Writing this after a friend visited…I write for a small restaurant review…which do to my job must remain unknown. After listening in on 2 conversations today one very unprofessional and the other very professional….I assume Charles is more than a manager for this small business…he handled a minor incident with the utmost care… I find that in this day and age customer service is of the utmost importance. With that being said the other young man (Jeff) needs some manager customer service training skills. First and foremost you never argue or change your tone of voice. Always remember the customer is always right. Even if you feel the problem is minor in your eyes. When a customer complains about food or service take the time to rectify the situation then not after the fact. Correctly ask the customer what would make them happy right then. All managers have that authority to make a customer happy. Remember word of mouth can make or harm a business. Charles I feel understood that issue. If a customer has to repeat themselves over and over to said manager then that person should not be in management. Always make a customer happy whatever it takes. I took the time to read several reviews on this location and some were excellent and too many were 1 star. Being in this business for several years I have in my career ran across well run and very poorly ran restaurants. Being this is a new location for this company you can not run it poorly. To upset a customer and feel you cannot take care of it without contacting the owner is detrimental to a good working relationship. I feel Charles will take care if this problem, hopefully with out taking it out on the customer, in a manner to make them want to come back and tell their friend’s what a great place they found. Otherwise they will tell 10 people and those 10 people will tell 10 more…no owner in this day can afford bad press. So I say to Cogburns please take care of your customer base, go the extra mile to make them happy…do not demean them on the phone…assume always your position in management is to care about your customer’s, not to assume who cares if they never come back. Again Charles I listened to both conversations and found yours was professional….Thank you Duke

Medina Halal Market – Menu with Prices – 32760 Alvarado Blvd, Fremont

I have been coming to Medina market for over 10 years been a very loyal customer… Now under new management this place is very poorly managed.. the new owner is very unprofessional rude and dishonest.. sells you goat when you want lamb.. weighed the meat with fat on it and then cleans it not knowing what the leftovers are used in…the manger got into in argument with a family member and now he refuses to help anyone that is associated with him… I feel like that’s very poor judgement from the owner… so childish… why are you making everyone else look bad because of one person… Band him why take it out on everyone… I wish this happens to you or someone in your family… making people feel like they did something wrong when we have giving you so much respect … greeted you welcomed you to this neighborhood and all this management has given us is rudeness and disrespect… Shame to the new management of Medina Halal Market,,,, I hope you grow up fast because your actions make you look like a man with no morals or values…..how would this make you feel…grow some balls and don’t hate on everyone else because one person hurt your feelings….Zero stars on management skills and a negative zero star on customer service maybe you should take classes on how to treat your customers and how to be a owner of a business….

The Choppin’ Block – Menu with Prices – 2212 Madison St, Clarksville

We were visiting from out of town and had a waiter recommend this place. It was 15 minutes out of our way, but we drove to pick up a couple of steaks any way because of all the great reviews. When we walked in the service was phenomenal and the associate was very helpful. She wrapped up 2 dry aged filets for us, and we were on our way. When we got to the register the young woman let us know that it was a possibility that the credit card machine may not work and that we may have to go to the ATM to get cash. I told her that we would be happy to do that if the owner would take care of the ATM surcharge. The associate called the owner, and the owner said absolutely NOT. My experience with this establishment was not with the associates, but with the owner. The credit card machine was down and obviously that was my fault and not the owners. In my opinion, as a business owner myself, I would rather break even and keep my customer happy vs pissing off a customer. I’m sure this is not normal, but in this case I would have done anything to keep a customer happy. I will slaughter and dry age my own cow before I ever enter this establishment again. Thanks a lot to the terrible business owner!!!

Creme de la Creme Cafe – Menu with Prices – 4080 Lemon St, Riverside

Please don’t not support this business. Management + ownership is terrible. Their manager at this location DARAMI DAM has actually scolded & yelled at employees in front of customer & I’ve seen it for myself. When I finally got in contact with the owner to inform him about what had occurred in his restaurant his reaction was so nonchalant, as if he had been aware of this guys behavior. Their pastries are always frozen and molded. one of the employees informed me that they keep the same pastries in the display case for weeks! This place use to actual be decent before they brought over new management & a whole new staff. The Ownes’s JOE AND JULIE DIBENDETTO are 100% opportunists, Joe is a jerk who treats his employees like peasants and Julie hides behind his decisions but in reality is just as guilty for her actions. There are so many other bakeries/cafes go too. I encourage you all to support businesses that actually know how to properly run a business (:

