My first visit….The first thing I noticed when I entered this establishment was the massive amount of smoke. It was all over which derived from the food that was being cooked in the kitchen. My child has Asthma, thankfully, the smoke did not trigger an attack. When I began to order food to eat, they were out of the majority of items. So I regathered my thoughts. In the mean time, I inquired about the soul food buffet and seafood plates and breakfast that I viewed on the web site. The owner stated they did not offer either items which leads me to believe there is massive amount of false advertisement of what was being offered. I proceeded to order a fish dinner and wings….When the items arrived i noticed the fish was tasteless and greasy and the fries were half done, the wings were to wet and had NO flavor. Flies were a huge problem, sticky tables and the smoke continued to float through out the building as we tried to sit down to eat. The owner is extremely nice and was very accommodating. However, I will not be eating there again. I could only image what the remainder of the food tastes like. I see several reviews indicating the good, food is well seasoned, to each it’s own, I myself knows what well done, good seasoned food tastes like. I was trying to support our establishment but not at the cost of me wasting my money on food I’m not pleased with. I wish Ms. Catz the best of luck. However, read your reviews and make the necessary adjustments for a more productive business.

MeVell’s BBQ & Wings – Menu with Prices – 3024 New Covington Pike, Memphis

Make sure you tell them regular fries or seasoned fries! They’ll charge you for seasoned fries which is an extra $1.00, and not tell you. We were over charged twice. The double burger is the best item on their menu! It’s huge and juicy, but if you order the $8.99 special that you can get a burger, BBQ sandwich or fish with wings and fries, the burger is so tiny, over cooked, and not worth it. The wings are decent. I have eaten here several times, and was only happy with the double burger. The gentleman answering the phone is cross, and not very nice, but the lady is very nice and sweet. My family won’t be eating here anymore due to overcharging.

Lansing Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 815 Edgewood Blvd # D, Lansing

I ordered some wings from the fresh fish on Edgewood and 6 HALF wings just like this one were in my order. I called to tell them and get some replacement wings and the owner kept talking over me saying he knew because a lot came in the case so he put a couple extra pieces in my order. I counted them and my math determined that THAT was a LIE!!! I really liked this place because it was clean. After PISS POOR conflict resolution, I will now be taking my business to the East side fish fry for the majority of my chicken and fish needs. This idiot had the gall to rush me off the phone saying; “were really busy.”! You don’t have to EVER IN LIFE worry about ME making you busy again!!! Customer service NEEDS to be a PRIORITY because WITHOUT customers you have NO business. If you’re going to advertise a WHOLE WING, & charge for a WHOLE WING, then I want a WHOLE WING!!!!

Hooked on Frankfort – Menu with Prices – 3200 Frankfort Ave, Louisville

What to get: Fish tacos Time seated: 0 mins (Tuesday at 1PM for 1) Time food arrived: less than 10 mins Ambiance: casual sit down, small groups and families, outdoor seating Parking: small parking lot/spaces in front ==The Food== ++Fish Tacos++ You have the option to either do an “Order” which is just the tacos or a “Plate” which comes with fries, a hushpuppy, and slaw for $3 more [which fries are already $2.50 alone]. You can also have the fish fried or grilled(?), and my server recommended the fried. If you’re ordering just for 1 person, the 3 tacos are more than enough! The tortilla size is about a medium (I’m going by the sizing you see in grocery stores), which is already a large taco. I loved that they grilled/toasted the tortillas so they were crisp but still soft to bite into. The fish is breaded pretty heavily and with the amount of pepper in the breading, there’s a little bit of heat to the fish. On top of that, it’s loaded with pico de gallo, avocado, and lettuce + sauce that you can’t really see the fish underneath. Things will spill out, so either you can get a fork, or just accept you’re going to lose some stuff while eating into it. These might be my 2nd favorite fish tacos in town and you get more than enough for the $10.50. I recommend getting this. ++Fries++ The way to my heart is through well seasoned, crisp fries. I didn’t eat a lot of these while there since the tacos were so filling, but from what I had I think the fries have some room for improvement. First was that the fries weren’t quite crispy. They were soft, so either they weren’t fried enough or softened up over time after being done. What I did like is that these had that ‘seasoned salt’ kind of flavoring on the outside. I’m not sure if they make their own blend, but it tended to be more salty than having the other spices flavor them. I think I’d still get these over the other sides. They just match so well with the other fried seafood and fish. Plus they give you a generous amount, so it’s a good value as well! ==The Service== This place is relatively new and one thing I noticed was how enthusiastic the staff was. Not only did they immediately greet me when I came in, my server was especially cheerful and quick. As a solo diner, I really appreciate this type of service since it’s easy to get brushed off and left alone for long periods of time. Thanks for being attentive! ==For Next Time== -Fish plate or fried catfish

