Wow wow wow. Had to live 31 years to eat a steak like this. The salt, still it lingers. This is one incredible place to dine y’all. I felt like an asshole, showing up with a late reservations, just over a half-hour before closing. It mattered not. These people were here to serve up experience, from course to course, exquisitely plated and delivered. I’d been waiting for a culinary experience on this girls trip, and this well hidden gem delivered. Go for the four course special, so you can absolutely indulge in all the menu offers. Refreshing seasonal salads and veggies that boast this countryside flavor. I wanted rustic while i was up here, and it was served with subtle sophistication. The wagyue melted in my mouth with black garlic puree over a perfect purple fingerling…damn. We offered to get our desserts boxed up but this krewe insisted on plating for the cherry on top. Bravo. Order one of all of the desserts, share with each other as you recap the perfect meal you just ate. This place is amazing. 100 A ++

Countryside Meats & Deli – Menu with Prices – 781 Highgrove Pl, Rockford

I was on the hunt for a Chicago style corned beef sandwich in Rockford. Yelp’s #1 pick was Countryside Meats & Deli. Well, Yelp, you missed the mark on that one, but Countryside is great for other things. First of all, I tried the corned beef sandwich. It tasted like a corned beef sandwich I could make at home, and not in a good way. All the ingredients were fresh and appropriate but there was nothing that would make me want to leave my house and purchase the sandwich. It also wasnt Chicago style, but that’s probably not relevant to most people reading the reviews. I also tried the daily special, which a turkey and bacon sandwich on a croissant. I liked it much more so than the corned beef sandwich. Again, simple ingredients, but the combination worked very well and I would likely get it again. Someone else ordered chilli and french onion soup and based on the smell I had to try the french onion. It is made in house and came with a small piece of toasted covered in melted cheese. The flavor of the french onion soup was AMAZING although the onions had not reduced enough. I would go back, but Yelp, this is not the place for a corned beef sandwich.

Melrose Tavern – Menu with Prices – 2712 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh

Upon entering, there’s a certain sophistication you feel while noticing the subtle nuances between the color of the wood paneling and the paint on the walls. Wrapped in sports history, the walls provide a glimpse of Pittsburgh’s greatest sporting moments, including the bars exceptional softball team. There’s a sanguine ambiance permeating through out the bars atmosphere transmitted by the elegance of the patrons.

Little Paris Tallahassee – Menu with Prices – 1355 Market St A7, Tallahassee

So glad I’ve finally had the opportunity to dine here. The rustic and warm ambience were welcoming and the greetings of bonjour transported me back to the time I was visiting the French countryside. I had the mushroom soup for starters and the flavors were vibrant and lush. The serving was generous too! I ordered the salmon as my entree and it was juicy, with just the right seasonings, cooked medium rare as I asked, and the skin was perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. It was paired with chunky cuts of frites, and they were not greasy at all. I usually don’t like to eat French fries but if it’s their version, I would definitely eat them again. Our group shared a dessert plate and enjoyed every bite. There were six mini-desserts, but I enjoyed the creme brûlée and the decadent chocolate mousse the best. Little Paris didn’t disappoint and lives up to their casual country French flavors. And more importantly, fresh and locally sourced ingredients and great service. I’ll be back soon.

Sam and Luca Rustic Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1959 S Power Rd, Mesa

After a great first impression at Sam and Luca Rustic Kitchen, the experience continued to awe. We were warmly greeted by the manager Yvonne and invited to choose where we wanted to sit! The ambiance is exactly as the name “Rustic Kitchen” conveys, with attention even to the lighting. Our waiter, Pablo, promptly came to our table with menus in hand and offered beverage selections. Our drinks were delivered and Pablo offered to explain anything on the menu as well as make suggestions. The bartender stopped by the table to check on our satisfaction also. The meal began with warm Focaccia bread, freshly toasted within eyesight by two kitchen employees with cheerful dispositions. The Burrata, Prosciutto and Roasted Red Pepper board, was delicious and artfully presented: ditto with the Arancini, served on a red sauce. At this time, we were offered seconds on the Focaccia. With its arrival, the main course continued to impress. My husband chose the Mahi Mahi, served on a bed of rice with a fabulous salsa on top. I selected the Chicken Rollatini, topped with a wine mushroom sauce, accompanied by an flavorful Penne Alfredo. Alfredo is hard for some to get right, often too runny, but this was perfect in consistency and taste. The portions were so large that we had ours boxed to take home halfway through so we could enjoy the superb Salted Caramel Cheesecake! The service was on point through the evening, even as the crowd grew. Kudos to the kitchen staff, who clearly is committed to using only the finest flavors and displaying each dish in unrivaled form. The restaurant absolutely gives off a “we like our jobs, we want you make sure you enjoy your evening” aura. This was our first visit, what an unexpected surprise, highly recommend and we will be back!

