I have been living in Eugene since Thanksgiving 2015 and only discovered Coalesce Juicery & Whole Foods last week. She and her staff are absolutely awesome. They are the counterpart of Chaco Canyan Cafe in Seattle and Pappa Gi’s in Portland. The food is exceptional. They are also as good as PeaceFood Cafe in Manhattan, NYC. The raw granola is the best I had on any continent. Please do everything you can to support her. We need more RAW in Eugene and she is the only one.

Juice It Up! – Menu with Prices – 5244 University Pkwy A, San Bernardino

I go to this juice it up often and have always appreciated the service. I was in about a month ago and paid for a drink and granola, I was already in the car when I realized they didn’t give me my granola, oh well no big deal. My daughter and I went in today I ordered two drinks and granola, when we were leaving I asked for my granola and the cashier gave it to me. I heard the owner say did she pay for granola, I guess the cashier forgot to charge me so she sent the cashier after me to the car to get the granola back. Wow! How much was she going to lose from one cup of granola- I work in a tipping position and I always tip. This will be the last time I go there, the manager must be hurting for every little cent. I can make this at home. Zero stars

Mon Eugene Café – Menu with Prices – 1251 Rue de Champlain, Montréal

Victor 23 Brewing – Menu with Prices – 2905 St Johns Blvd #3718, Vancouver

Victor 23 Craft Brewery is a fun one! The concept is unique as it is themed to the D.B. Cooper story( A skyjacking by an unidentified man that happened in 1971 by an unidentified man that occurred in the Pacific Northwest in the airspace between Portland and Seattle). The concept in of itself makes this brewery fairly memorable at least for me! The beer is very good as well which also helps with keeping this brewery in mind for future reference. Steve and I got a couple of types of beer here that we really liked. We had the Mile High Blonde which had an excellent crispness to it and the Skyjacker which was a great India Pale Ale. The setup to the taproom is spacious and clean and the staff here were very accommodating and friendly which definitely put this brewery as a favored stop on our most recent trip to the Portland area.

Granola Jar – Menu with Prices – 1033 Mt Pleasant Rd # J, Evansville

I loved to eat at this place when it was Cafe 111. It was a nice place that in addition to the great food, it was not treated like a fast food place. You ate off of real dishes, used regular forks, and glasses for drinks. I have really liked the original Granola Jar location so thought I’d try out their second location. As for the food, I missed a couple items from Cafe 111, but the same good Granola Jar fare was present. However, when checking out I was given my food on a disposable plate, and my drink in a plastic glass. But then I went to get my silverware, and it was PLASTIC too. Here we are sitting in this nice restaurant eating like we’re on a picnic. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly, but I can’t get past their change to disposable products and have to give them a poor rating because of that. I won’t go back until they change this.

Sootha Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4840 Irvine Blvd #111, Irvine

I ordered a pour-over coffee using beans from Ethiopia and Yu prepared a very fine cup for me. The fruity notes and caramel came through beautifully vibrant (indicating a masterfully roasted bean which was also brewed correctly). Yu intends to always carry beans from the four major coffee growing regions, namely East Africa, Indonesia, Central America and South America. All of the beans he sources are organic and responsibly farmed and traded. I realize the bulk of his patrons are likely not looking for master-craft coffee but are rather interested in tasty lattes with cool art, ambience, study space, and chatting, etc. Nonetheless, for coffee aficionados, I am confident that with Yu acting as your barista, you will be pleasantly surprised by your cup of coffee as its juxtaposed with what is seemingly a cafe catering to what would otherwise be Strbks patrons. What’s more, you don’t have to deal with the pretentiousness of the Portland-style, cafe racer, hipster nonsense that is so popular with trendy, overpriced coffee houses cropping up all over the world. I say all of this as a disgruntled native of Seattle. Keep fighting the good fight, Yu!

Salt & Straw – Menu with Prices – 5420 Ballard Ave NW, Seattle

If you have never visited a Salt & Straw, you are missing out on some of the most delicious ice cream in the country. With several locations on the West Coast, you should bookmark this to try their unique flavor combinations and hospitality. Our family’s first trip to Salt & Straw was to the original location in Portland where the line was wrapped around the block. It was also the #1 rated restaurant in Portland, so we had to try it out. I think that as we waited for nearly 30 minutes, we sampled every single flavor in the shop as our ice cream steward patiently and attentively brought us tastes on small stainless steel spoons. Not sure if we were even hungry by the time we reached the counter, but we still managed to order waffle cones filled with rhubarb and saffron in champagne, honey balsamic strawberry with cracked pepper, sea salt ice cream with caramel ribbon and pear with blue cheese. Fast forward to this summer in Seattle and, of course, Salt & Straw was #1 on our list for ice cream. Limited our samples to the summer specials and a few classic Seattle flavors which again were brought to our party of 11 on small stainless steel spoons. Wait time on a Saturday afternoon was less than ten minutes. Nice to be able to do split scoops to enjoy classics like sea salt with caramel ribbons and seasonal flavors like fresh sheep’s cheese and strawberries. Hope they branch out to Texas soon.