Indulge N PTS – Menu with Prices – 5708 N Main St, Columbia

I tried this spot on recommendation from my husband. The menu was interesting! There were a lot of unexpected items on the menu like fried bologna and smoked neck bones. There’s also chicken wings, turkey wings, pork chops, burgers, tuna salad and chicken salad. I stopped by on impulse so I did not pre-order as my husband advised me. I ordered the tuna Salad and the person I was with ordered chicken wings with fries. It took quite a while to get our order. We waited probably about 20 to 25 minutes. We got our order to go but there is a small dining area in the restaurant. While I was there, I noticed that they do deliver through a service like Grubhub. I am pleased to say that, although we waited a while for it, the food was delicious. That was probably the best tuna salad sandwich I have ever had. It came with freshly baked pita chips. Everything tasted fresh, seasoned, and was served warm. I will definitely go back again to try other things on the menu. But I will certainly call ahead to order.

The green lounge Hot Wings – Menu with Prices – 13175 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

Never judge a restaurant by its location. Hot Wings is a gem smack dab in the middle of a strip mall. If you’re looking for ambiance, this ain’t the place. BUT, if you’re looking for some damn good wings, this place is winner winner chicken dinner….sorry, had to do it. With over 40 varieties to choose from, these are amazing!! My hubby and I got 20 wings (honey bbq and spicy garlic herb) plus fries and 2 bottled waters for $20. The wings were very well seasoned and cooked to perfection! We were both pleasantly surprised. The fries are ok…wish we had gotten the Cajun fries. They have an extensive Vietnamese menu as well as fish and shrimp dinners. While you’re waiting for your food, you can also have a key made-random, but whatever.. Bottom line, Hot Wings is THE place for wings….go get you some!!!

Hook Fish and Chicken Menu with Prices 6035 Plank Rd, Baton Rouge

The food is made to order. I repeat the food is made to order. This previous statement goes a long way with me. I love fresh hot food. We ordered the chicken special for $7.77. Yes you read that right. Ha! It included 10 whole chicken wings and some seasoned fries. Yes, I know that’s more than enough for a couple of people, but we ordered more. Did someone say to go plates?! We also ordered a smaller plate that included a piece of fish and 3 whole wings. It included fries. I believe it was like 6 bucks. It was all good.. All hot! All seasoned. The young woman who took our order was very kind and definitely made you feel welcome. This is a hidden jewel. Check them out. They are worth the drive.

JT Cajun Seafood & Wings – Menu with Prices – 480 W Interstate 30, Garland

Wow, just wow. I first went through the drive through to order food but got super overwhelmed with all the menu options lol I wanted to know the difference in the salt and pepper wings vs the regular . I was told they had pictures inside if I wanted to see what it looked like so I took the advice and got off. They literally have a WHOLE wall with pictures of all the dishes they serve! Amazingly helpful! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the food . I ordered the salt and pepper chicken, fried fish and shrimp and 3 whole wings with fried rice. Everything was HOT and FRESH, and tasted so good! The salt and pepper chicken really has a nice twist to it with the onion , jalapeños, and chili pepper sprinkles! The fish and shrimp were batter perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The fries have a tasty seasoning on them as well. The wings were also seasoned just right and fried to perfection. I didn’t mind waiting the extra minutes to assure that. I highly recommended this place to anyone in this area! GREAT JOB JT’s! I wish I lived closer, but definitely would drive 45 minutes to come back!

1424 Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1424 Washington Ave, Waco

I wish I could give this a zero star rating–mainly for the way we were treated, because the food was average. It was the rude interaction and indignity we were subjected to at the restaurant by the chef/owner for which a zero rating is deserved. We have eaten here a few times in the past and had really good food and service–so a few weeks ago (September), we got a table for 3 for my boyfriend’s mother’s 80th birthday. The table service was adequate, but the food was less than average. I ordered the halibut which was dry and sightly overcooked (the flavor was okay) and my boyfriend ordered Chilean sea-bass. When the sea-bass came out, it was a tiny maybe one inch thick filet. We questioned our server whether is was even Chilean sea-bass, which she said it was. We order Chilean sea-bass from fine restaurants all the time for special meals (including at this very restaurant in the past), and we know what it looks like and what it tastes like. This was not it. Maybe another kind of sea-bass or another kind of fish altogether. It looked nothing close to the business owner submitted image that is even featured in the yelp listing for this restaurant. We were disappointed. At the end of the meal, we gave this feedback to our server. Our server relayed the feedback to the kitchen. The dinner ended in the chef/owner starting a heated argument with us at our table, showing us his cell phone image of a filleted sea-bass, giving us a convoluted explanation as to why the tiny filet entrée cost us 43.00 a plate. He asked what we would be willing to pay for this piece of sea-bass we were served and we answered what we were willing to pay, a third of the price. The chef yelled at us and said “YOU WILL PAY FULL PRICE!” before turning abruptly and retreating back into the kitchen. Wow. This is no way to run a business and we will never be back, and will tell our friends in Waco about this experience.

