Iâ??ve been eating at the Gators Den for years – every time Iâ??m in Gainesville in business. Itâ??s connected to the Best Western so its very convenient to have so close after a long day of business meetings. Very tasty food (and Iâ??ve tried pretty much everything on their menu). My favourites are the â??smothered chickenâ? and their chilli. The wings are good as well. For desert try the raspberry cheesecake – itâ??s good! The service is actually fantastic! The wait staff are all young – probably college kids – and they are very motivated to ensuring that each customer is happy… it works! I always tip large because the kids that work there try so hard – thatâ??s important.Itâ??s always a pleasure eating at the â??Denâ?? and I recommend it whenever you happen to be in the Gainesville Florida area.

Dugout Billiards & Sports Club – Menu with Prices – 3501 SW 2nd Ave, Gainesville

It’s a dive bar in Gainesville. Nuff said. But it’s a fun place to visit. As a Californian living in Missouri now, I’m becoming sensitive to cigarette smoke in bars – that’s the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the stench of the bar from the smokers. I guess it’s unavoidable in a divey sports bar, but I was still bummed out. The cliente at the bar was quite…eccectic- your typical local-yokels and swamp people, some college kids from UF, a couple of bikers, a cougar or two, and a few drunk Vietnamese guys talking in Viet at the bar. USA truly is a melting pot – everyone was getting along! This actually gave the bar some character and made for some good people watching. Beers were good and generous – and the bartenders are cute local ladies. Very friendly and not overly pushy like some of the Cali and NY barbacks. There were darts and pool tables aplenty, and TV’s all over showing multiple games. They play Top 40 music, so it was a bit odd to hear “The Fox” in the bar amongst all the locals and biker peeps. Overall, fun time! I’d recommend checking it out if you’re swinging through Gainesville!

Tropical Sno – Menu with Prices – 6630 W Cactus Rd Suite 114B, Glendale

I normally don’t leave reviews. As someone who works in customer service and regularly gets rated on it I know how detrimental they can be when they are not good. We have gone to this establishment several times and Have always had a good experience until tonight. After taking my kids to uptown jungle we were driving by and decided to stop. The lights were on and there was no hours of operation posted that I could see and the door was unlocked so we walked right in. The kids started picking out their flavors and we stood there for 2 to 3 minutes well a young girl who work there Sat on her phone standing against the counter. Finally a young man walked up and said sorry we are closed. I thought this was very odd due To the door not being on locked. Typically that is the 1st thing that is done when the store closes. I then went and looked up the store on Google to see their hours of operation because they were not posted on the door and sure enough it was closed. I did not expect them to serve me Past closing because I understand everyone wants to get home but it was definitely a let down that we were allowed to walk in and start picking out our flavors while someone stood there and it took someone else walking up minutes later to tell us. It might not be the best idea to happy young teenagers closing the store by themselves.

The Choppin’ Block – Menu with Prices – 2212 Madison St, Clarksville

We were visiting from out of town and had a waiter recommend this place. It was 15 minutes out of our way, but we drove to pick up a couple of steaks any way because of all the great reviews. When we walked in the service was phenomenal and the associate was very helpful. She wrapped up 2 dry aged filets for us, and we were on our way. When we got to the register the young woman let us know that it was a possibility that the credit card machine may not work and that we may have to go to the ATM to get cash. I told her that we would be happy to do that if the owner would take care of the ATM surcharge. The associate called the owner, and the owner said absolutely NOT. My experience with this establishment was not with the associates, but with the owner. The credit card machine was down and obviously that was my fault and not the owners. In my opinion, as a business owner myself, I would rather break even and keep my customer happy vs pissing off a customer. I’m sure this is not normal, but in this case I would have done anything to keep a customer happy. I will slaughter and dry age my own cow before I ever enter this establishment again. Thanks a lot to the terrible business owner!!!