Batch Bakehouse – Menu with Prices – 1402 Williamson St, Madison

LOVE THIS PLACE! It’s in the perfect spot for a nice stroll along willie and to pick up a pastry, and truly you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. The menu is the display so take your pick! I got a chocolate chip cookie (which was superb, giant pieces of chocolate and you could taste the butter with a melt in the mouth ending), chocolate pecan pie (really good, the crust could have been a bit more flakey, but it was the perfect mix with the amount of chocolate and pecans!), blueberry blackberry almond danish- pause. This needs it own paragraph. Seriously, I have dreams about that danish, it was light, fruity, had just the right amount of crunch. Last thing I got was the wedding cookie which also melted in your mouth. So what I’m saying is, anything you get, there is a high chance It will melt in your mouth and you will be very happy leaving the shop.

Matteo’s of Boca Raton Menu with Prices 4938, 233 Federal Hwy #108, Boca Raton

From the moment you walk in you are greeted by welcoming staff… My first visit, so of course I checked out the decor- clean lines and elegant… loved it! The fresh (just out of the oven ) bread was a mistake… because I almost ate an entire loaf!!! As you broke and buttered each piece your mouth was already preparing for a party. The menu was so enticing that I couldn’t make up my mind. I told our server more or less what I had in mind… he took care of it!!!! My humongous shrimps were tender, sooo delicate! The pasta was just the perfect consistency. I would say the shrimp melted in my mouth but that would not give credit to each bite that I savored. The hubby ordered another shrimp dish wrapped in bacon (had some of that too)… can’t decide which I liked more… The portions were so large that the smaller servicing could have easily been shared. We were both celebrating our birthday and Pete (Matteo’s owner and ultimate host) said to leave that up to him… OH MY!!! I was surprised with a Napoleon (like none I had ever seen … now that truly melted in your mouth…) and a delightful rendition of Happy Birthday from the staff. In spite the fact I could barely move, I kept having “just one more bite!” I can’t wait to come back and bring the family! Five stars, two thumbs up!!!

Wiley’s downtown bistro – Menu with Prices – 115 N Washington St Suite 1, Spokane

What a wonderful experience! Delicious food! Artistic setting! Great service! Lovely evening! . . I posted photos of their $5 appetizers. Wow! What a treat! The stack of smoky mozzarella was Devine! Covered in roasted garlic that was sweet not stinky and the perfect additional the smoky, warm cheese. The hummus with veggies and pastry puffs were good but the stack of melted cheese was memorable!. . Libby was a fantastic server. Attentive but not hovering as 3 colleagues caught up on business talk from the east coast. . . We loved the One Tree cider called Lemon Basil! Refreshing and unique! Libby jotted down the name so Iâ??m researching how to get it on the east coast. Funny that Total Wine carries it in WA but not in NJ or CT. Ugh! Weâ??ll keep searching!. . We got so full with the appetizers and cider we werenâ??t able to enjoy full entrees. So Libby suggested we add salmon to salads. Perfect solution. I wish we lived closer since the 17 hours of travel each way makes it unlikely that we will be back to Spokane againâ?? but I urge those of you who are nearby to be sure to dine at Wileyâ??s!

Mare’s Custom Cakes – Menu with Prices – 27507 Echo Canyon Ct, Corona

Mare did such an amazing job on my son’s birthday cake and cake pops. I needed the desserts done around the time the fires were taking place and she had been evacuated from her home; she still managed to finish everything in time for me. She is so kind and her work is amazing! I sent her a photo of how I wanted the cake decorated and it turned out better than I had imagined. I also asked her to make cake pops that looked like stick shifts and everyone loved the idea and thought they looked perfect. The cake and cake pops were so delicious and moist. She also offers a large selection of cake and frosting flavors. I’m so happy I discovered her, and I would recommend her to anyone in need of desserts. She’s my go to from now on!

