Pros: – Super sweet staff who will take the time to answer any and all questions you have! I even hit one of their cars, but she was still really nice afterward. (Don’t worry–we figured out insurance and all.) – Really great prices for typical sizes – Unique and high-quality syrups – Non-dairy options: coconut and almond milk – Chill and bright ambience – Free WiFi – Adorable homemade rice crispies (with seasonal flavors) and fresh tacos served 8-noon daily! Cons: – It’s difficult to find parking at times in this smaller plaza, but that’s not the cafe’s fault

Sunny Day Cafeteria – Menu with Prices – 101 E Wilson St, Madison

Great first impression, loved the homemade salsa verde that accompanied my breakfast burrito. Personable servers and just a chill place to hang out for a while. Excellent free, password protected WiFi. No parking lot, requiring you to hunt for street parking, which can be a challenge. Look forward to spending more time here and exploring more of the menu (a mix of breakfast dishes and sandwiches).

Kurabi Bubble Tea – Menu with Prices – 3821 Airport Blvd Ste. A, Mobile

I used to like hanging out at Kurabi when they first opened. It’s very nice and chill. Good spot if you want to hangout with friends because they have board games and card games you can use for free! They also have free wifi if you need to study but some nights there are game tournaments happening and it gets so loud. They have lots of drink flavors to choose from and you can also customize the sugar level of your drink! If you’re unsure which one to get, they have free taste of certain flavors ? They have numerous add-ins too but I just always get the tapioca pearls. They also have some goodies you can munch on. Taking one star off because the store had been crazy (see picture attached). It’s full of different stuff which makes the store look so messy. I wish they can clear things out or at least hide it behind the game shelf. Nonetheless, it’s still a great spot for boba. The crews are friendly and patient with my indecisiveness (I know, it’s embarrassing haha) Try it when you get a chance!

Taqueria Flavio – Menu with Prices – 3824 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg

I’m only giving this place 4 stars because of a few things that have nothing to do with the quality of the food… For one thing, the plaza it is located in looks sketchy. It isn’t the most appealing plaza. We have avoided trying this place for the 8 months we’ve been in the area, simply because of the plaza! (I know, kind of silly, but we’re ‘those’ kind of people). Once inside, the place is clean! Don’t always judge a book by it’s cover. The place is small. Nothing wrong with that. Very, very basic. No bells and whistles here. TV in the corner playing Spanish music; the other had soccer…kinda like a Mexican sports bar. That’s cool. Everything is served on disposables…Styrofoam cups for our ice water and paper plates with plastic utensils. There are no chips and guac or chips and salsa to be tempted by here. I repeat, NO chips or salsa. None. Nada. Zilch. That can be a plus or minus depending on how you look at it. Personally, I love my chips and pico or chips and guac and was silently disappointed, but whatever, I survived (enter this under the minus 1 star). They don’t have to be ‘unlimited’, but it would be nice if they were added to the menu. Some of us are spoiled by the basket of chips. The menu is extremely limited. There isn’t much variety and no combo plates. My husband ordered the steak and chicken fajitas and it came with orange rice (which he very much enjoyed) and refried beans. I ordered two carne asadas (steak tacos) that were off the chain! Seriously, everything was so fresh and delicious, I wish I could have eaten more…I was only able to eat one and was in pure heaven with each bite! My tacos came with little slices of radish, which I would have NEVER imagined putting on steak tacos, but the flavors meshed so well. There was a small spread of cilantro and onion across the steak, which was tender and juicy, with a fresh sliced lime on the side. Everything was just perfect! I rate the food, 5/5! Service was 5/5! We were impressed! They were sooo good. We have every intention of ordering from them again, but any future orders will be to go. I do think I would have enjoyed these more from the comforts of my own home. Definitely a great takeout place for tacos.

Taqueria Los Olivos – Menu with Prices – 3326, 1997 N Orange Olive Rd suite b, Orange

Tacos aren’t the only thing you will find here…. Plenty of smiling faces and great customer service. They make you feel welcomed here and the dining area has a cozy feel. The salsa bar sports some of the most appetizing pickled carrots and fresh homemade salsas around. Without a doubt, this entire restaurant is spic and span and the cleanest taco shop I have been to! This place is full of love and tacos! They should call it the Taco Love Shack! The Asada and carnitas tacos are sold individually for a little over a buck. They come with the meat of your choice, deliciously prepared homemade tortillas and flavors abound! I am a fan! Wait, there’s more! I also tried the burrito. Again, homemade tortillas and freshly prepared ingredients. Lots of flavor and fresh off the grill. They sell ice cold Mexican Coke and Fanta products along with horchata and the typical fountain drinks. Parking is easy peazy fresh and squeazy! I am a fan!

Dunn Brothers Coffee – Menu with Prices – 5320 E Arrowhead Pkwy, Sioux Falls

I’m new to the area, and missing the Pacific Northwest coffee culture. I prefer smaller or locally owned coffee places when at all possible. I also like a comfortable atmosphere and free wifi. This shop is in a strip mall but otherwise largely meets my expectations. The coffee is good, the baristas are chatty, and there are comfy chairs or tables for small groups. The food is nothing out of the ordinary but well done for the usual bakery stuff and sandwiches. There’s free wifi and some local art on the walls. You’re still in a strip mall but you don’t hear the traffic too badly and it has more character than most of the big chains. They just need to add eggnog lattes and I’ll be happy!