Sea Salt Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 3020 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale

I’m usually a regular patron of Fish Peddler East but when I saw these Five Star reviews coming in for Sea Salt Fish Market I knew I had to give it a try and I’m glad I did. Everything in Sea Salt Fish Market is brand new and the place is sparklingly clean. It doesn’t have the massive inventory of Fish Peddler but then it doesn’t have the hassle of the crowds either. And for not having so much, it has some items that are better or that you can otherwise get at other fish markets such as Hogfish (a/k/a Hog Snapper though it actually is wrasse and not a snapper) and one of my favorites, fresh clams, oysters and my most recent purchase prize, Pumpkin Swordfish. I can’t tell you how delighted I was to find Pumpkin Swordfish which derives its name from the orange color of the flesh caused by it having a diet primarily of krill and shrimp which also gives it a significantly sweeter to the taste more mellow, balanced and delicate flavor. Grilled and topped with a dash of Norwegian lemon sauce with capers it makes for a total delight.

New York Butcher Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 1500 Woodrow St, Columbia

I went to this establishment base on the reviews. Unlike previous comments on how friendly the staff, I went into the store with my family today. There were not any customers in the store. A gentlemen and young teenager were working. We were not greeted nor were we acknowledged of being in the store. I said ” something smells good to the workers” , no comment. I said ” I see that your smoked wings are your special, no comment. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I said” I would like to see your wings”, the gentlemen said “there they are”. I do not appreciate their customer service. I understand an establishment has the right to greet and extent their degree of customer service to whom they like, just as I have the freedom to write this comment and choose not to spend my money at this establishment. My rating is zero but you must give an establishment one star to post. So, I guest this store front got a star for this review.

Americaâ??s Best Wings – Menu with Prices – 4931 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond

When you label yourself as being the best in AMERICA you must bring your A-Game! Sadly, this is not the case for this establishment. I had taste for some wings and my job is in an area with limited food sources. This place is fairly new to the area and I’ve been hearing a lot about it so I decided to give them a chance. I’ll start with saying when expectation meets reality you will be highly disappointed! I ordered wings and fries. The wings were dry and the sauce was lackluster. The fries were mediocre. I don’t know why these restaurants still warm-up great value fries instead of ordering from another distributor. I wouldn’t order their wings again, nor would I order the fries. If I return I will try one of their sandwiches. I would categorize this establishment as a lackluster New York’s Fried Chicken.

J.R. Crickets NNVA – Menu with Prices – 14501 Warwick Blvd suite a suite a, Newport News

J R Crickets! Been hearing a lot about this place on the radio and looking for a place that has a history of good fried chicken wings. Also knowing they have a good history of them out of there home base of Atlanta GA, I decided to give them a try. When we arrived the place was slow. I began to wonder why so slow on a Saturday night after a payday weekend. I poised this question to the manager and he explained it would get super busy around midnight. This explains the after hours decor the place had. There is a bar, plenty of seating, and a game room area; seems more like a lounge than anything. Service was somewhat slow but very friendly; when we finished our meal we had to signal for the waitress to bring our bill; she was busy yapping with the other waitress. Now the food. When they say “Wings and Things,” this can be anything from wings and ribs, wings and fish, wings and shrimp wings and chicken tenders; you can even get wings and wings. Meals are served with fries, onion rings etc…. They have a lot more than wings, like sandwiches, meals, seafood and salads, but you wanna come here for the wings. Now I had the wings and ribs with lemon pepper; they, with everything else came to the table pipping hot. I mean I had to let it cool before eating which is OK by me. They were fried hard and seasoned perfectly. My wife had some BBQ wings with a sweet sauce. They were sweet and tender. Had a drink prior to the meal and though a little watered down, it was still a reasonable price. The bathrooms could use a little tiding up, the service needs to be more consistent and the mood was a little too dark for my taste. However its still worth going for the wings and whatever. I’ll be back.
