I don’t eat gristle. If I am paying for meat, I don’t want the chewy hard gristle. I stopped by this cart after a round of mini golf. Bought a carne asada burrito for 5 bucks. I was really looking forward to it. The burrito was cold. REALLY cold. Like it had been made hours before and handed to me because, hey, look, a burrito has been sitting here and some chump just ordered one. Secondly, It was mostly rice, onions and gristle. The rice was bland. The onions were rank and the gristle was gristle. Every bite was a chore. I ended up pulling most of the “meat” out and putting in the bag provided for this monstrosity. The red salsa was tasty, but the green salsa had spoiled. It had swollen in the container. When I finally gave up trying to eat the so called burrito, my bag was filled with enough gristle for another burrito. Had I put the bag in the garbage at Cunados, it might have become one. DO NOT GO HERE!

Tacos y tortas san bernardino – Menu with Prices – 331 9th St # 7, San Bernardino

I feel KINDA bad about rating this place two stars after coming here and NOT trying a Torta (I mean, it IS called Tortas, Las Glorias after all). Anyway, I went with a carne asada burrito instead of a torta, and wasn’t rewarded for doing so. The burrito is filled with beans, cheese, rice, meat, onion and cilantro. My impression from the first bite: did I order an all rice burrito? Second bite: Dang! This meat is SALTY! Third through tenth bite: where’s the cheese in this thing? Overall, there is way too much rice in this hefty sized burrito. There is a generous amount of meat, but it is all way too salty to enjoy. Bite after bite, I searched for the cheese, but never found it (from a flavor standpoint, I did SEE the cheese in the burrito). Couple the taste of the food with the area in which the restaurant is located (in a sketchy part of San Berdoo) and I’m saying you can get way better Mexican food in the area. I’ll still come back one day to try a Torta (cuz’ I like to be thorough), but based on my first impressions, it’ll be a while before I give that a try.

I Wana Moka Menu with Prices 3100 Old Fairhaven Pkwy, Bellingham

I don’t usually eat breakfast, but decided to have a breakfast burrito this morning. Yelp provided the perfect answer, of course! Saw the reviews and it was close. Asked the person at the window what kind of breakfast burrito they have, and informed me ham or sausage. I choose ham. The attendant asked if I’d like salsa with that, and I replied, please yes. After a few minutes, the arm came out of the window with a small/medium foil-wrapped burrito. And I drove away. When I got home, I noticed they didn’t include the salsa as requested. Grabbed some taco sauce from the fridge and tried it. I could taste that it was okay, kind of bland, and was not freshly cooked. Just assembled. I gave the lower rating because the asked if I wanted salsa and left it out. and they could try to put any kind of seasoning or even some green onions/chives into the burrito. I had hoped for better service and flavor.

Pinch a Taco 2 – Menu with Prices – 5005 S MacDill Ave, Tampa

I was on this side of the Bay and came here on a whim for lunch. I grew up in Southern California, where burritos and tacos are abundant. It’s simple, flavorful, quick, and delicious and cheap. After living in Florida for 6 years I’ve pretty much given up on Mexican food… until now! The menu is simple. A few meats to choose from and you pick your delivery method (taco, burrito, torta etc. My first time here I had 5 tacos, a variety of carne asada, pastor, pollo asado, and shrimp. All 5 were magnificent. The meat was fresh and flavorful, served on a corn tortilla (flour is available too), with onions and cilantro. I got them to go and got both red and green salsa. After one bite I knew I finally found a taco shop. A few weeks later I had a carne asada burrito. It was. A similar experience as far as nostalgia. Beans, meat, guacamole, pico de gallo, and a little lettuce. I think I’d prefer tacos next time, but the burrito was amazing none the less. Both times I washed my meal down with a large horchata. It’s a sweet cold cinnamon rice drink. Trust me, you can’t go wrong. I’ll definitely be back soon, and looking forward to trying their ceviche.

Tacos El Pollo – Menu with Prices – 3696 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

I came here on a late night with my boyfriend since he wanted a burrito. He ordered a Carne Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado and a soda, which was a little over $5.00. When his number was called, they gave him a side of avocado, a side of rice and a side of beans. When I saw his bag, I went to the window and told the guy taking orders (in Spanish) that he had ordered an Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado. He tried to argue with me that my boyfriend had only said rice, beans and avocado. The guy said that it will be extra for the burrito so I told him it was ok, so he charged plus $3 and some change. When we got the burrito and then got in the car, I told my boyfriend to grab a bite off the burrito because I had a feeling that they had NOT added the meat. And there it was… blend burrito with rice, beans and avocado and NO MEAT. So we basically paid almost $10 for a simple rice and beans burrito. Good location, bad customer service.

