I tried out Coffee Baby for the first time today! It was really nice to find a coffee shop to study in Gainesville on a Sunday. There’s plenty of windows with great lighting, lots of seating, and I counted many outlets. They played late 90s/early 00s music, which threw me off guard at first because it’s not music I associate with coffee shops, but I ended up loving it(I grooved while studying)! They are still getting the shop in order and the owner seemed a bit stressed. He was really nice and friendly, and talked us through the menu. I ordered an Irish Car Bomb latte, a flavor based off of the one of The Brownie Guy’s flavors. It was very sweet, and very delicious (ask for it less sweet if you’re not into that!). You can definitely tell he’s using high quality ingredients in those drinks! My friend ordered a drip coffee and a lemon poppy seed muffin, and she liked them both fine. I overheard the owner talking with another customer about drink recipes and their opinion, so I’m sure he values any input you have. I can’t wait to see what the finished product of this shop looks like, and I will definitely be back to try the gourmet brownies. They’re getting 5 starts for their enthusiasm and potential!

French Truck Coffee – Menu with Prices – 650 Poydras St Suite 102, New Orleans

I am not a â??coffee aficionado or expert, I just know what I want and what I love. Anyway, before we start walking around the beautiful Garden District, we stopped by at this coffee shop. We ordered Iced Mocha Latte, Oji drip Iced Coffee, â??and a â??muffin. Iced Mocha – This is my usual order in any new coffee shop that I visit, it becomes my baseline. For this particular location, their Mocha Latte is different from other Mocha Latte that I have tried. The combination of mocha and espresso give this sour taste, I think the roast of the bean is light to medium with fruity undertone which I don’t mind but not my favorite. They also put a lot of ice, but I think you can just ask them for less ice. Oji Drip Iced Coffee – The process of making this coffee is a separate attraction which you can see over the counter. The coffee itself tastesâ?? like a combination of some kind â??of tea and fruit flavor, truly not in my alley but it was a â??refreshing taste for the summer heat. Muffin – I totally forgot the name, but the softness and deliciousness of it stayâ?? with me. It was just a â??perfect pick-me-up muffin. Space – They do have a good amount of tables and chairs, where you can hang out with your friends, working, studying or just people watching. All in all, it was an okay experience, coffee was refreshing not my favorite but the muffin was amazing. I recommend to give them a try, you will have your coffee fix and an Instagramâ?? post.

Bug & Belle Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3712 W 32nd Ave, Denver

I’ve tried a lemon strawberry muffin, the cinnamon roll on weekends, quiche and the ham and cheese roll. The rolls are nice if you prefer a savory breakfast. One roll is plenty big and satisfying. Nice chewy texture with crispy cheese and ham. The lemon strawberry muffin was delicious. I prefer a dense muffin and this one was a nice mixture of dense and light. The lemon was a beautiful flavor with tart fresh strawberries. The muffin was perfectly sweet without being overbearingly sweet like many muffins out there tend to be. The cinnamon roll was perfect. I really enjoyed the frosting. Hopefully they can add the frosting to some of their other baked items such as the muffins. Quiche was really nice seasoning with Asparagus, fontina and ham. Lee delicious only suggestion would be to have a heavier crust as it was very delicious. Finally a nice bakery that’s in the ‘hood, Highlands!

Heine Brothers’ Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3541 Outer Loop, Louisville

Okay so I told myself I was going to come to this location a couple times before writing a review. I have been here twice now and I feel that with both my experiences I am comfortable writing a valid review. So this location is brand new. I think they may have been open a week or two now. My husband and I went in over the weekend. This was our first visit to this location. We have been to the Bardstown rd location several times and we love it. He always orders the caramel macchiato with extra caramel. It’s a super easy transaction. So we came in and he ordered his usual, the girl was trying to explain the drink and the manager (I think) stepped in and tried to explain that there macchiato differs from places like Starbucks. She said she can make one like them, but there’s were different. He said okay and that was that. I ordered the latte and once again they explained the drink. We also ordered a lemon poppy seed muffin and a chive and cheese scone both warmed up. I feel there was both good and bad here. As I mentioned I also came a second time because I wanted to have a good foundation considering they are so new. So both times staff was extremely friendly. The manager was great and all but I feel that when she was explaining the startbucks was of making the drink it confused him. Also just a few minutes prior to that she was leaned up against the counter on her phone. It looked extremely unprofessional, so I didn’t appreciate that. Let’s move onto the taste, although my husband was not overly impressed with his drink he said it was good but would have preferred it his usual way. Mine was pretty awful. It was so bitter it was almost hard to drink. I do understand a latte is very bold, but as mentioned before I have always loved this drink from the other location, it is all I have ever ordered. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and will take it as a learning curb for them. The other issue I had with my drink was that it was not filled to the top. It has a good couple inches before the brim so I was a little disappointed. I was not at all satisfied and felt that hadn’t even had any coffee so I went back up and ordered just a coffee and that was really good. The food however was great! The lemon poppy seed muffin was sweet and moist. The cheddar chive scone was my favorite. As a matter of fact when I came back I ordered that again. On my second visit I ordered a traditional coffee and scone and I was very pleased. During the first visit we came during the late morning. The location seemed very inviting and warm. During the second visit I came in the early morning. The parking lot was so dark and a little eerie. Not only are there no lights in the parking lot, but there was not light on the window showing open. I kind of just took my chances by walking up, but I was a little nervous walking in the dark. Okay, so we have covered staff and taste, I want to move onto looks. This place is decorated so cute! They have both inside and outside seating. When you first walk in you can see how open and clean it is. They have a display of their merchandise and coffee on the wall when you walk in and it is so neat and organized. The seating is also amazing, the have a short table with four chairs that is perfect for really sitting back and relaxing. They also have several traditional height tables, and several high top tables. The decor really offers a calm cool coffee house feel. Overall I feel satisfied, but also feel that they still need a little time to get into the swing of things. I am giving them 4 stars and I would say this place is worth checking out. I think that in another few weeks or so I will try the latte again, and see if it has gotten any better.