Farm Bell Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1209 W Main St, Charlottesville

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food and atmosphere make it one of my favorites in Charlottesville. I’ll start by saying the reasons I gave it four stars. It’s not the cheapest brunch or dinner option in town. You definitely are paying more for the sophistication and complex dishes, but some of the prices (like $9 for a tiny skillet of mac and cheese) are a bit high in my opinion. Secondly, it’s really hard to do any walk-ins, and almost impossible on the weekends. When trying to make a reservation, you’ll need to do so far in advance, and they have a policy of requiring a credit card for any groups over 6 people that will be charged $20 a head if cancelled too soon to the date. Lastly, I find it interesting that a lot of the dishes I’ve ordered repeatedly or seen others order (particularly the pancakes and bananas foster French toast) are prepared and served differently each time. For example, the first time we got the French toast, it was served on 3 slices of thick cut brioche that was basically cake, with no berries, just bananas. The next time, the bread was much thinner and served with more fosters syrup, along with berries. Of course, both were delicious, but the inconsistencies something to note. That all being said, the food is PHENOMENAL. The pecan praline pancakes are without exaggeration the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The maple topping reminded me of the filling of a pecan pie. I could eat those every day. Their other brunch options are equally fantastic. The ambiance is a mix of colonial Virginian and rustic modern, in a semi-formal setting that’s clean, bright, and beautiful. Would be excellent for a nice Sunday morning meal or date night.

The Curry Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3173 W Shaw Ave #103, Fresno

Ok. To further expand my previous review… Having never before given a restaurant, let alone a pizza parlor, a five star review on a first visit. And I have certainly never been so bold as to drop 5 stars simply based on aesthetics (service, cleanliness, smell, etc.) alone. Truth be told…I had not yet eaten their food when I wrote my initial review; however, sometimes a rare occasion occurs and you feel compelled to go with that “gutt reaction”…so I did. At first, I thought…oops, I really hope they deliver, or I’m going to lose any credibility I may have as an objective opinion. I actually thought heavily on this the entire 10 minute ride home. WOOHOO! I’m so happy that I gave them the initial 5, and sincerely wish I could find a way to give them another 5! Our pizza far exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared. The Butter Chicken Pizza is nothing short of amazing. A PERFECT marriage of Indian comfort and the ever faithful pizza. With an incredibly mouth watering Butter Chicken topping (perhaps) the best crust ever…an absolutely spectacular crisp exterior with a pillowy soft tasty interior that leaves your mouth craving more! I can’t say enough about the pizza…I will save you from my thoughts on the Hawaiian Hurricane (I think that’s what it was) as I could easily boast its wonderful twist on a classic. I will simply applaud, and continue. Among the food and service being spectacular, I most appreciate a menu that isn’t so packed with unnecessary items and ill conceived or pointless sides/options. Theirs is very concise, not too many choices as to be confusing, although the choices they do provide make you wish you were a competitive eating champion who had not eaten in a week! Oh…I almost forgot. The Wings…oh those crunchy, juicy wings! My mouth is watering thinking about them as I write this. I feel that should be sufficient to describe how amazing they are! Plenty of flavor options from spicy to sweet…there’s even an extended marinade (24 hours) available. There is nothing I can find wrong with anything about our experience, except maybe that I can’t eat more than one pizza at a time…but that’s on me, lol Do yourself a favor and get over to The Curry Pizza Company, you will not regret it.

Mediterranean Bistro – Menu with Prices – 6104 Frontage Rd, Myrtle Beach

My very favorite dining spot in all of Myrtle Beach! If I had more stars… It’s the perfect place to stop by after a day at the beach. The restaurant is orderly and clean. Each time we’ve frequented, we’ve been greeted and seated immediately. Food is served very quickly. A family-run restaurant and I could definitely feel the passion that they have for their restaurant and their patrons…and it comes through in the food they serve. Last year, we visited Mediterranean Bistro twice while visiting Myrtle Beach on vacation. Exactly a year later, we returned and the owner remembered us. She asked our daughter questions that were related to the previous year, so it wasn’t just small talk and she definitely remembered us and details about us. I’m so amazed she would/could remember us. Amazing memory and excellent customer service! This year, I started with the Lemon Chicken Soup. This is a flavorfully fresh soup with a subtle hint of lemon and it was a great way to start the meal. We also ordered the hummus platter as a starter. Their hummus is the best I’ve ever had. It’s amazing. Just order it! For an entree, I opted for the chicken platter. The platter came with salad, lemon potatoes, green beans, and tzatziki sauce. Everything was amazing in its own right, but it all came together with the perfect blend of flavor and texture. Portion sizes were ample and we definitely received amazing value for what we paid. Although I’m not vegetarian, there were plenty of vegetarian options…which seem to maybe be a hard find in Myrtle Beach. I absolutely left stuffed, but didn’t feel at all guilty because the food was so wholesome and healthy. I had been eying the desserts the whole time I was eating and I remember from last year that the baklava was to die for…but I simply didn’t have enough room saved for it. I regretted not getting some to go. Next year!
