This location is right by my work which is perfect for when I forget my breakfast or lunch. I normally only get a bagel and cream cheese, breakfast sandwich or the soup and salad combo. The sandwiches are always great! The bagels they put way too much cream cheese on for my taste. I usually just scrap off a good about at work. The soup is hit or miss. Some of the soups are bland and taste like they have been sitting awhile. Others have more flavor and are fairly good. The gals there are quick and very nice! I Over all this is a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat if you are in a hurry. The staff is great and the food is good. ?

Whollygreen – Menu with Prices – 1090 – 2600 Portland St SE, Calgary

If you’re looking for a quick lunch that isn’t fast-food look no further…This little hidden gem is worth stopping by if you’re in the area. Today was my second time stopping in at the Tuscan Soup Garden and I must say I’m having a hard time restricting myself to the occasional trip with it being so close to work. The menu is mostly sandwiches, wraps, and three or four soups for the day. Today’s special was a mexican taco style wrap that sounded delicious – seasoned ground beef, sour cream, salsa, corn, and an assortment of vegetables. There were four soups today but I saw the broccoli cheese and nothing else registered after that – they had my favourite so why look at anything else? They warm the tortilla so that it rolls properly, they don’t have to wrap it in foil or paper like other places because it stays in shape on its own! The wrap is stuffed as much as possible and today’s mexican taco style was delicious. Well seasoned, fresh produce, and great salsa. The soup was fresh, balanced and creamy. The meal is produced so efficiently that I had plenty of time to sit back and read a book while eating before the short walk back to work, without feeling rushed. Just pleasantly stuffed… I only get a small soup or they would have to roll me down the drive back to work. Delicious, quick, and healthy. I am glad this is the closest place to work, they will see me often I’m sure!

Fresh Start Market and Espresso – Menu with Prices – 3020 Center St NE, Salem

I used to love going to this place for a quick breakfast. But we went today without having gone for awhile and the quality has gone waaaaaaaay down hill. We ordered a plain bagel, toasted, with cream cheese and a bagel sausage breakfast sandwich. The biggest issue was the breakfast sandwich. What we got, was a microwaved Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwich. This is obviously not a bagel sandwich. Also, even if I had been okay with a biscuit sandwich, I definitely don’t want a gross, greasy, msg filled, microwaved sandwich. But even the plain bagel with cream cheese was a failure. The bagel itself was terrible. It was thin, dense and very dry. When they toasted it, it got even drier and was burnt in places. And the tiny serving of cream cheese they provided barely covered one side of the bagel. This was a huge let down. However! I do have to say, I went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and got a black bean burger that was very good. So, go ahead and give it a shot for lunch, but for breakfast, you are better off just buying something in the frozen section and microwaving it yourself. It would probably be cheaper and you’d at least be able to pick out something you actually want.

The Prairie Soup Company – Menu with Prices – 425 Second St. SE, Skywalk Level, Cedar Rapids

We love coming here taking the Skywalk from the library. They make the best split pea soup ever! But I’ve only had it once because it’s not a regular item. I also love the Caribbean chicken soup but again, only had it once. Our regular lunch is usually a grilled cheese that my picky toddler and I share. I also get the roasted red pepper soup and he loves the chicken noodle. It’s a great spot and the staff is very nice and you can sample all the soups you want! And don’t forget to get toppings on your soups! We usually get Parmesan and croutons. Yum!

Khobkoon Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 7452 Foothills Blvd # 150, Roseville

I came in because I was craving Thai food and this was the only one open at the time (around 8:30pm) i would say that it’s just okay. Having worked in a thai restaurant for nearly three years I just had high expectations. The soup was a no go. It was fancy with the fire to keep it warm and what not but the taste was bland, much too watered down for me. I was expecting the punch of the flavor I usually get but it just wasn’t there. The entree though was great! I didn’t expect much after they messed up the soup. The Thai basil dish can easily be messed up if they overcooked the basil. But the dish I recieved was delicious and flavorful and with just enough kick of spice. Therefore going off of my experience, I recommend the stir fried entrees but definitely not their soups.