Olivella’s Las Colinas – Menu with Prices – 5238 N O’Connor Blvd #134, Irving

Our first trip to this particular location and while the food was pretty close to what we’ve had at another location, the service had a lot in terms of improvement. Food was a respectable 4-5 stars. Service was about 2 stars. This particular visit happens to be on a Monday night and only one wait staff member and a manager on the floor. I get it, hard to find help these days so we’re ok and understanding. What made this visit extraordinary was the type of service we experienced from the manager and the sole staff member. Let me summarize…1) we asked for additional bread as part of our appetizers TWICE, got charged for it, but no bread delivered (when almost complete with meal and after we received our bill, the waitress asks “did your bread ever make it out”), 2) manager asked us to move our plates so he can place our food on the table (twice), 3) when we asked for another glass of wine, response from manager “yea but it will be a while”, 4) a small plate we had on the table was previously used by another patron, 5) while still only 80% finished with our meal, manager drops the bill at the table (literally as most of the table is still eating and I guess that means no dessert for you), 6) we asked for to go boxes and response from manager to waitress, “to go or pizza boxes?”; hmm let me guess since we only had pizzas for our meal, I don’t know maybe a happy meal box???, and so on. As some feedback to ownership, your manager should really omit their display of how frustrated they are to your customer…it is Hospitality and usually done with a smile, not out of frustration. Hope they improve their management and staff. Wouldn’t write this location off just yet as the food was good; however it will be a while for a repeat visit to let management transition out.

Mikoto Express – Menu with Prices – 1400 Walter Reed Rd, Fayetteville

Long time customer, even worked there over a decade ago. Went there today and the steak taste like it was rotten. I couldn’t bare the taste without gagging and approached them to make it right, but instead the manager told me that there was nothing he could do. I just feel like even though this may have been a bad steak, they let this one incident ruin the business I give to them. I am a Real Estate Agent and have introduced this location to others etc. But now, I will refer no one. The meal I had today was disgusting and the manager Alex could care less and made it clear. #BadService #MikotoExpress

Gracie’s Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 607 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett

In response to your comment with MH initials. Almost not even true. Itâ??s all lie. Itâ??s this how you live to make a comment and get paid for bad reviews? You are blaming it to the owner or to our crews when we make it clear that Filipino cuisine are cooking from scratch.it takes a while Remember when food are being rush, itâ??s loses its quality. We are first come first serve basis however in order for our customer to not long wait, we serve them the appetizer right away. We know that we cannot please everybody and you are only one percent of the total 100 percent. You can say that â??forget this place â?? but still a lot of people will remember this place. I have read all the reviews and you always put one star reviews to all the businesses youâ??ve been weâ??re no good to you. If you think that our lumpia is not good then why did you finish all the lumpia including the free one we gave you. Always put yourself into our shoes before making any comment. If you are the one cooking and you did your best to deliver the good service and I will make a comment that is full of lie donâ??t you feel mad as well. We are struggling to put this business and you are making a comment that is not even true. The owner is a single parent who want to making a decent living. Donâ??t tell me this is how you treat all business owner especially Asian business owner for you to make a bad wish. And for you to make a comment about the manager or owner who just took her break because she was very tired that day, you donâ??t have the right to say that, you have no idea how these people are working hard just to serve you. I think you make this as an excuse finding all mistakes so you can have a freebie. Free food, free wine.

Rawbean Coffee Drive-Thru – Menu with Prices – 3042 E 3300 S, Salt Lake City

I’ve loved this place since the first day they opened. When we first rolled through, their owner was working the window, getting to know everyone who came through, giving treats to all of the dogs, and expressing genuine gratitude for every customer he served. It doesn’t take long to want to be a regular there because everyone is so nice and they really care about remembering exactly how you like your drink. I’m so happy this place is in my neighborhood and I’m happy to support a local business owner who seriously gives a damn about his community.

J-Town Beach – Menu with Prices – 10315 Watterson Trail, Louisville

A friend of mine went a couple of days ago to this place for a drink and got hit in the head with a volleyball while she was sitting at a table during an evening out w her fiancé. The manager was insincere and unapologetic when her fiancé notified management that she had been injured as an innocent patron of the restaurant. When my friend, her fiancé, and another mutual friend who had witnessed the incident began discussing her injury quietly at a table the owner came out and told them they needed to leave. I think this kind of business practice should not be supported. The manager/owner should reach out to the injured lady and offer a heartfelt apology and check whether she had a sustained injury. Avoid this establishment at all cost due to negligent customer service practices!