Cakeface Maine – Menu with Prices – 99 Monument St, Portland

What brought us in were the legendary cakes of Munjoy Hill (you can smell them from blocks away), but what I was surprised to find is that they give exceptional haircuts!! I enjoyed the views of Portland while Ian, the baker/hairstylist gave my good friend the best haircut Iâ??ve ever seen! Iâ??d give this place 10 stars if I could!!!!

Thrive Juicery Menu with Prices 2420 E Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor

Popped by Thrive after yoga during a visit to AA and was impressed! The unique location in a unassuming strip mall makes this a little off the beaten path, and we were easily able to find parking and have a very minimal wait time – although I’m sure this is not the case when students are in town! The interior was perfect for a modern juicery – white walls, lots of natural lighting, many open spaces – very modern chic and a great environment to be sipping a smoothie! The menu at Thrive is relatively limited, with only a few “solid” food options but a good selection of smoothies and juices. Since it is a “juicery,” definitely wanted to check out some sort of “juice” option. I wanted something a bit more substantial, so I went for the Health Nut smoothie and was pleased with my choice. The inclusion of oats, chia seeds, and dates gave the smoothie its substance, and with the cacao powder and maple syrup, it gave a sweetness that wasn’t overpowering. I was expecting to be hungry again in a few hours, but I was surprisingly kept full for nearly 6 hours after! I did think the price was a little much ($8 for one smoothie), but worth paying for an excellent smoothie. I would like to try the “food” option, namely the sweet potato toast, and I would love to have smoothie bowls on the menu to make it a more comprehensive juicery. Overall, was a fan of Thrive and hope to visit again!

Browne Trading Company – Menu with Prices – 260 Commercial St, Portland

Good……gaaawd how I love this place. We stopped in recently as we were walking and exploring the streets of Portland. What a great find this is! The location is near the water, farther back from all the main hustle and bustle. When I first walked in, I noticed that it was on the smaller side but when I realized how amazing all their products were I understood. No need for a huge selection of mediocre when you can have a smaller selection of heaven. I want to eat everything in here. The cheese selection is small but extremely good. There was one cheese in particular, I wish I could remember the name of it but it was rolled in flowers on the outside, that was unlike any cheese I’ve ever had. Sweet, buttery, earthy, musky. Just amazing. They also have a blue that is yellow gold in color. We bought 4 different kinds and all were exceptional. They also had the best smoked salmon I’ve ever had, and that my friends, is no exaggeration. My sister, who is new to eating meat and seafood, had never tried smoked salmon. She ate a sample they had and said she will now travel from NH to Portland to get it and I agree! Wish they could ship it to me in Florida. It was not as fishy as smoked salmon usually is and was buttery, melt in your mouth good. Super delicate. They also have a really good caviar and wine selection. If I lived in Portland I would be here every day. If you love the finer and more delicious things in life, visit this market! You wont be disappointed.

Peach’s Restaurant – Creekwood – Menu with Prices – 7315 52nd Pl E, Bradenton

My wife and I and our 5 mo. old granddaughter visited Peaches for breakfast. The server Nicole, was excellent as usual. After our drinks were served, my wife asked if I would get her a straw (the restaurant was busy) and I asked a server standing by the cook’s window if I could get a straw, she gave me two. As I turned to go back to my table, I grabbed a bottle of Cholula for my egg white omelet. I heard someone from the cook’s window yell ‘GET OUT, YOU ARE GOING TO GET SUED (I thought he said shot) and I put my Cholula back and hurried to my table . My wife asked who was yelling at me (I discovered it was Eugene, the manager). I am a 75 year old man with high blood pressure, and needless to say, I was scared. I hope the owners will have a talk with Eugene. Incidentally my Casey Key omelet was filled with bacon chips (wonder If Eugene did that ! I will go back as I enjoy the food and service , ONE BAD EGG CAN SPOIL THINGS .
