I live above this cafe, and I come here about 2x a week. In my opinion, this is the single best coffee shop in Berkeley. Every aspect of this cafe is well-done: coffee, food, aesthetic appeal, service, and amenities. Coffee: incredibly well-made drip coffee and espresso drinks; the difference in quality between Cafe Nostos coffee and coffee from Yali’s / FSM / Strada etc. is instantly obviously. My personal favorite is the latte; if you order to stay, they serve your coffee in a clear glass that shows off the impressive and delicious foam on top. Also, super reasonably priced. Food: the homemade Greek phyllo pastries are delicious. I had their “breakfast pita” this morning: super satisfying combination of eggs and veggies wrapped in crisp, flaky pastry. Their sandwiches and desserts are also top notch. These guys don’t compromise on quality, and it really shows. Aesthetic appeal: Sturdy, comfortable seating. Large, sleek tables perfect for long study sessions. Bright, modern colors contrasting with cozy brick and a sharp, clean, industrial ceiling. Very clean and open. Nothing but positives, honestly. Service: run by friendly and helpful Greek guys; they keep the place running very smoothly and always greet you in such a positive way! They definitely brighten my day whenever I come in. Amenities: Free, fast wifi. Plentiful outlets. Super-nice bathroom. Pretty much everything you’d need to spend a comfortable few hours getting work done. Overall, I think this place is stellar and I’m incredibly thankful to live so close to it!

Muglife Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2452 1/2 Harney St, Omaha

All I really need in a coffee shop is good coffee and comfortable tables. Muglife has both, in spades. I love that their coffee of the day is just $3, since it’s a nice way to try new brews. I wish one refill was included for free (they’re $1) but I can’t complain given the quality. The tables aren’t rickety and there are heaps of power outlets around. The bathrooms are comfortable and gender neutral. The staff obviously love coffee but aren’t jerks about it doesn’t those of us who have less developed palettes. But what I really love about Muglife is the decor. There’s plants everywhere, natural light streaming in, and the open half wall with the bike shop gives the place a hip, casual, and airy vibe. In short: Come for the coffee, stay for the comfortable aesthetic.

All Greek Street Food – Menu with Prices – 4816 14th St W, Bradenton

WOW! This place was seriously INCREDIBLE. My husband travels all around the state of Florida for work and we always stop by Greek restaurants. This was by FAR one of the freshest and most authentic street foods from Greece. First of all, I have never had fries like the ones they served. They were thin, crispy, flat and still super moist and delicious. We ordered 2 platters and 2 gyros. The meat was fresh and PACKED (legit packed) with flavor. I could eat 10 more platters in one sitting. The owner was there and taught me about olive oil. They use super high quality oil from Greece. The tomato’s were super red and juicy. The bathrooms were neat-freak clean and so was the entire restaurant. If you’re a foodie you’re going to go crazy over their tzatziki was the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot… I’m Greek.) Even my toddler approved and licked his fingers clean. If you want a unique food experience you will not regret, you MUST come here.

Fuego Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 1 Woodbury Blvd, Rochester

This is my go-to place for everything. They have excellent coffee that has yet to let me down, whether in flavor or in quality, and a very open, light, and friendly ambiance that is incredibly welcoming. I always go there to do work remotely, so I’m often there for hours at a time. There are gorgeous views outside their huge, open windows, which make any day look picturesque and warm. The artwork on display is constantly inspiring and thought-provoking, and they clearly have a wonderful system for selecting artists. My sole complaint is that their chairs are not super comfortable unless you can get access to the couches, which are generally taken. Due to this, I tend to spend less time here if I can’t get a spot on a couch simply because the wooden benches and metal chairs desperately need some padding. Otherwise, I would basically live in Fuego. The staff are always incredibly friendly and work toward getting to know their regulars and their drink orders and habits. There is always a personal touch to the ordering process, regardless of how busy they are. Whatever they’re doing in training is incredibly effective and they always seem to hire amazing people.