Cicis Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6633 Atlanta Hwy #340, Montgomery

The store is very nice the employees are friendly but the store manager Mr Joseph Boyd is very rude and needs to learn customer service!!I went into this store to specifically speak with him(He is the manager and name is on the door) But he would NEVER came over to me to see what I wanted. The cashier (very pleasant young lady) told him twice that I was there to see him and he continued to watch me behind the counter. He walked around as if trying to find something to do just to keep from speaking with me!He proceeded to get on his personal phone laugh and talking then he got on the store phone all while I sat patiently waiting for him to come and speak with me! I could have wanted to book a party order a large number of pizzas or looking for employment had a complaint etc but he had no desire to see what I wanted.I will be notifying corporate to see if this is the kind of business they teach their managers to run and if so now I know.I will not spend another penny at this location until they replace this manager or hopefully close down this location and rebuild out in Chantilly where I can guarantee this kinda behavior will not be tolerated from management.

Kiki’s Chicken Place MARCONI – Menu with Prices – 4314 Marconi Ave, Sacramento

Holy crap. This was my concern from posting my review after trying it the first time. Sometimes things are too good to be true. Now I’d like to give management the opportunity to make this better. But I just can’t hold this in. So we come in- AGAIN- I know 3rd meal in about 24 hours. But my hubby had to try other flavors. The night before the wings came without any sauce. So they gave us points for a free fry. Not sure same value but I was so happy with first experience so I let it go. Anyways tonight we come in, and a are greeted by another 2 super helpful friendly girls. We order, and I say can we have the chicken sandwich cut in half? She says oh my manager won’t let me. I say oh we came here just yesterday and they had no problem can you check? She says sure. Food comes.. the same girl brings it out, and says so sorry but my manger said we can’t cut in half or we can get in trouble.. but I brought you a plastic knife to do yourself. So I say it’s ok- but can I speak with your manager? Approaches “manager” who instantly comes across unprofessional as she sees my attempting to cut a chicken sandwich in a basket tray clean with lettuce and tomato. She starts off by “HEY”….. I respond- um hi we just came for our first time yesterday and now today and I left a really great review and now I hear our sandwich can’t be cut in half? She scoffs and tells me she worked 11-7 yesterday so she would know. I say ok well I came twice between those hours for our first time and had no issues- I said the girls upfront handed back our basket tray to the chefs to cut. She LAUGHED and rolled her eyes “we don’t have chefs here” I said ok well I don’t know what you call them. (And I mean really did she prefer wing maker? Line man? Foods prepper?- what the f*ck!!) she said the girls upfront yesterday we still in training and don’t know better. (Except they were 99% why I returned.. I don’t care how good the good is if your service sucks you lose.) So how I say you know what it’s fine thank you. She said whatever man… ok so now we are calling women men.. but the people who make the food are not chefs. Get your life girl. Anyways I feel like this a missed opportunity for management and why so many fail in that specific location especially. We are a small community eager to support business in our neighborhood who support us. Alma failed and we wont just be back. *UPDATE* changing to 4 stars as management called and was very apologetic to the bad service. Hopefully Alma leaves and we can return- she clearly isn’t happ

The Kookaburra – Menu with Prices – 647 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine

Their pies are delicious but unfortunately their business management and customer service are highly lacking. We arrived at 1pm and they were completely out of all their pies, including their lunch pies. This was highly disappointing for us as we live in St Pete and were on holiday in Palm coast. We made a special trip just to get one of their pies. If it was late, I could be more understanding, but 1 pm is still early. We asked the staff if they could call one of their other locations for us to see if they had any pies available, but the staff said they could not and that their are no phones at the other locations. Seriously? What year are we living in? So we left and took our chances and went to the 4265 A1A S location. Luckily they did have pies left at this location and the pies were delicious. However, if business management and customer service do not improve, we can not recommend this place. It comes down to simple supply and demand. They need to increase the supply in order to meet the demand by customers. Also, they need to be able to be in contact with one another and with their customers. We live in a digital age and communication is key.

Golden Spoon – Menu with Prices – 8915 Atlanta Ave # A, Huntington Beach

Golden Spoon is by far my favorite frozen yogurt! Let me tell you why. I’ve been a customer for a couple of years now and every time I go, the customer service is always so amazing. I am always greeted with a smile and happy employees. I’m so stoked to have golden spoon around the corner from my house. Furthermore, my favorite flavor that I get every time is cake batter with brownie bites. If you get the chance, stop by and grab some froyo, it’ll brighten your day. Back to talking about the business, it’s always super clean (with AC)! I had the opportunity to interview with both the manager and the owner. I believe that this business will go far and if I had the chance to, I would totally want to work at Golden Spoon. Thank you Michelle and thank you owner for a wonderful meeting/interview. I know the community loves Golden Spoon and so do I! Cooper Marquez
