Always fresh muffins and sandwiches; the best place for breakfast and lunch within walking distance; friendly and well-traveled manager!

Mellie’s New York Deli & Eatery – Menu with Prices – 4650 FL-64, Bradenton

Since this restaurant is within walking distance of my home, I was hoping for a nice breakfast stop that my husband & I could walk to regularly. But, I can’t recommend Mellie’s for breakfast. I’ve given it two tries and both times my breakfast was extremely disappointing. To their credit, they were apologetic and adjusted our bill, but the orders weren’t complicated orders to begin with. In both cases, it seems like there is lack of focus on food preparation (Toasted bagel not warm when it gets to the customer and missing a nice looking meal/plate presentation.). They seem like nice people, and I wish them well. Perhaps it’s better for lunch and strictly deli sandwiches. Btw, both times we visited the place was empty.

Super Star Donuts – Menu with Prices – 1050 Kendall Dr # B, San Bernardino

We came here last week because of the great reviews on Yelp! We tried 2 of their breakfast sandwiches and 1 of the regular lunch sub sandwiches. I had the everything bagel with bacon, ham, over easy egg and cheese. I added Avocados as well. The sandwich was perfect! The yolk was runny, the bagel was fresh. Next time I’ll save half for lunch. I also had a large hot coffee and even that was good! My buddies also enjoyed their sandwiches one was the egg, turkey, jalapeno with cheese on a croissant. The other sandwich was a sub with ham and turkey I believe. They really loved their sandwiches and told me what a great find on Yelp! The service was AMAZING! Very friendly. The manager offered us a free refill on my coffee as well as on an iced coffee that my buddy had. Once the rush was over she came over and said hi to us as well us bring us free donut holes which we loved! Keep up the great work! We’ll be back very soon.

Perry’s Joint – Menu with Prices – 2051 Lincoln Ave, Pasadena

I decided to give them a try after reading the reviews and my tastebuds begging for a sandwich. I have been along time customer of PSC but it was a bit far for me this particular day. This place is right around the corner from me with a Subways within walking distance from them. I ordered the yardbird, hubby ordered some of other sandwich..sorry can’t remember which one. The sandwiches were fresh, but not very large, both sandwiches contained alot of roughage, in which we both ended removing, placed in a bowl and added salad dressing. I’m not knocking the flavor or the sandwich, just the portions of the meat. I think my family is just a accustomed to PSC, any sandwich shop serving sandwiches to PSC customers have pretty big shoes to fill.

Pendleton Carryout Co. Menu with Prices 807 Pendleton St, Alexandria

really sad to be posting this because I loved all of their food offerings when they first opened. However, over the last few months the staff has changed, the hours have changed, and so has the food quality. My boyfriend and I loved coming in in the mornings for the breakfast sandwiches. Last week, the woman at the counter yelled at my boyfriend for walking into the open door at 10:55 am because they weren’t open for another five minutes, and then curtly told him they don’t have breakfast sandwiches in, speaking as if it was his fault that he had asked. today the people at the counter had their headphones in and didnt even fully take them out to take our order. Over the past month, they didn’t have the ingredients several times, and today they gave us a sandwich that not only didn’t have the fluffy scrambled eggs we were used to, but the egg was chopped up and not fully cooked through, the cheese wasn’t melted and they were overall soggy. As for the hours, they now dont open until 11, so for breakfast we’ve been hitting up McDonalds again, because in my book, 11am is a little for a breakfast sandwich and I dont want to be walking around midday to pick up lunch in 90 degree heat. Not going back here until they get their act together and turn back into the restaurant they were when they first opened.

Ark Gourmet Deli – Menu with Prices – 1186 Raymond Blvd, Newark

I have been coming here for years! When they used to be in Halsey street and then moved to Raymond Blvd. This is my breakfast go to place. My lunch go to place. They close at four so I mainly go for the breakfast platters. I love their breakfast sandwiches (with cheese on both sides of the bun) and their turkey club sandwiches are also my favorite. Their fries are cooked how you want them and I like the selection of chips.

City Line Cafe & Deli Menu with Prices 1144 Broadway, Albany

We were hungry for a quick early lunch, late breakfast after setting up for an event in Menands. It was about 10:45. Heading down Broadway towards Albany most of the restaurants we might have stopped at weren’t open yet. We saw City Line and an open sign and we were there. A man was walking out with a takeout bag as we walked in. I suspect they do a lot of takeout for the local workers. We, however, sat at one of a few tables. The friendly woman (owner?) at the counter took our order. They have a large variety of sandwiches with simple ingredients which can be made into wraps or paninis too. They were out of soup on this Saturday but they have it for the weekday lunch crowd. They also have lots of breakfast options including breakfast wraps. I ordered the Tim’s Favorite wrap with turkey and lots of veggies and garlic, basil mayo. My husband got a breakfast wrap with sausage and eggs. My wrap hit the spot. Average deli turkey and wrap but the veggies were crisp and the mayo good. My husband enjoyed his breakfast wrap. Nothing exceptional here but if you’re in the area and need a quick bite here’s your spot.