La Parrilla Mission Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 7372 Mission Boulevard Suite 104, Riverside

The parking lot looked busy, so we decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly – they all looked very busy. I ordered a taco combination plate. It said 2 tacos, beans and chips. Mine came with rice, which I preferred. My husband ordered the chili rellano combination plate. Both came with a soft drink. I ordered a carne asada burrito to go. The server brought us a variety of salsas and chips. A red tomato salsa, a tomatillo salsa(best flavor), an enchilada type sauce and another yellow green salsa. These need work. They need some heat, salt – something’s missing. The server checked on us and I asked if we could get our sodas and then she additionally checked on us 2x more while we waited for our food. The chili rellano plate came first. The cheese was not melted on the inside, the server told us it’s because it’s queso Fresca. Didn’t matter because it still was cold inside. The homemade tortillas are yummy! Rice and beans were ok. Nothing exciting – seem to be missing something. My food still hadn’t come, so I asked when it was ready could I just get it to go, they said sure. Called me over to get it at the counter and I reminded them about my “to go” burrito. I sat back down and waited for it to be made. They did not offer and salsa to go which is ok since I didn’t care for it anyway. I tried my tacos once I got home. The meat needs seasoning. They definitely needed salsa. My son had the burrito- he said the beans need help and the meat needs seasoning too. He was bummed we didn’t get salsa. All in all, I wanted to love this place. Maybe I’ll give them a few months and try later. I’m giving 3 stars because they were trying hard.

Tacos Melano’s – Menu with Prices – 623 E 6th St, Corona

We ordered a wet burrito (green) and carne asada nachos and we were severely disappointed. The nachos did not have nacho cheese but a big glob of cheese melted and then cooked to the point where it was fried and hard on one side. The beans on the nachos were plopped down in one big mound on one side along with the rest of the toppings. But the real offense is the wet burrito. The green salsa is thin and bland and barely enough to classify the burrito as “wet”. There was cheddar cheese and raw tomatoes added to the top of the burrito for some reason. There was no crema or sour cream on top or came with the burrito on the side. There was hardly any meat or anything else inside the burrito except a lot of folded-over tortilla. I know its not super expensive, fancy food but man this was sad. You can’t put stuff like this out there. Especially when there are a 100 good Mexican places within 5 miles of this location.

El Bajio Mexican Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 555 Gateway Pl SW Suite A, Cedar Rapids

The reviews, the location (it was directly across the street from the hotel) and the fact that I was craving Mexican helped me to choose El Bajio. I went in and was immediately seated. I thought I was at a rock concert it was so loud in the place. Kids everywhere screaming, yelling, chanting, whatever little kids do they were doing it. I decided to block it out and breathe in the El Bajio experience. My server was prompt, although very rushed so I ordered quickly and he was gone. I decided to get the combination platter as it was the cheapest with the most food (taco, burrito, enchilada, rice and beans). I asked about modifying the burrito by putting green sauce instead of cheese on it and he said no problem. While I waited for my meal, I at the chips and salsa. While I liked the chips, the salsa was not my favorite. Something tasted off about it. Not that it was spoiled; it was just a flavor I didn’t enjoy. Good thing my food came promptly or I would have started in on the salsa. I was surprised it came so quickly as they were extremely busy; however there was no green sauce. I couldn’t really say anything because they were so busy, I was hungry and the noise was drying me mad…so I ate it. The food was okay. Nothing out of this world. It was typical Mexican food. What was amazing though was the price. This must be the reason they are so busy as it was the cheapest dinner I have had in a long time for the amount of food I got.

Rio Pupuseria – Menu with Prices – 3848 E Chapman Ave suit C, Orange

Had this bookmarked for awhile and finally went. The price is reasonable for a Pupuseria at $2.99 each plus tax They were of good size and flavor. But just took forever to make my order almost 25 minutes which is why they got 4 stars. I was the only person in the store and I think they may of forgot about me while they filled some phone orders. I ordered 4 pupusas and only received a small 1/2 full bag of the cabbage mix and 1 little container of salsa which when I asked for more I felt like she didn’t want to really give me any more as she only handed me 1 more but I returned the tomato based one as I would not of used it anyway and I did ask for 2 more of the little cups of the hot green salsa as I told her that one little cup would not be enough for what I ordered the cabbage mix didn’t even cover all of my pupusas so it really was not enough compared to other places I have been but for $12.89 I should of not had to fight for more salsa and I should of asked for more of the cabbage mix if I would of looked at it. I drove 30 minutes to try this place Don’t get me wrong the pupusas were great the service and the amount of salsa and cabbage mix not so much. The green salsa was hot and flavorful. Just not a lot of it in a 1oz container. Which each one just barely covered the pupusa would of liked a little bit more I know that salsa costs money but I never ask for any more than what I will use and if I am paying for your food I would expect to have enough of everything provided to me to complete my meal! I even returned the silverware and napkins to help them save money as I was just going home with the food anyway All in all I would return if I am in the area! As the food was really good! But I would again make sure I was provided with more cabbage mix and salsa next time and would definitely call my order in

