Don’t get me wrong: I love Costco and we have always associated Costco with quality and good prices. This confidence is what prompted my parents to use Costco’s contractor referral service to purchase a complete heating & cooling system to replace their aged oil-fired furnace. Costco referred my parents to FH Furr of Manassas who was hired to remove the old furnace and install a completely new Lennox heat-pump system. FH Furr replaced everything except the refrigerant lines and consequently my parents have experienced persistent refrigerant leak problems with their $8000 system ever since. Although FH Furr’s General Manager admits mistakes were made they will not rectify the situation unless my parents fork out another $900 just to troubleshoot the refrigerant leak. This can be construed as an attempt to extort money from an elderly fixed-income couple who wanted noting but a cost-effective and worry-free heating/cooling system. The result is that my 80 year old parents have been without heat throughout this record-breaking winter in Virginia. We have placed phone calls and written letters to Costco in an effort to make them aware of the contractor’s unscrupulous actions and also to plead for some assistance in this matter. Although a customer service representative promised a return call from a manager I was never contacted and we have had no response from Costco to our letter. Furthermore, we have not had a response from Lennox, who should be involved because FH Furr is not sure whether the leaks are in the Lennox Heat pump, which is under warranty, or in the 47-year-old un-replaced refrigerant lines. So just be aware that Costco’s contractor endorsements are meaningless. You might as well just pick up a phone book. Do not expect any help from Costco when things go wrong and don’t hold your breath when Costco promises a phone call. Feel free to read the reviews for FH Furr on Yelp.

Sam’s Club Bakery – Menu with Prices – 7200 Peach St, Erie

Totally unhelpful and horrible customer service. Only 2 regular check out cashiers were open with lines of 10 carts or more each. Manager would not open more check out lines. There were 8 self checkout lines available but none of those take cash, only card, and guess what? I only had cash. Totally useless to me. So I decide to use the handy-dandy Sam’s Club app, Scan & Go (even though I don’t have my credit card with me, the app has it saved) ……. this the most useless app on the face of this earth!!! Of all the times I’ve tried to used it, it maybe worked only 2% of the time! FUCKING FIX THIS USELESS APP!! PLEASE!! So it takes me about 20 minutes to scan 88 items totaling over $1,000 and then the stupid app hangs and says “Something went wrong”!!!!! NO SHIT something went wrong! Sam’s Club is still in business, that’s what went wrong!! Why can’t we have a Costco instead? So then I had still had to wait in the 10 plus cart line to check out! The whole checkout ordeal took over 40 minutes! Total bullshit! I think I will be driving 2 hours to Ohio to shop at their Costco from now on. I’m done with Sam’s Club, they are insufferable!

Aranda’s Plumbing, Heating and Supply – Menu with Prices – 600 Cortez St #1012, Santa Fe

Don’t use Arandas. They sent out a plumber(simple bathroom sink small leak). He installed a pop up, which was not the problem. Also, it did not match my fixtures. I have brushed nickel; he installed chrome. Later that day I discovered an additional leak, which was due to the installation. They sent out another technician. I told him what the first technician had done and I wanted the new leak fixed. He said that Arandas did not do the previous work..that they don’t install anything like that..that you could see the sloppy caulking and someone had ‘wrenched’ the part. I called and asked them to send out a technician that knew what he was doing, since he apparently did not believe Arandas had done this incorrect work, 3 days before. Long story short, he drove away, without saying anything. I called them again. I was told he had come to pick up the part I needed. He came back with the SAME incorrect part and wanted to remove what the first guy had installed three days before..the same chrome part. I told him to leave. The next day I went in to complain about this service/part. I was told they didn’t have the correct part. I asked that they send someone to put the drain back together, as the sink was unusable, due to the fact that their technician had left parts on the counter, that were needed for the sink to be functional. They refused. I asked for a refund, since the guy had used the wrong part. They refused..in spite of the fact that they have a 30 day guarantee on labor, and I had an unusable sink..rendered so by their technician. I had to hire someone else to clean up their mess. DONT USE ARANDAS.

Franz Bakery Corporate Accounting Office – Menu with Prices – 501 SE Columbia Shores Blvd #900, Vancouver

Please please sell the Glazed Blueberry Old fashioned at WinCo Foods and the outlet stores not just COSTCO. not everyone shops at ,Costco.

