun to banter with and super nice!

Shabu Shabu Kyoto Japanese Restaurant Menu with Prices 627 156th Ave SE, Bellevue

Went here for lunch with my colleagues and we were greeted and seated right away; it’s nice to have a place near work that doesn’t have insane lunch rush every day. We started off with the Spicy Chicken Kara-age. It was absolutely outstanding; perfectly crispy on the outside, very juice chicken on the inside and a coating and sauce that was beautifully seasoned and spiced. We would have loved to order more of it for sure. I got the Rib Eye Sukiyaki while my friend got the Rib Eye Spicy Miso Shabu Shabu and we shared both. We also got a side plate of Wagyu that we shared. The Sukiyaki is immensely flavorful and as the sauce reduces and cooks down and coats everything, each bite becomes a symphony of flavors in your mouth. The only downside is that most of the veggies and noodles in the sauce get very overcooked very quickly since they are all already in the skillet; I think the next time around I will pull them out in time. Dipping in a raw egg seems a little scary at first if that is a flavor and texture you’re not familiar with; but move past that apprehension and do it; you will not regret it. The hot beef that was cooked in seconds when dipped into the egg along with some cabbage and then eaten with rice is just a very unique experience and it’s hard to describe how delicious it is. The Spicy Miso broth is outstanding. It’s HUGE portion and can easily be shared among two people. The veggies and noodles are all on the side which is great because them you can cook a few at a time like a regular hot pot and you don’t have to worry about overcooking. They give you a Ponzu dipping sauce as well as Sesame paste. Make sure you dip in both; they are excellent. The Rib Eye itself is actually quite good and the portion sizes are generous. The Wagyu beef is a league of its own and it’s basically like butter that will dissolve on your tongue; if you are ok with a little splurge for the experience, the $30 for a side plate of Wagyu is definitely recommended. Overall the food was phenomenal, the service was excellent and the ambiance was really nice. I’d most certainly be going back here and strongly recommend it.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 10326 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park

Pretty good food. I haven’t been to too many Korean restaurants around KC so I can’t really compare but I’m satisfied with what I got here. Service was good. Can’t complain. Received the wrong dish but promptly fixed so no problems with that. Prices are a bit high but food was tasty. We ordered the Gochujang Bulgogi which was my favorite dish because I love Bulgogi and the spicy Gochujang sauce was right up my alley. Sweet and Spicy beef basically. We also got the squid also dressed with a similar type of sauce and enjoyed it as well. We ordered the seafood pancake as an appetizer and it was sizzling and crispy yet light. In addition, we got the chicken cutlets which looked like chicken katsu. It came with a side salad on the plate which was nice because everything else was hot and spicy. The chicken itself was delicious and the sauce was a nice contrast to everything else we had. In addition, you get Banchan which is a staple at Korean restaurants. They are refillable side dishes that normally include Kimchi, Pickled Radish, Kimchi radish, and other things. Therefore, you will never leave hungry since you can get as much as you want for those. Probably won’t be back for a long time since there are other Korean restaurants to try in the Overland Park area. This place is solid though and would recommend!

Shabushabu Mayumon – Menu with Prices – 115 Division St, New York

I absolutely love the concept of Shabu shabu omakase and appreciate the different take Chef Mayu has on foods that we are familiar with. The food is creative and very tasty and she uses different cooking techniques that really showcases different cultures. Every ingredient used is incredibly fresh and there is a lot of thought put into the menu. I’ve tried their omakase during their pop up and came recently during their soft opening and was really happy with how their menu has transformed into something even more refined and special. The appetizers are delicious and I especially loved the shrimp caviar with the usage of yuzu. It was so well balanced and the yuzu really brightened up my palate. The shabu shabu is of course the star of the meal and it certainly does not disappoint. The Miyazaki beef is absolutely amazing and melt in your mouth. Each of the sauces the meats are dipped in really brings out the flavor of the ingredients which are all made in house. Aside from the shabu shabu the clay pot rice is another of my favorites and is a delicious pairing of mustard leaf and baby sardines with fluffy rice and a creamy poached egg. The combination is just out of this world. I highly recommend this place and it really is a great experience. Service is wonderful and food is even better!