Center Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2677 N Main St, Santa Ana

Can this lady be any sweeter? I mean c’mon!! I even had a co-worker say “that lady downstairs is too friendly for this early in the morning”… he was joking of course. She is a sweetheart! They do not have a fryer or a grill, just basically a “George Forman” type of thing… but it works! Bacon is still crispy, eggs are not runny, sandwiches are melty. They work their magic with what they’ve got back there. I love the Coach’s Pick; turkey, avocado, bacon, tomato, and Swiss cheese all melted in a long bun. Filling! Bacon and Cheese Quesadilla (no sour cream, no salsa for me), such a yummy treat! Bacon & Egg Breakfast Burrito (again, no sour cream, no salsa for me); this comes with a crispy hashbrown pattie, eggs, cheese, bacon, all rolled into a tight burrito and then, for the perfect touch, they Panini grill the outside for a nice crispiness. One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had! Wide variety of salads, soups of the day, fruit smoothies and specialty coffees. There are daily specials to tempt you too! Besides all the yumminess on the menu, there are grab-and-go items such as chips, cookies, ramen, oatmeal, juices, sodas, first aid items. Located in the bottom floor of the Main Street Town Center and only open until 4:00 pm. Indoor seating and a few outdoor seats as well. The building has a nice courtyard seating area you can also enjoy. Thank you and cheers!!!

Coteâ??s Portland Café – Menu with Prices – 1 Portland St, Portland

This is one of my favorite lunch places in Portland. The prices are reasonable, the food is really good and the customer service is some of the best around. If you go there enough, they will remember your name and greet you warmly. It makes all the difference sometimes. Everything is homemade and it shows. There are usually two new soups every day. I always check the website because they will post their daily soups and the mac and cheese of the day. The variety of soups is wonderful. I had the Southwest Chicken and Lime soup today. It was spicy and I’m glad I got the warning before buying it. The soups are always flavorful and well seasoned. I haven’t had a bad one yet! Plus, they give you a freshly baked savory biscuit to dunk in your soup. They have freshly prepared sandwiches. I’m partial to the chicken salad or the curry chicken salad. It’s really tasty and you can go for either a wrap or a selection of breads. I highly recommend the burrito bowls. For around $8, you can get a big container of rice, lettuce, beans, sour cream and your meat of choice. You can also get them meat-free and they are just as good. There are a bunch of add-ons for an extra fee including guacamole, extra sour cream, and roasted corn. The burrito bowls are so filling and it’s money well spent. I have yet to try the salad bar. It’s pay per pound and they have a variety of container sizes so you can get a big salad or a little side salad. The veggies all look fresh and there is plenty of variety to make any kind of salad you like. Breakfast is pretty straightforward. I like that you can get a bagel with cream cheese for about $2. If you aren’t a cream cheese fanatic, I would recommend asking for it to be on the side because they will give you a ton. They cook eggs to your specifications and they aren’t microwaved, but cooked on a real stove! What a novelty! Be aware that this place will be crowded during early morning hours and lunchtime. You may have to wait in line, but it will move quickly. I highly recommend stopping by 1 Portland Square and trying it out! I promise it won’t disappoint.

Giancarlo’s Sports Bar – Menu with Prices – 1865 Commercial Dr, Vancouver

Went here for the second time in the past year when I was in the neighbourhood. STILL a great place to grab a $10 soup and sandwich!!! Hearty soup and yummy sandwiches. Usually 1-2 soups made daily with like 8-10 sandwiches choices. This time I had the Lentil soup( just like mama used to make me), and the Turk sandwich( turkey, cheese mayo, lettuce tomato grilled like a panini, delish! My mom had the chicken salad( chicken cucumbers tomatoes, peppers, goat cheese and a tasty vinegrette, she looooooved it! Thanks for being a chill, friendly place to visit , just like cheers, you get all characters, it is “the drive” of course!!!

B-rads Bistro Express @ 677 Menu with Prices 677 Broadway, Albany

B-rads is a small establishment inside of 677 Broadway in downtown Albany. It’s a place to grab breakfast or lunch and there’s soups of the day and daily specials – a nice variety. It’s great especially for those who work in downtown Albany who want something a little different than just your typical sandwich or salad. I had the maple chipotle BBQ chicken wrap. It’s listed on the menu online–not at the location. It’s made up of chicken with a sweet & spicy sauce, cheddar cheese & fresh, crisp coleslaw on a regular wrap. I requested greens in addition. The chicken was fresh and tasty, the greens were also fresh. I expected a little more flavor based on the name, but it was still a decent wrap. It’s a few bucks more than the other lunch stops in the area, but it’s definitely worth a second, maybe even third, trip.