Kurvan Kendall – Menu with Prices – 6776 SW 117th Ave, Miami

Keep your eyes open for CARD SKIMMERS at this location. My mother and I have used this specific location to pump gas and on both occasions our credit card information has been stolen right after coming here. Fraudulent purchases are made less then a day after being at this gas station. We both used the middle gas pump.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken – Menu with Prices – 6056 N Dixie Dr, Dayton

I almost never have a problem with this location. But my daughter brought 2 of the Wednesday specials. She gets the order home to find that she is 1 piece of chicken short. I called a total of 8 times throughout that day. No one ever picked up the phone. The next evening I called and finally was able to explain the situation. The manager told me that the chicken would be replaced. I go today to get 1 piece of replacement chicken and you would have thought that the entire order was being replaced. I ended up with possibly the oldest piece of chicken that they had up there. It was dried up and old. For me to receive something that was to be replaced because I paid for it seemed of no importance to the male manager who gave me old chicken. Won’t be returning to this location if at all possible.

Vida Coffee Co – Menu with Prices – 812 Hitt St, Columbia

Warm atmosphere, free Wi-Fi, friendly service and an interesting menu make this a great choice for meetings or studying! Fresh baked goods. A couple of unusual drinks that we enjoyed are the Smoking Gun Latte with matcha green tea and sweet heat (a ghost pepper syrup that’s spicy) and a Cinnamon Latte with half a shot of the sweet heat. If you like tea, the London Fog has Earl Grey with steamed milk and vanilla, like a latte with black tea instead of espresso. Ask about the bottomless tea and coffee special. Be aware that you’ll have to get a decaf Americano if you want decaf after 10 a.m. They don’t brew decaf after that. It’s a campus so most people want caffeine! Worth a visit!

Costco Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3700 S Grange Ave, Sioux Falls

I had a very unpleasant experience at this warehouse on Sat 29 Sep. I tried to get change made to buy a bottle of KS water & a coke from the vending machines and 3 employees told me it was a “Costco corporate wide policy” that they were not allowed to make change. As I have literally been to hundreds of Costcos around the country and around the world this irked me because I know for a fact this is NOT TRUE. Ever since Costco dropped Coke for Pepsi in the food courts I have been getting change made at every Costco I go to so that I can buy coke b/c I do not like Pepsi. After I acknowledged okay this might be your warehouses policy I politely disagreed w/ 3 different employees that “not making change policy” is by NO MEANS a Costco corporate wide policy. Its totally fine this is their policy, warehouse managers have the right to make their own policies and if that is their policy fine that is their policy – HOWEVER, the fact that they continued to insist it was a company wide policy wasn’t even the most irritating part- the worst part was that all three employees became so rude & condescending towards me. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by any Costco employees. Literally in every other situation a warehouse does have some specific policy they tell me “well actually our policy is XYZ… but we can accommodate you this one time. Because you know Costco is supposed to be known for their extremely good customer service. (Well apparently all Costcos except Sioux Falls.) And FYI Sioux Falls: BOTH Fargo & Baxter made change for me w/ ZERO issues because “not making change for people” is YOUR policy – NOT a Costco corporate policy!!!

401 Dixie Automall – Menu with Prices – 5500 Dixie Rd, Mississauga

Extremely disapointing! First the man behind the desk hasn’t known what part is to be replaced and ask me on condition that somebody from the service department called me to inform the order had arrived!? And please pay attention, the order had arrived 7 months after it was found what part should be replaced! And the most disappointing and really dishonoring was the fact that after 2 and a half hours waiting, I was told the part was not replaced as it did not match, a wrong part has been ordered! What a unprofessionalism was it! I do not want to use the service of 401 Duxie VW!

The Pump Station & Nurtury – Santa Monica – Menu with Prices – 2415 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica

I will start with this: the lactation consult my wife scheduled did provide a lot of information and successfully got our child to latch during breastfeeding. The class was $160 for 75 minutes. This review is mostly about the unprofessional and discourteous manner of our consultant. We were 5 minutes late for our consultation (because it was the second time trying to go out with our 7-day-old newborn, and you know, getting out the door on time can be really challenging for people who have never done this before), and when we apologized, our consultant pointedly stated that she had 5 more appointments that day and that we wouldn’t get more time (we weren’t expecting more time, we were just trying to apologize for being late). Again, the information was good, but like drinking water from a fire hose. Our baby was slightly jaundiced, and when we told her that, she looked at me (I’m Korean, my wife is white) and said “well another reason why she might look a little yellow is because of dad”, which I was offended by (yellow is a derogatory term for Asian ppl, just FYI). Then, when she was on the couch helping my wife, I was on my phone. Should I have been paying attention? Sure, totally my bad. However, instead of asking me to pay attention, she looked at me, said “hey! Dad! Get off your phone!” and flicked my knee with her hand. First of all, there should never be a time (professional or personal) where hitting someone is okay (or even touching without permission). Second of all, I’m not a 5 year old; just ask me to pay attention and I’ll gladly do so. The last thing that really rankled me was how much up selling there was in the meeting. Our pump wasn’t good enough; rent this $80/month hospital grade pump! (Many other people/health professionals said our medela pump in style was totally fine). Our bottles aren’t good enough; buy this dr browns bottle and nipple! Our pillow “wouldn’t even be sold in the store”; buy this way better nursing pillow (which I found later on Amazon for $20 cheaper)! Bars, supplements, additional consultations (hah!) were not offered, they were just assumed to be purchased. So all of that led to a pretty negative and stressful experience. Go if you want; I’m sure your experience might be different. We will not be back.