Smokin Chikin – Menu with Prices – 1820 Tiny Town Rd Suite A, Clarksville

I really like this place. It’s too bad I don’t live near it as I would frequent it. I ate there with my wife and two children. Cashier was super nice and helpful. On top of lots of variety of sauces for your chicken, they have lots of well chosen sides that I feel would allow most to find something that suits them. My wife got pulled BBQ Chicken with Island Fried Rice and Mac & Cheese. She enjoyed everything but the rice (to be fair, she isn’t a rice fan in general). I got 1/4 White Chicken with Jamaican Jerk sauce (OMG, AWESOME!), Island Fried Rice and Loaded BBQ Chicken Fries. As a lover of rice, I was pleasantly surprised as the rice was perfectly cooked. If you like a little heat definitely get the Jamaican Jerk sauce! With that being said, we were most impressed with the kids meals. They got pulled chicken spread on top of mac and cheese on a plate. It was SUPER yummy! My wife and I each stole a bite from the kids. If I’m in the area again, that’ll definitely be one of my sides.

Taste of Sichuan – Menu with Prices – 515 State St, Madison

This is the same restaurant as the old Soga Shabu Shabu if people are unable to locate it! 3.5-4 stars. I’ve only tried their hotpot and nothing else, but am a big fan of it. In Madison, there aren’t too many options for hotpot. Here, the portion sizes are great, and half and half (spicy and non-spicy broth) is always the best option for sharing. Their prices are better than Double-Ten if you’re not big eaters and share one combo with another person and it is located right on state street. Their vegetables are plentiful and fresh and all of their fish balls are always delicious. I also like that the veggie plate doesn’t come out obviously frozen. The one downside is the sauces. The sauce options are much better at Double-Ten and they have unlimited noodles. Here, I feel that the sauces are left out all day under the fluorescent lights and I wish that they were put on ice (I personally love spicy and don’t really need sauce anyways, so it’s not really too much of a problem for me). They also include a free small dessert bar, which is a thoughtful gesture. I haven’t tried any of their other dishes, but it seems like family style eating. Prices can get a little high for the other dishes, I’ve noticed, but I really can’t comment on how good they are. All in all, this is my go-to for dinner in Madison if I’m craving some hotpot.

Corporate Deli Menu with Prices 600 108th Ave NE Suite 10, Bellevue

I got the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki to go for lunch today. It was actually quite nice. The chicken is moist and tender with a crisp sear on the outside and is packed with flavor. It’s one of the few places where the “spicy” was actually spicy(I’m Indian and I love my spice). The portions are huge with generous amounts of chicken and a massive mound of rice. I wish the rice was seasoned because the thick spicy sauce doesn’t mix in quite evenly. I added some soy sauce to the rice just for seasoning. It also comes with a simple side salad and you can pick between ranch and Italian dressing. Over all a super quick value for money meal. Nothing fancy, just plain solid grub.

Chihuahua Charlies Cantina Menu with Prices 5835 Interstate 20 W, Arlington

Ok-so I’ve been there twice in one month now…and both times service, although GREAT, is just a little slow. The tables are dirty and it seems like they are understaffed…that being said, however…their food is YUMMY!! Let me just say that green salsa is DA BOMB! But NOT for the faint of heart!! It’s spicy, but the flavor ir amazing! The chips and thin and just the perfect amount of salt. The red salsa isn’t bad either, I just really prefer the green. First time I had the fajitas. Not bad! Not the best I e had, but definitely not the worst! They were moist and tender and flavored well. I can’t speak for the rice and beans personally, because I don’t eat rice and beans-but my friends that had them said they were delicious! My other friends had the poblano enchiladas, the chicken bowl, and the flautas. My friend raves about their Elote. I also don’t eat corn, but it looked delicious! The second time we went, I had their menudo. Definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food, the history of the restaurant and was super attentive. My 4 yo son had their queso (that’s his staple at all Mexican Restaurants) and their cheese enchiladas with the beans (no rice)…he LICKED the plate, so two thumbs up from the 4 yo. My husband had the poblano enchiladas with beans and corn, also licked the plate! Needless to say we will definitely be back!!
