This was some of the best Ice cream I’ve ever had. I had a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and covered in nuts, and 2 scoops of ice cream, all for 6.00. The ice cream stayed cold and unmelted down to the last bite. I will be going back not just for the ice cream , but the wonderful, helpful lady behind the counter. Thanks Cold Stone for a wonderful end to my shopping day.

Twistee Treat – Menu with Prices – 6900 Gulf Blvd, St. Petersburg

Let me start by saying that I’ve been wanting to go to Twistee Treat for years. I finally went today. They have so many delicious sounding choices! My husband ordered the root beer soft serve with cherry dip in a waffle cone. He said it was delicious. I ordered the fudge brownie soft serve with cherry dip and a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Mine was also delicious. I have two minor complaints. The first is that it seems like the ice cream is not cold enough to hold up to just existing. As soon as we received our cones, they were already melting and dripping all over the place and were a mess. The second issue I had with my cone was that I received it with the cone being dipped over the napkin that the young lady wrapped around the cone. This meant that I could not eat or enjoy the top inch of my cone because it had napkin glued to it from the Dip. (It is not possible to see the napkin with the dip on it in the photo because I placed another napkin over the top of it) basically I did not get my money’s worth. I had to discard a portion of my cone and ice cream. For some reason although my husband’s calling was also dipped it did not have a napkin wrapped around it during that process . Lucky ham! ? The reason it was so disappointing is that it was absolutely delicious! I will go back, but in the future I will make sure to share with the people working there what happened to my last cone so that they do it the same way.

Kilwins Jacksonville – Menu with Prices – 10281 Mid Town Pkwy Ste 125, Jacksonville

Everything about kilwins screams sugar paradise, from the smell as soon as you walk in of all the fudge and caramel apples to brightly smile faces of the associates. I have never had a bad time here and I feel as though anyone would be able to find something they liked in this store. I love trying thee different samples of fresh fudge they have set on top of the display cases for easy access. It’s especially cool because you can see the chocolatier making more right behind the case! Their ice cream is at the back of the store and is some of the best in town!It can be served in a traditional cone, a handmade waffle cone which is stamped with their name on the side for whimsy, or in a bowl. Their worse keep secret is also one of my favorite excuses for date night, their BOGO ice cream on Waffle Cone Wednesdays! I love going out with my fiancee, grabbing waffle cones with either a new flavor (I had the cappuccino chip this last time) or an old classic chocolate and just walking around the town center and window shopping.

Marble Slab Creamery – Menu with Prices – 2370 North Expressway #1186, Brownsville

Horrible customer service. The food here is delicious, no doubt about it, but this specific employee (Kathy) makes the most delicious waffle ice cream cone taste sour. Not because of the actual ice cream but because of her nasty attitude. This is an old lady who I?ve seen on Saturday?s. Her name is Kathy. People who come to get a snack here are most likely tired and looking to eat something sweet to continue their shopping or hit the road home… we are not looking for someone to ruin our experience at the mall. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU SEE THIS OLD LADY!!!

Honeycomb Creamery – Menu with Prices – 1702 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

This place is really leaning into Camberville. hipster and I am here for it. Not regular coffee ice cream, but cold brew coffee ice cream (if I have to explain the difference its already too late for you). Rosé gummy’s. Goat cheese and Basil Ice cream (I got this and damn. this was basily. And I love it. Go big or go home). There were a ton of weird flavors which we tried most of and they were all quite good. You can get an ice cream flight. Thats just genius. But like everything hip there is a dark underbelly. They don’t do sugar cones. If you want a cone you are gonna pony up $1.50 for a homemade waffle cone. And its delicious and obviously if you are eating ice cream you are getting a cone because you aren’t a savage. But this bucking of the traditional cheap sugar cone for free is an aggressive stance and I can’t abide by it. Go here, eat their weird, delicious, flavors. Complain about the lack of a free cone. Remember that I went there before it was cool. Thats all I have to say on the matter.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams – Menu with Prices – 4203 Park Rd, Charlotte

I was bummed to see the gelato place go, but was curious to see Jeni’s when I visited Charlotte. This is a small/growing chain of ice cream that sells some of its core flavors like Frosé, Darkest Chocolate, and Honey Vanilla Bean in pints at grocery stores and has scoop shops where you can buy an ice cream or something to take home. The shop was busy around early afternoon and had a line. The gals behind the counter moved quickly to fulfill the orders in a timely manner and were happy to answer any questions. Samples were not limited for their ice cream – that’s helpful when they offer their core flavors plus seasonal ones made in shop for a limited time. The gals were well-versed on the flavors they had in the freezers and it was clear they were enthusiastic about their workplace. I went with the Salted Peanut Butter with Freckled Chocolate in a waffle cone, my mom did the Butter Cake and Butter Almond Brittle flavors, and my dad did the Coffee. The waffle cones are made in house. My dad notes this ice cream has a smooth finish without a sweet or chalky aftertaste which one can experience with some ice creams. The flavors were well balanced. My one criticism is the waffle cone – while the cones were thick on the bottom point, mine was leaking very early on and I had to eat it very quickly. (Both of my parents had no issues with their cones.) Pricing is comparable to artisan ice cream shops. It’s a good company and they create some great flavors. I’d stop in again.