Captain D’s – Menu with Prices – 603 E 15th St, Plano

Well I have to say I donâ??t get tired of Captain Dâ??s, I was a dining room manager at one time for 5 years, so I am aware of how things are prepped, cooked and how long it takes to cook the food, I am also aware that I should have gotten a receipt. I have been to this store on 15th street in Plano 3 times this week and the first two times I paid with a card got a receipt, paid with cash this time, didnâ??t get a receipt, either she really forgot or she pocketed that money. Just saying, I know lost prevention when I see it. And may I make a suggestion to keep your cost down, if an item is replaced for something else donâ??t still put that same item along with the original item, someone else could have gotten those hush puppies and also put the green beans in a separate bag, so the juice doesnâ??t spill all on my fries and make them soggy.and last but not least, please rotate the grease when it supposed to and not make it last, I rather have quality., other than that the service was great, and I would have given you a 5 , thanks

Gordon Food Service Store – Menu with Prices – 1003 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids

I came here for a Yelp event, but ended up staying and shopping afterward: to be clear this review is just for my after event shopping. I had no idea what to expect when we came in, but it definitely was not “Small corner grocery story.” I was blown away about how nice the interior was, and the variety of things they had on hand. We live not far from this location so it’s great having another grocery store option. I’d put GFS as somewhere between a normal grocery store and Costco – they have bulk items like Costco has, but they have a larger variety of items than Costco, plus non-bulk like a normal grocery story has. It’s a really neat mix, and I really enjoyed just walking around and taking everything in. They had a really nice meat and deli counter, and a neat little bakery (they don’t make their bakery items in house, but have it shipped in from a small bakery in Chicago – they do decorate their items in house though). Prices are (as expected) good on a variety of items. They are better than our normal grocery store (D&W) on a lot of items, and are competitive or better than Costco on bulk items as well. There are obviously exceptions – candybars would be cheaper at Costco as an exmaple, but they had more variety so….it evens out. Anyway – Highly suggest checking this place out if you’re on the lookout for a better grocery store and live in the area.

Costco Wholesale – Menu with Prices – 13200 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City

My review may increase in time, but the chaos at this location and lack of organized customer service as of right now has me regretting my membership. Firstly, over a month before the store opened, they had reps come to my job on a Monday and sign people up for convenience. They offered us a $20 cash card and $60 in coupons to sign as an executive member, which I accepted. All of my co workers got their membership cards, cash cards, and coupons mailed to them before the week was over. Concerned that I didn’t, I called and talked to Costco customer service on the general number on their website and was told this is not how it works, that membership cards cannot be mailed out and that gift cards and coupons take 4-6 weeks to be mailed out. As it turns out, this is not correct. Membership cards CAN be mailed out and the incentives are mailed at the same time, you just have to add photos to them later on. Unfortunately, this meant we had to wait in the VERY long lines during opening week to get our membership cards and were told the photo machine was broken so we would have to finish that part at a later date. I asked about getting my cash card and coupons at that time and was told that they ran out and to give them my name, phone number and member number and they would call me soon to have one mailed to me.. that was 7 weeks ago. The selection here isn’t as great as many of the other locations I’ve been to, but since it’s the first one in OKC, I am going to chalk it up to being new to the market. I don’t think they anticipated the reception to be as great as it was and it has lead to a lot of chaos. The store has been opened for nearly 2 months and is still packed all days of the week. Unfortunately, this means long lines and that I am still waiting on a call to get my cash card and coupons. The silver lining is that most okies don’t realize how great their gas station is, so I’ve always been able to get gas quickly and it’s always been well cleaned and attended. I hope that other locations will open soon and the crowding will be cut down. This is likely going to take more than a year so I feel that I wasted my money getting my membership now as I likely won’t shop at this location for a while.