Subs ‘n Such – Menu with Prices – 1008 Florida Ave S, Lakeland

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a sandwich shop to grab a quick lunch while moving our son into Florida Southern College. Searched restaurants in the area on my iPhone maps app and saw yelp reviews had it at more than 4.0. It was less than a mile from the college. We actually drove by and missed the driveway. I could tell the passengers in the car were skeptical as the place looked small and we wondered if it had seating inside – which it did, but limited. We found out later they do a brisk takeout and delivery business. DO NOT judge a book by it’s cover! Subs n Such has been in business since 1977 and there is a quality reason why. Once inside we were greeted warmly by staff who explained the offerings and cheerfully gave personal FSC history and their close ties to the college. Several students work here, including delivering subs. It is a sandwich shop offering traditional deli sandwiches, hot dogs, and burgers. The subs are of varying sizes. In our party some ordered 6″ and 8″ subs and we all left happy and satisfied for only $32 plus tip. We had Philly Cheese Steaks, Meatball subs, and a Carlotta. All were delicious. The place really has a mom ‘n’ pop, local diner feel and the staff AND other customers were really friendly and happy to be there. Give it a try – it blows the chains away! I can’t wait for my next visit and a chance to show this hidden gem to more family and friends.

Ru Sans of Athens Menu with Prices 196 Alps Rd, Athens

First off the food is amazing. We had starters like the shrimp tempura and the shrimp tempura plate. But, we haven’t even gotten our actual sushi yet and we already had a big issue with this place. The service. The waitress/wait staff are probably college kids who don’t care about this job to begin with. We had a big order for three people and were super hungry. So we’re eating my starter that came out first and we’re super thirsty and we’re waiting for a refill. Five minutes go by. Ten minutes go by. Then fifteen. I’ve had enough, I went up to our waitress and she’s playing on her phone and eating in public while we’re over here waiting for drinks. I go up to the girls and ask if we could get refills instead of them playing on their phones. The girls giggled. I went back to my seat. She finally came over with our drinks. Slammed them on our table and gave me someone else’s drink at my table and my friend like wise. We have finally gotten our food and it’s good. But, she slammed our food down on the table again. Love the food but, the service is horrible. I wish I could have gotten an image of the waitresses on their phones but I wasn’t sure if it was allowed or not. Foods good but, with service like this and the prices… Not sure if I’m too happy or wanting to come back. Please hire better wait staff. Side note- even the tables around me were having difficulties with the wait staff. All we heard was excuse me several times with everyone being ignored. Horrible! Another add in- our starters came with a great sauce and we wanted to save that sauce. She took our starters plate without asking if we were done. So when we asked for the sauce we had on our starters plate back she said for new sauce it’s $1.00, but she just took our sauce??? Like what?!?

Riverview Garden Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3564 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg

I have eaten at this restaurant countless times. This place is a hidden gem for a number of reasons. The food is listed in English and in Chinese, they have 2 menus, one for Canadians and another for Chinese people. If you ask the server to recommend something she or he will gladly do so. The prices are reasonable and comparable to most restaurants. They are wheel chair accessible and will accommodate however they can. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it might be a good idea to book ahead for a table or take your chances just walking in. The staff speak good English and communicate very well. The food is ready quickly and it’s hot and fresh, fresh ingredients and you can taste it every dish. This is likely a family run business and they appear to want to make the customer happy and have you coming back. There is a large take out business going on, servicing many regulars. How do I know this (because I am in there eating often) faces look familiar. I suggest you give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Backcracker – Menu with Prices – 2 N Central Ave, Phoenix

Wow! Where do I start? I just toured the new location in Downtown Phoenix and I am impressed with all Brian has to offer with Spaces. The reception team provided great customer service and made me feel welcomed. This will definitely help any company build a great culture with best in class amenities for them to attract and retain top talent. Also, the views on the 18th and 19th floor are amazing. I was motivated seeing other business professionals network and build off of each other. There are some great offices still available in this prime location, all of which allow everyone to collaborate with many like-minded business leaders in the area. Spaces main idea is success breeds more success. Thank you for the tour, and I can’t wait to start working out of my private office.