Bagel Station Inc – Menu with Prices – 129 Oakwood Dr, Winston-Salem

He said: Winston-Salem seems to just give and give, and what better way to wrap up another visit than to grab some bagels on the way out of town? We beat the crowd and got great, quick service on a Sunday morning. This place beats out so many others we’ve tried on our various travels that I’d like to pretend those others never happened. The bagels are super-fresh and the cream cheese is smooth and tasty. My only knock is finding the cream cheese oddly buttery. To be fair: She got no such flavor. All-in-all this place nails it. I got my usual: a sesame with cream cheese and a poppy without (so I could put one half on the other to get just the right amount of spread) and was really happy with it. This was a great stop before the short drive home. She said: Despite the absence of a pumpernickel bagel (my favorite), Bagel Station was definitely a great choice for a quick bite on the way out of town. I chose the wheat everything bagel (toasted) with cream cheese, and the bagel had the right consistency inside and out. I liked the cream cheese, too. It wasn’t super thick, so it didn’t coat the inside of my mouth as I ate, and it was the perfect amount. We did get some hot water for our tea for the ride, and the carafe holding the hot water had previously had hazelnut coffee so the water tasted a bit like hazelnut. We managed, but it made the tea’s flavor not-so-great. We’ve found that it’s hard to find a really good bagel place, so we’ll happily visit Bagel Station whenever we’re in Winston-Salem. Potty Points: No trip to the potty for me on this trip!

Sweet Tomatoes – Menu with Prices – 12601 SE 2nd Cir, Vancouver

jeez where to begin…. the salad bar was ok, the romaine looked old, and some ingredients looked pretty crusty, however there where no meat options to put on your salad whatsoever. when i got to the cashiers booth there where 3 girls standing there talking. one of the girls was servicing the other side of the booth. i had to stand there for about 5 mins, long after the lady had serviced the other people, with occasional glances from the other 2 before being rung up. my total came to $29 for 2 adult meals and 1 kids meal +a drink. i go over and put my things down before grabbing my tray again, and heading to the soups. they had a wide selection of soups however none of them looked very appetizing and if i’m being honest look like they came from a can. i settled for the big chunk chicken noodle soup. to put chicken in the title is an understatement, it was basically a bland chicken broth with noodles and get this oNe PiEcE oF cHicKeN iN tHe eNtiRe pOt. ONE. like how do you call something chicken noodle soup when you put ONE PIECE OF CHICKEN IN IT. anyhow, the next section over has some pizza and some bakery items… i see the pizza and grab some, later to find out that it tastes like cardboard with a sprinkle of cheese. even my kid didn’t want to eat it because honestly i wouldn’t even feed that pizza to my dog. next up on the disappointment express was the pastas, brace yourself for impact and get ready to eat kraft mac and cheese. yup you heard me right, i paid $12 to eat kraft mac and cheese. there where 2 other pastas next to the mac but both looked ready for the garbage, including a grey mushroom something or another, and some spaghetti and store bought tomato sauce, let’s just say i passed on those. i wasted my money on this place and would definitely not recommend. honestly i wish i just went to olive garden and gotten some soup and salad there. anyways beware of this place and save your money!!!

La Lecheria: New Mexico Craft Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 101 W Marcy St, Santa Fe

My husband and I passed by this ice cream joint while strolling around downtown Santa Fe. The place and the flavor looked so inviting. We ordered the ice cream flight. It comes in 4 flavors. It was alright. I’ve had better organic ice cream with unique flavors. However, considering that I am in Santa Fe, I liked their green and red chile flavors. They don’t have that many flavor selections of ice cream. I didn’t think my experience in this place was very friendly. First, the girl that was helping was in a hurry. I felt like she wanted me to hurry up and pick my flavors. I haven’t been in this place before and I wanted to sample a few flavors. The sample size they give you to try was so small . This is probably the smallest sample of ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. I felt like she was so stingy! Seriously, the sample wasn’t even enough for me to taste the ice cream!! It’s that bad! So I sampled the green chile, peach and cardamom, and the miso red chile. I wanted to sample another one since I’m getting the ice cream flight. The girl then said, their max is only three samples. WHAT A JOKE?!!! Not only that, she was so stingy with the samples, she was also stingy with how many samples you get. WOW!!! The ice cream wasn’t all that. It’s not like a very popular place like Salt and Straw that they have to treat their customers bettet. I’m sorry I might be a little bit “extra”, but I’ve been to so many ice cream places that are way more friendly, gives generous samples and can sample as much as you want. I mean c’mon their max is three to try??!! Give me a break! I wouldn’t recommend this place to go for ice cream. Not only for their bad customer service and rules, but tlhe ice cream wasn’t that great. I would walk a couple blocks to go to Haagen Daz instead. Their ice cream is even way better!
