Excellent restaurant! My boyfriend & I were looking for a nice, new restaurant to try while we were passing through Bend. We are pretty particular when it comes to food, foodies, you might say. Citizen was somewhat new, and looked fantastic. We had a reservation for 7pm for dinner, we decided to stop by early (45 minutes) to see if they could get us in. They were more than willing to accommodate us and get us in at the earlier time. The host/waiter was excellent. He was very friendly and attentive. We started the meal with cocktails. The waiter provided helpful recommendations and I enjoyed a gin cocktail (I can’t recall the name, but it was the third gin cocktail on the list) and my boyfriend enjoyed the smoking rosemary old fashioned. Both drinks were fantastic and well made. We also got complimentary warm bread and butter which was delicious. Then the food!! We started off with the Raclette and ham which was delicious. The stone ground mustard was so tasty. I ordered the scallops and my boyfriend got the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly and good portion sizes. Both presented beautifully. The salmon was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with green peas and purée. The only thing I would change about the scallops is the cauliflower purée. I think the dish would have been better with risotto or polenta, perhaps. We finished the meal with a s’mores chocolate tart which was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant, great staff, great food, great drinks all for a reasonable price! We look forward to going back.

Pub Bricco Menu with Prices 1841 Merriman Rd, Akron

Casual atmosphere, good service, creative food and drink. Husband and I stopped at Pub Bricco for a simple meal after a busy day at work. I have only been o eth Pub for work events, the typical â??going away cocktail get together,â? and this was our first time visiting for a meal. I started with the cucumber gin cocktail, which was very good and refreshing. We shard the mussels appetizer which was delicious, and even enjoyed the garlic bread that came with it to dip! I had the tossed salad with salmon for my dinner. It was very goodâ?¦ big and goodâ?¦ I took half of it home! My husband had the linguine with shrimp and andouille sausage in a cream sauce. He really enjoyed the dish and felt that the sausage was a great addition. This trip, we sat inside, but plan to try the outside when we return. Yes… we will return!

Old Gilman Grill – Menu with Prices – 216 W 8th St, Chattanooga

This was our first to Gilman and we loved it! The sidewalk seating for an early dinner was perfect. It was a great place to watch people go by. The restaurant has a nice open and upscale atmosphere. We ordered a few drinks to get started and then followed with food. The drinks were high quality and made with care. Very refreshing… For entrees my wife ordered a salad with salmon on top and I had the grilled ribeye with shallot demiglaze, and French fries. As an early Father’s Day treat, we sipped on drinks and watched people go by. Our food arrived shortly there after. As a surprise courtesy, the waiter asked me to check my steak after he brought it out. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! Tender and juicy, I enjoyed my Father’s Day meal. The waiter had to leave early and handed us off to another waiter. What was polite was that he took the time to let us know and also introduced the next guy. Outstanding for today’s millennial world. Kudos to Gilman for customer service. Overall, we had a great experience at Gilman and will certainly be back. Love the location in front of the Chattanooga Westin. Keep up the good work!

Umbrellas 1296 – Menu with Prices – 1296 1st St, Sarasota

Arrived and waited at the bar for my 4 friends.. Ordered a martini and had to listen to an argument with the bartender and another staff member right infront of us.. Not classy at all.. Happy hour prices were very good and drinks were excellant.. I was told twice by a staff member that we would have the window seat table.. We just needed our drinks and we turned around and they had seated a 2 some right where we were suppose to sit.. So they stuck us back in a corner.. Not right.. Our waiter was nice and attentive.. Most of us ordered a salad with salmon.. The waiter left with our orders….then came back a few minutes later and said that they didnt have any salmon.. The chef had not told him they didnt have salmon.. Poor planning!. 4 of us had to switch to something else.. I switched to the short rib with polenta…..only to be told later that there’s no polenta and i would have mash potatoes.. The short rib came….looked very nice however it was cold inside.. My other friends added shrimp to their chopped salad entree.. They felt it was subpar in taste.. One girlfriend order scallops and she enjoyed her dish.. There was not good organization with the chef informing the staff on food on the menu. The chef needs to improve on the quality and temperature of the food he/she serves.. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Sushi Go Go – Menu with Prices – 119 Harbor Way B, Santa Barbara

My boyfriend and I came to the harbor hoping to enjoy some fresh fish. I ordered off the special rolls menu and got the salmon/avocado roll. My boyfriend ordered a teriyaki bowl. And we got the mussels to share. The mussels were good! Maybe a little hard on the spicy mayo, but still good. That raised my review to three stars, plus, my boyfriend enjoyed his teriyaki bowl. My salmon/avocado roll was very disappointing. At first I didn’t even believe it was salmon because of how discolored and dark the fish was and then once I started eating it I could tell it was really old fish, which is what prompted me to write this review. I looked them up on yelp and saw all the food poisoning reviews and now I’m feeling a little nervous tbh since both my boyfriend and I aren’t feeling too hot stomach wise