Offbeat Coffee Studio – Menu with Prices – 2620 Clinton Ave W Suite 1D, Huntsville

Met up with a friend to try this new coffee shop in the city. A very cool atmosphere with a cool selection of vinyl. Was not able to spend a lot of time looking at it but was full of 60s, 70s, 80s music at a really good price which is always a bonus for vinyl. They play music on their turntable which was a nice touch to the scene. Very nice staff who immediately helped me out as this was my first time. I went with the first choice of drip coffee that was on their menu. They didn’t have prices next to it, and I was a little surprised by the price when I paid. If I had known, I definitely would have gone with one of their lattes which was similar in price. However, it was a delicious cup with bold taste so did not mind too much. One of the cooler shops I’ve visited in the city. They have a cereal coffee that seemed very good and interesting. Definitely will be back!

Katy’s Corner Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2000 E Union St, Seattle

I came here because my name is Katy. But I really didn’t enjoy this place. I ordered a cheese and spinach muffin. It was flavorless and doughy. I asked for it heated and it was still doughy. Where was the spinach and cheese in the muffin?? My friend who literally eats everything wouldn’t eat more of it. I also ordered a hot chocolate with coconut milk because I’m lactose intolerant. The barista thought I had said hot mocha and gave me coffee with coconut milk. My body can’t handle coffee. I had to ask for her to remake the drink, I felt bad about it but she was nice and offered. The barista then proceeded to mess up my friend’s order too. He bought trail mix but never received it. The prices are a bit pricey, for a small hot coco and muffin I spent $9. The breakfast sandwich took 15 minutes to make but it was pretty delicious, still not worth $6.50 though. The ambience of the place was pretty chill, with sofas and lots of sunlight. It was a Saturday morning around 9:30am and there were about 5 people in the small cafe and sitting outside on the benches. The barista kept loudly complaining about a girl named “Katy” (probably the owner of the shop) to a customer and how she sexually harasses people? She said she “slaps everyone’s butts”.

Drip Coffee – Menu with Prices – 729 Saluda Ave, Columbia

This was another successful find thanks to Yelp. After making a Costco run the next thing on our agenda was to find a good coffee shop and I rather support a local business than go with Starbucks. So that’s how we found Drip, it’s was such a cute little hipster coffee shop, downtown Columbia just minutes away from the breathtaking University of South Carolina. There was a bit of a line and inside was packed ( which is always a good sign). But service was still pretty fast and very pleasant. I ordered my dad a vanilla latte which he said was really good and it even came with a cool coffee art and i went with a chai latte which was amazing! This was just a fast in and out run but Drip had such an inviting atmosphere, I totally got Pacific NW coffee shop vibes ( with cool artwork and such hung throughout) and their music playlist was on point. I can see why Drop is a local gem.

Anne’s Cakes – Menu with Prices – 4825 Trousdale Dr #232, Nashville

I want to start by saying, Anne is one of the most genuinely nice people I’ve come across. This immediately made me want to come back, and then there’s the fact that she makes some of the most delicious desserts I’ve come across. I first tried one of her desserts when visiting a local coffee shop. What caught my eye is that the muffin was labeled as “skinny” and also that it was lemon. Yum! I flipped it over and looked at the ingredients. All things I could identify and pronounce, always a plus for me. Anyway, I purchase this muffin and it was so deliciously good and moist. You’d never know the substitutions. Fast forward, my sweet boyfriend had a birthday recently, and I really wanted to get him a nice cake. I read the reviews for Anne’s and realized these were from the same place of the delicious muffins I keep purchasing. He originally asked for lemon but I kept reading “best strawberry cake”. We both love strawberry and honestly hadn’t found a bakery that makes a great Strawberry cake in nashville (until now). They use fresh strawberries. No preservatives. It’s a light pink color. Always a good sign! So I brought the cake into his work. Everyone literally said it was the best cake they’d ever had. And I agree. I’ll definitely keep Anne as my go to baker! She’s amazing!