Mickey’s CheeseSicles & Mickey’s IceSicles – Menu with Prices – 4035 Harrison Ave, Cincinnati

This is homemade, fresh, flavorful cheesecake covered in the finest chocolate. I’ve ordered several times for weddings and showers. She is so flexible and most flavors are available vegan and all are available gluten free. They get cheaper the more you order! And that model!

Hu-Dat Hot Pot Central – Menu with Prices – 6042 S Padre Island Dr, Corpus Christi

Hu-Dat has become an institution in this town and their new location in Gulfway Plaza lives up to that reputation. The interior is bright and fresh and beautifully decorated – left over from the previous “Hot Pot” restaurant that used to be there. But, there seems to be more regular table seating than before. We each ordered the rice clay pot; hers with chicken, mine with BBQ pork. They came blazing hot in large ceramic pots. The flavors were outstanding – everything I remember that Hu-Dat delivers. The vegetables had a nice bite to them – very fresh. The pork was tasty and tender. It was the perfect ratio of rice to meat to vegetables, too. Excellent dish. And the whole pot stays HOT for quite a while so be warned. The only mark against this new place was the service. Don’t know if he was the manager, bartender or what, but he seemed a bit distracted. I had to grab a waitress to ask for the hot chile oil he never brought. And she did so promptly with a smile. Prices are comparable and quite reasonable. We’ll certainly be back.

La Flor De La Michoacana – Menu with Prices – 514 S Smith Ave, Corona

–LOCATION– Big Plaza that’s next to a Jack N the Box (but that’s not in the plaza per se). La Flor de Michoacan is located in the left corner of the plaza. Look for the bubble gum pink wall. –PARKING– Plenty, lot shared with plaza –SEATING– A couple seats here and there. You can grab something and sit. It doesn’t seem like it ever really gets packed. –MENU– there’s ice cream and popsicles. I came for the homemade popsicles! Flavors that I remember: +vanilla +strawberry +Strawberry and cream +cookie monster +passion fruit kiwi +mango +coconut +hibiscus +papaya? +pineapple +guava? +chamango They have water based and milk based flavors. All the popsicles are chunky and vibrantly hued. You literally see the fruit chunks in your popsicle. Water based popsicles: $2 Milk based popiscles: $2.50 *25 cents extra if you pay with card I got the Passion Fruit Kiwi water based popsicle. I really, really liked it and it was incredibly refreshing for a VERY HOT day. –SERVICE– Nice lady. She listed every flavor she had in the freezer for me. I didn’t see a list of flavors, but they should consider making one for people like me lol –OVERALL– Great stuff and flavors. I’d consider this a hole-in-the-wall type place. It’s a gem.

Blue Willow Teaspot Menu with Prices 1200 Tenth St, Berkeley

I can’t believe it took me this long to find this gem. This Teaspot is THE spot that I’ll be marking down as my go-to place when I need to get my productivity up. I love the nice bright and earthy ambience of the place. The huge selection of tea along with a personal kettle at the table are also helpful in making sure that I don’t snooze off too soon before getting my work done. With the free WiFi and friendly service, I can’t see how anyone could have anything less than a superb experience here. Also, I’m not sure if this is usually part of the tea place, but there was even a friendly doggo that roams around while I was there. As an animal lover, that certainly is a huge plus for me. With all the wonderful features of this place, perhaps the only downside is the parking situation. Since the tea house doesn’t have its own parking lot, you can only park on the side of the street. I went there on a weekday and had minor difficulties in finding one, but it might be a lot harder on the weekend to score a good spot.

The Kookaburra – Menu with Prices – 4265 A1A S, St. Augustine

Came in for a late night coffee and snack after dinner with some friends. The staff were super friendly and served us quite quickly. We ordered the Long black which is basically espresso pulled over water. I can’t tell you how delicious it was. I really enjoyed it. We also got a biscotti and and some gluten free pumpkin donuts. There are plenty of tables, nooks and comfy chairs to sit. There is free WiFi too. The place is clean and bright. There are quite a few coffee and specialty coffee choices. There is also a large assortment of breakfast and lunch Aussie pies. They are delicious. Nice puff pastry crust and fresh and delicious fillings. Great place for coffee and espresso. There is plenty of parking in their private parking lot. If you’re looking for a good cup of coffee and a bite to eat check this place out.

La Michoacana Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 1845 E 4th St, Ontario

Just came back from eating here and I can’t wait to go back! They have so many flavors in both ice cream and popsicles! Also fresh juices, corn on the cob, fruit bowls, shaved ice, and more! Ice cream Coconut (5 stars): One of the best coconut ice creams I’ve had! Caramel (4 stars) Tequila (4 stars) Strawberry cheesecake (4 stars) Cookies and Cream (4 stars) Vanilla (5 stars): One of the best vanillas I’ve had! Popsicles Strawberry with cream at the bottom (5 stars) Coconut (5 stars) SERVICE (5 star) Everyone was so nice here! The owner came out and let us try as many ice cream flavors as we liked. The woman working there was really nice too! Very welcoming. ATMOSPHERE The plaza isn’t the most fanciest place but when you go in here it’s nice and clean. They have tables inside and outside. PARKING In a plaza so parking is easy. Usually when I go to homemade ice cream places I only find one or two flavors I like but I liked everything I tried! Can’t wait to go back. My entire family loved it. I’m probably going to be addicted to this place.