Bistro Two Eighteen Menu with Prices 218 20th St N, Birmingham

I walked by this restaurant many times and didn’t even realize it was there. I feel like this might be a Birmingham hidden gem for some. If you want to have a great date night or to celebrate with friends and/or family this is definitely a fantastic option. Great atmosphere, service, food, and drinks. I literally couldn’t have asked for anything better. Our server was Ryan C. and he was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and drinks. He made great suggestions and was very courteous. I ordered the beef tenderloin medallions rare to medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The brandy cream was seasoned perfectly and paired excellent with the beef and the potatoes gratin. We also ordered the sea scallops and they were the best scallops dish that we’ve ever had. Every time we get scallops at a nice restaurant they’re very good ; however, bistro 218 took it a step further with their incredible sauce that was seasoned perfectly. For dessert we had the blueberry entremet. The texture and the variety of flavors between the blueberry, lemon, and almond flavored cake were amazing. If you haven’t been here, I highly recommend that you try it ASAP!

Loie Fuller’s – Menu with Prices – 1455 Westminster St, Providence

Unassuming exterior leads to a wonderful Art Nouveau recreation inside. Parking available next door.Situated in a residential neighborhood, this restaurant was an excellent find. Creative cocktails and seating available at the bar starts you off. The dining room is lovely and had a nice fire on a dreary damp evening. Waiter served as host as well as serving the six tables of guests. He was prompt, cheerful and attentive. While this is not a place to go if you have somewhere else to get to, it was perfect for a leisurely meal. We were able to finis our drinks before the appetizers appeared rather than rushing to catch up to the food. The wine list, while small is well chosen and offers a range of options. The menu is also limited in selection but the choices are varied. The boeuf Bourgogne was among the best I’ve ever eaten (or created!). The sauce was rich and full of depth. The bouillabaisse was an excellent mixture of New England seafood, full of scallops, shrimp, mussels and salmon in a rich and flavorful broth. Dessert was a joy with pot de creme and Basque cake as choices. My only disappointment was no espresso or cappuccino was available. This will become our French restaurant of choice not only for the delicious food, but also for the timely and pleasant service and atmosphere

The Falls Restaurant Menu with Prices 8851 Macon Hwy, Athens

Ok this restaurant rated way over our expectations. Just googled places in Athens that took reservations and this placed popped up. We were in town for sorority parents weekend and didn’t want to wait two hours to eat since we had an event to attend. First of all. You can park right in front. Easy access. Beautiful dining room. White tablecloth but not too swanky. The only reservations open were high top bar or outside. Knowing my husband hates to be hot we went for high top table by the bar. Loved this. A little more casual and fun. Half price appetizers if you sit in this area. Now for the drinks. I had the Drink special. Spicy margarita. Very good. The food. My husband had the salmon. And he’s a very very choosy salmon eater. He said it was fantastic. Really high praise coming from him. He started with a Caesar salad. And again he’s a really choosy Caesar eater. He said it was very good. Daughter and friend had Caesar with grilled chicken added. They said the chicken was very tender. The rolls are very good accompaniment. I had the rabbit tortellini. Fantastic. Service. We had John as a waiter and he was fantastic. Hostess greeting us was blah. No smile. Not welcoming. But she was the only below average experience for the meal. Beef up your front door and it would be perfect. Again. Total surprise awesome experience.

Tanaka of Tokyo West – Menu with Prices – 1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu

Enjoyed a nice dinner here with adult family cooked by chef Kevin and waiter Charles. Our chef was amazing fun and made our meal very enjoyable. Our waiter was new and it showed but you have to be new sometime he did an ok job too! Just know if you ask for soup in Honolulu you need to ask for spoons (youâ??ll get a teaspoon lol). Food was delicious. Salmon Steak quite Large. Blue drink. We were in the back of the Restaurant and it was nice & quiet. Water was replenished as needed. Bathrooms at front were clean. Didnâ??t order any desert. Definitely come back again.

Eastwind Sushi & Grill – Menu with Prices – 18555 N 59th Ave #124, Glendale

Unaccommodating to allergies. I can’t have spicy pepper and almost all of their lunch items are spicy. I asked if I could have the roll just not spicy and the waiter notified me that it would be a $2.00 upcharge even though on their regular menu a spicy salmon roll is $6.25 and a non spicy salmon roll is $6.50. The food is good and presented nicely. I ended up with the Shrimp Tempura roll lunch special one of the few things that wasn’t loaded with siracha and it was decent, like so many places though more cheap shredded fake crab stick than shrimp or avocado. The nigiri were fresh and tasted good. Salmon, red snapper, tuna and a shrimp. The miso was very tasty. The hot green tea was a nice lite green tea that I enjoyed and cost $2.75. It’s a shame that this restaurant like several others thinks there somehow saving money by upcharging for a very simple change. The real reason why spicy tuna or spicy salmon etc is used so much is that it’s the junk parts of the cheaper fish. Sad really… I would have like to give this place a 4 or better but their greed prevents it.