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 3110 Mt Pleasant St NW 1st Floor, Washington

Dang! They really know their ice cream. Every time I swing by here, I’m always very happy with the selection. They always have new flavors and they’re always super unique. The ice creams are very creamy and smooth. You can taste the real fruit in the sorbets. My favorite flavors: Brigadeiro: if you like a smooth chocolate with toffee, you’ll like this one. I like some chocolate with more fruity ice creams and this is my favorite one they have. Blueberry Basil sorbet: I looooved this one. It really does taste like fresh blueberries, and the basil contrasts with the berries to give it a unique twist. Lemon Poppy and Berry Swirl: Lemon is so refreshing on a hot summer day! This one is such a nice combo of lemony tartness and a sweet creamy berry. I also love the texture that the poppy seed add to the creamy ice cream. If you like different textures, this one is worth trying this summer. Real Strawberry: The magic is in the simplicity. No explanation necessary! You can tell they use real strawberries. So yummy. Waffle cone or cup? I’ve tried both. Obviously, the waffle cone is the better option, but if you want to be safe in the hot weather, opt for the cup. Lol I know I did when I wanted three scoops. Oops! Ambiance: it’s a small parlor with lots of light. They have some space inside to sit by the window. You can also sit outside. Service: they’re always really patient and let you try all the flavors you want! Fun fact- you can check the DC location on their website to see what their flavors are right now. Final Verdict: the quality of the ice cream can’t be beat! So glad I discovered this little gem.

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4949 New Centre Dr, Wilmington

This is the cutest local chain coffee shop there ever was! I am in love with a good coffee, but a good coffee with a mission behind it? Sign. Me. Up. Not only is the vibe exactly what I want in a coffee shop, it’s got good coffee. Bonus! This one is a little hard to find because you look like you’re going to go and buy a Cadillac at first then you realize the coffee shop is next door. Once you figure out you don’t need to purchase a car you can breathe easy and get your heart pumping on caffeine. This space is so clean, bright, and white. I want to sit on my computer and work all day in there. The employees are the nicest and so upbeat. I ordered a chocolate muffin and a brown sugar cinnamon iced latte with almond milk (no soy). The coffee was good – too sweet for my taste but the name sounds sweet so I get what I asked for. I am interested in buying some coffee beans once I’m ready for more and can’t wait to brew it in the pour over!

A Cup Of Common Wealth – Menu with Prices – 105 Eastern Ave, Lexington

Stopping by to try this new coffee shop in town, I felt like I was cheating on my first love- TEA. In the last couple of years, I have started to acquire a taste for good coffee so when I saw this place pop up on yelp, I made sure to give it a try. Walking in, I noticed the bare minimum decoration that others have noted. The place can definitely use a bit more decorative touch but their friendly staff members definitely make up for what was missing. I enjoyed being welcomed right away by both people behind the counter. They very friendly and genuine. They talked to me about their “pay it forward” board which I think is a great idea. Next time I come, I might put a friend’s name on the board to get them try this place. For this visit, I ordered a small cappuccino and a small cinnamon apple breakfast muffin, though it was already well into the afternoon. The muffin was the right size snack to go with the perfectly prepared coffee. I didn’t have any complaints. I hope they start having a few more options of small baked goods, because everyone would enjoy something sweet with a great cup of coffee!

Happy Goat Coffee Co. (Rideau/Cumberland) – Menu with Prices – 229 Rideau St, Ottawa

From the surface this is a very nice looking space but it is not a practical coffee shop to study in or read with the loud punk and pop music playing on a regular basis. I’ve dropped by a few times when in the area but it’s always the same. It’s great if you are into that but I myself find it a bit too much and very distracting. How anybody can work on a serious project or delve into a book without putting in earplugs is beyond me. Their coffee is alright, nothing special; at $3 for a drip coffee though you would at least hope that the barista would have some knowledge as to what is being brewed and how it tastes. This could be improved on in the future.

Poppy Seed Bakery and Café Menu with Prices 3910 W Hill Rd #102, Boise

I drove by this place for months – doing a double take each time – before I decided to pull over and try it out. And I am SO glad I did! I stopped in today for a cup of coffee in between errands, and the five minutes I spent in here made me want to come back soon. The curb appeal of Poppy Seed will lure you in, and the charm it has inside will make you want to open a book and stay a while. They have an upstairs loft seating area that overlooks the rest of the cafe as well as a few spots to sit on the first floor. Behind the counter you’ll spot a few kitchen aids and other kitchen utensils that the owner, Kim, uses to home make all of the pastries that they serve. (I didn’t try a pastry today, but I had my eye on their blackberry poppyseed scone – I’ll be coming back for that!) Today I tried out their lavender white mocha, per Kim’s suggestion. I asked her to make it a little less sweet than they normally would, and it was perfect. The lavender sort of balanced out the sweetness of the white chocolate, and the espresso flavor came through in a sublte but delicious ways. Super yummy! I’ll definitely have this again, although I’m thinking next time I’ll try out their rose mocha – it might just be me but I think that sounds DELICIOUS. But then again, I work at a flower shop so I guess it’s no surprise that I enjoy floral notes in my coffee. ? Next time your driving along hill road, I highly recommend you give these guys a try! (They’re closed in the latter part of the afternoon and on Mondays, so keep that in mind.)