Tacos El Compita #2 – Menu with Prices – 7622 Westcliff Dr, Las Vegas

I only come here once or twice a year but today was terrible. Ordered a carne asada burrito with everything: onions, beans, rice, and cilantro. The meat was hard and cold. The beans were so mushy that they didn’t even have their bean shape at all. They all just mushed together like mashed potatoes. I like onion but the chunks were so big in it, it wasn’t enjoyable and I had to pick them out. The quality was so bad that I’ve had a stomach ache for about 7 hours that hit midway eating the burrito and still going. Not food poisoning, just a piercing stomach ache that has been lasting all day. I dined in and when I finished eating, I placed a to go order for friends. I noticed the asada in the to go order took a lot longer to cook (about 3x longer) than my original burrito making it evident they served me old, cold meat the first time. Considering I even tipped despite not being server service and you pick up your food at the counter, it was unacceptable. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Super Mario’s Menu with Prices 3008 Northwest Ave, Bellingham

Went to Super Mario’s for lunch the other day and ordered a veggie Wonder Burrito. I was the only one in the store and waited about 10 minutes for my food. I heard the bell ring, looked toward the kitchen and saw my burrito waiting in the window between the kitchen and the register. I approached the counter and waited for the person manning the register to pass me the burrito, but no one was there. The cook had seen that there was no one at the front, and instead of bringing me my burrito disappeared into the back. 5 minutes later (after much internal debate about whether or not I should jump the counter) the man who took my order reappeared and handed me my burrito. After telling my husband about this incident, he informed me that the same situation happened to him when he’d gone there previously. This neglect may have been forgivable if the burrito was good, but that may have been the most disappointing part. I expected to have a nice mix of veggies, cheese, beans, rice, and avocado, however the the first 4 inches of this monstrosity contained nothing but bland stir-fried veggies that tasted like Chinese leftovers from the mall. Upon discovering the rice, I was disappointed to see that there were only 3 bites. Abysmal experience. That being said, the food truck is consistent and delicious. If you want Salvadorian food, head over there.

Guanatos tacos – Menu with Prices – 44540 S Grimmer Blvd, Fremont

This place is awesome. I work close by this truck and have never given it a shot until recently. I was really craving a breakfast burrito and I decided to try this place because I saw on their menu that they had one. I approached this truck and was instantly greeted. Everyone was really nice and explained to me that there were different kinds of breakfast burritos. I ordered a breakfast burrito with everything in it (not the chorizo). As I was waiting for my food, she asked if it was my first time here and I said yes. She then gave me a sample of their Barbacoa meat. That was so good! I wish I could’ve ordered that in a burrito instead. It was super flavorful! When I got my burrito and took it to work, I took a bite and instantly fell in love. Their salsa is great too with a small kick to it. I will definitely come back, especially for that Barbacoa meat!

Bell Street Burritos Menu with Prices 1816 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta

Well, I’m done giving Bell Street the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the lack of meat in their burritos. The lack of substance rolled up in that foil is borderline criminal considering the price. Today’s lunch will likely be my last here. I’m so tired of handing over my twelve bucks plus for a tea, a handful of terrible chips and a grilled (extra charge) burrito full of beans and rice. I mean it’s literally 90% pintos and white rice with a sprinkle of cheese and a dab of salsa followed by a search for a bite containing a trace of meat. If I wanted beans and rice, rice and beans, Dave Ramsey style, I’d make my own at home for a fraction of the price. If you decide to pay to add extras (sour cream, cheese dip, etc.) just know it’s often difficult to determine if they even put them in the burrito. On more than one occasion, I’ve ripped open my burrito for a manager to aid me in finding the meat. The manager remade the burrito, and told me to ask for him to make my burrito when I come in. I tried this a few times and it actually worked, but should I really have to ask for my food to be prepared by the manager to get decent value? Perhaps this is merely a quality control issue in the kitchen, or maybe it’s just a standard practice by the owners to maximize profits by filling the burritos with the cheap beans and rice. Speaking of getting what I’m paying for, the posted menu price hasn’t always matched the price on the register. When I questioned the cashier about this on a previous visit, he said they just hadn’t updated the menu to reflect the current prices yet. He couldn’t honor the posted menu price. Are you kidding me? I will say I’ve had their bowls with sufficient meat for the price, so I don’t know if the lack of meat is just an issue with the burritos because you can’t see what you’re not getting until it’s too late….especially if you order takeout or delivery! Goodbye Bell Street Burritos!