Legends Coffee and Cafe – Menu with Prices – 25707 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy

Such a cool environment! This is Katy’s hottest new cafe. You have to check it out for yourself! They sell coffee, cafe food, pastries & even ice cream. Then they also have live music on certain days. They also have a super nice patio with the big swing chairs. I ordered a Caesar salad and man it was so good and tasted fresh! They also have the keto bulletproof coffee if you’re into that! You have to come and try out this place. Oh and for all the families out there they have a super awesome kid section for them to sit play and read in. Oh and a changing table! They do kid book readings on Thursday’s at 11am. Overall awesome place, great service. 10/10 recommend

Lui-Chiâ??s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 10020 101A Ave, Edmonton

This new and quirky cafe recently opened up in the Phipps-McKinnon building and features some unique whisky barrel aged coffee. Before opening up this coffee stand, Lui Chi’s was already established as a small coffee cart so it’s very exciting to have them inside and available in a fixed spot. The coffee here is definitely unique as the whisky barrel aging adds a little bit of bite and a lingering aftertaste. I personally love the roast here but it’s definitely unconventional. Each drink is made to order with options ranging from your standard americano to lattes featuring in-house made syrups. In addition to coffee, they also have some baked treats sourced from Arno’s. Arno’s is another local favourite of mine and it’s dangerously delicious to have these baked treats available downtown when I could usually only get them at the farmer’s market. The brass fixtures and steampunk-esque aesthetic go well with the fresh smell of their uniquely roasted beans. The cafe is in the lobby of an office building so it’s not a super intimate venue but I definitely appreciate the thoughtful decoration they’ve added to the coffee stand. Overall, this is a nice new addition to the downtown coffee scene and I know I’ll be a frequent guest here.

Gold Leaf Cafe Menu with Prices 1947 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Berkeley

Oh Gold Leaf, I think I’ve officially found my favorite cafe in Berkeley! The moment you step in, you’ll immediately notice all the unique and adorable decor. I mean holy moly, it was the closest thing I’ve felt to love at first sight. Everything from the gold accents against the greenery, to the spiral staircase lined with fairy lights is just beyond perfect. Even the straws they use are gold paper straws! Basically, I’m just trynna say that I hellllllla vibe with the aesthetic here! Furthermore, the owner of the cafe clearly put so much thought and love into the little details that bring back the traditional charm of cafes. There is no wifi, but there are a ton of books you can read. And if you choose to purchase a book, the proceeds will go towards charity. I can’t even be mad about no wifi anymore–if you’re a coffee & books type of person, this should be your go-to place to disconnect. Now, enough about the decor … this place isn’t all for looks & show–the coffee is amazing! I always order their oat milk lattes, which tend to run around $5 a pop. Pricey, sure. But I’m so darn excited every time I’m here that I don’t even care. And if you’re not a coffee drinker, they have a few options for tea and their hot chocolate is to die for. Finally, I’ve encountered numerous baristas and they have all been incredibly personable and kind people. Never had a dull conversation. And though the physical space of the cafe is small, there is a very home-y and local feel. If you’re ever in Berkeley, please do yourself the favor of treating yourself to something here at Gold Leaf! And if caffeinated beverages aren’t your thing, they also carry delicious baked goods from Firebrand!

The Chocolate Bar – Menu with Prices – 1520 N Mountain Ave, Ontario

I’ve been here with my kids a few times and every visit Has been a wonderful experience. I think when having dessert the aesthetic is a major part of the experience, and The Chocolate Bar does not disappoint. From the moment you walk in you’re surrounded with beautiful seating and organized walls of sweets in arrays of color. The workers at the counter were very friendly and immediately helped me know how their menu worked. I asked about their coffee and they gave me a sample of their Cafe De La Olla which was a very nice compliment to their Crepes. And let me tell you, their Crepes is really where the magic happens. Made fresh to order, you can taste the quality of the ingredients and again even the aesthetic of the presentation is on point. And even though the Crepes and Candy is where they shine, they also have food and drink and ice cream and coffee. If their other offerings are treated with the same attention to detail, I can’t wait to try it. Small details like quality of the sound system (where they play some nice tasteful Bossa Nova style instrumental music) make all the difference, when sitting to enjoy your dessert with a cappuccino. The whimsical elements make it fun for the whole family, while the texture of the furniture and chocolate fountain can also make this a romantic stop to impress your honey! I will be back with my wife for sure! Bottom line: the Chocolate Bar is an easy win. Impress your friends by bringing them by after a nice dinner for desserts and coffee!