Fairfax Bakery – Menu with Prices – 11211 Lee Hwy J, Fairfax

Out of the ashes of My Favorite Muffin comes a bakery serving muffins so fresh, so delicious, you will find it really hard to resist. Unfortunately, My Favorite Muffin is no more, as the previous owner sold the business to other people. As a result they are not part of the My Favorite Muffin corporation, but the muffins are still similar to what you would expect to see at a My Favorite Muffin cafe. The new cafe may not have the punch card this one had, but the service is better! I was greeted by a cute George Mason University student who could not have been more knowledgeable and helpful concerning what I wanted. Yes, I love muffins. I got a full box of nine to go, plus a banana. All the muffins look plump, fresh, and cooked to perfection. No attacking the previous ownership, but while I loved their muffins, once you ate the tops, the “stumps”, or the bottom portion of the muffin, was hit or miss when it came to how done it looked. I just ate two of them, their Oreo and Blueberry flavor. The Oreo is fantastic! Chunks of Oreo cookie in every bite. The Blueberry one was decent, but a bit too dense and rich in the fruit. Maybe this one is one to avoid next time. There is more to be tried, but I can tell they are going to be fun to eat over and over again. Hooray for good muffins! Out of the darkness and into the light.

The Bakery Mill – Menu with Prices – 1143 NW 76th Blvd, Gainesville

During my college years, some 25 years ago, I would get great muffins from a place called The Mill. While visiting I looked up the place to no avail but this place, Mill Bakery and Deli, hit the spot. Their selection of muffins were great and my Blackberry choice hit all the necessary gooey and yummy notes to satiate my needs. My breakfast sandwich, croissant sausage and cheese, brought me out of my sleep mode without being overwhelming. Plus, the serverâ??s question of if I wanted ketchup â??forcedâ? me to get a side of hash browns. Great choice Bob or Don or whatever you courteous and helpful server was! My wife had â??not too eggyâ? French Toast with a side of ham that she thoroughly enjoyed. Plus a couple muffins to go. Oh, the coffee was good and hot. All in all, my new favorite Hogtowne breakfast spot.

Mr. Bagel meister the pointe Barclay – Menu with Prices – 1611 dusty miller lane the pointe barclay, Wilmington

This is a nice change from the “sub-lunch bunch”: sandwich made w a toasted bagel. The people running the business are friendly and seemed connected to the customers who came in while we were there. There were over a dozen choices of bagels like plain, salted, jalapeño, blueberry, egg, multigrain, poppy, maple bacon, etc. For lunch there were several choices of sandwiches made w Boar Heads meats and choice of tots (regular or sweet potato), fries or chips. They also have a variety of breakfast bagels. From toast w cream cheese (several flavors) to breakfast sandwiches. They also sell bagels by the 1/2 dozen or dozen.

Cupla Coffee – Menu with Prices – 175 W 200 S, Salt Lake City

I came in looking for a great bakery and they did not disappoint. They caught me just as I walked in and learned my name where I work and my brief explanation of my life and food allergies within the first five minutes of walking in the door. The two proprietors are very friendly and they recommended that I try the muffins which by the way were truly amazing. You can actually taste the grain in the muffins. It’s not like one of the typical muffins that is so much bran that it’s not edible or too much sugar to really be considered a muffin. It’s not a top of the muffin kind of muffin either. They are either blueberry or raspberry perfectly balanced muffins that are delightful all the way through. If you just happen to get there after they have cooled they will warm it back up for you butter it and talk with you until you have to leave. Naturally I did oblige them eat the muffin and share my life story. When I left I ordered a fair assortment of their pastries. The brownie is good but it has consistency issues. I hate bread pudding as a rule so I tried it knowing I wouldn’t be a fair judge and I couldn’t eat it. It’s just as inedible as any other bread pudding I haven’t liked in the past so I’m not much help here. The cream cheese danish was delightful and lives up to its reputation. They do have a rose donut that I was intrigued by but I am allergic and decided against it. In summation the two women that run this place do an amazing job especially when you figure in that each of these different pastries caters to a different crowd. Some are gluten free. Some are vegan. Some are keto friendly. I’m not sure how since they are so delicious. It’s definitely worth a stop into their little shop.

Donut Country – Menu with Prices – 1311 Memorial Blvd, Murfreesboro

I love Donut Country?s donuts! The things is, I?ve never actually been to Donut Country before today. These are the donuts that I find myself treated to due to their presence at office meetings and other occasions. For someone that has never purchase a Donut Country donut it is amazing how many of them I?ve actually had, and they have always been fresh and delicious! Today one of our clients stopped by our office, and he brought a box of assorted Donut Country donuts with him. While my buddy and I were enjoying them I made the comment that we should have donuts for lunch. That is when he informed me that Donut Country actually serves breakfast and lunch sandwiches! I didn?t need to hear any more, I immediately informed him that we would be going there for lunch, and we did! We each has a chicken salad sandwich with chips, and they were delicious! We decided to split and egg salad sandwich and it was one of the best egg salad sandwiches that I?ve ever had! Both the chicken salad and egg salad were very fresh, but that was to be expected as I had been told that they make everything fresh every day. We dined in the store and found the store to be nice and clean, and the atmosphere was friendly and cozy. These guys do a great job and I look forward to returning for lunch in the near future!