Marble Slab Creamery – Menu with Prices – 5976 Zebulon Rd, Macon

Very similar concept to Cold Stone, even around the same expensive price. But this ice cream is homemade and tastes much better in my opinion. Basically you choose your ice cream flavor, choose your toppings, and they mix it all together for you. The biggest pro here (and the thing that got my boyfriend dragging me through the door) is that you can get as many toppings as you want and a waffle cone for one cost. I’m not sure I’ve ever in my life been to an ice cream parlor that does that, so that was huge. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is because the service left something to be desired. I know jobs in the customer service industry are generally boring (I work one myself) but you can at least have a conversation with the person you’re serving…

The Soda Bar – Menu with Prices – 1500 Medical Center Pkwy Suite 1C, Murfreesboro

Tonight was my second time visiting The Soda Bar, I don’t frequent the Murfreesboro area much, but I was in the area with friends for dinner so we decided to stop by here for dessert! They have a full menu of dessert options, including a variety of shakes, about a dozen hand dipped ice cream flavors (in a cup, sugar cone or waffle cone), sundaes craft sodas and shaved ice. This visit I got the dulce de leche ice cream in a waffle cone and it was great!! The people working behind the counter were young but attentive, and there was a large group of what looked like high school girls taking up most of the tables in the shop, but there was a high top table towards the back that we were able to sit at. I love the decor and tables here because they have chargers on each table (both plugs and chords) which is awesome! They definitely know their target market (15-25) and what they want and need to go and hang out a place like this. The only thing I don’t care for at The Soda Shop is the entrance. They share a suite with a home goods boutique that has been closed both times I’ve been in, so it’s roped off, and getting to the front door when ready to leave if there are people in line waiting to place their order can be difficult. Overall, is The Soda Shop worth the trip to Murfreesboro if I wasn’t otherwise going? No. Will I stop in if I’m craving something sweet and I’m in the area? Absolutely!

Urban Churn – Menu with Prices – 1004 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

This is not cheap ice cream. It’s made with good things and awesome flavors. It is not made with fillers and garbage and artificial bits and pieces. This is the real deal. It’s worth every penny. We’ve been here a few times and it’s hard to recommend the specialty flavors because they change. So, I’ll start with the basics. The vanilla is a rich, creamy, mildly vanilla vanilla. Excellent flavor. Super smooth. The last time I was there, I ordered it as a cookie sandwich. It was $5 and the cookies paled in comparison to the ice cream. The cookies were hard, bland, and the chips were too small and hard. It was impossible to eat it without the ice cream squeezing out. Skip the cookies and order extra ice cream. That’s my official recommendation. As for the chocolate ice cream. People who know me know I hate almost all chocolate ice cream. HOWEVER. Not this one. The last time we were there, my son ordered three scoops of the chocolate and I had a taste. Actually, I had several tastes. ? It was really good. The same rich, smoothness of the vanilla with just enough chocolate flavor. $5 for three scoops and he couldn’t finish it (and he’s a 14-yr old who can eat an entire loaf of bread if I’m not looking). My daughter ordered the affogato (cold brew and ice cream). She was a traditionalist and chose the vanilla ice cream. My daughter loves cold brew. My daughter loves ice cream. Apparently, she’s not happy that I didn’t tell her about things like affogato dessert drinks years ago. She was hooked from the second it hit the table. Cold brew over their creamy vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream that is drizzled with honey. Worth every penny, every carb, and every calorie. All that bliss for $6. Her boyfriend had the root beer float. He liked it, but I think it was too sweet for him. My hubby ordered the smoked maple pumpkin which was a special flavor. It was fabulous. Seriously yummy. I had a bite – or two – or three – it was great. In a waffle cone. $5 for the two scoops with the homemade cone. I just checked their website. They currently have Maple Scrapple flavor and I feel I must get there before it’s gone. I love scrapple. I love ice cream. What’s not to like? Seriously – go there. In the summer, the line can get a little long and there is very limited seating. I didn’t know they had international style hot chocolate options so there’s a good reason to go there in the winter, too. Hot chocolate with a scoop of vanilla ice cream? Hell yeah!

Charlie’s Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 510 Hialeah Dr, Hialeah

This ice cream place has had many different names over the years. I remember when it was a Dairy Queen and my grandmother would send my mother here to get her some ice cream. After a long day of shopping, my son thought he was deserving of some ice cream. My son is an absolute trip. Anywho since this was on the way home, I figured why not. Whenever I come here, I never know what I want. My son on the other hand is simple; strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone. After spending quite some time reviewing the menu, I finally decided on a vanilla ice cream with cheesecake bites and strawberries avalanche. It’s basically a Dairy Queen blizzard and it was yummy to my tummy. The young lady that assisted me was super nice and attentive. She helped me finally figure out what the heck I wanted. Lol. It was just too many options and I wanted them all! Will definitely be coming back as I have been doing so.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Menu with Prices 800 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta

Overall…just splendid!! Service: This place is small, but the staff is very efficient. They are quick to hand out samples and get your ice cream out to you. I mean? Why would they not be? This place can be packed especially during the summer and with the amount of foot traffic Avalon can get. The staff is used to it and they are ready for any rush. Food: delicious ice cream! Always something new to try out, but always stocked with the usuals. They have such unique flavors that you can’t find at any Baskin Robins or Brusters. Their ice cream is delicious and so light, that I never feel guilty after eating it. I recommend getting the Trio. Why? Well for $6 you get 3 half scoops and a large waffle cone chip. Why this and not just a cone? Well, I believe in optimizing what you pay for. For a cone, it’s $5 and you get one flavor. But with a Trio, you get to try 3 flavors for really only a $1 more. Sure, you don’t get to enjoy ice cream from a waffle cone, but it’s less of a mess and you get to try more flavors. The Trio was enough for both of us to share and not feel too full. 5/5 – because…I don’t always get ice cream, but when I do I always try to come to Jenni’s! I love this location because while I’m eating, I can go around window shop, and possibly burn off some calories from walking around a bit! It can get busy and it is hard to find seating around the building, but worth if you want good friendly staff and delicious ice cream!

Emack & Bolio’s Menu with Prices 366 Delaware Ave, Albany

Oh, E+B. That was soooo good. Can I have another?? Woman wanted Ice Cream on a Saturday after a run. Always game for a cool treat after the torture of a 5k. So I did my usual. Put “Ice cream” into a yelp search, and up pops Emack and Bolio. I was like… who? Did some reading, looked at pictures, and decided this was where we were going. I do like some soft serve and froyo, especially if there’s alot of flavor selection, but I always look for a good hand packed regular ice cream also, and tend to err in that direction. In we walk. Smells like an ice cream shop. They have a chocolates case. Being on somewhat of a diet, I avoided it. I will partake one day, just not today. Nice selection of all different flavors too. It all sounded and looked very good. The selection of ice cream flavors was what you would expect. The old standbys and a mix of unique also. “Deep purple cow” and “Chunk ‘O Funk” for examples. She chose the vanilla bean speck with chocolate and peanut butter toppings. I went with cake batter with rainbow sprinkles. (Of course). Anybody who has read my reviews knows how I feel about rainbow sprinkles. I also went with a waffle cone bowl. With chocolate coating. And rainbow sprinkles. (See above). Not a fan of the cone so much. I always feel rushed to pound down the cone before it melts and ends up all over my hand and shirt. I would much rather get a bowl and take my time. Savor it at my own pace. She raved about her selection, and I am here to expound on mine. The cake batter ice cream was spectacular. Cake batter base with chunks of yellow and chocolate cake mixed in. So darn good, I am already thinking about going back again. Not overly sweet either. Very well done. And although I’m not a fan of waffle cone either, it was also spectacular. The whole combination just worked very very well. I’ll be back for more for sure. I gave you five stars because you deserve five stars. I was going to subtract one for the cost, but after some thought, I am willing to pay the extra to get a product that rings all the bells. And that’s exactly what this did. No conversation, just the two of us going “Mmmmm” and “Oh my”. For cost perspective: One single scoop coated waffle bowl with two toppings, and one double scoop coated waffle bowl with rainbow sprinkles ? It came to just over $13.00. That could be a bit much for some. As I said, I have no problem with it when the product matches the price.

Gunther’s Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 2801 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento

Gunther’s was my first ice cream love when I moved to Sacramento. I was dazzled by the neon sign that lights up the exterior of the building with a cone being filled with a scoop of ice cream, and impressed by the longevity of this family owned ice cream shop. They have a case of ice cream treats from chocolate covered bananas, cherries, ice cream sandwiches, and even clown decorated ice cream cones. The shakes are divine. All made to order, and with the ice cream made on premises. If you’re a purist like I am, you’re there for the amazing ice cream! Gunther’s has been a family owned and operated creamery for over 60 years. The creamy delights range from basic flavors like chocolate, butter pecan, strawberry, to seasonal flavors that are sure to delight. I love that you can order either kiddie scoops, regular scoops, or a combo. The kiddie scoops are perfect if you’re just craving a smaller amount. The regular scoops are a tad larger, and I often mix my scoop sizes when I’m indulging in a couple of flavors. Scoops can be enjoyed in either a sugar cone, A classic Cone, waffle cone, or even in a bowl. I often will order my ice cream on a sugar cone and then asked for to be put in a cup so that if there isn’t room to sit and enjoy it there taking it with me is easier. My favorite flavors are traditionally the chocolate brownie, the mint chip, and they make a couple of different heavenly caramel ice cream flavors that depending on the season are available. Gunther’s is a great place to stop at any time of the day or evening. During the summer and warmer months of the year, it’s not uncommon to see a line out of the door and around the corner. Don’t let that deter you from enjoying premium ice cream! The line moves fairly quickly and when you get to the counter the customer service is superb. If you’re unsure of a flavor they are more than happy to let you sample then make a decision. Gunther’s is a Sacramento landmark, and definitely worth trying. I often feel like they are a hidden gem, and should be discovered, and rediscovered often.