Lil Zeus Food Truck – Menu with Prices – 112 W 50th St, New York

I don’t understand all the hype behind Halal Guys when you have a far superior product with Lil Zeus. I probably get food here at least twice a week and have fully abandoned Halal Guys. First off, Halal Guys white sauce is laced with so much mayo its not even anything close to resembling a tzatziki…2nd, Halal Guys hot sauce is so bloody hot you can’t taste what you are eating. Finally Halal Guys shreds the meat to such granular pieces, its like you’re eating dog food. at Lil Zeus you have none of those problems. The lamb meat is the typical donair kebab type (sausage/semi processed style) while their chicken is legit, cooked souvlaki style. The guys running this truck are friendly guys and they work hard to keep the line moving. Why didn’t i give it a full 5 stars? well the salad isn’t entirely greek as they used shredded iceberg lettuce as a primary filler instead of the green peppers, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, big blocks of feta + olives and oregano you see with regular Greek salads. Overall, the pricing is very fair for the portion size and its pretty delicious. Most importantly, this place puts Halal Guys to shame. Seriously…how can you squirt mayo all over meat that’s been pulverized into pebble like pieces?

Imagine 3D Mini Golf – Menu with Prices – 785 W Warner Rd Suite A107, Gilbert

What a fantastic place! It’s 114° outside and inside it is dark, glowing, clean and comfortable and feels like about 75°, awesome! We were greeted by three of the nicest, most friendly high school guys you could want to meet, Robbie, Dominic and Trevor. The owner definitely cares about his customers by having them greeted and supported by these three. Also, as shown by the cleanliness, they disinfect everything, including your 3-D glasses before you start. Love that. You don’t have to wear the 3-D glasses to enjoy this place, but it adds an extra dimension, literally ? Inside is incredibly cool and colorful! We were told it took two guys a full month of work to paint the inside of this place in glow in the dark, 3-D murals and pictures. The whole place is black light with glowing three-dimensional worlds, creatures shapes and walkways. There’s even a scavenger hunt where you try and find hidden words on the walls as you play your 18 holes. It really was a total blast! They also have a game area with air hockey and video games and a birthday party area. This place is super well done, super well run and very affordable. Highly recommended for any age, not just kids. We will definitely be back!