Broiler Bay Hamburgers Menu with Prices 10636 Main St, Bellevue

I must admit I can not comment on the quality of food because the employee working chased us out the door before we could enter. With ZERO customers in the restaurant and every parking space open- including neighboring business spots, I was rudely confronted by the young employee and instructed to move my car to another lot, or to park again because it was taking up two spots. Once again, not a single customer at 4PM on a Monday and this employee was adamant to keep it that way. A note to the business owner, your employees should not chase away business before they walk in the door. You just missed out on a large order- burgers for an entire sports team. We will never visit this establishment again. Positive food reviews will not compensate for HORRIBLE customer service. Instead we took our business to an establishment that had TWO placards stating how important an experience is to a customer.

Surf up Mexican grill – Menu with Prices – 200 Main St suite 114, Huntington Beach

I went with my family down to Huntington Beach on Main Street to spend Sunday. We are hungry and looking for a good Mexican place. All the places had a long wait. I had my two kids with me and they were getting tired so we weren’t able to wait a long time for a dine in restaurant. We kept walking down the street and we saw this beautiful brand New Mexican grill. We went in to check out their menu. They had a variety selections from tacos, burritos, bowls and kids meals. It was just what we needed. We decided to try their burritos and it tasted so Delicious. My husband had their tacos it was so good. The kids had the best chicken fingers ever. Everything is made fresh in front of you. Their customer service is great. Their staff is very friendly. I do recommend this place because you get a great food and no long wait like the other restaurants around. their food is made with passion and love. I will definitely be back soon since we go often to Huntington beach

Dimi’s Food Stand – Menu with Prices – 10801 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

We got 4 different items from the menu and they were all delicious. The girl who works here is very young but she seems to have a lot of experience. She was really friendly and nice with the kids, which is a plus. Seems like This Food Stand is a newly established cause it is really clean. I think this place is a little bit too fancy for where it is located and that’s why it is a little bit expensive but it is worth the price!!!!

Pokébowl Station – Menu with Prices – 1800 W University Ave, Gainesville

One bowl was merely an OK Bowl Another was gross, a No Way Bowl But when down in Gainesville My sharp hunger pains will Keep bringing me back to Pokebowl! It’s yummy, for your information And the drinks provide perfect hydration Their Boba is perfect Like L’Oreal, it’s Worth It So get straight down to Pokebowl Station! My notes said: Amazing Boba shop with some of the best Boba in town, the BSMT was insane and she made it off menu for me exactly how I wanted it – perfect. Within walking distance of a Boba shop owned by friends of mine is this larger, roomier, more cozy and just-as-delicious boba palace, which also has excellent Poke, and prices are very reasonable for the droves of college students that come by and near here (and the smart ones come in). I also absolutely love the decor here. It’s huge with lots of cozy corners and lots of cute stuff. They have some of the friendliest service in town and some really nice friendly and cute customers and some of the best products in a town that is somewhat lacking good Boba products (although not by Florida standards, by which it’s a pretty decent Boba town). So this is not only five stars but one of my top recommendations for the whole town. I’ll definitely bring the sexy dominatrix girl here and I’ll definitely be back whenever in Gainesville, or even when in Lossesville. Florida, despite my frustration Has the worst Boba in the nation But Gainesville has a few That I will return to And one of those is Pokebowl Station!

ASLC Grindhouse Cafe – Menu with Prices – Tallahassee

Seats for an auditorium lecture with little desk sides but no cup holder, but it’s free for FSU students and it’s always a unique and fabulous experience to watch something with college kids. Sometimes there are early movie premieres which is awesome. Always clean, good selection of snacks, friendly staff. In the main room, they also hold game and karaoke nights, rent out video and board games and have comfy couches. Overall fabulous and chill place to spend a night on a college campus.