California Fish Grill – Menu with Prices – 3988 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine

Normally I love California Fish Grill. I’ve tried a number of items on their menu and I’ve pretty much enjoyed everything I’ve had. Unfortunately, today (7/13) was the first time I’ve had a disappointing experience from this normally great seafood chain. I placed an online order as I usually do since I live so close to this location. They are almost always on time, which I greatly appreciate! My boyfriend got his got to, Swai/white fish in garlic butter with fries and white rice; I opted for the seared scallops in garlic butter with white rice and zucchini. My boyfriend’s dish — absolutely delicious. Mine, not so much. I have had the scallops before and they were tender and cooked to perfection — not this time. The cook between them all was extremely uneven, some had barely any color and some were burnt and very difficult to eat. I normally will power through a little burntness, but this was hard even for me. I am just disappointed with this inconsistency, normally they are always spot on for me, and to be paying money to get something you can’t eat is really disappointing.

Saltbox Seafood Joint – Menu with Prices – 2637 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham

As a lifelong resident of the Carolinas, I know the seafood traditions of our region well. The folks at Salt Box know them, too, and just how to tweak and improve on them without losing the spirit of Fish Camp cooking. We’ve driven by this new location before and thought about stopping in, but this weekend decided to give it a go. And I’m so glad we did! I had the scallops and my dining partner had the grilled shrimp. Plates are served with house-fried potatoes and slaw. Splitting the two entrees was easy, since neither of us could finish either one. The shrimp are served peeled and covered with a fragrant herbal mixture while they grilled, so that they didn’t really need sauce. But the updated versions of the traditional tartar sauce and red horseradish cocktail sauces were amazing and only better showed the flavor of the seafood. My scallops were very lightly breaded and fried (they aren’t available grilled, unfortunately!), but were not too greasy. The fried potatoes, however, brought a good bit of vegetable oil to the meal. It was very light, so not old or heavy. Since there wasn’t a lot of bread on the scallops, they were very light, seasoned a little differently than the shrimp. Here, again, that red cocktail sauce played tricks on my palate. I make a pretty tasty version of this myself, so will have to try for whatever is in the Salt Box recipe that brings in such a new flavor. If you’re a fan of Carolina Cuisine, you owe it to yourself to give the Salt Box a try – it’s a great riff on a fantastic tradition!

Sheaâ??s Bistro & Bar – Menu with Prices – 658 Main St, Buffalo

This is the perfect place for dinner before a show at Shea’s. Of course you get to park once and then be at a lovely restaurant that is right in the same building complex as the theater….. but also because the service and the food are very good. The menu changes with each show that runs at Shea’s. Each time it’s a prix fixe 3 course meal (for $30 per person). And… there’s a terrific wine list (and cocktail and beer list as well). We shared a wonderful bottle of Malbec. The service is friendly and helpful. My date and I each started with the Butterbean and Kale Soup (with heirloom tomatoes, mirepoix, and parmesan cheese). It tasted like it was simmered all day because the flavors melded perfectly, and the kale was tender and delicious. Fresh bread and sweet creamy butter was brought to accompany our first course. For entrees my date had the Roast Salmon (with marinated vegetables, herbed couscous, and pesto sauce), and I had the Sirloin Steak (with carrot-parsnip purée and roasted asparagus). Both dishes were perfectly executed (yes…. I tasted both). The salmon was perfectly cooked and topped with pesto that tasted like a summer day. The (Israeli) couscous and veggies were a light and tasty counterpoint to the flavorful fish. My steak was cooked exactly to order, and topped with a delicious demi-glaze. The oven roasted asparagus was tasty. And, the vegetable purée added a bit of sweetness that nicely complimented the other elements of the dish. For dessert we opted to try one of each of the two options and share. Both the Warm Grape Cake (with honey-grape syrup, whipped topping, and almonds) and the S’more Trifle (with graham crackers, chocolate pudding, and marshmallow) were absolutely picture-perfect (but I forgot to snap a photo). They were a bit on the sweet side for me though. And, I was disappointed that the whipped topping on the cake was indeed “topping” and not real whipped cream. Still…. it was a great dinner…. in a lovely and convenient location. I will certainly be back.