Zen Coffee Bar – Menu with Prices – 10960 S Eastern Ave Suite 103, Henderson

Follow your bliss and “trueness for being.” Seek out the joy in your being. Coffee is a realization of zen for me! Discover and connect with your happy and glee! Wanting to experience and explore the zen of the coffee bar is this fantastic journey. To achieve a true zen mode one needs clean and comfortable surroundings. Live plants blanket one of the walls cleansing the air as you place that zen order. All around the coffee house is that essential establishment with nature. Plants, plants of all types all around. Keeps the air one breathes in clean and crisp. Actually as I sit here and enjoy my matcha green tea the fresh air from these beautiful plants fills my lungs up with new vigor. No wonder I feel incredible. New coffee cafe, new menu. The first order is always tough. As I stare at the menu the nice coffee bar individuals are extremely courteous. They can feel a first timer. Never during the order process did I feel alienated or weird. The cashier had patience when dealing with my endless questions about dietary issues and what nots. An amazing example of these skills from the barista, as he made my tea lemonade drink was him asking me if I wanted all the ingredients that make up this purple passion. The drinks are not only delicious, but made with the highest quality ingredients and skills. The latte art does lack luster here, but I would rather have a delicious product I consume instead of art on top of it. Sure we all love out latte art but it’s not necessary. An awesome breeze which is the amazing purple passion Butterfly Tea. It includes ingredients such as lemonade, sweetness, and lychee. This Butterfly Tea is very incredibly sweet, but not overwhelming. If your not prepared for its sweetness level be fair warned now. It is served over ice and the tea/lemonade are particularly smooth. No acid after taste or preservative bitterness. The color looks beautiful as it sparkles in the sunshine. As you sip this Butterfly tea the purple holds the passion of the pink and releases this color as the sunlight passes through the ice and the cup. It’s very refreshing especially with those sunny Vegas days coming. Try your turn with the purple passion of the butterfly tea! The Zen Cafe provides a wonderful medium for those that are trying to be their own boss by being a provider of these local individuals products. One of the local business that they are preview in the cafe lobby is an aeroponics sustainable habitat. What is this right? Here’s a crash course in aeroponics: it’s growing plants without any soil! The plants are grown with only water and nutrients. The cafe has an example of this company’s tower garden. This garden is beautiful and fully functional. The growth of plants is done in the lobby with this tower garden. It’s truly fascinating to watch plants grow with no soil. The benefits of having this garden in their lobby is supported by a local business owner in the community. Nothing like free advertising. The chocolates that they sell in store are locally grown and organic which is provided by Happy Endings Chocolates. An array of bracelets and other shiny trinkets can be purchased too at the register which I was informed changes from time to time. Now that we know the zen cafe truly is this nirvana paradise atmosphere: How’s the food and drinks? Everything besides the coffee is made fresh daily in house. Their are options for vegan, gluten, and all the usual dairy substitutes. The matcha green tea I enjoyed on my first visit. Be sure and specify any changes that you would like for your drinks, such as sugar free. The matcha was good but lacked luster and pizzazz. The salted caramel latte was really heavy on the espresso but the caramel flavor was non existent. Truly I hope that this wonderful business does Incredibly well it has so much potential and such vibrant beautiful individuals that strive to deliver delicious food, treats, and happiness. It brands itself as a coffee house and it’s a passion of mine. The coffee is

Greek Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 11811 College Blvd, Overland Park

I was disappointed in my whole restaurant experience. Bummer too, been looking for a good, mouthwatering just thinking about it, Greek foodie for my go to. I ordered the Gyro sandwich lunch special…gyro, fries and drink. The price was reasonable, but not compared to the quality, and quantity of the food received, it wasn’t worth it. The pita was cold, and hard in places (not fresh). It was wrapped, not folded over, too. It consisted of the meat, sliced onions, and few pieces sliced tomatoes. They gave you the sauce on the side. The flavor was bland, …I thought to myself, I could have made this at home, using store bought greek packaged food. The food came out to you hot. The place was small, and tables were kinda too close together. Not much on the Greek style within. It was clean. The womens restroom was clean, too. The service was good, and friendly enough. Sorry to say, I will pass next time. Happy eating!

Pulaski Heights Barbecue Menu with Prices 675 Pulaski St #100, Athens

WOW! After successfully ending my Athens BBQ adventure, I can now say that Pulaski Heights BBQ took the prize. The owners clear sense of passion and dedication, referring to his Yelp responses, is what initially grabbed my attention. Anyways on to my visit.. I went for the weekday lunch, and my first impression of the place was that of a unique, yet comfortable appeal. It was nothing like the average, run of the mill BBQ joints, much more appeal, soul and defiantly has a strong modern feel. The music choice was great, and the owner was exceptionally nice and passionate about his awesome restaurant. The daily specials are worth while, and I will be coming back to take advantage of those! Now for the food, I ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer (pictured below), and they were amazing, I could tell they had used high quality ingredients, and the mustard seeds and homemade pickles made it all so good. For the entrée (also pictured below) I chose to get the weekday, lunch special, of which I got the rib sandwich, mac and cheese and a sweet tea. The rib meet was outstanding, after learning this I can’t even imagine how good the racks of ribs must be, however, I know I’ll be back for them! The BBQ sauces were great, and so was the mac and cheese. Lastly, the pickles for the BBQ, are usually overlooked by most restaurants, but not here. They make them fresh in house, and it truly shows, sweet and perfect! I have found my go to BBQ for sure, and not to mention, the prices are great for students! Well Done PHBBQ!!!!
